Yugi- Dead Or Alive Volleyball Player?!

(Author's Notes: Hi, everyone! How are you? Glad to see that you all are anxious to see on what happens next! But first, I would like to extend a warm thank you to a good friend of mine!

Yugi: This lucky person is Elven Angel, and her muse Bowen! She sent a fan art of Meis, Meideose, and myself. She created it in honor of DJ's fanfic, Yugi: Spirit Blacksmith?!

Chapter 19

There are many hardcore fights in the world, but the one being held on Zack Island left them all in the dust! It was a Battle Royale, and it was a sight to see! It was a free-for-all, everyone taking on whom ever they could get! However, two others were not joining the battle. It was Yugi and Serenity, the baby sister of Joey Wheeler keeping a vice-like grip on the small teenager. "Serenity, please. Let me go! I have to stop this!", Yugi said in a raspy voice. The young man did not like to see such violence, especially over him. Serenity shook her head fiercely and replied, "No, Yugi! I will not let you go, just so you can meet your own death!". Some tears slipped out from her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away. Nothing would convince her to let go, no matter what. Meanwhile, the battle was heating up by the minute! Even though the girls and Seto were outnumbered, they fought more fiercely then ever because of that! Kasumi and Ayane were now working together as a team for the first time ever, going up against Hayate and Hayabusa. The shinobi and the ninja used extreme agility and speed to dodge the vicious blows of the male ninjas. "Kasumi, stop this foolishness at once! You know as well as I do you and that weak boy could never be together!", Hayate declared to his sister. That struck Kasumi hard in many ways. The shinobi goddess parried a blow from his katana with her small dagger, and glared hard at her brother. She replied, "Yes, I know that the chances of us being together is very much slim, brother. However, he is a very rare man and I have to at least try to have a relationship with him.". She then went on the offensive, becoming a blue blur and launching a powerful strike towards Hayate's head! He blocked it, but Kasumi whispered to his ear coldly, "Also, Yugi may be weak in body. But, his heart and spirit are unbreakable!".

Ayane used nimble moves and swift kicks to dodge/counter the aggressive attacks of Hayabusa. "Ayane, why do you persist in protecting Yugi? He is very much different from you.", the masked ninja said before he launched a ramming shoulder attack. Ayane rolled out of the way, getting up and taking up a fighting stance once more. "I want to protect him because he is rare and special. He sees the good in people, even if the person him/herself cannot see it.", she replied before executing a quick, well-formed flip-kick. Hayabusa was knocked facedown in the dirt, but rolled away when Ayane tried to smash his head with her foot. She continued, "He wants to bring it out, to help them become better beings. Others just turn a blind eye and walk away, or ignoring the person completely.". Hayabusa's face remained emotionless, cool as ice. He retorted, "A being like that can only exist in the mind. You can't possibly expect me to believe that Yugi is that being brought to life.". Ayane smirked as she countered Hayabusa's speedy dash-like punch to her face. She replied, "It used to matter to me in the past, Hayabusa. Not anymore! Yugi is that being, and he is certainly worth the fight!". With speed unmatched by even Hayabusa, Ayane delivered three quick jabs to the face, two spin punches, and one beautifully executed flip-kick! Hayabusa was knocked down hard, and he actually staggered back up to his feet! 'This is going to be one long fight!', Ayane mused as she went on the offensive once more.

Seto punched Yami in the face hard, and when the ex-ruler of Egypt tried to retaliate with some Shadow magic, Cas came in and gave him a good shoulder ram from behind! However, Cas paid the price by being hammered from behind by Tea and Mai. "You need to watch your back around here, honey!", Mai said sarcastically as she and Tea smirked at the fallen woman. She was shut up, however, by Lisa who gave both women a good kick to the stomach area. She helped the young woman up, and Cas thanked her for it. "No problem, Cas. Now, let Seto and Yami work things out on their own.", the brown-haired beauty replied. Cas smirked wickedly as she set her sights on Tea Gardner. "Right then. How about you and I kick some Duelist butt?!", she exclaimed before launching a powerful thrust kick to Tea's ample chest. The brunette yelped in pain before being slammed down to the hard earthen ground. Lisa also joined in the fun by giving Mai as strong German Suplex! Seto gave off his cocky smirk at Yami and said, "Well, so now we finally face each other rather then dueling.". He cracked his knuckles before adding, "I'm so going to enjoy bringing you down more then a notch, you egotistical ex-pharaoh.". Yami dusted himself off as he rose up from the ground. He growled, "You know, at first I wanted to come here and discipline Yugi for leaving without permission.". The tri-colored teenager swiftly threw several punches at the CEO of Kaiba Corp., but the blue-eyed businessman blocked all of them. Yami retreated back somewhat and continued, "Now, I figured that I could do the world a favor. And that's to get rid of weak, disobedient brats like him!".

