It was a clear night out. The stars sparkled down from the heavens. The full moon shown overhead, it's white illuminations providing light for anyone who happened to be out during the night.

The 'clicking' of approaching shoes broke the silence in the air. The owner of these shoes went at a brisk pace. He blended into the night quite well, dressed in a long black overcoat, which was wrapped around him. His head hung low, his eyes closed, lost in deep thought. But he walked with purpose.

He finally came to a halt. He glanced up and smiled. His eyes drifted to a figure, sitting at the base of a tree, looking up at the night sky.

"Hisoka…"

Caught by the moonlight

A silent mist

A shimmer in the trees

Oh what a night for dreams

A night of destiny

Green emerald eyes met amethyst.

"Tsuzuki?"

Tsuzuki sat down next to the young teen. His eyes were still locked on to the other's.

"Why are you out here so late?"

"It was a clear night. I decided to come outside and watch the stars."

Tsuzuki said nothing and turned his head to look at the night sky. Indeed, it was beautiful out.

"It's peaceful too," Hisoka continued, "No one is out this late."

Tsuzuki simply nodded. 'It must be hell for him with others around because of his empathy…'

Nothing was said between them. Tsuzuki turned his head and stared at the young teen. He wasn't really interested in stargazing. No, he was gazing at something much more beautiful than the stars…

Others are sleeping

So unaware of magic in the air

Magic you weave just for me

Io sono prigionièra

Hisoka turned around to face his partner, a little flush crossing his cheeks. 'He's so cute when he blushes…'

Was it his imagination or did he blush even more just now?

"Did you need anything, Tsuzuki?"

"No."

Again, silence echoed between the pair. Tsuzuki continue to look at his partner. Hisoka looked down at the ground.

"Is something wrong, Hisoka?"

"I don't understand…"

Sweet fascination

Though I don't understand

The words you say

You whisper soft and low

And I am swept away

"Understand what?"

"This feeling…"

Tsuzuki reached out to touch the young teens cheek. He felt him shiver at his touch.

"What is it you don't understand?"

"I don't know… I don't even understand the feeling myself…"

Tsuzuki decided to be quite bold at that moment. He ignored the small gasp that the teen gave as he wrapped his arms around him and held him close to his chest. He felt Hisoka tense, and was afraid that he would pull away. But Hisoka didn't.

"Are you afraid?"

"A little…"

"Hisoka, do you trust me?"

"Of course…"

Tsuzuki said nothing and continued to hold him, closing his eyes. He felt at peace at that moment. Hisoka seemed to relax as well, as if sensing the feelings coming from him. He pressed his cheek upon the teen's forehead.

"Now do you understand?"

Touch of enchantment

I tremble when you

Hold me close this way

Drawn like a moth to a flame

"Tsuzuki…"

He pressed a finger to the teen's lip and continued to hold him. He closed his eyes again, lost in his own feelings at the moment. He didn't want this feeling to end…

He knew how he felt for Hisoka. He knew for a long time. Hisoka was always there for him. He was the one who he depended on, the only one who believed in him when he thought no one else would. Hisoka saved him from himself…

He couldn't imagine a life without Hisoka. Although the boy seemed cold on the outside, he knew how he really was inside. He had thoughts and feelings like any other person, the only difference was he could feel others emotions. His parents regarded him as a monster, as a demon.

But to Tsuzuki, he was his salvation… His angel…

He felt the young teen shiver as a slight breeze blew by. He reluctantly parted from his partner and stood up.

"Do you want me to walk you back home?" Tsuzuki asked, offering his hand up down to the young teen, who took it. Hisoka simply nodded, not letting go of the hand as they walked towards the young teen's home. Although Tsuzuki wanted to wrap his arms around him and keep him close, he was content with holding his hand.

Io sono prigionièra

My fate is in your arms tonight

Though love is shining in your eyes

Will you be mine tomorrow

It didn't take them too long to walk to Hisoka's house. Hisoka let go of Tsuzuki's hand.

"Well," was all Tsuzuki said.

"Do you want to come in, Tsuzuki?"

"Ah, sure, if it's okay with you?"

"Yeah… I'll make some tea…"

Tsuzuki sat down at the table and looked around the house. It was very sparse. A couch was over to the side. Near the couch was a table with a lamp on it. In another corner was a bookshelf with several books on the shelves. There was no TV, radio, computer, or any other electronics in the room. There wasn't even any sort of nit knacks or paintings in sight either. The place was as simple as you could get, with just the bare minimum items you needed to live.

He couldn't understand how Hisoka could live so simply. To Tsuzuki, it seemed like he just existed, and that was it. Like he didn't really 'live'…

'But then again, Shinigami don't really 'live'.' He joked to himself. His gaze went back to his partner again. 'But he gives me a reason to exist…'

He noticed that his partner paused for a split second, then continued to wash the cups and put the kettle back on the stove. 'Did he hear me just now with his empathy?'

He sighed softly to himself and continued to stare at him, lost in his own emotions and thoughts. He closed his eyes, and started to daydream. He imagined holding his partner tightly; wanting to erase the horrors no young man should ever have to go through. He licked his lips, craving how the teen's lips would taste…

Io sono prigionièra

My heart will nevermore be free

A part of you I'll always be

From now until eternity

A shattering of glass interrupted his daydream and he opened his purple eyes. A broken cup, shattered into several pieces laid upon the kitchen floor. He watched Hisoka bend down to pick up the shards. Tsuzuki rose up from his seat and walked out into the kitchen. He bent down and helped Hisoka pick up the remains of the broken teacup. He noticed that his partner was avoiding looking at him.

