Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ Undistinguished UnderScore ❯ And I distance myself from you ( Chapter 23 )
Ken ran down the side walk, he could see Zeva in the distance and quickened his pace.
"Zeva!" He smiled and waved his arm to catch her attention, he saw her raise her head as he approached and she smiled at his appearance. Ken slowed his pace to a walk as he got closer to her before locking himself in a passionate embrace. "Kon-Ban, Zeva." He tenderly kissed her soft neck, catching a pleasant whiff of the aroma her silky hair emitted. Zeva could feel color rising to her pale cheeks at the feel of Ken's warm lips touching her skin as they hugged but her blush only deepened as she felt Ken's hand leave her waist, the sensation of him tracing her well curved waist line with his fingers made her flinch. She felt his hands move around to her arms, the presence of his fingers seductively trailing down her arms before locking themselves to her hands giving her a sudden rush only to have him top it off with a calm whisper in her ear.
"Shall we go, my lady?"
Zeva smiled and leaned back to peer at his handsome face "Your lady? Well.." She shoved herself away from Ken playfully "You're going to have to do a lot more for me to accept that title." She smiled at him, winking with her words. Ken moved next to her, holding out his arm for to hold onto in a gentleman manner.
"May I escort you, then?" He winked back at her and Zeva grinned, rolling her eyes and shaking her head tossing her crimson waves about.
"How about I escort you?" She stuck out her arm in the fashion that he did his, and raised an eyebrow with a proud beam of a girlish smile. "You've got another thing coming if you think your going to completely be the pants in this relationship." Ken stood dumbfounded, yet amused all the same.
"What's that suppose to mean?" He nonchalantly ran his fingers through his hair, before he found himself at eye level with Zeva who had latched onto his shirt collar.
"That MEANS that I won't be totally submissive, and I don't expect you to be either." Zeva reached up and pecked Ken on the lips before releasing him from her grip. Ken straitened up and smiled down at the emerald orbs that danced with fiery embrace back at him, and once again he lost himself inside of her. Mesmerized with her inner being, not realizing she had slipped her hand in his own and entertained her fingers with his. "Shall we be going?" Ken beamed down at her a smile that radiated the emotions which reflected themselves in Zeva's own eyes. He diligently laced his fingers back with hers and gave her steady hand a soft squeeze, his only reply to her previous question.
They traveled together for sometime, exchanging laughs and love bound glances while the other supposedly wasn't looking until they claimed a soft patch of grass on top of a deserted hill to watch the sun bowed its sleepy head and welcome the silvery luminescence of the moon to take over the fiery orbs watch. A cool, swift breeze lifted the presence of the night as stars began to shimmer against the black canopy of the heavens, Zeva scooted herself closer to Ken and rested her head on his shoulder tenderly.
"Ne, Ken?" Zeva peered lazy at the rising moon in the distance.
"Hai?"
"Have you ever realized just how small you are..When you look up at the night sky, that's so alive of so many things that we still have yet to discover as human beings? You know what's neat to think about? That every single star in the galaxy is a light for every person who has died, living and has yet to be born."
Ken cocked his head to the side at an angle to where he could look down at Zeva who eyed him with bright, deep orbs. She stared back, a look of confusion defining her face, tilting her neck back to peer at him.
"What..?" She shifted her weight and sat up on her knees, holding her hands in her lap her face studying the inner depths of the grass. Though to her surprise she felt Ken's finger casually graces her chin and lead her face to lock to his, his lips forming a boyish smile.
"Are you always this deep?"
Zeva met his boyish smile with a devious grin of her own "When I'm not kicking ass and being a bitch.." She paused to bite her lip in playful thought "Yeah, I guess you could say so." Ken chuckled at her comment and she laughed lightly with him when she surprisingly felt the back of Ken's hand brush her face and she opened her eyes to see him looking at her in a way she had never seen on any man or boy in her entire life. She suddenly felt fear, excited fear sweep over her presence not even realizing Ken had placed some of her loose hair behind her ear.
"You're not a bitch.." His voice carried like the seductive breeze in the glimmer of the night. She froze in disbelief and watched as Ken tilted his head at a welcoming angle and closed his eyes, his fingers weakly leading her lips that needed no guidance to lock with his. Love met with affection was sent like a jolt through each of their bodies, and Zeva wrapped her arms around Ken's shoulders, trailing her fingers along his neck. Ken gently stroked his soft tongue to hers, in an act of exploration. But before he lost himself completely, he slowly broke away from her knowing what he had to do, only to find himself positioned carefully around her delicate form. Zeva's pulse raced and her stomach had the feeling of a steel rollercoaster twisted at all angels inside of her. This adrenaline rush that had seemed to over run them from the inside out and shared with each other turned into a whole new experience for her and secretly for Ken as well. Zeva's crimson hair overlapped pieces of her face as she untangled herself from his warm body and peered at him through deep, wavy strands of hair in an fashion that radiated nothing but pure, innocent love and though Ken would later deny it she knew what she saw reflecting back at her through him.
