What if
Chapter7: Lost Takatori found
By Yami Kitsune
Youji was waiting outside for Ken and Aya to finish with the target. Ken and Aya had split up so they could find Himafori faster. Aya walked down the hall until he came to an office. He looked in but didn't see the target there; he was just about to leave when he saw something on the desk that caught his attention. Walking over he picked up the picture there and stared at it. His eyes narrowed when he saw it was a picture of the Takatori family.
His eyes scanned over the people in the picture. His eyes stopped when he saw the little boy being held by the woman. He dropped the picture back on the desk and stared at the boy with wide eyes. `There is no way that's him!' Aya thought. The boy in the picture looked a lot like Omi.
Aya shook his head, it was just a coincidence, Omi wasn't a Takatori. `But he doesn't remember his past…so he might be…' a voice in the back of his head said. The same voice that wanted him to seek revenge on Takatori for killing his parents and putting his sister in a coma. `But Omi?' Aya shook his head to clear his thoughts. He would think about this latter, right now he had to find Himafori and kill him.

Youji was leaning against the tree waiting for the other two to come out when he saw someone come running out and get into a limo. There was only one person that could be, Himafori. Youji cursed and tried to catch him before he got into the car but he was to late.
"Damn, Aya's ganna be pissed." He said under his breath. Sighing he turned on his ear peace.
<Hey guys, I just saw the target get into his car.>
<Did you catch him?> Aya answered back. Youji sighed, it just had to be Aya who answered him.
<No he got away. We'll have to make the hit to a different night.> He heard Aya sigh on the other end.
<All right. Me and Ken are on are way out.> Youji was surprised that Aya hadn't yelled at him over the ear peace. But then again, he was probably waiting to yell at him once they got back to the koneko. Youji shrugged it off and went back to the car to wait for the other two to come out.

Back at the koneko Omi had gotten a little board with the laptop. (Omi board with a computer!? Yeah right!) He went down stairs to see if there was any thing to do down there. He didn't know when the others would be back, and it was kind of lonely here by himself.
As Omi walked around the apartment he realized how much the place was a mess. In the kitchen there were some bear bottles still on the counter from when Youji had been drinking early that day. Omi decided to pass the time by picking up the place a little bit, make himself more useful.
Omi went back up stairs and went into Aya's room to see if he had any CD's for him to listen to while he was cleaning. He didn't find any thing and frowned. He went out of the room and decided to look in Youji's room but then stopped. He didn't want to know what kind of music the playboy listened to.
He decided his best bet in music was to see what kind Ken had in his room. He opened the door to Ken's room and looked around. Ken was really obsessed with soccer; he had soccer sheets and curtains. He even had a soccer rug right next to his bed. Omi walked into the room and walked over to the small stack of CD's on the desk next to the radio.
Most of the CD's didn't look to good, and Omi didn't know the songs. He reached the bottom of the small pile and smiled at the CD there. It was an American CD by some one named Heather Small. He picked up and read the songs on the back. He smiled when he saw the song `Proud.'
His friend back in America had loved that song and listened to it over and over. Omi opened up the case and took out the CD and ran back down stairs to put it in. He put the song on and pushed the repeat button so it would play that one song.
He smiled when the song came on. He turned it up and went into the kitchen to pick that up first.

Aya and the others got back to the koneko. He was a little pissed at Youji that he let Himafori escape but he would deal with that latter.
"I can't believe I broke a date tonight just to sit around and do nothing." Youji complained as he waked up stairs to his room. When they got inside they heard music playing. Ken recognized the song from one of his CD's. He walked into the living room and turned it off. When he turned around he saw Aya standing by the couch looking down at a sleeping Omi.
Aya stared at Omi his thoughts on the picture he had found earlier. `No there is no way this boy is a Takatori. He's not at all like them.' He thought. He set his katana down on the table and bent down picking Omi up.
Ken and Youji stared wide-eyed at him as they watched him bring Omi up stairs and put him in his room.
"Someone pinch me I think I'm dreaming…was Aya being nice?!" Ken said still in shock at what he had just seen. Of course that didn't last long when he felt a sharp pinch on his arm.
"Itai!" He turned and glared at Youji. "Why the hell did you do that?"
"You told me to pinch you, so I did."
"I didn't mean for you to really pinch me baka."
"Well if you didn't mean it then don't say it Kenken." Youji said taking out a cigarette lighting it and going up stairs to change out of his mission cloths.

