We've got tonight

by evil Jy

It was a beautiful night. The stars bright in the clear sky. The air still warm after a hot summer day, but refreshing none the less. Faint noises from the city could be heard, speaking of life and hope and joy. It could have been a perfect night, a night of adventures and delicious sins.

Yoji sat alone on the roof, smoking one of his ever present cigarettes. On every other night like this, he would be down there, in the city he could observe from his place on the ledge. Melding with the people, flirting, drinking, dancing and looking for someone to warm his bed.

But not tonight. He wasn't in the mood for light hearted Smalltalk, for his carefree-playboy act or the company of people who were blind from the dangers in their lives. He couldn't act as if nothing was wrong. Too fresh was the memory of the last mission Weiss had accomplished. The problem wasn't so much the new deaths at his hands; he was used to the carnage, he and his teammates left behind, by now. Sure he had his occasional nightmares, visions of blood on his hands, that wouldn't go away, moments of unbearable guilt, but he had learnt to live with it and to not let it interfere with his other life and his free time activities.

However, after what he had seen today, his stomach still threatened to turn at the thought alone. He couldn't get the images out of his head, an uncounted number of bodies, boys and girls, children even, displayed in a sea of blood. They had been broken, brutally raped, abused and whipped among other things; things Yoji would never want to think about. It was one of those times, where ignorance really was bliss. But he had seen and he couldn't forget. Not so easily and not so fast.

The sound of the roof door opening startled Yoji out of his thoughts. He had hoped to have this place to himself, at least for a few hours. With a soft sigh he turned his head to see who dared to disturbed his sacred time.

Aya was silently stepping through the doorway and onto the roof. He seemed to be deep in his own thoughts, which explained why he hadn't noticed Yoji yet, despite that the blond was sitting on the ledge and the starlight illuminating the place. What unusual behavior for the field leader of Weiss.

Maybe Aya isn't as untouchable as he wants to make us believe. Could it be that the last mission stirred him as much up as it did me? Well, at least enough for him becoming inattentive to his surroundings. Usually it takes a Takatori to accomplish that.

And as if the name alone was like a signal lamp, although unspoken, the red head looked up to meet Yoji's eyes and halted in his tracks. Aya hesitated for a moment, it was clear he hadn't expected to meet anyone here, least of all Yoji. Then he reached for the door again.

"Don't go, Aya. There is no reason to do so. There's enough room for both of us and be assured I'm not in the mood for meaningless chatter, either."

Aya didn't leave immediately but he stayed where he was, looking at Yoji, with his expressionless mask intact and waited.

Yoji didn't really know for what Aya was waiting or why he, Yoji, wanted him to stay. He just knew he did. "Here see, I even put my cigarette out and I won't light one as long as you're here. See it as a chance to liberate me from one of my bad habits," he said with a light grin.

Surprisingly enough that seemed to convince the red head. Without another delay he made his way to the ledge and sat down beside Yoji.

They didn't talk, both looking at the city lights below or the stars above them.

It was Aya who broke the silence, quite unexpectedly for Yoji. "Why are you here, Yoji?"

"What?"

Aya glared at him, impatient, "I asked why you're here, on the roof and not clubbing."

"Oh, well... I just couldn't." Yoji sighed, "Not after today's mission. I don't want to pretend tonight. The kids in the clubs, they don't know what's happening around them, they don't understand what atrocities are being committed every day and night. To hear about some stuff on the news, it's not the same. Even if I could explain it to them, they wouldn't understand. And to be true, I wouldn't want to rob them of their illusions. But I just can't pretend that everything is alright. Not today. Shit, they were just a bunch of children, they couldn't have done anything to deserve this. Death alone isn't enough for the bastards who did this.

I'm not up to drinking, dancing and flirting right now, it takes too much effort to be happy."

Aya cocked an eyebrow at that, "Since when is it too much effort for you to be a slut?"

