Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ Voids ❯ Chapter 1

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

Disclaimer: I do not own the Weiß boys. They belong to Koyasu-sama and Project Weiß. But I wouldn't argue if anyone wanted to give me a Yohji for my birthday...

The characters might be slightly OOC because of the whole idea of this thing being AU. I'm trying not to do that though.

"Parallel 12, Hidaka Ken." The computer screen flashed up a picture and a bio. "Parallel 23, Tsuyiono Omi." The information flashed up again.

"Omi hasn't changed." The red haired woman smiled.

The dark haired woman glanced at her colleague. "He isn't this world's Omi, don't treat him like he is."

Manx sighed and crossed her arms. I know. It's just to have him-"

Birman cut her off. "No. This Omi never had any connections with your alternate self." She clicked the mouse again. "Parallel 65, Fujimiya Ran."

"Was he the most difficult to locate?" Manx asked.

Birman nodded. "65 different worlds before we found him." The picture of the red head vanished and one of a blonde showed up. "Parallel 13, Kudoh Yohji."

"I've brought Kudoh here already. He's settling into his place nicely."

"I'm surprised he's handling this well. At least he can help with the other three. Let's make him the temporary team leader. Once the others get settles, we can pick a permanent team leader." Birman turned her computer off and looked to her colleague. "Kudoh has been here for a week. Let's start bringing the others so we can get to the briefing."

Mand nodded. "We should hurry. Something big is going to happen unless Weiß is here to stop it."

"Omi-kun!" The dark haired girl ran up to the blonde boy, carrying a school book in one hand. "You forgot this." She shifted her book bag on her shoulder and handed the book t her brother.

"Arigato, Ouka-chan." He smiled at his sister and they proceeded to head to school. He knew this would be the last time he saw her, the last time he was with his sister, Ouka.

They walked in silence the rest of the way to the high school they both attended. Ouka was happily chattering about what was happening in her classes that day. Sadness flashed across his face. He knew it had been his choice. The woman, Manx was what she called herself, had told him that they would find another. There wasn't any reason for him to leave this world. If it hadn't been for him pressing the woman about her presence, he wouldn't have even known about what she and a colleague were doing. He volunteered after hearing her out. Manx had tried to get him to back out but he wouldn't. A few words mumbled by his grandfather when the man was on his death bed prevented him from refusing.

"Ouka-chan." The dark haired girl looked to him. "I want you to promise never to forget me and never to mourn me." The girl blinked at him and tried to speak but the boy stopped her. "I'm following what grandfather told me to do. The opportunity presented itself and I'm taking it."

"When are you leaving?" Ouka-chan asked. She stared at her brother, her voice quavering slightly.

"Very soon. Remember what I said, please. Tell mother I'm doing it, I'm finally able to keep my promise to grandfather." He smiled at his sister.

"Hai. I promise... I love you Omi-kun." She threw her arms around him and hugged him. "I'll miss you."

"I'll never forget you..." His smile saddened as he released her from the hug. He turned, waving as he hurried off to meet Manx.

Ken dropped from the roof of the building, trying to escape the people pursuing him. They were relentless. A gun scattered bullets in his wake as he dodged to a column.

"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty," a voice purred. "Come out and play and maybe I'll let you live to play another day." The voice let out a harsh laugh before going silent again.

"Like hell, Berserker," the brunette mumbled and made a wild dash for the edge of the roof top he had dropped to. He leapt, barely making it to the fire escape.

"Playing with the kitty hurts God," Berserker rambled before laughing again.

Ken shivered and made his way down the fire escape. He entered the empty warehouse, stopping dead in his tracks at the woman with the red hair in front of him. "Who are you?"

The woman smiled. "Manx. I've been looking for you, Hidaka Ken. I have an offer to make you."

"I don't have time for this,' he growled and raised his bugnuks to the woman.

"In three minutes, Berserker will burst through the window above," she motioned upwards," and proceed to `play with the kitty.' I suggest you listen to what I have to say or else it is very likely that your employer will get his wish and your former colleague will get to hurt God for as long as you last." She folded her amrs across her chest and stared at the brunette.

Ken sheathed his bugnuks and studied the woman. It wouldn't hurt to take a chance and listen to her. "Ok, Manx, you've got two minutes."

It wasn't fair. He slammed a pale fist into the wall then cursed. There was nothing left for him and he knew it. The only reason he had lasted this long was the memories. If he was gone, who was going to remember Aya-chan?

Violet eyes stared at the hand he just bruised by punching the wall. The pain was real, both emotional and physical. All he wanted was for it to end, all of it. His gaze shifted to the katana sitting on the table across the room. The blade had brought the end to many live so what difference would one last life make?

"Fujimiya-san, I would ask that you refrain from taking your life," the feminine voice cut through the silent room.

Aya lunged for his katana, reaching the weapon. He turned to attack the woman but saw a gun pointed at his head. He glared at her. "What do you want?"

"A moment of your time. I have a proposition for you. Instead of killing yourself, I want to ask for your help." She never lowered her weapon, her eyes trained on the swordsman.

"Help? You want my help? Look, whoever you are, there is nothing left for me. Now, leave so I can finally be with my sister again." He lowered his katana to his side and moved to turn away.

"Fujimiya-san. I'm asking you to prevent what happened to you from happening again. There is a void that needs to be filled and you are out last piece." She paused as he stopped walking away from her. "Weiß is being put together, not on this world, on another. I know you lost Aya-chan a little over a year ago. On my world, she is alive but you are dead. It Weiß is not brought together, she and many other will die."

