She could hear someone calling her name. Struggling threw the darkness she focused on the sound and forced herself out of the haze.
“Blaze! Blaze you have to wake up! Please I don't know what to do! Blaze!”
She forced her eyes open and looked up at a stricken looking Dawn.
“Oh thank god.” She said when Blaze finally came out of it.
“Wh….What happened?” Blaze asked as she struggled to her feet.
“I don't really know. One second you were fighting with the gray wolf. Then you screamed grabbed your head and passed out. Then there was an explosion down in the field. Some noble showed up and started a fight with those wolves. I think he's been after them for a while. He hurt them pretty badly and took that girl with him.”
The Flower was gone. But she could still smell her scent. It was faint but she could track it easily. First things first they needed to get the others to safety.
“Come on, let's get them into the Lunar cave.” She said to Dawn as she started down the pass.

“Kiba…. Kiba….” He could hear her calling to him. But he couldn't find her. No matter how fast he was he couldn't find her. Intense pain ripped him from his sleep. Panting hard he attempted to get up.
“I wouldn't do that if I were you. You've lost a lot of blood and your wounds have not yet healed.” He turned his head and saw the young blond girl attending to Toboe. She was watching him with concern.
“Where?”
“Just relax your in the Lunar cave Blaze brought you here. See when the moon rises is shines directly into this cave and is reflected off the crystal in the cave walls.”
“Cheza?” He breathed as he sank back to the ground and passed out.

He was whimpering in his sleep again, something was tearing him apart in his dreams. She had lived threw enough of her own nightmares to know that the best way to pull someone out was to change the dream.
Dawn had taken the others over to the lake to get cleaned up and catch some fish. They were alone in the cave and she knew what she had to do. Lying next to him she put her head on his shoulders and slipped into the shift. Her scent changed and saturated the air.

He was running after the ship again. With every step the pain ripped threw him. He'd failed her again, Darcia had her again. He had to get her back no matter what. Suddenly everything shifted. He was no longer running threw the snow but now stood in a lush green field.
He looked around in shock and bewilderment. Where was he now? Suddenly the wind shifted and brought with it a very familiar sent. “Cheza?” He spun his head in the direction but it wasn't Cheza that he saw, instead it was a large silver white wolf. Maybe this wolf could help him. He started to run toward the silver white wolf.

“That is close enough!” She said when he got with in five feet of her. The unmistakable command in her voice left no room for argument, Kiba stopped dead in his tracks. This close he could tell the scent that he had mistaken for Cheza's was in fact very different. It was not only stronger but sweeter as well. Just inhaling it made him feel like a pup in his first heat.
The Silver she wolf chuckled at this.
Shaking his head trying to clear his scattered thoughts he asked, “Who are you?”
“I am Luni.” She said, “I am much like your Flower Maiden but with a few differences. As you can clearly see I am a wolf, a wolf born under the blood moon to be precise. Unlike her I do not have the power to lead one to paradise but with out my blessing none may enter.
You must not allow the false wolf to open the gate. If he does it could bring about the destruction of this world.”
“Do you know where he's taken her?”
“I do not. But there is one who can help you greatly. She is waiting for you even now. She has been waiting for you her entire life. Trust your instincts and trust hers as well.” Suddenly everything started to shift once again just as she began to fade away he heard Luni say, “ Take good care of my daughter white wolf.”

He was coming too rather quickly. She scampered away and changed back into human form crouching against the cave wall. She could disguise the scent better in this form then she could in her wolf form. The problem was that it left her shaken and weak. She'd only done that a few times before and never for that long. She pulled her knees up to her chest and tried to control her breathing. Dawn was going to be really mad at her about this, but she hadn't really had a choice. She watched from the shadows as Kiba finally woke up.

His head was killing him. It felt like some one had hit him with a boulder. His senses were on over drive. He knew someone was watching him but the weird part was that he had no idea who. He looked around and saw no one, was he imagining things? No there was someone in this cave with him.
Concentrating he picked up the sound of their breathing. Focusing on the sound he tracked it to the far wall of the cave. It took his eyes a moment to adjust to the shadows but now he could see her. It was the girl from before, the red wolf, Blaze.
“Why are you hiding in the shadows?” He asked her. She jumped as if startled by the sound of his voice.
Just then the others came back in. “Kiba! Your ok!” Toboe said running up to him.