"Since when are you interested in my reasons? We aren't on a mission, are we? So why do you care? Or are you just miffed that I didn't jump from the ledge to leave the roof alone for you?" Yoji snapped. Aya's comment had hurt. Badly so. Did they all really think him so shallow? Sure, he flirted with everything on two legs and had a witty comment for every situation ready, but everyone had his own way to cope and the playboy act was his. That didn't mean he felt no remorse or didn't think of the horrors they had seen and done. But what was the good in dwelling in one's own misery? None of them had a choice in this matter, Kritiker whistled and they jumped. They didn't have to like it, nobody was interested in their opinion on that matter.

So what was so wrong with it, when he liked to flirt and had a different partner every night? He wasn't meant to sleep in a cold bed, he needed human contact. Aya might be an iceberg and quite content with being alone and untouchable, but not Kudou Yoji.

It was still better than falling in love and endangering oneself and the significant other. Non of Weiss could come really close to anyone out of the team. It was impossible, they had too many enemies and Kritiker would never go for it. It threatened the safety of the organization.

That was why he hadn't gone clubbing tonight. He knew the urge to confide in someone would be too great to resist. To let loose for once, so he wouldn't be alone with the image of the slaughtered children anymore. But he couldn't risk that. Not with anyone who wasn't Weiss.

So he had sat alone on the roof of the Koneko. Aya's appearance had been a pleasant surprise. Yoji had hoped it would make it all a bit easier to bear. To have someone at his side who knew, even if they didn't actually talk about it. But he hadn't reckoned with Aya's enquiry or his snide remark.

Hell, what else was I to expect of our ice prince, Aya. He doesn't do emotions. Oh, I'm sure he has feelings, too, just as everyone else of us does. Only does he think of them as a weakness, something to stifle at the first sign...

"Sorry." The word was spoken so soft, Yoji nearly missed it entirely and still couldn't believe what he might have heard. He looked wide eyed at Aya, bewildered.

Aya didn't really know what to do with Yoji's reaction or lack of it. To excuse his actions wasn't something Aya often did. Well, never was more like it. He also wasn't very good with words, never had been, not even when he'd still been Ran, but he knew he had made a mistake and the least he could do was to try.

"I... I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. It's is really none of my business what you do after missions, as long as you don't do anything to jeopardize the team. You haven't before. I'm sorry."

Yoji was still stunned. That was so not Aya-like to say sorry, to admit to having made a mistake.

As Yoji stayed silent, Aya stood up, intending to leave, but was suddenly restrained by a hand grabbing his wrist. Aya turned again, to look down at the blond, still seated at the roof edge.

"Why don't you stay? Please, Aya."

Now it was Aya's place to be confused. He had thought the blond angry at him, yet the look Yoji gave him was free of all anger or hatred.

"I don't understand, I thought you would..."

"Don't, Aya, just sit down again, would you? Let's keep each other company. Neither of us needs or wants to be alone tonight." Yoji gave Aya a meaningful look. He understood what was happening, Aya's distraction earlier, his willingness to endure Yoji's presence before, his harsh response and the excuse. The mission had affected Aya as much as it had Yoji, maybe even more.

Aya-chan... Yoji hadn't thought about Aya's younger sister. Had Aya seen his sister in the victims? Yoji couldn't comprehend how hard that must be on the red head, the horror, the paralyzing fear. No, he couldn't really empathize how Aya felt.

"Just stay with me." He tugged again on a slender wrist and finally, Aya settled down again.

He looked at Yoji, trying to read what was going on in his head. Yoji hadn't let go of Aya's wrist yet and the red head didn't know if he wanted him to. The contact felt... nice. He didn't allow himself much contact anymore these days. To feel Yoji's warm hand, a pleasant heat slowly creeping into his body from this small point of contact, was something the field leader of Weiss hadn't felt for quite some time. Simple human contact, compassion even, there were times Aya wished for such things. He needed his shields of ice to survive, but that didn't mean he liked them. He just didn't know a way around them anymore.

Yoji didn't just hold Aya's wrist now but had begun to stroke the soft skin with his thumb. He didn't look at Aya but up at the star filled sky.

He was confused, Aya knew something was going on, but he couldn't understand what. What was Yoji doing to him? Why wasn't he resisting?

