Witch Hunter Robin Fan Fiction ❯ The Crimson Hotel ❯ Refreshment ( Chapter 1 )
Robin let the water run through her fingers as she studied her face in the bathroom mirror. "I look so tired," she thought, "Even in this light." The room was dark and dank, lit only by a small, fluttering fluorescent light. Water dripped audibly in some deep corner and the floors always seemed muddy and littered with paper towels. She sighed. The only bathroom in this entire place and it was a cesspool. Having spent the greater part of her life in an Italian monastery with very modest accommodations, she was quite used to things being simple and unglamorous, but this place was downright dirty, almost unsanitary! If she hadn't of felt so damn exhausted, she would have gone in search of a bucket and some water and cleaned this wretched place herself. She brought her wet hands up to her face and let the cool water run down her delicate features. At least she wasn't the only one in the group who looked overworked. The entire STNJ crew had been pouring over files all night, working in almost complete silence. The balance that it took to maintain such a difficult degree of concentration had surely left everyone feeling drained. When they finally agreed to take a short break, they had all hobbled away from the table like a group of staggering zombies. Oh, what she wouldn't give for an espresso from Harry's. It would be the perfect thing to wake her up. If they had been at the real STNJ headquarters and not at this terrible, drippy warehouse she would have walked on over to see if Harry was awake. He could always be counted on in times of need. Kind of like Amon. She thought of Amon, sitting calmly across from her at the meeting and smiled. No matter what he was feeling (which was hard to discern), he never faltered. He was the backbone of the organization, and nobody possessed the abilities he seemed to naturally have. Yet he was so distant. Lately, his continuing mysteriousness had been frustrating her constantly. The others in the crew had begun to really open up to her, telling her stories about friend and family, or how they came to join the unit…but Amon had no past. He kept it locked tightly in some hidden recess of his mind. Even those on the team that had been working with him for a few years had little to say when asked. They simply didn't know. Maybe that was what was so appealing about him. Sometimes the answers to long thought out questions were dull and disappointing. Yet Robin desperately wanted to know more about him. Was he honestly so perfect? Did he never experience moments of weakness? Who had loved and despised him over the years? Who had helped him become who he was today?
The door opened with a loud pop and Miho walked in, carrying a steaming cup of black coffee. She gave Robin a weak smile and entered one of the rickety stalls.
"You would think an organization as powerful as the STN could afford to set us up in better digs than these, huh?" Miho said from behind the peeling door screaming with vulgar graffiti.
Robin laughed weakly, "I guess as long as we get the job done…."
"And I'm not sure we will." Miho replied, exiting the stall a moment later, "This ones a biggie".
"I'm sure Amon will think of a way to solve this one." Robin dried her hands on one of the coarse paper towels. "He always thinks of a way." She carefully fingered the glasses she kept in the pocket of her coat. He had given them to her when she had first arrived in Japan. She had always wondered where he'd gotten them.
Miho chuckled at the look of intense admiration in Robin's eyes, "In that case, there is no reason for the rest of us to stick around."
"Oh, you know what I mean."
"He does have great attention to detail. He can sift through endless piles of indecipherable papers and somehow pick out all the important bits of info. But this case is different, Robin." Miho's expression grew grave. "I think even Amon is going to have a hard time with this one.
She had a feeling they were all going to remember this case for a very long time.
"I'm so tired." Said Robin, again studying her own reflection.
"Yeah, with a priority case like this, we don't get a lot of time to relax." Miho glanced at her watch, whose hands were dangerously nearing 2 o'clock. "We should be regrouping shortly", she said sighing, "There is still so much to do tonight." Miho groaned at the thought of returning to their tedious projects and exited the room, meaning to refill her coffee before she sat back down at her desk.
Robin stood, lost deep within her own thoughts. Amon did always think of a way, yet Miho was right. This case was the most puzzling one she had worked on yet. Part of her doubted if they were all up to this. Somebody was out there causing people to do the most inexplicable things. Just a few days earlier, an entire floor of people at an upscale hotel had walked calmly off the ends of their high rise balconies and plunged quietly to their deaths. That was what had bothered her the most…the fact that not one of them had made a sound on the way down. In that same hotel, just hours after the mass "suicide", another floor of people had died mysteriously in their sleep. Something bad was happening in that place. Some people believed it was a witch, so naturally, the STNJ had been called in. They set up shop in an abandoned warehouse a few doors down from the place and had been doing everything they could to get to the bottom of what had happened there.
Robin gazed quietly into the mirror and was startled to see Amon there, standing a few feet behind her. She hadn't heard the clumsy bathroom door and scolded herself for losing herself in her thoughts. She studied Amon's reflection in the mirror and noticed the odd expression he wore on his face. She had never seen him look quite that way before and she squinted, trying to find any hints of what was running through his head. He began walking slowly closer towards her and she could sense a strange sort of urgency in the way moved. She turned around quickly.
"Amon,what's wr-".
"Shhhhhh". He spun her back around and put his hands gently on her shoulders. She could feel his breath, heavy on her neck, and for a moment, she was frightened. He didn't mean to harm her, did he? She just couldn't interpret the way he was acting right now and it frustrated her to no end. He let his hands linger a moment longer on her shoulders, then slowly ran his fingers through the strands of hair than ran smoothly down her neck. She involuntarily shivered as his fingers brushed her skin and let out a short gasp of surprise and he untied the ribbons that contained her golden locks. She tried to turn around to face him again but he wouldn't allow it. He held her facing the mirror, so she studied him in it once again. She had been attracted to him the moment she saw him, walking past each other as strangers the day she arrived. She recalled the way the lights at Harry's had reflected radiantly on his jet-black hair, even as his onyx eyes had studied her intently. She had wanted him then, and had actually been disappointed when she had discovered who he was. She had felt like there was no hope of ever having him…but this? What was Amon doing? He stared intently back at her in the mirror, a look of indecision flashing momentarily across his face. He was so close to her now, she could feel the warmth of his body against the back of hers. God, she still wanted him so badly. Why wouldn't he just kiss her? She licked her lips without awareness and a look of passion swept briefly into her eyes. Amon, who had been studying her just as intently, saw the fire flash within her eyes and lost all the control he had carefully been maintaining.
He pushed her roughly over the sink and pressed the folds of her dress quickly around her waist. Her white panties glistened with moisture and he urgently slid them down. Robin, who had been so surprised to say or do anything up to this point, shivered once again involuntarily and separated her legs slightly, anticipating him. He brought his fingers up to her quivering folds and felt the heat emanating off of her. He stroked her clitoris gently with his left hand as the other one frantically undid his pants. He had waited for this for so long. His penis was achingly hard and Robin moaned softly with approval when she saw how large he was. He teased her wet vagina with it for a moment before plunging it deep inside her. She grimaced momentarily as her hymen broke, then bucked herself forcefully against his cock. He pumped himself into her furiously and felt he was losing his mind as he felt her tighten her wet inner walls firmly around his penis. She began to moan intensely, "Harder", she whispered and he quickened, feeling the pleasure taking over his body in hot waves. He felt her walls pulse, quivering with orgasm and as she gasped with pleasure, he ejaculated forcefully inside her.
They stood there for a moment, both breathing heavily, with him still inside her. Amon withdrew slowly, buttoned up his pants, and quickly stormed out of the bathroom, nearly running into Sakaki and Dojima on his way out. He left, not having said a single word to Robin since the moment he entered the bathroom. Robin tried to catch her breath, still bent over the sink. She caught sight of her flushed face in the mirror and felt oddly refreshed…….
