Ch. 7 - Another Morning in Nepal

---------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------

The throbbing pain screeching across Yohji's head was what woke him up. Jade green eyes slid opened to slits, thankful that it was pitch black in the room. He sat up, then quickly laid back down as the world began spinning around him.

"Guten morgen, kätzchen."[1] A soft voice broke through the air.

What happened? Yohji thought, too tired to voice his question and knowing the German would pick it up.

{Bradley Crawford happened, kitten.} Long fingers sifted through blond hair. {And your friend seems to have had the misfortune of falling into his company, as I did ages ago.}

You mean he's a..

{Nien. Not yet anyway.}

... Where are we?

{I wish I knew.)

Both men laid in silence after that. Yohji looked around, letting his eyes adjust to the dark. Once the pain and spinning subsided, he carefully crawled to his knees and tried to get up, only to have something tighten around his throat, forcing him to gag and sit back down. Thin fingers felt around his swan-like neck. There was a chain, it felt like a choker collar many people used on their dogs. It was fitted snuggly around his neck, and there was just enough slack for him to be able to kneel comfortably. With a sigh, Yohji laid back down, his head resting in Schuldich's lap.

It seemed like days before anyone came to check on them. It was still blessedly dark in the room as the door opened, so Yohji didn't move. He was too tired. Maybe if he played dead the person would think he really was. Schuldich was out like a light, not even stirring as the figure entered the room.

"Yohji?" The voice was deep, worried and undeniably Ran's.

A deliberate growl sounded deep in the blond's throat as he pressed himself closer to the vampire.

"I'll understand if you hate me, Yohji." The voice was softer this time. "I just had to make sure you were all right." Yohji looked up at his friend. His head was bowed, red hair hiding his face. He was clad in the same outfit as before, except the boots were missing now.

"Yes, I'm just peachy being chained up like a dog and starved. Thank you for asking." Yohji snarled.

"I- I'm sorry, Yohji." A sniffle made Yohji take a closer look at the redhead standing several feet away. Was he.. crying? Ran never cried. Ever. Even the time Nagi had pneumonia and was on the brink of death. Ran never cried.

"What happened to you?" Yohji squinted in the dark, shifting into a sitting position.

"Nothing."

"Liar. You're crying."

"I am not." Ran raise a pale hand up to wipe tears from his lavender eyes, causing him to wince slightly.

"Ran... you're such a baby sometimes. Come here."

The redhead looked back at the door, then to the German.

"He won't hurt you. He probably won't even wake up."

Ran nodded, then shuffled over to the blond and sat next to him. He then promptly wrapped his arms around Yohji and pressed his face into his neck, sobbing softly. Yohji had not expected this. So he did the only thing he could think of and wrapped his own arms around the shorter boy, trying to comfort him.

"I hate this Yotan..." He sobbed as Yohji rocked him. They both sat there like that, unmoving until the German slowly began to wake.

"Shit.." Ran whispered, "I have to go. Before-"

"Ran, what are you doing?" An irritated voice growled from the door way.

The red head quickly scrambled back behind the blond. "I'm just checking the chains, Crawford-sama." He said quietly. But no sooner were the words out of his mouth than the American was right next to him, gripping him by the hair.

"Don't lie to me." He growled, the backhanded the redhead hard enough to make him crumple to the ground like a discarded rag doll. "Now get cleaned up and bring that one some food."

Yohji's stomach jumped at the thought of food, but the rest of him was too busy loathing every fiber of the raven haired man's being to care.

"Hai, Crawford-sama." Ran whispered as he wiped the blood from his mouth, keeping his eyes on the ground until the American left, then quickly followed him.

"Arschloch."[2] The German grumbled as the door closed, fighting with his own restraints. "Motherfucking kotzbrocken!"[3]

Yohji would have been amused with the mixture of German and Japanese if he weren't so worried about his friend.

{He's not the same, is he?}

Yohji shook his head, tears threatening to well up again. His world was slowly collapsing around him. His friend was a broken shadow of his former self, the rest of his friends were thousands of miles away, and his lover was gone. A soft sob choked Yohji as a couple tears slid down his cheeks. He reached his arms out and wrapped them around the German, pressing his face into the redhead's chest. A hand rested on the back of his head, sifting through the blond locks.

