Heart of Darkness
Hel: Okay, I have no idea how I'm going to do this. I just suddenly got the inspiration to write a crossover between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Gravitation. Crazy, right? Anyway, I hope you all enjoy, and I hope I can make this work. ^_^;; OH, and I think it would be cool if characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! were in a band too. Guess who the singer is?
Shuichi: Me!
Hel: No…well, you are a singer, just for a different band.
Shuichi: Yeah! Bad Luck forever!
Yugi: O_O You want to have bad luck?
Shuichi: >_< Not that kind of Bad Luck!
Hel: Boys, just relax!
Yuki: Shuichi, shut up.
Shuichi: You said my name! I love you!!
Yami: Yugi, what are you doing?
Yugi: I have a new friend. ::drags Shuichi over to meet Yami::
Hel: Okay -_-;; let's move on…
Heart of Darkness
Yugi walked slowly down the streets of domino City in despair. The night was harshly cold, frost bit roughly at his nose. He wore only a simple black tee and thin onyx jeans. Around his neck was a thick black, silver studded collar. The petite teen shivered, wrapped his arms around himself, and proceeded down the dark street as white snowflakes began to descend. His breath came in short puffs, made visible by the cold. Yugi stumbled, falling down onto the sidewalk. The boy whimpered, unable to force his tired and worn body to go on. Drawing air into his lungs sharply, he curled up and prepared for what was going to be a long, terrible night.
~~ ^_^ ~~
"Yuki! Yuki! Wake up and look outside!" Shuichi, a pink-haired rock star, gazed through the window, his eyes alight with childlike innocence. "It snowed last night!"
"Shut up." Yuki, a young blond romance novelist with piercing golden eyes, growled. It was still very early and Yuki was still in bed; looking over at Shuichi, he tossed a pillow at the other, but he held a kind a soft smile, hidden by a mound of blankets.
Shuichi bolted out the door so fast he managed to trip on the last stair and fly head first into a rather large pile of snow, but he didn't let that spoil his excitement. Standing right back up, the pink-haired man gazed around at the untouched white fluff all around him that glittered as the sun rose. Then Shuichi frowned. On the sidewalk was a patch of odd-looking flurry, as if the snow had buried something as it fell. Curiously, the rock star trampled through the six inches of snow, grabbed onto the object, and pulled. It was a bit heavier then expected, so he simply pulled harder. He saw a flash of skin.
Now in a panic, Shuichi dug furiously, then pulled again, this time the person came loose. By this time, Shuichi had started screaming for Yuki as he realized there was a small boy hidden under the snow. Shuichi Shindou then gathered the little teen into his arms and rushed back inside, where his lover was brewing coffee.
Having not heard his lover yelling, Yuki nearly dropped his cup when he saw his boyfriend carry a small child into house and laying him carefully on the floor. Shuichi continued to yell for Yuki. The petite boy had tall spiky hair of black with red tips. Blond bangs fell to frame his angelic face breathtakingly. Thick black eyelashes kissed the young one's pale, bluish cheeks. The blond-haired novelist quickly went to get a blanket and instructed Shindou to try and warm him up by rubbing his arms. Eiri Yuki returned and helped his koi warm up the boy, bringing color back to his formerly blue skin. After a while, there was nothing more they could do, so Eiri and Shuichi waited.
"So you found him buried under the snow and brought him inside?" Yuki asked. Shuichi nodded. Yuki thought of something and began to go through the boy's pockets, ignoring the teen's backpack.
"What are you doing!?" Shuichi practically shrieked.
"I'm seeing if he had any identification on him." Yuki calmly replied, pulling a black wallet from the other's pocket. Inside was a photo ID, naming him one Yugi Moutu, age 17. Searching further, Yuki found something rather interesting: three photos. Two were of men, one looking like the boy on the floor, and the other having snow-white hair and chocolate-colored eyes. The other was of a group playing band instruments. He showed them to Shuichi, thinking that the other could identify the young one by the band picture. The rock-star only looked baffled.