"Thank you…" Hisoka said simply, his head still low. Growing bold, Tsuzuki cupped the boy's cheek and turned his head to face him. He noticed the blush that was apparent on his cheeks and grinned, which made him blush even more. Taking the shards from the young teen's hands, Tsuzuki walked over to the small trash can and put the broken shards in there while Hisoka went back up to the cabinet and roamed for another cup. He continued to stare at the young teen.

The sound of the kettle going off brought him out of another daydream. Hisoka took the kettle off the stove and poured the water into each cup while Tsuzuki sat back down at the table. Setting the tea down at the table, Hisoka took his seat directly across from Tsuzuki.

"Sorry. It's a bit weak."

"It's okay. I'll just add some sugar to it."

Silence again fell upon the pair again. Tsuzuki continued to stir the spoon around his teacup, wondering what he should do next. 'If I tell him, everything will change…'

"Tsuzuki?"

"Hmmm?"

"Um… It's just… well… forget it…"

Silence again. 'But if I don't tell him now, I will probably regret it… Still…'

"What is it…you want to tell me?"

Tsuzuki looked over at his partner, who was looking down at his teacup. Taking a deep breath, Tsuzuki moved his chair toward his partner, and softly grasped his hand in his own. This caused the young man to look up, a blush across his face.

"Ne, Hisoka, you look cute when you're blushing…"

"Tsuzuki…" A serious tone of warning.

"It's true. I like everything about you. Your blush, your eyes, the way you pout, the way you walk, the way you talk…"

Hisoka was about to protest, but a finger pressed upon his lips. Tsuzuki bent his head close to him, their lips only mere inches apart. His hand reached out to brush the silky blonde bangs away from the teen's eyes. His hand cupped the right side of his cheek and Hisoka closed his eyes.

"No, like isn't the word…" He whispered. He closed the gap between them and brushed his lips against the teens'. His entire body felt warm all over. He pulled Hisoka closer to him and deepened the kiss. His tongue brushed across lips, desperately wanting entrance. Those lips complied to his want. His tongue brushed across the young boy's mouth, savoring the sweet taste.

When they finally parted, both of them were left panting. It only left Tsuzuki wanting more. He was only kept back from doing more when he felt his partner shake.

"Hisoka, what's wrong?"

Deep as the ocean

With every kiss

I'm deeper in your spell

Love me again tonight

You are my one desire

"I'm… scared…"

"Why?"

"Those emotions…" His hand went over his heart. "They were so intense…"

"We don't have to go on. But, I had to let you know how I feel…"

Hisoka shook his head and buried his head into his partner's chest. Tsuzuki gently lifted him from his chair and settled down on the couch, placing the young boy in his lap. He ran his hand through his blonde hair and rocked him gently.

"I love you…" He whispered to him.

"I know…. I love you too…"

"You mean that, Hisoka?"

"Yes… But I was afraid… I still am…" His emerald eyes looked up at his own, looking on the brink of tears. "I still am… No one has ever felt this strongly about me… It scares me so much…"

Tsuzuki continued to rock him gently and smiled. "I'd never hurt you… It scared me at first too… I thought that you deserved better…" His eyes turned away, a bitter grin forming on his face. "How could someone love a monster…?"

"You're not a monster!" His amethyst eyes locked back to the teen. This time, tears were rolling down his cheek. "You're the most humane person I know!"

"Hisoka…"

"Don't you dare ever belittle yourself like that, Tsuzuki! You are who you are! Even if you were a demon, it wouldn't change my feelings about you…"

Tsuzuki felt a hand brush up to his eyes, wiping away the tears that came from them. He reached down and wiped the tears away from Hisoka's eyes.

"It doesn't matter if you're human or not. You are Tsuzuki. I accept you for who you are, not what you are."

Tsuzuki could only smile back at the teen, who returned a smile to him.

"I think that's the first time I saw you smile."

"I think this is the first time I really feel happy…"

Waves of emotion

I know that this

Is where I want to be

Locked in your arms with no key

They held each other for a long time. They didn't even notice when the clock outside Hisoka's house chimed at midnight. They were content enough to hold each other.

"Hisoka, I should go soon… It's past midnight…"

"Please don't go…"

"Hisoka?"

"Please, stay… the night…. I want to know…"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes… I don't think I've ever been more sure before in my life…"

"Hisoka…"

"Just promise me that you'll be gentle…"

"I promise…"

He lifted the young teen into his arms and walked to the bedroom. He placed Hisoka gently on the bed. He stared down at the young teen, caressing his cheek.

"I love you…"

"I love you too…"

Io sono prigionièra

My fate is in your arms tonight

Though love is shining in your eyes

Will you be mine tomorrow -

The next morning, Tsuzuki was aware of two things. One, his body felt extremely sore. And two, there was something warm in his arms. He looked down and sighed to himself.

"Hisoka, it's morning…"

His young lover moaned softly and cuddled closer to him.

"Just a little bit longer…"

He smiled down and kissed his brow. "Okay…"

He closed his eyes and pulled Hisoka closer to him. Never would he have to face another tomorrow alone. He would walk his road together with Hisoka.

For eternity…

Io sono prigionièra

My heart will nevermore be free

A part of you I'll always be

From now until eternity
