Unsinnige Spiele ~ Part VII ~

You took your coat off and stood in the rain
You were always crazy like that...

Mission completed.

Aya pulled Yohji closer to his side and tightened his embrace around the slender body of his lover. He felt Yohji snuggling closer and a soft smile played over his lips. Yeah, his mission was completed. The reason for his focus and determination, the very reason to stay alive and keep on going, had suddenly ceased to exist - once again. What would be his reason for living now?
"Damn... It's raining, again..." Warm breath fanned over Aya's chest as Yohji spoke.
Aya chuckled softly, evoking a surprised sound from Yohji. "Looks like you won't be able to go for a ride in your convertible, once again." His dark voice teased. Hard to believe that a stupid train of thought like that had triggered all this.
"Pah!" Yohji snorted and pulled from Aya's embrace. Ignoring his lover's protest, the tall slender man left the bed and threw on his clothes, and before Aya knew it, Yohji was out the door. Amethyst eyes blinked in surprise and stared at the open doorway, then flame-red eyebrows drew together and Aya sat up.
He won't... With a groan Aya got up and moved to the window, leaning against the frame. He knew that Yohji's beloved convertible was at a friend's place to get fixed. Yohji was crazy enough to go and get it right now... Only a few moments later Yohji appeared on the street, pulling his coat tighter around him in the driving rain. He got into the Jeep and drove off. "Great..." Aya turned away and got dressed, then settled on the windowsill.

Yohji felt like he was drunk, or high, or both. Except for the car he was in, the fact that he was driving himself and that he had no woman with him, it almost felt like deja-vu. Like that night he drove home through the rain, got our of the car and saw Aya sitting at his window. A smile crept over his lips. Aya had been waiting for him to come home, he was sure of that now. Then he groaned. And he had acted like a fool... insensitive idiot, talking about the weather... If he had only known...
It didn't matter anymore. The smile returned. No, it really didn't matter anymore.
If Aya would be waiting again? Sitting on the windowsill, staring out into the rain? Giddy anticipation took hold of him and he sped up.

A car pulled up and stopped in front of the house, but the engine wasn't turned off. Aya frowned, violet eyes squinting to make out the car in the rain and uncertain lighting. The door on the driver's side swung open and he watched Yohji step out of the car, into the rain. Watched him as he yanked off his coat and threw his head back, laughing, rain splattering on his face. Aya swallowed. Deja-vu.
But this time Yohji was clearly, pointedly looking up at him, waving his arms, beckoning him. Aya straightened up. Only a moment's hesitation, then he rushed out of the apartment and down the stairs. That crazy idiot! He would catch death! By the time the redhead had made his way down and out of the building, Yohji had opened the cover of the convertible. Aya stopped short and stared at the car, then at Yohji.
He just laughed. "I said I wanna go for a ride and I will! Fuck the rain!" He jumped in the car, then extended a hand to Aya. "Wanna come?"
For a moment Aya just stood there. Then a soft smile spread over his face. "You're crazy."
"Yeah..." Yohji just replied, suddenly turning very serious. "And you're the one to keep me grounded."
Slowly Aya climbed into the car beside Yohji, violet gaze never leaving the other's jade eyes. He reached out and gently took Yohji's face into his hands, then leaned in close for a soft kiss. "I will."

New mission accepted.

Foolish Games
by Jewel

You took your coat off, and stood in the rain
You were always crazy like that
And I watched from my window
Always felt I was outside, looking in, on you
You were always the mysterious one with dark eyes and careless hair
You were, fashionably sensitive, but too cool to care
You stood in my doorway, with nothing to say
Besides some comment on the weather
Well in case you failed to notice, in case you failed to see
This is my heart bleeding before you, this is me down on my knees

These foolish games are tearing me apart
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart
You're breaking my heart

You were always brilliant in the morning
Smoking your cigarettes, and talking over coffee
You're philosophies on art, baroque moved you
You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones
As I clumsily strummed my guitar
Well excuse me, guess I've mistaken you for somebody else
Somebody who gave a damn, somebody more like myself

These foolish games are tearing me, tearing me, you're tearing me apart
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart
You're breaking my heart

You took your coat off and stood in the rain
You were always crazy like that...
