Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ Undistinguished UnderScore ❯ Shadows Speak ( Chapter 9 )
"Good job Weiss, after you did the dirty work on that last mission with "Bloody Moon", the cops came soon after and took care of kids that were kid-napped."
"Arigato, Manx-Sama.." Said Aya and the rest of the boys, but Ken stayed relatively quiet.
"Persia's found some other information for you all to look into." Manx handed each of the boys a folder. "Persia has been monitoring this group for awhile, he's afraid they might rise to become a problem. He thinks you should strike while it's still easy."
Zeva had parked her bike a few blocks away, and had resulted in walking. Her hands in her pockets, and her head hung her crimson red hair shadowing her face. She had been walking and driving around for hours, if she looked up she could probably tell where she was but she didn't see the need too. The silence invaded her thoughts, and she felt darkness consume her with each step. It was probably some where around ten o'clock at night, and she still walked aimlessly but the sudden sound of light voices caught her attention in the still night air her sliver cross reflecting in the moon-light.
"Nani..either I've gone insane..or I actually do hear voices..faint..but where?" She looked around, until she saw a very small window that was slightly cracked and very close to the ground with a dim light shining through it. For the first time sense she started walking she looked up "This is where Ken and the other guys work.." She walked forward, making sure to be quiet. "This looks like a basement window of some sort.." She thought as she silently crept through the shadows. She pressed herself against the wall, making sure that she wasn't casting a shadow over the window, it was hard to hear everything they spoke of but Zeva focused until she could hear almost every word. Her curiosity struck again and she slowly peeked in to look through the window, to see what she expected, only one other member was present and a red-headed female. She quickly pulled back from the window before anyone noticed and began to listen intently again.
"Weiss, it's hard to say exactly where this case is going. It should be fairly easy but I still would require all of you to go, just incase this organization dose turn to be more than just a street fight."
"Ne..Manx will take care of it.." Said Yohji slightly smiling, Manx smiled back.
"Arigato Weiss, your one fine team of Assassins.." Manx peered around at each one of the boys, her eyes landing last on Ken and she slowly walked to the boy who had been fairly silent and looked him right in the eye then leaned in and whispered in his ear "If she finds out..I'll assign her death to you personally.."
Ken's eyes widened in shock as he stepped back to look at Manx "H..how did you know?!"
"There are those who are the Assassins…and then there are those who run the Assassins…who really do know everything.." Stated Manx rather calmly before she slowly walked up the stairs leaving Weiss to once again communicate among themselves.
Zeva stood in shock "There..Assasins..e..even Ken.." She heard someone open the front door, and fear stuck her to the ground till she noticed they were headed in the opposite direction. She let out a sigh of relief and slowly unveiled herself from her shadowy wall and looked down the side walk to see Manx walking away. Struck with stupidity and determination, she proceeded to follow Manx as far as she could. Zeva followed Manx quietly, and doing a better than average job of it as well it also helped that she happened to be dressed in all black, except for her cross that glinted off the moonlight. Zeva halted and crouched down behind a bush as she saw Manx suddenly stop, Manx's back facing Zeva.
"You're fairly decent..BUT!" Manx pulled out a small hand gun and pointed it at the bush and squeezed the trigger. Zeva's eyes widened and she leapt in the air, dodging the bullet. She did a semi-circle while she hovered in the air for a few seconds before gravity pulled her back down as she landed in a crouching position. Manx re-located her gun, still pointing it at Zeva whose face stared at the ground, she didn't move a muscle.
"Who are you!" Demanded Manx.
"Will you let me rise, and not shoot?" Questioned Zeva.
Manx was wary in her answer "Hai..stand so I can see you."
Zeva slowly rose and straitened herself up to face Manx, making instant contact with the blue eyes of firey red head, her eyes amethyst. Manx gaped slightly in shock and relaxed her gunpoint.
"You..you almost look like a female version of Aya.." Manx shook her head lightly and stiffened her grip on the gun "Who are you?!"
Zeva's face never changed as she spoke, the wind gently playing with her knee length crimson red wavy hair. "My name is Zeva Varie Andonius.."
Manx's eyes widened in shock "A…Andonius..?! From the-"
"Ambassador Andonius family? Hai..that's me. The "last" remaining member of the family."
Manx relaxed her gun by her side and quirked a brow "So, if I must ask why you did choose to follow me?"
"I want to become a member of Weiss.."
Manx gasped but quickly regained her senses, her eyes tense with anger, gritting her teeth together as she aimed her gun at Zeva and squeezed the trigger. Zeva staggered backwards, holding her now gushing shoulder, she slowly removed her hand from her injured socket to look at the dark substance that stained her ivory flesh. Her long hair stuck the blood that oozed down her arm and she lifted her head looked up to look at Manx who still held the gun in position, her eyes glowing through the shadows of her face.
Zeva cringed and she straitened up again, releasing her other hand from her wound. "What the hell was that for?!"
"Don't worry, I won't kill you. I'll leave that for Ken."
Zeva gritted her teeth, tensing her body and screamed at Manx "I want to become apart of Weiss!"
Manx gripped her gun tighter the single hallow barrel showing no mercy "And what makes YOU think you'd be a good assassin? Besides your acrobatic skills."
"I want to avenge my family! The FBI is considering closing the case because not one clue to lead them to the murderer has appeared! By becoming an assassin I'd be able to gather information the FBI wouldn't!"
"Touching story, really.." Manx turned her back to the wounded girl and relocated her gun inside her jacket "But it takes more than a traumatizing experience to become a good assassin like the men of Weiss."
Zeva cringed and flexed her mussels, blood gushing out from her bullet wound. Her eyes flashed Amber with rage. "You think I don't know that..?"
Manx had begun to walk away "I'm sure you did..your Ken's love interest right? If you really care about him, you'll leave him alone..but that shouldn't be a problem after this night.."
"Alright…" Zeva smirked "I'll show you where my skills lie.." Zeva stuck her unwounded arm strait out and closed her eyes. Heat began to radiate in long, silvery blue streams off her pale skin. Her fingertips starting to glow with a blinding white energy. Manx stopped and slowly turned around to look at Zeva, who had seemed to envelope herself in a mystic light. Manx gaped as she watched her, She curved two of her 3 fingers leaving her thumb, index and middle finger out and connected together. Then suddenly, she shot open her eyes and a once standing metal where-house now stood engulfed in massive flames as metal quickly began to twist, pop and melt. Manx gaped, slightly horrified. Zeva slowly lowered her arm and looked at Manx, smirking.
"Would you like to see me twist the light pole in to a bow..Pyro-Kenetics in fun but Telekinesis…well..you can throw very large objects.." Zeva was being cocky and some might even say egotistical, but the way she saw it, after being shot for possible good reason she had her reason to be this way.
Manx just gaped, she had heard of Schwartz possibly using such things as Telekinesis but she never thought an opportunity like this would come to Weiss. She slowly smiled at Zeva and walked over to her and handed Zeva a piece of paper with all the information she would need for the time being.
"You'll report to Persia first thing tomorrow morning for information on Weiss and training, it takes more than pyro-kenetics and telekinesis to be a good assassin. That paper will tell you how to get to him."
"Hai, Arigato…"
"Manx..my name is Manx. And by the way, I presume Ken told you about Weiss..?"
Zeva smirked "Actually no Manx, you did." With her words Zeva turned on her heel and slowly walked off, leaving a rather confused yet slightly content Manx behind.
