Chapter 5

Alright you guys….wow…I haven't updated for a while on this story… and well I was thinking that I owe it to those who have e-mailed me…and I just wanted to say to the girl who had e-mailed me…and I never replied….She was wondering if I was ok….if you are reading this please e-mail me again …I am so sorry I was going to reply…its just I got busy and by the time I was going to reply…my mailbox deleted it because it was sitting for to long…thanks for caring to ^_^. It had been two days since Kiba had been with Cheza at the pond and it had been going through his mind ever since. He really couldn't understand everything that was happening now that this had happened between them. He felt closer to Cheza in many ways. Kiba knew that Cheza really didn't understand all that was going on and really he didn't expect her to. She was turned from plant type to a human and was not taught how to help herself and Kiba didn't understand how humans were either so all he could teach her was his way.

Kiba leaned back against a broken down military truck and looked at the night sky. Tomorrow they would finally reach where they wanted to go. He needed to get Cheza back to normal, but right now he wasn't sure he wanted her back to normal. Kiba finally stood and walked over to his laughing pack that surrounded to fire. “So… what did you guys find?” Kiba asked while looking at the meat hooked above the fire.

“I really don't know…some kind of bird… hell I am not sure Kiba… all it said to me was `food'.” Hige said with an out burst of laughter. Kiba rolled his eyes and then shifted them to meet with Cheza's smiling face. Kiba kicked a couple stones and then walked over to her and sat down next to her. She glanced to the side and then moved her thumbs together. Kiba turned his head to the side. What was she doing…she acted like she was nervous. “Hey Cheza how are you? Are you cold?” Kiba asked while leaning over to look at her face which was faced to the ground. Cheza finally looked up and smiled. “No…this one is just fine.” Cheza smiled again. Kiba frowned. “Cheza…what happened?” Kiba asked while putting a hand on her shoulder.

“There is nothing that happen to this one…this one is fine.” Cheza said in a mono tone voice.

“Then why aren't you talking….are you upset with me or someone?” Kiba said while still searching her face for answers. At this point Kiba was getting a little upset because he knew she was hiding something…something that she didn't want to share. “Please tell me I won't be upset.” Kiba asked in a soft voice.

“This one…this one…doesn't want to …be back to normal…again….this one…wants…to stay with Kiba…not weather and die.” Cheza said as tears slid down her face. The pain was obvious and he could tell that she was having trouble with deciding.

“You don't have a choice…I want you to stay with us forever to….but you have to understand…if we don't get your powers back to your body Cheza…there is going to be hell to pay.” Kiba tilted her head to face him. He whipped the tears away with his thumb and leaned in to brush his lips over her forehead. “It will be alright.” Kiba smiled to reassure her.

Cheza took in everything that he was saying. `I want you to stay with `us' forever to…'. The words repeated in her head. `Doesn't Kiba want this one…this one loves Kiba…but…maybe he lied to this one about caring deeply.' She said thought to herself. `This one told him this one wanted to stay with Kiba…but…Kiba said nothing but us…not himself.'

“Kiba…. Don't you love this one?” Cheza asked while looking into his eyes. Kiba's eyes widened and he pulled his hand away slowly with regret. Kiba smiled “I care for you a lot Cheza. There is no doubting that. I am sorry that you have to change back.” With that Kiba got up and walked away. He knew he was doing wrong but he didn't want to have to deal with it now. He never was good with relationships even when he was in a relationship with his past mate Violet. She was a fiery red head that knew what she wanted and when she got it that's all she needed and then left. Kiba had been young and stupid. He didn't know that she was that way and it was to late after he found out the mistake after she had come crawling back in search of help from him.

Kiba shook his head. No she was gone and he didn't need her or any other woman to be there for him. He had been down that trail and he wasn't going down it again.

