Chapters/Parts: 1/?
Gradually, a very exhausted Ken Kennedy strolled down the corridor toward the locker room after wrestling minutes for a chance to win the “Money In The Bank” ladder match. Unfortunately, C.M. Punk was the victor instead of him.
A sigh of relief is released when Ken finally came to the entrance of the Men’s Locker Room. He couldn’t wait to slip beneath the shower. Without hesitations, he pushes the door open and walks in. An instant smile slithers across Ken’s face as his eyes came in contact with the familiar shade of blue that always makes him melt into a puddle of goop.
“Hey you,” said Ken.
Immediately Chris turned his attention away from untying his wrestling boots to greet Ken with a warm smile. He breathes deeply before speaking softly, “Hey… great match we had out there, huh?”
Ken eased closer to sit down on the bench next to the Canadian. He nods, “Yeah, too bad neither of us didn’t win… ECW must be proud.”
“I gotta hand it to Punk though, I would’ve never thought about putting another guy’s leg through the rung of the ladder,” Chris articulates as he rubbed his leg with a light envious chuckle.
Ken situates a concerned hand over Chris’ and asked, “You’re okay, right? He didn’t hurt you…”
“No, he didn‘t hurt me,” Chris interrupts before gently grabbing Ken’s hand and interlacing their fingers together. He lifts his free hand to brush away a few sweat beads that rested on the other man’s forehead.
“Good,” Ken replied with a thankful smile. He closed his eyes briefly at the feel of Chris’ touch. He whispers, “You know, I have to be honest, it was so hard to contain myself especially whenever you’d touch me. There were times during the match when I wanted to slam you against the turnbuckle and just have my way with you… of course, it wouldn’t have been appropriate in front of 40, 000 fans…”
Chris stared into Ken’s eyes as his hand moved to run through strands of blond hair. After a second of silence he responds, “Mm… that’s nothing, when I grabbed your legs to apply the Walls Of Jericho, I grew an erection. You don’t know how difficult it was for me to keep from exploding in my tights.”
Ken smirked at Chris’ words before playfully teasing, “…and don’t think I didn’t catch you staring at my ass when you climbed the ladder after me…”
Chris chuckles, “How could I not? It was right there in my face.”
“You’re bad,” Ken said as he shook his head with a laugh.
Chris grins, “I know.”
Ken lifted a hand to brush the tips of his fingers across Chris’ cheek. He offers him a small smile before speaking, “I wouldn’t have you any other way… you’re amazing…”
“So are you,” Chris whispers as he brought his face closer to Ken’s. When he attempted to kiss the other blond. Unexpectedly Ken turned his face, got up and went into the shower room leaving Chris with a confused expression. After a moment, he follows Ken and didn’t hesitate to question, “Why did you turn away from me?”
Ken took a deep breath before explaining, “I’m scared.”
“Of what?” Chris asked as he stepped closer to Ken.
The Minnesotan turned to stare into the stunning sapphire eyes of Chris and responds honestly, “What if all this between us is too good to be true? What if someone comes along and wrecks everything?”
“That’s not going to happen…”
“How can you be sure it won’t?” Ken asked as he wrapped his arms around Chris and rested his forehead against the other blond’s. He softly adds, “I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you and I’m not eager to find out neither.”
“Hey… hey, you’re not going to lose me… I promise,” whispered Chris as he pressed an assuring kiss to Ken’s lips.
Ken pulled away from Chris to stroll over toward a sink. He glanced up into the mirror before staring down into the drain, a few doubtful tears coming to his eyes.
The sexy beast observed in silence for a few minutes before walking close to wrap his arms around the other blond from behind. He rested his head sideways against Ken’s back and asked above a confused whisper, “Where is this coming from?”
“You’re the first real love I’ve ever had in my life. Everyone else has used me, hurt me or never really loved me. You… you’re different. You treat me like I’m someone and you make me happy. I… I’ve been having these nightmares about waking up and everything just disappearing, like you’re not even real. I just don’t want to find myself falling on my face again,” Ken explains as he rested his hands on either side of the sink as a few teardrops manage to escape.
Chris tugs away to turn Ken around. His eyes immediately expand at the sight of his tears. He elevates a hand to dry them and softly speaks, “I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen you shed a tear.”
Ken sighs, “I don’t show this side of me often. I usually have to play the part of the strong one. In all my past relationships, it was like that.”
“You’re human too just like everyone else. If you need to cry than hey, I’m not going to stop you. Just let me know and I’ll be right there to comfort you,” Chris said sincerely as he ran a loving hand through strands of Ken’s hair.
“That’s just it… that is what makes me so nervous about our entire relationship,” Ken rotates to stare into the mirror again before adding, “Everyone that has came into my life has made the same promises. Those promises eventually became lies and…”
Chris interrupted by placing a hand on top of Ken’s shoulder to turn him back around and than unexpectedly planting a profound kiss onto his mouth. Unpredictably Ken jerked away and pushed Chris lightly. He cursed, “Damnit, Chris! You never listen, you think that kissing and fucking solves everything, well it doesn’t. It doesn’t.”
Chris didn’t have a chance to ask questions before Ken departs from the shower area, grabbed his belongings and left the locker room. Apprehension immediately filled Chris’ eyes. That was the first time he’d ever seen Ken react that way. Something was bothering him and he wasn’t going to stop until he found answers.
--Outside The Locker Room--
Ken sighs as he pressed his back against the concrete wall next to the door of the Men’s Locker Room. A few fresh tears escape as he reached into his unzipped duffel bag to pull out Chris’ cell phone. He glanced down into the small screen at the text message that has been bugging him since the beginning of Wrestlemania:
So glad we got to see each other, Chris. It felt like old times, just you and me. I hope to see you again. --Jason Reso
Ken didn’t understand why Chris never told him about his night out with Jason or why he wasn‘t invited. Did something happen that Chris doesn’t want him to know about? Ken hoped that wasn’t the case because if Chris was unfaithful than it would definitely shatter him into. When the time is right, Ken was going to confront Chris about the suspicious text message from Jason. Hopefully Chris will be straight with him.
