Chapter Thirty-Three: Smell of Blood:
Anna wasn't the only woman tapped in danger.
He was getting closer. He arrived on her campus on fifteenth of
August. It didn't take much for him to track her down to her
school. But lucky for Charlotte, he raised the alarm to the other
students.
“There's some creepy guy wandering around campus,” one
female student said. He didn't really try not to stand out. He
didn't make eye contact. The all-black attire was the least to be
worried about. He made his way to the dean's office. He knocked on
the door.
“Enter,” the dean said.
“Excuse me, I'm coming in,” he said. He opened the
door. The dean sat at desk, doing paperwork. He didn't look up.
“Yes?” he asked. The young man walked up to his
desk.
“Uh… I'm looking for somebody,” he mumbled.
“Hm?” the dean asked, not looking up.
“I'm looking for someone.”
The dean glanced up with a dull look on his face. “May I ask
whom?”
“Here.” The young man pulled out his phone. “This
girl here.” The dean took a look.
“I've seen her,” he said. The young man perked up.
“You have?” he asked. “Does she go to this
college?”
“Yes.” The dean looked up. “Tell me, who is she
to you?”
“My ex,” the young man said.

The talk began to spread.
“He's so creepy.”
“Don't look at him.”
“Who is he?”
“What's he doing here?”
“Should we call the police?”
“Does he have any weapons?”
“What does he want?” Their chatter didn't faze him. He
was getting close. Word reached Charlotte through a text.
She heard the chatter around her school. But, she said nothing.
Secretly, she hoped it wasn't him.
“Something wrong, Moore-san?” one of her classmates
asked. Charlotte looked to her left. Her classmate stared at her.
The American woman shook her head.
“I'm fine,” she said. “What is everyone talking
about?”
“Some guy showed up on campus,” the classmate said.
Charlotte's eyes grew wide.
“What did you say?” she asked.
“There's some guy around the campus. He keeps looking around
for something of someone.”
Charlotte froze. She gulped as the color drained from her face. Her
classmate tilted her head.
“Moore-san? Are you alright?” she asked.
“No,” Charlotte said. Suddenly, her cell phone buzzed.
She pulled it out and saw she had a new text. One read and the
woman got up.
“Moore-san?” her classmate asked as Charlotte bolted
out the door. “Moore-san?”

Watari's cell phone rang.
“Hello?” he asked.
“Watari-sensei! Oh good! I'm so glad I caught you,” a
voice on the other line said.
“Takashi-san?” the shinigami asked. “What seems
to be the problem?”
“Charlotte's in danger,” the angel said. “Her ex
is here in Tokyo and he's tracked her down. I need your help to
stop him!”
“Is that one who cut out her heart and put in the
core?” the blonde scientist asked.
“Yes!” Takashi said. “He's at her college right
now! Please hurry!”
“Understood!” Watari said. “I will be right
there. Don't panic.”
“I won't!” Takashi said. The angel hung up. Just then,
April and Kyosuke appeared in the lab.
“The farms are shutting down as planned,” April
said.
“Good,” Watari replied, turning around. “Now,
I've got a new assignment for you.”
“What is it?” Kyosuke asked.
“Come with me,” their manager said. “We're taking
a trip to Todai.” April gave him an odd look.
“What for?” she asked.
“An emergency,” Watari said. He vanished before the
other shinigami could ask. April and Kyosuke followed behind.

Charlotte wandered into the hall. She leaned against the wall,
panting. No… No… She feared this would happen.
But she didn't know how to prepare for it. Charlotte pulled out her
cell phone. I won't go back. I won't go back.
But then, she froze. Charlotte lifted her head. Her heart sank as
the color drained from her face. Her ex stood inches away from her
in the hallway.
“Hello, Eliza-chan,” he said. “Or should I say,
Charlotte-chan.” Charlotte trembled as she took
a step back.