Kiba kept walking down the small path that leads away from the pack. He slowly glanced up at the night sky and breathed out slowly. Kiba closed his eyes and got caught up in his thought. Man he really wished that Cheza was like this from the beginning. A little part of him always wanted that, but why couldn't he just hide her power away from the world and allow her to be this way so she could be with him. No…he couldn't. Kiba shook his head and stepped near the clear steaming water near the edge of a lake. He looked down at his reflecting and started to peel away his jacket and white under shirt. He quickly cast them aside and started to pull off all the rest of his clothing. Kiba slowly slipped into the warm bubbling water and leaned up against the mossy side of the spring. Kiba closed his eyes and thought back to when he was a pup and he still was able to see his parents and friends. That had been the first time he had met Violet. She had been a playful pup back then and he loved to play with her until his mother came for him. Kiba re opened his eyes.

It had been a horrible day the day those hunters came and started to shoot there big guns at the pack. Kiba remember he was running home as soon as he heard the blasts. Kiba got there only moments after and saw his mother laying motionless on the ground and a human standing over her. The last thing he remembered was staring once back as the hunter cocked his gun and pointed it back at his mother, and that was the end of what he allowed himself to see. He was only young and he was thankful for the man who had found him and taken care of him. He wouldn't have been able to talk care of himself if it wasn't for him.

Kiba stood and got out of the water. The water ran down the front of his chest and dripped off. Kiba shook his head free of all the extra water and grabbed his under garments and pants. He slipped them on and re zipped and buttoned them. Just as he got threw with that Kiba looked up to find a teary eyed Cheza standing in front of him.

“Cheza…what's the matter?” Kiba ran over to her and grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her to his chest. Cheza ran a hand down the front his chest and looked into his blue eyes.

“This one is scared for you Kiba. You have been acting strangely and it seems like you don't want this one around anymore.” Cheza hiccupped into his chest and tightened her arm around his waist. Kiba frowned in hurt at her.

“No…that's not it at all. It is just my …it's just me thinking. I do that a lot don't think anything of it…alright?” Kiba grabbed her cheeks with both hands and looked into her eyes. Cheza nodded and wrapped both her arms around him and snuggled in closer to him. Kiba did the same to her and looked into the night sky. He just hoped this thing he was feeling for Cheza wouldn't make him want to take anything else to the next level.

Cheza opened her eyes to find a pair of yellowish gray ones staring into hers. Cheza opened her eyes wide and let out a large scream. Kiba and Tsume jumped to their feet and growled at the pack of other wolves.

Hige and Toboe woke up not long after. Toboe rubbed his eyes and stared at the group the wolves that were standing near Cheza. “W-what's going on you guys?” He whispered.

“Who in the hell are you fools?” Tsume asked in a low growl. “What do you want?” Tsume looked at the men standing there. They all had a smug look on their faces and Tsume didn't like it one bit.

“Well…hmm…we were just passing by here and we heard that the flower maiden was here, but she was changed…so we wanted to see for ourselves what was going on…you got a problem?” The wolf laughed. Tsume growled and shoved after him to be stopped by Hige and Toboe. Kiba looked at the face for a second and his face softened as he finally recognized who it was.

“Blaze?” He asked while still looking at his face.

Blaze turned at looked at Kiba and then a smiled came on his face. “Well, well, well, what do we have here….Kiba…no way! I haven't seen you since we were pups.” Blaze's happiness turned to a look of disgust as he remembered that day that they last saw one another.

“Yea long time no see.” Kiba laughed. Tsume gave him a look of shock and the others mouth dropped.

“So…what is going on Kiba?” Cheza said while brushing off her clothing.

“Oh Cheza this is a friend. We were best friends when we were pups.” Kiba said as he grabbed her and had her stand next to him.

“Well Kiba…looks to me you found a nice human. Last I heard you were with that ….oh yes Violet. But that was passing word amongst packs. So you met up with Violet as well huh?” Blaze smirked.

“Yes we met up but that doesn't matter. I haven't seen her in five years and besides there is nothing between us anymore.” Kiba looked down with a frown.

“Oh come now Kiba you will hurt her fillings.” Blaze looked over his shoulder at the woman with a brown robe on and hood hiding her face. The woman lifted her hands and pulled down her hood and stared at Kiba. Her brown eyes searched his.

“Hello Kiba…long time no see.” The woman said as she smiled lovingly at him.

“Violet?” Kiba looked in awe at her.

Cheza looked at Violet and then Kiba. `Is this Kiba's mate…or lover…maybe that's why Kiba doesn't want this one.'