Seeing the complete shock on Seto's face, Yami capitalized with a vicious roundhouse kick! Seto recovered nicely, but was still very much surprised on what Yami had just declared. He growled and stated, "Not while I still breathe, bub. Yugi gave a lot of what he had to save me and Mokuba numerous times, and it's high time I returned the debt of honor!". Yami and Seto circled each other, intent on finishing this brawl once and for all! They were about to go at it, when something strange happened. The ground beneath them started to shake slightly, and rumbling could be heard. "What was that?!", Duke asked in mid-punch, his target being Hitomi. Yugi, whose head and the rest of his upper body was hugged tightly to Serenity's chest, looked up and his violet eyes widened in fear. 'It… can't be?! I've suspected this all along, but now?!', he thought. The fighting ceased when the rumblings continued to grow in intensity and frequency. Yugi managed to pull himself away from Serenity and stand up, but the woman still held onto him as she stood up as well. "What is going on?!", Helena exclaimed. Her answer came to her when suddenly, the volcano exploded! Lava and chunks of magma started to pour out from the crater, telling everyone that they were all in big trouble!

Screaming was heard as the groups made a run for it from the lava and falling magma rocks, Yugi being supported by Kasumi and Cas as he ran with them. "What shall we do?!", Helena exclaimed over the rumblings and screaming. As if on cue, they heard a large horn blow. One of the ships that brought Hayate and the boys was ready to depart from the harbor. "That ship is still here! We can use it to escape from this place!", Janne Lee exclaimed. Seeing that it was their only choice, all of them streaked towards the harbor. They passed the hotel, but something caught their attention. "Help me! Somebody, please help me!", came a plea from above. Yugi stopped, as did Zack when the four looked up and saw that it was Zack's girlfriend Niki calling for help! "She must be stuck on the top floor somehow!", Yugi said to himself. She waved to Zack frantically, practically screaming for help. Zack just shook his head and streaked towards the harbor with the others. "Sorry, girl! You on your own!", he yelled back at her. He had just deserted his woman to save his own skin! Yugi paid little attention to Zack, studying the surrounding area quickly. With the ground shaking violently, and the lava flow quickly covering more ground, the building would not be able to stay stable for long. Even as we speak, it was starting to crumble. Yugi then came to a decision. He broke from the embrace of Kasumi and Cas and ran-wobbled over to the entrance to the hotel. "Yugi?! What are you doing?!", Cas exclaimed. He answered, "I'm going in to save her!".

Serenity went to him and yelled out, "Are you insane?! You can't!". Helena went over to him as well and added, "She is right, Yugi! In your condition, you can't make it up in time!". Yugi shook his head with grim determination and replied, "Maybe, but I have to try! All of you, go back to the ship and get on it! I'll meet you there later!". Kasumi and Cas tried to reason with him to leave Zack's girlfriend, for they feared that they would lose him as well. Yugi gave off one of his trademark grins, and soothingly reassured the ladies that he would return safe and sound with Niki as well. Seeing that he was not going to change his mind, Kasumi offered to go with him. "You can't do this alone, so I'm going with you!" she said with a tone that held for no argument. Yugi didn't give her one, seeing that he would need help. Cas wanted to help too, but Yugi said that it was too dangerous for her. "I don't want you to get hurt because of me.", he told her. She was about to protest, when Ayane stepped in. "I'll help Kasumi out with protecting Yugi. You and the rest get to the ship now!", she told the worried woman. Before leaving, the entire girl squad (minus Mai and Tea) gave Yugi a quick kiss for good luck. He was blushing like mad after that, but quickly shook it off. "Come on, ladies! We got to hurry!", he told them. Putting up no argument, the two buxom beauties ran with their crush up towards the crumbling building, soon burning because of falling magma rocks.