"Ken..?" Zeva spoke through a mild pant.
"Hai?" Ken stroked her hair out of her face as she sat before him.
She let her head sag as she began to think "What's going to happen to us if and when I become a part of Weiss?"
Ken straitened, his body tensing as he gazed into the emptiness of the night in distance, not wanting to make this sudden transition in the mood. "You'll be like the rest of us then..Killers..Merciless killers, apart of the white cross..You'll shed the same blood and feel the same grief yet express it in your own ways." Ken's expression softened solemnly as he grazed his hand over Zeva's and clamped it shut "And only God knows what will happen to us.." Ken could feel his eyes waver in sorrow and dark memories as he gripped the tender hand that lay under his. "Zeva..I've been meaning to do this all night, even though I don't want too.." He felt her hand twitch under his and Ken watched as she arched her neck down to study the grass, a glimmer of a smile flowing over her face.
"Don't tell me, you want to take a break from each other for awhile so can figure out your feelings for Yuriko. It's obvious she's an old love of yours that left for a destination only you and her know about but you never got any closer, and now she's back you want to figure everything out before you make a mistake you regret."
"Eh?! How did you-"
"It doesn't matter how I know, Ken." Zeva turned her head to look at him directly, her long, textured hair falling elegantly around her soft face that embraced a strong smile. "What matters is that you're willing to take the mature inchoative and figure things out instead of just playing everything out and waiting from someone to get hurt. Trust me, I know a lot of guys who wouldn't even think of making the effort to do what you're willing to." Ken's eye's shook with disbelief, she was so understanding, so calm and indifferent it frightened him.
"Zeva-" He was caught off guard by the placement of her index finger over his lips.
"Don't try to understand, or explain. You'll only confuse yourself further." She smiled at him, her eyes like tainted glass compared to her words, a false smile rearing its artificial head. "You just do what you need to, and don't worry about the other things you know you don't need to." She raised steadily, the grass flattened from where she had sat, she stared into the violet distance, her expression as vast as the nocturnal emptiness the wind combing her hair back. "I've got to get a hold of Manx.." She tilted her head down to meet Ken's abysmal brown eyes a smile wavering through her lips. "She might think I'm still in a coma." Her eyes followed Ken's movements who rose to stand a few inches above her, enough to make her tilt slightly to look at him at the proper angle, he latched his hand around her waist pulling her closer to his chest, wrapping his firm, muscular arms around her curved waist and rested his head on top her calm sea of passionate red.
"Arigato.." He could feel her tremble under him as she breathed into his chest while he held her there in his embrace. He felt her move her hands up to his chest and placed her palms over his toned muscles before pushing herself away from his warm body that provided so much protection from the chilled night are that nipped at her exposed flesh and cut through her clothes. She smiled as she looked at him for the last time that night and did a two fingered salute, winking in the process.
"Anything for a friend."
The next morning felt like a jab to Zeva as she stared into a pool of steady water that was contained in a ceramic cup. She hadn't gone home last night, so she figured Neese would be prowling the streets for her. She had spent hours wondering around aimlessly in the streets, one of her destinations leading her back to the mansion that still reeked with blood and bad memories as she glowered at it through it's thick black security bars from the side walk. Clothed in her attire from last night, her clothes weren't as neat as they had started out, her khaki cargo pants were slightly wrinkled in different areas and her black mid drift shirt no longer clung to her as much as it did the night before. Zeva looked deeply into the cup, as if it held all the answers even though she knew it was filled with nothing more than water. But a pair of focused brown eyes examined her from the counter, concern embracing the image of this mysterious red head, casually she strolled over to Zeva's table.
"Ohayo!" Her voice was light and cheerful as she spoke. Zeva still stared into the wavering reflection in the water, her voice dim and distant.
"Ohayo.."
Kym placed her hands on her hips, a blue sleeveless shirt lining her sternum with black knee capers and sandals to match clothing the rest of her. "Nyo, what's wrong? You seemed pretty blue from over there, but now you just seem down right depressed." Kym slipped into a chair to face Zeva, who finally raised her eyes to meet Kym's.
"What's your name?" Zeva's voice was deep, calm and thoughtful as she glanced over this sudden appearance at her table. Kym grinned in a broad fashion, sticking her hand out in a friendly matter.
"Kym Yume!" Zeva gripped the hand that had been exposed to her and shook it gently only to have her question repeated to her. "What's your name?"
"Zeva…"
"Zeva…is there a last name that goes with that by any chance?"
Zeva closed her eyes and strained herself up "Yes..I have a last name, but I don't speak it often."
Kym titled her head to the side, confusion creeping over her face "Doushite?"
"Because, it's Andonius." Kym's eyed dilated in shock with the mention of the last name.
"You're the remaining Andonius family member?!"
"If that's the way you want to see it, sure."
Kym tapped her chin in thought, raising her eyes to examine the ceiling "Ne! So what's bothering you!"
