[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Toboe looked out towards the west.
Gone.
A tear rolled down his check.
Gone.
He had tried so hard.
Gone.
But she had died anyway.
Gone.
A long mournful howl leapt into the warm summer night air.
Even when given this second chance, I still couldn't help but jump on her. I still forgot I'm a wolf not a dog.
Toboe looked up as the rain fell down on his face. He was a wolf and would always be a wolf.
To the outside world filled with humans he seemed to be just another teenaged boy, except for the fact that he kind of looked like a girl. His hair was reddish and only came down a little bit past his head and winged out like someone took a curling iron to it. His eyes were similar to a soft amberish brown, really kind of hard to describe. He wore green cargo pants that were kind of like army pants. His shirt was a pinkish, reddish color. On his feet he had army boots. And last but not least he wore silver bracelets on his right wrist. They were given to him from the grandmother that took care of him.
Toboe sighed.
He was thinking about the pack that once he was a part of, a small part but a part of none the less.
*Sigh* I wish they were here now. If they were here now I would show that I'm not the scardy wolf that they knew last time………… well not as much of a scardy wolf.
“I didn't know there was a parade”
Huh?
Toboe looked towards the street. What kind of parade has military people and just military people, especially in a small town like this?
He inched closer to the edge of the road. What they wore and what they carried screamed NOT OUR MILITARY!!!!!!!
*Gasp*
Toboe knew their armor, knew their weapons, and knew what they were looking for. They were similar to Jagara's troops, and her troops hunted for wolves.
Run!
And run Toboe did.
He turned and ran. In fact when he turned the corner on to another street, he ran right into the front of the military precision.
*Gulp*
Toboe slowly looked up at the man he ran into. The man's eyes were cold, like ice.
Good thing he doesn't have the visor down. Or I'd be in real trouble.
“Watch where you're going kid.”
“Ye..ye..yes..yes, sir.”
The man walked off.
“Testing. Testing.”
A very important looking military man was on a temporary stage.
“We are here looking for murderers and deceivers. We will try our best not to interrupt your lives too much. Thank you.”
Most of the day past without too much trouble, except for the fact that Toboe had to run from every military personnel he saw just to make sure that he wasn't caught.
The last of those incidents was the one that would force the past together with the present.
Toboe turned to run from a group of the military peoples and knocked over an old woman and her shopping cart.
“I'm so sorry, ma'am”
“It's quite okay.”
The military came over, among them was the man that Toboe ran into earlier.
“I thought I told you to watch where you were going.”
He stopped his visor fell as he handed an orange over the old lady.
WOLF!!!!
Toboe ran.
“Stop him. He's one of them!!”
Toboe ran until he could run no more. He was surrounded by the military. They had him pinned down. He was going to die.
Help! Somebody please help me!
And to Toboe's surprise someone did help him. Or should I say somewolves.
“Well, this seems familiar.”
“Hige!!”
There in front of him was his friends.
“Kiba! Blue! You guys are alive! And you came to help me!”
Blue smiled at him, “Of course, Toboe. You're a member of this pack.”
Her smile though quickly vanished when she saw who had been hunting Toboe.
“They're the same.”
Hige looked at Blue, “Who's the same?”
“They are. They belong to the same military that killed those little kids and burned my home.”
“So, someone is after wolves again.”
It was then that Toboe smelled it.
Paradise.
Kiba bent his knees slightly.
“When I give the signal jump on to the roofs of the building. We'll meet at the west gate.”
They all got ready.
“Surrender now or be killed.”
Hige smirked, “Already played that game. And you guys tried to kill us anyway.”
“Smart ass.”
“Now!!”
They leapt.
Gunshots rang out.
After about a half an hour, they all met at the gate. Nobody hurt.
“Thanks for coming with me, Blue. If you hadn't been with me I wouldn't have made it out alive.”
“No problem, Toboe. Where do we go from here.”
Kiba pointed towards the west.
“West.”
The rest of the pack nodded.
Tsume was all who was left.
Three down one two go.