Going past scared and frightened workers, Yugi and his two girl friends made their way to the stairs. Knowing full well that it was very dangerous to go in an elevator at the time, the trio opted for the stairs. 'It's a long climb, but it's a bit safer.', Yugi mused as he and the girls scaled upward to the very top floor! As the continued to ascend, the rooms and floor beneath them started to slowly fill up with burning lava! In fifty minutes, the trio finally reached the top floor where Zack's deluxe suite was. Going through a narrow corridor, the hero and the heroines came to a large, elaborate double door. "We got to hurry! We're losing time!", Kasumi exclaimed. Nodding with her half-sister, both ladies kicked the door down hard! Yugi was about to go in with them, when a speeding blur ran into him full force! She tumbled onto the carpet floor, Yugi underneath her. Yugi looked up, and was staring into the golden eyes of a very beautiful woman. With short white-hair, medium-brown skin, luscious lips, and curves in all the right places beneath a purple silk evening dress, it was no wonder Zack had her for a girlfriend. She looked to be around 26 or so, but Yugi couldn't tell at this point. Kasumi helped her up, while Ayane lifted Yugi to his feet. "Who are you?!", Niki asked in a panicked voice. Yugi replied, "No time for introductions! Right now, we got to leave this place now!". He thought worriedly, 'Because if I'm right, this entire island is going to explode soon and go right into the water!'. Niki thanked them all for coming to save them, then started to make their way back down from 120 stories high!

They were on the 78th floor when Yugi saw that the entire place was now being filled up by lava! That, and also the building was starting to fall apart like a sand castle that was too close to the shoreline! "We can't go back up, and we can't go down!", Kasumi exclaimed. Debris from above started to come down on them, large chunks of plaster raining down on them hard. "We got to go back up! Listen, I have a plan to get us out of here!", Yugi told them all while avoiding some of the debris. Knowing that an explanation would have to wait, Kasumi and Ayane guided the young man and Niki back up. When they reached the 80th floor, a piece of burning plaster slammed straight down on Yugi's back! "Yugi!!", was the collective yell from Kasumi and Ayane. Yugi, by sheer will and force, tried to remove the piece off of him. It was of no use. His strength was being sapped away quickly, and he felt that his back was being burned up. Kasumi and Ayane heaved the piece off of him, and helped him back up on his feet. He gave a grateful smile to the girls, then proceeded to go on. The three ladies were quite impressed by Yugi's show of sheer will and might to continue onward, especially in the condition he was in right now. In fifteen minutes, they reached the 85th floor. Yugi opened a door, and pushed it open. Entering a decorated room, he and the girls went over to the window. When they looked down from it, they experienced a bit of vertigo. "How are we going to get down now?!", Niki exclaimed. Yugi then started to concentrate, with all the remaining strength he had left. 'This is going to take a LOT out of me, but I don't care! I need to get us out!', he thought. The building was now ready to implode on itself completely, everything crumbling like dust! The girls hugged Yugi tightly as tears came down their faces, ready to meet Death. However, Yugi suddenly started to glow in a bright golden light!

~Meanwhile~

The large ship was sailing onward at full speed away from the island. They had all managed to come aboard, but now all of them were at the rear of the ship, looking intently at the island. "Do you think Yugi will come back?", Tina asked all of the girls. Cas nodded furiously and replied, "Yes, he will come back!". Suddenly, the island's volcano exploded violently! The island started to sink into the sea rapidly, and the resulting implosion of it was a massive tidal wave! "Everyone, hang on tight!", the captain ordered via intercom. The group held onto either a railing, or another person as the tidal wave hit hard! The ship was lurched upward, water splashing onto some of them and causing them to slip downward of the deck. In a few moments, the ship lurched back downward. It meant that the wave had passed. Everyone regained their footing, and scrambled back up to see on what happened. What they saw shocked them completely. The island was gone. All that was left was part of the Zack statue, its finger still above the water. Various assortments of beach objects floated by, some intact and some burned badly. "Yugi!!", was the collective cry from the ladies. For a moment, they thought he and the others were dead. Cas and Serenity sunk to their knees, as did Hitomi and Lei Fang. They were sobbing loudly, along with the rest, when someone yelled out, "Hey, what is that?!". It came from Bass, and he was pointing at something over the former island. The girls got up, and soon set their attention at the tiny glowing dot that was hovering in the air. Suddenly, their hearts started to beat faster then ever before! "Can it… be?!", Cas whispered in hope. It was…