"Calm down, Aya, relax. Look at the stars so far away, aren't they beautiful?"

And he did look up. Yoji was right, the sight was breath taking. No cloud obscured the sky, the thousand flecks of light shone brightly, illuminating the world under them. Aya had always loved this feeling of endlessness this picture awoke in him. It didn't mean endless pain and suffering or loneliness, but it radiated a sense of calm for him. The stars had no emotion, they knew no tragedy.

A cold breeze brushed Aya's skin and made him shiver. The next thing he was aware of, was Yoji's arm around his shoulders, dragging him closer to the blonde's own warm body... and Aya let him. The goose bums on his arms weren't from the cold alone anymore. What the hell is happening here? He started to tremble.

"Shhh, Aya, it's okay." Soft lips touched his temple.

"Yoji, what..."

"Don't think, Aya, not tonight. Just relax and enjoy. For once do what your heart tells you. Don't think about consequences, because there aren't any. Not for tonight, I promise you." Yoji's emerald eyes shone with sincerity and affection, it almost frightened Aya. Almost. Instead he felt the warm spread further through his body, melting the ice. Just for tonight. No one will care. And with that Aya leant into his teammates touch, accepting the small caresses of soft lips on his face.

He sighted with contentment as the lips traveled from his temple to his cheekbone, along his jaw line and down his throat. He titled his head to give Yoji better access. It was all so surreal to Aya, sitting at night on the roof, in the arms of Kudou Yoji, while his teammate nibbled at his neck. He didn't knew any other place he wished to be more right this very moment.

Yoji could feel him relax finally. How with the slight tremble the tension fled the lean body in the circle of his arms. That was what he had been waiting for. Carefully he placed his lips on pliant ones. Exercising only the barest of pressure before he begun to outline them with his wet tongue. Stroking, teasing them, coercing them to open, like the sun coerced a flower to blossom.

With a slight moan Aya parted his lips, admitting entrance to Yoji's questioning tongue. He put his arms around the blondes neck, one hand combing through the soft locks, dragging him even closer, sealing their lips together. It was heaven for Aya.

Yoji was the first to break the kiss, both breathless and flushed. He leant forward again, close to the red heads ear. "I want you, I need you," he whispered to Aya, "but not up here, let's go downstairs." The next second he was up and dragged the stunned man with him.

Before Aya could think twice they were down the stairs and in front of Yoji's room, where they stopped for another round of heated kisses, while Yoji fumbled with the doorknob. As the door opened the two almost fell into the room, only their quick reflexes holding them upright, clinging to the doorframe and each other.

They didn't linger long in the doorway, the bed was too close and a much more comfortable place. Kicking the door shut, Yoji led his soon-to-be lover to the bed, never breaking their kiss. He loved the feel of Aya's mouth on his. He couldn't believe he hadn't tried this earlier. The red head was so beautiful and unique, like the stars they had watched from the roof.

Their clothes were done away with quickly, both eager to feel each others skin beneath their exploring hands and lips. Star light illuminated the two figures, standing before the bed; their low moans and groans the only sound in the room.

Carefully they sank down on the bed, Aya on his back and Yoji on top of him. Slowly the blond kissed his way down a pale chest, teasing the navel with his tongue, dipping in.

"Yoji… p-please…"

"Soon, no reason to hurry."

"Don't… don't tease!", Aya's voice was breathless. Yoji had to smile, proud that he was the reason, their field leader was in this state. But he, too, was eager to continue, a special goal before him.

A barely muffled shout vibrated through the room, as Yoji took Aya in his moth, swallowing him whole. The red head arched his back, trying to get deeper into the wet heat which engulfed his arching cock. The rhythm with which Yoji moved on him was too slow, it wasn't satisfying, only increasing his wish of fulfillment, without letting him achieve it. He began to growl in frustration. Instead of speeding up, Yoji let his cock slip out of the wet heaven.

"Impatient, aren't we?"

That made Aya growl even louder, now clearly frustrated with how things went. "I told you, not to tease me!" He snapped.

