Across The Stars

Chapter 7: The weeks go by...

And the realms collide?

~four weeks later, a.k.a. one month later...>.>~

~Kim's P.o.V.~

I flopped down on my bed in exhaustion. Being a mother again along with being a college student and a wife was tiresome. But I'd never been happier. Within the last month, Seto had moved down to live closer to my college, and I had my whole family, including Reika and Aerylis who were almost 3 years old now, back. As of now, however, we were just living in an apartment, until a new house was built.

Sarah, Meg, Jack, Will, Rowan and Tory...all lived in a penthouse apartment, thanks quite a bit to Seto, up in Toronto. Max was still in the old dorm, where InuYasha had moved in comfortably with her. Too comfortably for my taste...I still blamed the mutt for what happened to her at the frat party. But me and Max, after having a long discussion on the phone where she had apoligized profusely for the punch and I'd aplogized, without really meaning it, for butting into her life and her relationship; had decided that we wouldn't argue and would actually act like sisters, like we really were. I'd made excuses for the fact that Maxine had seemed a bit bitter, for my own sake...one of them lying the blame on her family, which was reasonable I guess, considering she always did the same...she was "easily influenced" by her family and it just...upset her to think of it.

So I had to act like her sister and take care of her and just be there for her.

But I also had my own life and was taking care of two two year old twin girls and doing college homework and still making time to spend with Seto...doing..."wifely" things.

I told Max off only a few times though...I told her she was crazy because she was bringing the shit she gets from me, at least, on herself. She turned to look at me and just nodded and said,"I'm sorry." and left for her class.

Other than that though, things were slowly turning around for us again. At least...I was happy.

I closed my eyes, blissful in the silence. The door creaked open and the bed shifted slightly and lips met mine. I kissed back, whispering,"I love you..." as I slipped off Seto's shirt. He placed a row of kisses along my neck, slipping off my shirt as he continued down to my shoulder blade. Within a few seconds our pants were on the floor, along with a few unnamed undergarments. And under the covers we went...

"I brought the vodka!" Max called from downstairs. Seto pulled away and fell off the bed. "Shit..." I muttered. I attempted to find my clothes and ending up slipping on Seto's shirt, my jeans and his socks. He had on my shirt which was rather tight, his jeans and my socks....which happened to be Happy Bunny ones. I rushed downstairs,"You're early!" I called to her. "No...I'm late actually...by like, an hour!" Max called back. Seto stumbled next to be, attempting to catch his breath. I rolled my eyes and slipped off his shirt as he threw me my bra and gave me my shirt off his back, then we both stumbled down into the kitchen. We were both panting and my hair was sticking up. Seto was barely breathing. And of course, we were both a bit...flustered. "Where's InuYasha?" I asked before she turned around from fixing two drinks. "Who?" she asked in confusion. I perked a brow,"Excuse me...are you fighting with him?" I asked. "With who now--" she screamed before finishing and dropped the two shot glasses, having them shatter on the floor. She backed into the wall and stared at me...well...at the guy beside me, Seto. Seto looked horrified and confused as I just...flipped out a bit,"What Max? What?" I asked, putting my hands on her shoulders,"Calm down hun..." She was shaking,"Is that...who I think..." she mumbled, fumbling around with her hand over the counter top,"I need to get out of here...get some sleep..." her fingers closed around her car keys but I stopped her. "What the fuck Maxine? Where's InuYasha?" I repeated. "Who are you talking about Kim? Have you gone...have you had too many drinks...have I had too many drinks?" she asked in a daze. I blinked,"Max...hun calm down...I'm calling InuYasha..." I said, guiding her to a chair as I dialed the dorm for InuYasha.

"Hello?" he answered. "What the fuck did you do now?" I asked impatiently. "What?!" he shouted. "I don't know, what InuYasha?" I asked,"Maxine is acting like she's never seen Seto and she's acting as if she doesn't know you..." He muttered,"I don't know...something's wrong...she's not...herself..." I rolled my eyes,"Well duh, obviously..." I said. "I think...I have to go, I have an idea...but it's tricky...remember the frat party?" he asked. "Duh," I replied. "I think Naraku...switched something...someone..." he said, thoughtfully. That was a first... "Switched?" I repeated. "Yea, I'm going to figure this out...let Maxine...I dunno...have her come back to the dorm..." he said quickly and just hung up.

So I had no choice, I let her go, telling her to go back to her dorm and get some sleep...

This was too freaky...

~about one hour later...~

~Maxine's P.o.V.~

I drove slowly, my mind reeling. Kim had hesitantly, and finally, let me go back to my dorm. I was glad for this...I needed sleep...or...something. I sighed and muttered,"You need to stay off the alcohol Maxine..." to myself. I blinked, shaking my head and as I opened my eyes, I regretted it. I screamed as I almost hit the two people walking across the street. An arguing couple. The reason I screamed as I hit the brakes was the look of the girl...what she looked like...

She stared back, shaking her head...

It was...