Dawn came in with an arm full of fresh fish. She set the fish down and walked over to where Blaze was sitting. “You shifted to help him didn't you.” It was more a statement then a question. Dawn could tell that she had just by looking at her. Dawn was the only wolf in her “pack” that knew that the blood of the Luni ran threw Blaze's veins. She only knew because Blaze had shifted once to save Dawn's life after a failed hunt left her severely injured. And she had promised never to tell anyone.
She crouched down next to Blaze and tucked an arrant stand of her hair back. Blaze glance up at her with pain filled eyes. Dawn shook her head and sighed. “Come on.” She said as she helped her to her feet. As they started out of the cave Dawn looked back and said, “I'm taking her to the river. Eat what's there we'll catch some more for ourselves.” And with that they disappeared into the shadows.

“Well that was weird.” Toboe said watching after them.
“What do you mean?” Kiba asked looking down at the pup curiously.
“When we left the cave close to an hour ago, Blaze was fine.” Blue said as she sat down against the wall. “She stayed behind to look after you.” She continued.
“Yeah, kinda funny that when we left you were still pretty bad off and she was fine, then we come back and your all better and she's the one who looks like she's on deaths door.” Hige said as he tossed Kiba some of the fish.
Kiba caught the fish with one hand, but did not start eating it. Something was nagging at the back of his mind. But he couldn't remember what.

“Can you explain why you would take that kind of risk for a stranger?” Dawn asked staring at her friend in bewilderment. The shaking had finally stopped and she felt her strength returning.
Blaze lowered her head and said, “I can't explain it, just something inside of me wouldn't let me stand by and let him suffer the way he was. Not when I knew I could do something to help him.”
“He is rather attractive.” Dawn said.
Blaze stared at her friend in shock. “DAWN!” she gasped.
“Well he is, not as cute as Toboe. But if he'd been looking at me the way he looked at you, well I'd want to save him too.”

It was late by the time they got back into the cave. Blaze was relived to see that everyone was asleep. Their sleeping arraignments said a lot about them. The gray wolf slept in front of the pup as if trying to protect him from anything that might attack. The black and the brown wolves were snuggled up together in a corner. This sight caused a wave of jealousy and pain to wash over her, but she pushed it aside. The white wolf was asleep alone in a different corner of the cave. Blaze watched him sleep for a few minutes until Dawn walked passed her and stretched out against the back of the cave. Sighing to herself she went and stretched out next to Dawn in the same protective way the gray was. She fell asleep quickly, never even realizing that she herself had been watched.

“So what do we do now?” Hige asked from his spot next to Blue.
“What do you mean what do we do now? We have to go after Darcia and get Cheza back!” Tsume snapped at him.
“Yeah, but Tsume we don't know where he took her, and Kiba's still hurt.” Toboe said softly.
“The pup is right.” Blaze said as she got up.
“I'M NOT A PUP!” he growled at her surprising everyone.
“Okay” she said smiling at him. “But you were right. With Kiba still hurt it wont do you any good to go running around trying to find her.”
“Are you suggesting that we just let him have her?” Kiba growled at her from the cave's entrance. She turned to face him a fresh wave of heat washed over her. He had gone down to the river to get cleaned up. With his coat freshly cleaned he was more that just attractive he was drop dead gorgeous.
“No!” she said when she could talk again. “What I'm saying is that you're in no condition to go against the noble right now. You have to trust my instincts on this.” Something she couldn't place flashed across his face.
“You need to regain your complete strength. He's not going to hurt her; he needs her as much as you do. One more day wont change anything.” She finished.

“Trust your instincts and trust in hers.” He remembered that was what the silver wolf had told him in his dream. Was Blaze the wolf she had been talking about?
“So what do you suggest that we do?” He asked her.
“Our pack's den isn't far from here.” She said causing Dawn to jump next to her. She continued on, “Come stay with us and regain your strength. Then tomorrow you can set out to find her from there.”
Kiba nodded and said, “Well then lets get moving.”
“Um Kiba? Can we catch some more fish before we go?” Toboe asked cautiously.
Kiba smiled at him reassuringly. “Your right Toboe. I am a bit hungry myself. Come on lets go get breakfast.”
As the others started to leave Blaze said, “We'll be there in a minute.” The others headed out of the cave.

“Your not actually going to take them to the den are you?” Dawn asked once they had left.
“What choice do we have?” Blaze responded. “We can NOT leave them here and we can NOT let them go after the noble unprepared.”
“Stone is NOT going to like this.” Dawn said worriedly.
“I know but I will deal with him when the time comes.” Then without another word Blaze followed after the others. Dawn was right behind her.