A small noise emitted from the teen on the floor as Yugi's eyes blinked open. He sat up and looked around. The little one's eyes were shockingly deep violet, as dark and a beautiful as amethyst gems.
"W-where am I?" he asked timidly, unsure of what was going on. Shuichi smiled warmly.
"You're at our place." He informed, "We found you outside in the snow. I'm Shuichi Shindou and this is Eiri Yuki."
Yugi's eyes widened, then he jumped up and bowed, thanking them repeatedly for their help. The boy's exotic hair was so eye-catching that they just stared at him. He blushed hotly and turned his eyes to the ground, then seemed to think of something, as if something in his mind just clicked. Yugi's head snapped back up.
"W-wait, E-Eiri Yuki and S-Shuichi Shindou?" He asked in a soft, quiet voice. He smiled. "I-I'm Yugi Moutu, a big fan of both of you."
"Really? That's great!" Shuichi exclaimed, jumping up.
"I-I'm impressed Bad Luck has done so well, even better then us." Yugi commented.
"Us?" Yuki questioned. The violet-eyed teen nodded.
"Y-yeah, I-I sing in a band called Dark Heart. We came up right under you." Upon hearing that, Shuichi felt a little guilty for being so wrapped up in Bad Luck, ASK, and Nittle Grasper not to notice there was another group climbing the charts.
"Shuichi, you should get ready, K's going to be here to pick you up soon." The oldest male interrupted.
"Y-you have work today too?" Yugi questioned softly. The other nodded and smiled, then looked concerned.
"Yeah," he answered, "but if you work, then maybe you should stay here, you look a little pale."
"I-it's alright," Yugi replied, "I-I'll be fine, thank you."
Just then the door blew open and a rather large blond-haired, blue-eyed American stepped inside. Both singers jumped and hid behind Yuki instinctively, shaking. The novelist, having long since gotten used to this, only puffed on his cigarette. It was K, Shuichi's manager. The American held a magnum pointed straight at Eiri.
"I suggest you move unless you'd like a taste." K informed Yuki, who shrugged and went off to his study. Yugi and Shuichi had automatically latched onto one another and were trembling. "Now Shuichi- … wait, who's this?" He nudged Yugi with the barrel of his gun. The small boy tried to hide behind the pink-haired singer.
"I-I'm Y-Yugi Moutu, y-you know, from Dark Heart." Yugi introduced, then found himself being pulled away from Shuichi and suspended by the scruff of his neck. Shuichi was the same. It appears K had grabbed them both.
"In that case, I'll give you a ride with Shuichi, you don't mind, do you?" K asked. Yugi shook his head, not knowing what would happen if he refused, but not wishing to find out.
"BYE YUKI!" Shuichi yelled as he and Yugi were carried out the door.
Once in the car, Shuichi assured the smaller teen that he was not going to be shot now that they were on their way to the office. The pink-haired man thought for a moment, wondering if Dark Heart was another band with N-G. If not, then Yugi wasn't going to the right place. Then again, K knew a lot about the music industry and their rivals, it was possible the blond already knew everything about Yugi and was only humoring him by asking for his name. He shook his head, it was all too confusing.
"So, what instruments are in your band?" Shuichi asked to make conversation. "We have a keyboardist and a guitarist."
"We have a guitarist, a drummer, and a keyboardist." Yugi answered. "Your guitarist, Hiroshi Nakano is one of the best I've seen, and I can say the same for Suguru Fujisaki about keyboarding."
"You really think so?" Shuichi asked, being modest, he knew how good they were. "Who's in your band?"
"Well, Yami Atemu is my guitarist, Bakura Atemu is the drummer, and Ryou Bakura is the keyboardist. They're all great." Yugi replied.
"Ooh, can I come in while your practicing and watch you rehearsal?" Shuichi asked, eyes alight with the prospect of more music.
