Chapter 7 of The Moon's Tears: Iniquities of The Past
Leiko sighed and placed her hands on her hips as she walked casually through he train station brushing past people, "This is fucked up," she muttered to herself as she made her way outside. "I can understand why she wants that wolf, but honestly…cloning her own daughter." she shook her head, even though she was a hunter who delighted in killing, cloning was just something she believed shouldn't be tampered with.

Lady Toshi sat in her tea room delicately sipping her tea thinking back to the day she found her daughter dead in that very room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lady Toshi watched her daughter playing with two china dolls in the corner while smiling. The girl was a perfect miniature of herself, but younger of course. She had her mother's eyes, hair, small hands with short fingers and almond shaped nails, light tanned skin and dimples.
Akiko occasionally looked up and beamed cheerily at her mother.
After a few minutes a timid looking female maid entered the room, "Lady Toshi," she said nervously, fidgeting slightly as though very afraid.
Lady Toshi looked over at the maid and frowned, "Yes, Naoko. What is it?"
Naoko took a deep curtsey than said, "I'm sorry for interrupting milady ,but there is some business to attend to in the main hall."
"Ah yes," The noble woman nodded, remembering that she had a date with another potential suitor, "I'm coming." She got up from her seat than told Akiko, "I'll be right back my daughter." she patted the young girl on the head, "Stay here and continue playing, alright?"
Akiko hardly glanced up ,but nodded, she was too into playing with her dolls.
Lady Toshi walked out of the room and followed her main down into the main hall.
After a few hours of uninteresting chatter she dismissed the suitor and walked up the stairs to the tea room. Halfway up, she heard a bloodcurdling scream that made her freeze for a few seconds. When she regained her senses she dashed up the stairs and flung open the door to the room to see blood staining the walls and the carpets.
The two dolls her daughter had been playing with were in the corner of the room where the biggest puddle of blood lay, but she didn't see her daughters body anywhere, just blood.
She sank to the floor hardly believing what she saw. She covered her mouth with her hands as tears began to blur her vision.
"Akiko…" she whispered softly as fat globules of hot tears streamed down her cheeks. She put her face in her hands and sobbed for what seemed like forever.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ end of flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lady Toshi put down her tea cup and stared around the room with weary eyes. Her servants had cleaned up all the blood and it looked as good as new and they had also cleaned up the blood spattered dolls that now laid on Akiko's bed.
Lady Toshi laced her fingers together and leaned back in her chair sadly, it had happened so long ago, but every time she looked at the room she still saw her daughter's blood all over everything.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She mourned her daughter's death for months until one of her scientists offered an idea.
"Using her DNA, we could clone her." he said as she stood by the window staring out at the night sky.
"But it still wouldn't be Akiko," she said barely audible by the scientist.
"Personality wise, no," He replied straightening his lab coat, "But identical I assure you. We have a blood sample of your daughter's from the room so it is very possible to do so milady. I'm only suggesting this because you've done nothing ,but mourn for your daughter, cloning her might ease the pain that you are in."
She crossed her arms then turned around and looked at him, she sighed heavily, "I do admit I miss her so, but all wounds cannot heal so simply. Even if you clone her, she won't be the same, it will be like a different child only in Akiko's body."
The scientist adjusted his glasses then said, "Do not fret over such trivial things, we will clone her and if you do not approve you just simply dispose of the child. It's that easy."
Lady Toshi tucked a tendril of her hair behind her ear slowly before answering, "Can you truly do this?" she questioned. Her heart longed to see Akiko's face again, but could she handle the emotional pain knowing that the clone could never truly replace Akiko in her heart.
"Yes, of course, but there is one down side to cloning her." he said hastily.
She glared crossly at him, "And what is that my good scientist?"
He coughed into his hand than cleared his throat and stated to her, "We couldn't find a clean sample."
"What does that mean?" she asked furrowing her brows at him irritably.
"You see," he said rubbing the back of his neck and looking at her, "There was also wolf's blood in that room and the sample we obtained had some in it."
"Meaning?" she snapped.
"It means that if we replicate your daughter, she'd also obtain the wolf DNA within the blood. So she's be half wolf and half human." The scientist responded.
Lady Toshi turned back around to face the open window, "Is there anyway to take the wolf's blood out?"
He shook his head, "No."
She thought silently for a moment then asked, "Is there anything you can do to suppress the wolf's DNA?"
"We can enhance her intelligence to make her more rational, but that's about it." he said.
She remained quiet before saying, "Do it then."
He nodded then left the room leaving her standing all by herself. She hugged herself and stared up at the dark sky with it's millions of stars, "Akiko." She said softly to herself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ end of flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had seemed like a mistake at first to clone her, but now she needed her back. Even if their personality's were different, she needed to she her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lady Toshi held the small baby wrapped in blankets in her arms forcing herself to smile at the quiet infant while rocking her back and forth in her arms gently.
It was odd to see the baby face of Akiko again and it didn't feel right. It felt like another mother's child she was trying to calm, not her own.
She remembered Akiko to be an energetic and spirited child, but this one seemed reserved and calm all the time.
Lady Toshi stared at the baby as it sucked on it's thumb silently, Akiko hadn't been a thumb sucker either and she looked distastefully at the marking below her left eye knowing that her scientists put that on everything created in the lab below the left eye, but she wished they hadn't. It just added to the list of things that made this baby different from Akiko. She wasn't even sure if she could even call this baby Akiko. Too many dissimilarities between the two despite being identical, she couldn't love this child. It just wasn't the same.
Naoko came into the chamber where she was holding the child and spoke gently, "Is everything all right Lady Toshi? Do you need any help with Aki-err…the baby?"
Lady Toshi stared at the maid and beckoned her to come next to her, "Come here."
The timid maid walked over next to Lady Toshi ready to obey anything she was told.
Lady Toshi gave Naoko the small baby, "I can't bare it, I can't take it. Please get rid of the child."
Naoko blinked, what had she just been told? "M-milady," she faltered glancing between her mistress and the baby, "What do you mean?"
"Take that child away," Lady Toshi said impatiently, unhappy with repeating herself. "It is nothing like Akiko."
Naoko curtsied, "Oh…yes milady." She then hurried out of the room clutching the baby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ end of flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lady Toshi sipped her tea again then daintily dapped her lips with her handkerchief. She then placed the empty cup back on the saucer.
After a few moments of strange silence with herself, she stood up and left the room.