{Don't worry. Everything will work out, kitten.}

The blond sighed and nodded slightly. A few minutes passed before the door opened again, light pouring into the small room this time. Two figures, Yohji could only assume it was Crawford and Ran again, came in. Yohji was carefully coaxed away from the German by Ran as Schuldich was a released from his restraints and dragged away by a leash, similar to what Yohji had on. He didn't struggle, rather he simply followed the American out of the room.

"You all right?" Yohji wiped his eyes and looked at Ran.

"No." The redhead sighed, setting a plate down before Yohji. "I haven't been all right since I left Japan kicking and screaming."

Yohji bit his lip and looked at the food. It didn't look like anything he'd had before. It reminded him of his earlier question to the redheaded German. "Hey, where are we?"

"Nepal. Near Katmandu I think."

The room was quiet after that, the only sound present being that of Yohji eating.

"Yohji..." Ran started, dull amethyst looking into jade green. "I.. I need a favor."

"What?"

"Kill me."

"What!?" Yohji blinked in surprise.

"Kill me. Please. I need out. It's the only way. I've tried killing myself. Crawford-sama finds me every time."

"Ran.. I- I can't kill you!"

"You can. You've killed before."

"No. I won't."

The dull amethyst suddenly became hard and angry. "You will, or I will kill you. Then neither of us will be happy." His eyes softened, his voice turned slightly pleading. "Please Yohji."

"I- I can't, Ran. I can't!"

"Fine." Suddenly a small dagger appeared and the redhead lunged at the blond. Yohji yelped and dove out of the way, gagging as the collar tightened around his throat. Ran dove at him again, missing the blond by a mere couple of centimeters. Yohji continued to roll out of the way, trying to stay within the small span of the leash, but more often than not he found the metal closing impossibly tight around his throat. Finally he got a good kick in, knocking the weapon out of the redhead's grasp. But that didn't stop him. When the weapon was lost, Ran removed the chain leash which was attached to the wall, then pinned Yohji on his stomach with his foot and yanked up on the chain, effectively blocking off the blond's windpipe.

Yohji gasped for air, struggling to get free. His hand scrambled for the dagger, closing around the hilt, then the blond went limp. A few more seconds and Ran released the chain, checking on him. Yohji quickly flipped over, knocking Ran onto his back. Working on pure street survival instinct, Yohji gripped the dagger, plunging it down into the other's soft belly and ripping up under the ribs.

A silent scream formed on Ran's face as he looked down at his bloodied torso, shock written all over his beautiful face. A soft smile formed on his lips as his head lolled to the side. "Thank ... you... Yoh..." the words died as he did, the lanky form going still. Yohji looked down in terror, the dagger forgotten in the redhead's body.

"Fuck.. Ran.." Yohji held the body to himself, the blood hidden in the black fabric. "Always have to have your way." He sighed, closing the lifeless violet eyes and pressing a kiss into the corpse's forehead. "At least now I have someone waiting for me where ever I end up, ne?" He plucked the dagger from Ran's chest and ducked out the door. Time to find Schuldich and get the fuck out of here.

[1] "Good morning, kitten." [2] "Asshole / Fucker / Dickhead." [3] "Motherfucking son of a bitch!"

Yay! I used German cuss words! Huzzah for me! I'm so proud!

Schuldich: And so you should! German is by far the most superior language.

Crawford: English is the language of business.

Ken: And yet we all speak Japanese, so shut it.

Crawford: Actually we speak English in this story.

Ken: But it's supposed to be Japanese, unless otherwise noted.

Yohji: *hiding behind Jade* Why did you make me kill Aya?

Because you were such a bastard about getting fucked by Farfie.

Aya: Why was it so much easier to kill me than sleep with Farfarello, Yohji?

Yohji: Well.. that is.. I mean.. uhm...

Omi: Why did Nagi get mentioned in the chapter and me and Ken didn't?

Nagi: Why did you say I almost died of pneumonia?

Why don't you both shut up?

Omi and Nagi: *glare at Jade, then steal her Red Hot Chili Peppers CD's and run off*

I have RHCP CD's? Cool! ^.^

Aya: At least they survived the chapters they were in. *growls, polishing his katana as per usual*

Ken: So did I!

*shifty eyes*

Ken: I don't like that look...

Well Yohji has to get that coat back somehow...

Ken: *panicky* He can buy a new one!

.... *smiles innocently and wanders off*

Ken: Jade? What are you up to? I don't want to die!