"What? Oh..nothing.." Zeva turned her attention back to the cup of water in front of her, only to feeling a small tugging on her shirt sleeve, and glanced up to see what Z could perceive as Kym's pissy face of concern.
"Something's bothering you…"
"Are you always persistent with strangers, or am I just lucky?" Zeva smirked through her sarcasm.
Kym beamed "I'm always like this! Even with Aya!"
"Eh? Aya? You know Aya?!"
"Tall, Dark, Sexy, looks pissed off half the time?"
"Yeeeaaahhh…"
"Hai! I know him!" Kym bounced a little in her chair. Zeva leaned in, her attention more focused on having more of a connection with something other than her cup.
"Have you met, a girl named..Yuriko?" Zeva watched Kym tense and her eye twitch with discomfort of Yuriko's name.
"Can I kill her..?"
"Eh? Why would you want to do that?" Zeva finally took a sip of her water as she got more in depth with Kym.
"She called me a little girl.." Kym glowered "She saw me ogle Aya when he wasn't looking and said Aya wouldn't want anything to do a little school girl like me and that I should just go home and stop wasting my time…"
"Well.." Zeva placed her now half empty cup down on the table in a satisfied manner. "She didn't seem all that bad when I met her, but that really was uncalled for. So you have a crush on Aya do you?" An evil grin protruded from Zeva's lips as she laced her fingers together and laid her chin on her fingers as she stared at the rising blush of Kym.
"I..uh..well..yeah see.."
"That's ok, I've got one on Ken."
"OH! So YOU'RE THE sexy red head that Yohji wants to sleep with."
"EH?!!!!"
Kym tapped her chin in thought again "But then again, he wants to sleep with anything that's willing."
"WHO EVER SAID I WAS WILLING?!"
"Eh heh..well would it make you feel better if I said Ken wanted to sleep with you too?"
"..how do you expect me to respond to THAT?!"
"OH! So you DO wanna sleep with Ken! I'll go tell him now!"
"EH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Kym spoke to herself as she attempted to rise out of her chair "Maybe this will keep him from reproducing with Yuriko! ..but then again he is male.." she gasped in horror "WHAT IF HE WANTS A 3 SOME?!!!!" Zeva twitched at the sound of Kym's thoughts.
"What goes on inside your head..?"
Kym smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her head "Too much.."
"Obviously..but you shouldn't trouble yourself with Ken for me." Kym flumped back down into her chair a depressed look crossing over her eyes.
"Why?"
"Ken wants to take a break from each other for awhile, so he can figure out his feelings for Yuriko."
Kym popped her knuckles and smiled self sufficantly"I'll help him figure out his feelings for Yuriko..heh..heh..heh.."
"Remind me never to cross you.."
"I'm innocent I swear!"
"Yeah, about as much as a pissed off hornet out to kill."
"Dose it show?" Kym batted her eye lashes teasingly.
Zeva pinched her fingers together and smiled "Just a little."
"Well.." Kym leaned back in her seat and folded her arms "I came to the conclusion a long time ago that men are idiots.."
"YO! KYM!!"
Zeva mimicked Kym's movement and closed her eyes "Speaking of men.." With a mild slam on the table, Zeva and Kym glanced up to see this distinguishable face of Yohji who peered at them through lowered sun-glasses.
"Ohayo, Yohji." Kym smiled lightly up at Yohji.
"Yo Zeva! What's goin' on?" Yohji placed a hand on her pale shoulder.
"Not to much, Yohji. Except Kym filled me on your exotic fantasies." Zeva smugly took a sip of her water as she felt Yohji moved in closer to her, looking down at he with seductive blue eyes.
"Who ever said they were fantasies?" Yohji attempted to creep an arm around Zeva's shoulders, only to have her scoot her chair farther away.
"Zeva Varie Andonius!" The voice was all to formillar, Neese stood in the doorway of the coffee shop dressed in black pants, black sleeveless shirt with boots, leather biker gloves and a leather jacket to match. A thin, sleek, black strap loosely hanging off her pale shoulder with Yohji ogling the lingerie strap that tempted him so. She stepped forward to Zeva's table "Where have you been?! I've been prowling the streets for hours because YOU didn't come home last night!"
"Whoa! Zeva didn't come home last night? Neither did Ken!" Yohji leaned into Zeva "So..what did you TWO do last night?"
Zeva flexed her muscles gripping the side of her cup fiercely "If your so interested why don't YOU go ask him yourself!"
Yohji hunkered down on the table in timid fear "Because he throws things like you do.." Zeva guzzled down the last of her water and slammed her cup back down on the table and rose placing her arms through her trench coat.
"Now wait just a damn minute!" Neese grabbed onto the tail end of Zeva's jacket and glared intensely "I've been looking all over for you and you're just going to walk out on me?!" Zeva's only response was the still look in her eyes as she felt Neese's grip loosen from the dark leather.
"I'll be home later, I've got another appointment to attend." She shifted her body to where her back was completely rotated to face Neese and the others before she walked out of the door and down the street where she would meet Manx.