Khota a few feet behind the other wolves with a bit of a gloomy expression on her face and staring at the ground. Things were getting out of control and she wished she had just stayed with the others instead of following Tsume. If she had, she would have never found out about the whole cloning thing and how Kiba had just perplexed her even more by his bizarre action.
Hige looked over at her and stopped, "What's wrong?"
The other's stopped and looked around at her.
Khota's head snapped up quickly and she immediately shrugged, "Nothing, just thinking is all."
Hige tilted his head to the side curiously as though wondering if something was eating at her, but if she didn't want to talk about, she didn't have to. "If you say so." he said as he continued walking with Blue next to him.
Khota saw Kiba stare at her for a few lingering seconds. It was the first time he had made eye contact with her all day since last night. She didn't understand why she felt embarrassed about the whole thing when he was the one who had kissed her not the other way around. Their eyes locked and blushes spread across both of their faces, but he looked away after a few awkward seconds.
Khota folded her arms across her chest and decided she was going to confront him about it later, when she could talk to him alone.
Toboe had been the only one who had saw Khota and Kiba looking intently at each other and he stared back and forth between the two with a baffled look on his face. I wonder what's up with those two, he thought as he lagged slightly behind Tsume who was scowling. (A/N doesn't he always scowl ;P)

Leiko frowned as she walked, "Lady Toshi said this was the city they were in." she mumbled to herself as she strolled down an alleyway. She rubbed her chin, "But I haven't seen them anywhere." Leiko sighed. Her black trench coat swayed in the wind as wisps of her brown hair flowed easily in the breeze. She scanned the streets with her eyes, looking closely at each civilian that past her. Lady Toshi had just told her to look in the city, but for all she knew, they could be long gone by now.

Authoress: I know, I know, slow chapter with hardly any progress in the story, but I wanted to give you guys an insight on what Toshi's past was. I promise that the next chapter will be better and hopefully longer then this. Once again, thanks for reading and reviewing! I hope ya'll are enjoying this story! ^-^
Also, I'm planning on making this story into a trilogy with this being the first installment.
ROCK ON AND PEACE OUT!