"I would never do such… but I have something even better in mind for you." The smug look on his teammate's face troubled Aya a bit, but all worry was instantly forgotten as Yoji made his way back up his body, rubbing sensitive skin against skin. He couldn't help but moan.

Yoji fastened his mouth on Aya's, drinking in the small sweet noises the read head made. With his left hand he began to rummage in his nightstand, searching, while he pressed his right between their bodies and continued to slowly stroke Aya's manhood, earning even more soft moans. His fingers closing around a small container made Yoji smile with anticipation. He opened it one handed and tipped fingers in, coating them with the smooth salve.

Aya cried out as one slick digit encircled his entrance and after a moment slowly penetrated him. He raised his hip, welcoming the intimate touch, wanting more of it. His wish was fulfilled as a second finger joined its partner, stretching him and covering his insides with the wet salve. He gasped when the fingers were removed, leaving him achingly empty. Only to shudder as he felt the tip of Yoji's cock pressing past the tight ring of his anus, driving with one smooth movement into him, filling him till he thought he would burst. Pain blossomed along his spin, but as soon as Yoji began to move in him, it transformed in to earth shattering pleasure, all discomfort quickly forgotten.

Yoji was panting above him, eyes closed in concentration. Suddenly he changed the angle in which he was pounding into his lover, making Aya cry out loud as he hit the sweet spot deep in him.

Stars burst behind his eyes, as Yoji's cock again and again brushed his prostate, more and more small cries escaped him. He wrapped his legs tight around Yoji's hips and his arms around the blond's neck, pulling him down for a passionate kiss.

Their rhythm increased and Yoji began to stroke Aya in time. Sharpe nails scratched down his back, mixing pain and pleasure in a delicious combination. He felt Aya tighten around him, before the red head let a last hoarse shout free, coming all over his belly and Yoji's hand.

That pushed Yoji over the edge. One more time did he drove into the tight heat which was Aya, before he, too, came with a cry of ecstasy, filling his lover with his hot semen.

Exhausted Yoji dropt on top of Aya, for the moment contend with breathing alone, all his muscles slack. He opened his eyes to look at his lover. Aya's lips were parted, his red bangs plastered to his forehead, sweat glistering on his face. Heavy lids slowly opened, exposing deep amethyst eyes, the pupils still dilated.

"You are heavy." There was a smile in Aya's voice and satisfaction. Yoji grinned, diving down to steal another kiss, before he slipped out of his lover and rolled to his side, curling up next to Aya. He dragged the sheets up to cover them both. Aya turned around to face him completely, snuggling closer to the blond.

"Thank you, Yoji." He tugged one of Yoji's arm around his own waist, pressing them closer together, enjoying the contact. He buried a hand in Yoji's blond mane, pulling the head down to ravish his swollen lips with a kiss. It was sweet and long, all urgency gone. They only broke apart, when the need for air couldn't be ignored anymore.

"You're welcome, Aya." Responded Yoji a bit delayed and breathless. He dropped one last kiss on his lover's brow, then tucked the head under his chin, settling deeper into the pillows, bone tired. "Sleep well."

"Good night."

Faintly music could be heard, the soft tunes drifting through the open window on a summer breeze.

I know it's late, I know you're weary

I know your plans don't include me

Still here we are, both of us lonely

Longing for shelter from all that we see

Why should we worry, no one will care

Look at the stars so far away

We've got tonight

Who needs tomorrow?

We've got tonight

Why don't you stay?

Deep in my soul, I've been so lonely

All of my hopes, fading away

I've longed for love, like everyone else does

I know I'll keep searching, even after today

So that there it is

We've got it all now

And here we are

What do you say?

We've got tonight

Who needs tomorrow?

We've got tonight

Why don't you stay?

I know it's late, I know you're weary

I know your plans don't include me

Still here we are, both of us lonely

Both of us lonely

We've got tonight

Who needs tomorrow?

Let's make it last

Let's find a way

Turn out the light

Come take my hand now

We've got tonight

Why don't you stay?

Why don't you stay?