The silence that stretched between the pale man and the woman went on for a while. Finally, Fujimiya turned and met the woman's gaze. At that she lowered her weapon. "I'll join Weiß."

Birman stood in the hallway, waiting for Manx to return with Fujimiya. Kudoh, Tsuyinono, and Hidaka were all inside the conference room.

She sighed and shifted her gaze to the door to the conference room. Kudoh, she had gotten used to by now but there was something about him. Whatever it was, it had to be her old psychology classes bring it to her attention. The blonde would smile and flirt but Birman knew there was something behind that playboy mask.

Hidaka handled himself decently. His life had been ruined but he seemed to be able to still smile. He had proved that upon meeting Omi. There was a quality of sadness to him but he was dedicated to Weiß's cause.

Tsuyiono was the volunteer. Being the youngest among the assassin group, he was also the calmest. Coming from his world to this had been a big change but he was handling it well. His personality showed him as reliable and loyal. Weiß was his destiny.

Glancing at her watch, she turned and walking into the conference room. Kudoh had his feet up on the table, which she shoved off as she passed. Omi and Ken were talking quietly. "Manx should be here soon with the last member."

Yohji raised an eyebrow and let his ever-present sunglasses slide down his nose. Green eyes focused on the brunette. "Last member? I was told that this team was going to be a three man team."

Birman gazed back at him. "There was one last void to fill after we found you three. Something didn't work out until I found this last person. He compliments your skills as Hidaka-san does Tsuyiono-san's."

The door opened, drawing the entire room's attention. Manx stepped in first, followed by a red head. The red head remained silent as Manx walked to Birman.

Yohji wasn't paying any attention to the women, or anyone else in the room. He had pushed his sunglasses back up to cover his jade green eyes. His hair fell in front of his face. Seeing the red head had brought back the memories of a few things he didn't want to have to remember.

Omi was trying to get the red head to talk to him but was failing miserably as he was ignored.

Ken didn't bother. He just fell silent when Manx had entered and hadn't spoken since. His gaze shifted to the murmuring Manx and Birman.

After a few minutes, both women turned to the assassins. "This world is in need of help. Several years ago, there was an attempt to put together a group to put a stop to this world's dark fate. That group was Kritkir. Less than a month after Kritkir formed, it dissolved after its leader was killed." Birman stopped speaking to study her audience. Kudoh had not moved, Omi and Ken were watching her intently as she spoke, and Fujimiya was leaning against the wall, his gaze down.

Manx watched the red headed swordsman as she picked up where Birman left off. "With his death, there was no one to hold Kritkir together. The problem still remains and Weiß is the solution. On your worlds, each of you were near death, Tsuyiono-san being the only exception. Each of you had played out your usefulness there so we've asked you to help here." She paused.

"So what happened to us on this world? Or is there another Ken here?" The former soccer player asked.

"Hidaka-san. On this world, you died in a plane crash with your soccer team while on your way to the Tokyo Nationals. Soccer fans all over the world still mourn the team's loss." Ken looked shocked. He had died a star here. "Omi. You were kidnapped when you where little. Your uncle refused to pay your ransom. You died the night your father was murdered." Manx's voice faltered slightly as she mentioned the word father. Persia, the leader of Kritkir, had also been Omi's father.

"Fujimya-"

"Aya," the swordsman spoke quickly. Manx gave him a puzzled look. He just stared back at her, his face expressionless.

"Fujimiya Aya. On your sister's birthday, you came home late to find your parents and sister already on their way to dinner. As you went to leave, Takatori showed up to plant a bomb. You struggled with him and the bomb went off. You died in the emergency room the next morning. Your sister is still alive and working as a detective with the police." Aya's face still remained expressionless but his gave him away. "Last. The night Asuka figured out where that girl was," she spoke to Yohji," you rushed off to rescue her. Asuka was behind you. You never made it out of the building alive. Asuka is now a detective with the police too. She and Aya's sister are partners."

"Kudoh Yohji," the blonde mumbled. Aya looked up.

"What?" Manx asked, puzzled.

"You never told them my name. It's Kudoh Yohji." He looked up, pulling his sunglasses off to reveal his face. He glanced at Omi and Ken before turning to look at Aya.

Aya's face took on an expression of disbelief that quickly changed to blazing anger. "You!" He lunged at the blonde, causing Yohji to tip over his chair. The red head ended up on top of him, hands at the older man's throat.

Birman immediately hurried forward, trying to pull the red head off of the playboy. "Fujimiya! It's not him. This man is different. Fujimiya-san, let him go!" She knew this was the reason Manx hadn't said his name.

Yohji tried to get Aya off of him but was failing miserably. Manx had asked him to leave his weapon behind and he did so. Green eyes shifted to Omi and Ken who were rushing towards them. Then, the jade green eyes moved to amethyst colored optics and locked on.

Aya focused on Yohji's eyes. His grip loosened then let go as he stared into them. The swordsman saw something there, something that made him curious. It was something he had never seen in those eyes before. "You're not him," he whispered.

The blonde was gasping for air. It was a few moments before he could speak. "No, I'm not."

Birman, Omi, and Ken stopped their attempts to get Aya off of Yohji and watched the two. Aya climbed off of the blonde. "Gomen..." he spoke then left the room.

Yohji looked to Manx as he sat up rubbing his neck. "Now I know who to ask if I ever need my ass kicked..." he mumbled.