"We'll see about that." K stated from the drover's seat, holding up a magnum.
"Uh, I-if you can, so long as we can listen to you as well." Yugi answered, eyeing K's automotive weapon. Shuichi grinned.
As soon as they arrived at the studio, Shuichi grabbed Yugi's hand and ran into the building, not wanting the teen to go his own direction just yet. They were into the elevator and ready to go, but K called for them to wait, so they did. Upon entering the studio, Shuichi greeted everyone the way he normally did.
"LA LI HO!" he yelled, loud enough to shake the walls. Yugi trailed behind a bit, his hand still held captive by the pink-haired rock star.
"Hey, Shuichi." Hiroshi greeted warmly, wondering who the tag-a-long was, unable to get a clear view since the person was somewhat behind his friend.
"Hello." Suguru replied, playing a bit on his keyboard.
"Good morning, Shuichi." Sakano, their stressful producer replied as he made tea, then he noticed the other person. "Who's your friend?" he asked, not totally paying attention.
"Everyone, this is Yugi Moutu, the singer for Dark Heart." He announced, pushing Yugi in front of him.
Yugi looked at everyone and smiled sheepishly, twiddling his fingers shyly. Suguru turned off his keyboard to be polite, Sakano poured another cup of tea for their guest, K just watched, and Hiro held his hand out. Yugi shook hands with Hiro and began to relax a bit, seeing how friendly the guitarist was being.
"H-hi." He greeted. Then chaos unleashed.
"Shuichi! The president is going to kill me, bringing another singer in here when you're supposed to be practicing! It's all over…" The rest of his woes were stopped, however, by K, who simply pistol-whipped him, knocking him out.
"Don't worry about it, Shuichi." K smiled. Suguru shook his head and walked over to Yugi, who was a bit shorter then him, and shook hands.
"So, I heard your music on Name That Tune, it was pretty good." He stated. "You look different on stage, but then again, so does Shuichi." He laughed.
"I love your keyboarding, but I was wondering, when you use a B-sharp on the fifteenth measure of Rage Beat, why do you make it an eighth note, rather then a quarter note to follow the four four time measure?" Yugi asked curiously, hoping he wasn't being rude. When Suguru just blinked and stared at him, as well as everyone else in the room, he added, "I-I didn't mean it sounded bad, I-I was just wondering h-how you pulled it off without disrupting the beat."
Suguru's eyes teared up and he smiled, "No one's ever asked me that before! I'd be more then happy to tell you!" He then launched into a full-blown explanation, going into details.
"Wow, Suguru, you might want to slow down there for a moment before you start speaking another language." Hiro interrupted, making the keyboard player blush a bit.
"I-it's alright, I-I was following you." Yugi answered timidly, "When my keyboardist, Ryou Bakura, talks about it, it's much with the same passion that fills your voice." He smiled cutely.
"It's hard to believe that little shy guy is a singer." Hiro commented to Shuichi. The pink-haired man nodded, then grinned broadly. "Uh oh, Shuichi has an idea."
"Yugi! Let's sing together!" He declared.
"O-okay, I-if you want to," Yugi agreed, "but I think I'm going to have to take a rain check on that; my band's probably wondering where I went. It was nice meeting all of you and I hope we do get to sing together soon Shuichi." With that, he bowed and walked out the door.
"Well, now that that's finished for now, you guys get practicing." K announced, waking up Sakuma.
"K, why is it you weren't bugging us to get to work when Yugi was here?"
"Well, Hiro, I simply believe that talking to Yugi was good for you. In fact, you should all go to Dark Heart's next concert."
"What? Why? Aren't they our rivals?" Suguru questioned suspiciously.
"Yay! Concert!" Shuichi yelled, then began dancing.
"Not exactly." Sakano answered, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "You see, they play a different type of music, so there's not much competition. I mean, their band attracts a totally different crowd."
"I see." Hiro mumbled. Tears welled up in Shuichi's eyes.