For the next week Aya hadn't been his normal icy self. Youji had actually caught him smiling the other day in the flower shop when Omi tried to put on his apron to try and help. But he had gotten tangled up in it and when Ken tried to help him with it Omi had tried to glare at him saying
"I can do it my self!" Of course the glare came out as more of a pout. Youji had commented on the glare saying Omi had been spending to much time with Aya. This earned him a glare form the ice master himself.
Tonight they were going to go after Himafori again, and hopefully he wouldn't get away this time. But there was a small problem, a small blond teen problem.
"But Aya-kun!" Omi whined. He had started to open up more the past week, but only to Aya. He still didn't talk much around the other two; and whenever he did he would still stutter.
"No buts, you can not go." Aya said sternly.
"Why not?" Omi pouted.
"Because its dangerous." Omi just pouted more.
"But I know how to take care of my self, I have even been practicing with my crossbow that Kaze gave me." Omi winced slightly when he mentioned the name of the man who had adopted him.
"I know you have Omi, but you still can't come. There are just to many risks. And I would still have to talk to Kritiker to see if they would be alright with you joining the team for real." Omi looked like he was going to say something but changed his mind and stopped out of the room slamming his bedroom.
Omi paced around his room trying to calm him self down, if he just thought about it there had to be some way he could go with them and they wouldn't know about it until it was to late. He couldn't follow them on the scooter that was in the garage; Ken was still trying to fix the engine to that. He couldn't take Ken's bike because he didn't know how to ride it that well yet.
Omi continued to pace the room; he had to think of something and soon. He could hear them starting to get ready to lave. And it was getting dark out so they could take off any minute and Omi would never get to go.

Aya climbed in the car and started it while he waited for the other two. Omi was probably really mad at him for not letting him come along, when he had knocked on Omi's door to tell him they were leaving he had yelled at him to go away. He would have to talk to Omi once they got back. Or sometime tomorrow.
Ken and Youji got into the car and Aya sped off. He would think about Omi latter right now they had to worry about Himafori and make sure he didn't get away this time.
Under the back seat of the car Omi curled up as small as he could and hoped no one noticed him. He didn't bring his crossbow because someone would have seen it sticking out from under the seat and then he would be in big trouble for trying something like this.
Omi thought about that for a moment and realized he was going to be in even bigger trouble if Aya found out he had tagged along for the mission by hiding under the back seat of his car. Omi swallowed nervously and tried to make himself smaller.
~*~
Omi waited for fifteen minutes after they had parked the car and got out, to get out himself. He didn't want to be caught now. It wasn't like they could send him back home now that he was here. But they could make him sit in the car and wait. And who knew how long this would take.
Omi looked around not knowing witch way to go, he just chose a direction and went in it. He found a side door to lead into the mansion that the target was in. Omi swallowed and made sure he wouldn't trip any alarms as he went in. He opened the door slowly and went in.
He found himself in what looked like a den. There were lots of book and a comfy armchair. There was also a small writers desk over in the corner next to a window with drapes that had been drawn. Omi inched more into the room and continued looking around. He jumped and spun around when he heard the door open and close behind him.
"Who are you!?" Himafori asked when he saw Omi standing in the room. He pulled out his gun and aimed it at him. When Omi turned around his heart nearly stopped when he saw the teens face in the little bit of moonlight that made it through the drapes.
Omi stared shaking suddenly thinking this wasn't such a good idea after all. Maybe he should have listened to Aya. Then he wouldn't be here right now.
Himafori walked around Omi over to a small table that was in the room and turned on the lap so he could get a better look at him. His gun fell to the floor forgotten as he stepped closer to Omi.
"Mamoru?!" He gasped. "Is that really you?" He took a step closer and Omi continued to back away from him. Even thought the name sounded familiar and this man looked a little familiar as well.
"Mamoru don't you recognize me? Its me Himafori." Omi gasped when he heard his name, this was the target that Aya had had him look up information on. Omi stopped backing up and just stared at him as he tried to possess what was going on. Himafori took that moment to wrap his arms around Omi and pull him into a hug.
Omi went thence all over when he felt himself being pulled into a hug by someone Aya had said was a bad man. Omi acted before he could even think. He reached into his pocket and pulled out one of his poison darts he had made and stabbed Himafori in the neck.
Just as Himafori fell to the floor Aya burst into the room katana drawn. Omi was staring wide-eyed at the man who had dropped by his feet and was now reaching out trying to take Omi's hand.
"You would…have…. made a good…Takatori…my brother." Himafori whispered and his eyes slid shut.
