Chapters/Parts: Prologue/?

-Northern Italy-

A dark haired man narrowed his eyes and gradually made his way upstairs, as sounds of pleasure echoed throughout the mansion. It hadn’t been long ago since legendary drug lord, Ross Callaghan had returned from business in his home country of Scotland. Now where in the world was his wife, Alyssa? He thought that she, of all people, would have been waiting for him with open arms, but she was nowhere to be found.

Ross grew more confused as the resonances become louder as he came close to the bedroom that he shared with her. A nervous hand wrapped around the doorknob and opened to a man’s worse nightmare, his woman in bed with another. His eyes immediately grew livid as they land on the facial features that belonged to his best friend, Jacob Pillar.

A sharp feminine gasp hummed throughout the large span as the occupied woman heard the sound of footsteps within. She lifted her head from the arms of Jacob and her emerald eyes expand as they found her husband standing not far from the base of the bed.

“Oh my god, Ross, I can explain,” said the nervous Italian woman.

Ross didn’t respond instead he growls viciously and throws himself onto the king size bed, attacking Jacob with punches. The woman screamed for them to stop fighting as she reached for the covers to shield her nudity, but before she could get off the bed, unexpectedly the large furniture broke in half sending the headboard crashing down at full force.

Both men managed to free themselves from the headboard’s wrath even though they were bleeding here and there on their bodies. Immediately Ross’ eyes filled with horror as he found his cheating wife obscured underneath the headboard and not moving. He pushed Jacob out of the way and quickly moved the piece off the woman. Instant tears shined in his eyes at the amount of blood that surrounded her head beneath. He kneels to take the corpse into his arms and weeps, regretting that he ever got into a brawl with Jacob. He should have waited another time to confront the bastard, but no his temper got the best of him like always.

“What the fuck happened here?!”

Ross’ eyes expanded at the voice that had just spoken. He lifts his head from the nape of his dead wife’s neck to find her father, Stefano Caparelli. He gradually stands to his feet and backs away from the elderly Italian man.

“You! You fucking inbred killed my daughter!” Stefano wasn’t hesitant to blame Ross Callaghan for his daughter’s death. He never liked him ever since he took his precious little girl’s hand in marriage.

“No!” Ross defends. He glanced around the room and frowns disappointingly, as there was no sign of Jacob Pillar anywhere. Ross knew that Pillar was just as guilty as he was especially since he is the one who had the affair with her.

Stefano’s eyes grew dark, as he didn’t believe anything that came from Ross’ mouth. Lies! All lies especially since Ross was the one found with Alyssa’s body. However, for now, he growls, “Go! Get out of my sight, Ross!”

The aged Italian waited until Ross was near the bedroom’s doorway to add, “Just remember this, Ross. I will get my revenge someday. You’re not off the hook.”

Juvenile eyes observed from a partly opened door as the Scottish man made his exit down the extended corridor. 18-year-old Giano Nervetti had been staying with his aunt Alyssa and heard everything that had gone on in the other room. He waited until Ross was nowhere in sight before zipping across the corridor and sneaking into Alyssa’s bedroom. He frowns sadly, as Stefano was over his aunt’s body weeping.

“Did Ross do this?”

Stefano glanced up at the sound of Giano’s words. He sighs, “I… I think he did. I came into the room and he was the only one here.” The elder Italian shifted his eyes down to the bloodied face of Alyssa before growling, “I swear the sonofabitch will pay for taking my little girl’s life. It’s only a matter of time until Ross Callaghan burns in hell. I will make sure of it.”

“No. I will make sure of it. Let me be the one to take Ross Callaghan‘s last breath. You know I‘ve never liked him ever since he married Alyssa. If it weren‘t for Steve and the triplets, I would have gotten rid of him ages ago, but now there will be no mercy,” breathes Giano as he made his way close to the triplets’ bassinets. Vanessa, Maxwell and Vincent were all too young to understand what was going on. In time, he’ll be sure to let them know the true colors of their father.

Stefano smirked proudly at his nephew’s words. “Good ‘cause if anyone can take down Ross Callaghan than it is you, my boy. Lets not do anything yet. I want Ross to think he’s off my blacklist than years from now, when he least expects it…”

Giano interrupts with a chuckle, “I like the way you think. ‘Cause when I come across Ross again, it’ll be with a bullet between his Scottish eyes.”