"Does that mean we can't sing together?" He inquired.
"Of course not." K replied, "You can sing with him." He thought for a moment, then decided to ask, "How did you meet him anyway?" The others turned to Shuichi, wondering the same thing.
"Oh, early this morning I went outside and I found him buried in the snow. Yuki is so smart, he knew how to fix him up right away!" They stared.
"What was he doing outside buried under the snow?" Hiro asked himself, then turned to Shuichi. "Do you think someone buried him?"
"No way, he had to have laid there all night for the snow to cover him the way it did." The singer replied.
Jaws dropped, amazed that the small teen was up and walking after having spent the night outside in a snowstorm. K noticed they were getting off track and clapped his hands, announcing that everyone had to get to work, or they'd all be shot. Each of the band members sprang into action, going over to their instruments, or in Shuichi's case, the mike, and preparing to start practicing.
~~ ^_^ ~~
Yugi walked down the hall and to the elevator, wondering what time it was and if everyone was waiting for him. Well, they could practice the songs without him; they just wouldn't sound the same. Sighing, the violet-eyed boy got off the elevator and walked down the corridor of the third floor, where he accidentally bumped into the rather large person heading in the opposite direction. Apologizing quickly, he looked up into the face of Bad Luck's manager, K.
"H-how d-did you- I-I mean, w-when-" he stuttered, consisted on how the other got there before him. K simply smiled.
"Yugi, I was hoping to catch you." He answered. "I wanted to talk to you about your next concert. It this Friday, right?"
"Uh, y-yeah, over at the stage in KaibaLand. My m-manager Malik Ishtar got us in." Yugi answered, wondering where this was going.
"Perhaps Bad Luck could do a duet with Dark Heart. Shuichi seems interested in singing with you, after all."
"T-that would mean two keyboards, two guitars, a drum, and two singers." Yugi stammered in astonishment.
"Yep, the biggest concert ever to be seen near KaibaLand." K responded.
"You'd have to talk to my manager, b-but I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Shuichi and I would have to figure out what we were going to sing, though."
"Considering you're both great artists, I'm sure you'll do fine." K replied secretively and walked with Yugi the rest of the way to his sound room.
Inside Bakura, Yami, and Ryou were tuning up their instruments. They all wondered who was with Yugi when he walked in and why he was so late. Malik walked around the corner, carrying a tray of cups containing an unknown substance. Then he spotted K, knowing the other manager on site, his eyes narrowed darkly. Marik walked out from the same room, slightly disheveled. He happened to be Dark Heart's producer.
"What do you want?" Malik asked the manager.
"Only to ask you a favor." K replied. "For Dark Heart and Bad Luck to play together in KaibaLand."
"I think it's a good idea, Malik. I met them today and Shuichi is really eager to sing together." Yugi added.
"If you mean what I think you mean, there will be a lot of problems with choreography. How are we going to get that many instruments to fit on one stage comfortably without overcrowding the place? It's impossible."
"Not impossible." K countered, "Difficult maybe, but not impossible."
"Let's talk more in my office, maybe we can arrange something." Malik stated, beginning to like the idea. He and K walked into the adjoining office and closed the door.
Yami turned to Yugi and kissed him full on the lips, having obviously been wanting to do that since the other walked in the door. The smaller boy leaned into the kiss, knowing Bakura was either making puking motions behind them or laying a wet one on Ryou. It was more likely to be the latter.
"I missed you, Aibou." Yami said when they broke apart. Yugi giggled.
"I was only gone for one day."
"I know."
"Oh, would you guys get a room?" Marik grumbled. His koi was in the office talking with K. They ignored him.
Yami wrapped his arms around his little one lovingly. Ryou and Bakura were cuddling in the corner, knowing they wouldn't have to work until their manager came out and made them. Just then, the door to the office opened and K walked out with Malik. The couples quickly sprang apart as if doused with water and began pretending to be interested in something else. It was too obvious to K what had been going on.
"Uh, so K, w-will we be playing with Bad Luck?" Yugi faltered, hoping the American hadn't noticed anything. He seemed slightly out of breath.
"Yes, and it will be at KaibaLand on Saturday." He answered, noticing how nervous everyone in the room suddenly became. He smiled assuringly, hoping they got the message. "There will be no problems with Bad Luck being busy that day, and I'll arrange for Yugi and Shuichi to get together and figure out songs."
"G-great." Yugi replied, looking a bit relieved. "C-can you ask him if he's f-free tomorrow?"
"Sure I can, and I know he is." K responded, then bid them farewell and walked out the door. As soon as it closed, he heard Malik yelling.
"What were you guys thinking doing that with him here?!?!" He screamed. "If he saw you, you're careers would be over, now get back to work."
"Yes Malik." They replied in unison. K smiled and walked away, returning to Bad Luck's studio, where the band was hard at work yelling at Shuichi.
"Don't you remember the lyrics?" Suguru asked hotly as the singer stopped them for the millionth time.
"Um, sure I do." He replied, obviously lying. "I, uh, just got to think for a minute…" Shuichi then saw K come in and started talking to him, eager for a distraction. "K! Where did you go?"
"I just arranged for us to sing in KaibaLand with Dark Heart. Shuichi and Yugi are going to talk about their songs tomorrow afternoon." The American replied.
"I can't, Yuki and I are-" he was cut off when a magnum was shoved in his face. The pink-haired singer sweat-dropped. "Uh, I can make it."
"Good." He stated, removing the gun. "Now get back to work."
The following day Shuichi waited for Yugi to show up as Yuki typed away at his computer, ignoring the shorter man. When the doorbell finally rang, it was the blond novelist who went to answer the door since his lover had to make a short bathroom break. On his doorstep happened to be the little teen he and Shuichi had helped just the previous day. They just looked at one another for a moment before words were spoken.
"Yes?" Yuki asked the shy boy.
"Um, I-is Shuichi home?" Yugi asked politely.
"Yeah," Yuki responded, letting the other inside. "You can wait for him on the couch, but I have to get back to work. He should be out in a minute."
"O-okay." Yugi replied. He sat on the couch as instructed and watched as the tall blond went back to his study and began typing away at the computer. The violet-eyed singer thought about Shuichi and wondered how they could've become a couple.
Soon, the pink-haired singer walked out of the bathroom, completely refreshed, not knowing that his guest had already arrived. Shuichi ran into the front room and jumped full force onto the couch. Luckily, Yugi had seen the singer coming and managed to move out of the way just in time. He laughed at the other's antics, which caused the taller to notice his presence.
"Hi Yugi!" Shuichi greeted. Yugi smiled back shyly.
"Hello Shuichi." He replied. "Are you ready?"
"Ready?" Shuichi asked, confused. The petite hikari only giggled. Realization hit the pink-haired singer. "Oh, you mean to figure out songs to sing!"
"Yep." Yugi answered.
"Hey you two, I'm trying to work." Yuki yelled at them, "Go somewhere else."
Yugi and Shuichi thought about it for a moment before deciding to go to the park, where it was sure to be quiet and secluded, considering it was a Tuesday. They left promptly after Yuki started complaining again. In fact, the two singers rushed out the door as quickly as they could manage and raced to the park. Shuichi won the race, though, due to his longer legs.
"Yay! I win." Shuichi yelled loudly in the secluded forest-like park. "Now, what are you and I going to sing together?"
"Oh…well my band doesn't play like yours does…" They both grew silent for a moment in thought.
"I know! How about you sing one of your songs here, and I'll listen." Shuichi suggested, wondering how Yugi sang.
"Uh, okay…" Yugi replied, then thought for a moment to decide which song he wanted to sing. It wasn't long before his voice rang out through the trees and Shuichi sat on the bench as the captive audience.

INSERT SONG
"Wow, that was great!"
