Bottle of Rum, Pills and Fate

Chapter 4: Last Day til Freedom, One more fight, In The Office

~...a few weeks later...~

~Sarah's P.o.V.~

I fell out of bed and woke up from my nightmare...then I realized the nightmare had really happened, weeks before when me, Max, Meg and Kim had stopped talking. I groaned and stood up, yawning, throwing a pillow lightly at Will,"Wake up..." I mumbled sleepily and walked into the bathroom to get ready. Last day of school before summer break...well...day before last. I had one day of summer school because of the fight I got into. I ran my hand over the small bump on my lip and sighed, changing into light jeans and a pastel colored shirt. I missed them...but I couldn't forgive any of them for what they did. "Will wake up..." I said, walking out of the bathroom and throwing another random, but soft, thing at his head. He grumbled and rolled over, looking at me. I smiled lightly,"Last day of school...for you..." I said. He smiled back,"I'll go tomorrow and sit with you, alright?" I nodded,"Thanks..." He crawled out of bed and put on a shirt and walked over to me, pulling me into a hug, kissing my forehead,"Love you..." he said. "Love you too..." I whispered, kissing him on the lips. He chuckled and ran his hand through my shoulder length, brown hair. "Now I don't wanna leave..." he said. I smiled,"Get ready for school..." I said, kissing him one more time and throwing him jeans while walking out of our bedroom. I yawned again and checked the clock, 7:45, we were running late again. "WILL HURRY UP!" I shouted, and he grabbed me from behind, lifting me easy. I squealed as he took our backpacks and carried me out the door, laughing. He put me down so I could get in the car and we drove to school, just making it at the bell.

We ran to our first class and slid into the room, Meg glanced up from her seat and immediately acted like she was looking past us. I sighed and slid into the seat in front of her, Will sitting next to me. The teacher called attention and we started our final exams in English. Then I felt a poke in the back of my neck, I looked at Will and he glanced behind me, rolling his eyes. "...stop it..." I hissed. The poke grew harder,"...stop it Meg..." I whispered again. "Make me..." she whispered back. I scooted my chair forward a bit. I felt a hard poke again and sighed,"Meaghan Ashley Sparrow, knock it off..." I said, a bit louder this time. A few other people raised their heads and watched while Meaghan continued to poke me in the neck. Our senoir prom had been a week before and I had amazingly won prom queen. I don't if Meg was jealous of just being completely mean about it but I just wished she'd stop being like that. I took a breath,'Don't...over react...' I thought to myself. She continued to poke me harder and harder until finally...I over reacted. I jumped up and turned around, going in her face,"KNOCK IT OFF MEAGHAN!" I yelled. She blinked and leaned back, surprised. The teacher stood up and walked over to us,"Is there something wrong here ladies?!" he asked. I glared at her. "Is there..." the teacher muttered. "Yes, sir...Meaghan was disturbing my test..." I replied, still glaring at her. Everyone was watching us. "What do you think you did when you had that outburst, Mrs. Turner?" the teacher asked. I flushed a bit red. The teacher tapped his foot,"To the principal's office, the both of you, you can re-do the test tomorrow in summer school," he said finally. I glared at Meaghan again and took my backpack, walking out the door. She followed me closely and muttered quietly,"Smooth Sarah...very smooth...thanks a fucking lot...a whole damn fucking lot, bitch..." I stopped and turned around,"Shut...up..." I whispered, right in her face. She ground her heel into my toe and I gave a small yelp, glaring at her as she smirked. "Fuck off Sarah..." she muttered, pushing me. "Don't push me..." I said, pushing her back, too strong, she fell to the ground and I kept walking. She got up and walked behind me quietly, not another word was spoken between us.

We got to the office and sat down in the lobby. Only one person was there with us. Maxine...she glanced over at us. I looked over at her, she looked awful. There were bags under her eyes and her face was so pale, it looked grey. I perked a brow and was about to say something when all of us got called into the office. The principal looked at the three of us as we filed in. He gazed at each one of us as if he were trying to figure us out. "Meaghan, Sarah, I'm appalled at you two for the way you've been misbehaving in class..." he said finally, leaning back in his chair. "Excuse me, sir, but it's none of my business what they do, can I go back to class...please?" Max said from behind me. I looked over at her again, I noticed how sick she looked in the sunlight. "No Maxine, I don't think you should. You three are friends, maybe they can explain the way you look and act and what you were doing just now OUT of class..." the principal replied curtly. I looked back at him,"Um sir...we aren't really...friends...anymore..." I said. He looked at all of us. "Fine...you and Meaghan are free to go, you will not re-do the test tomorrow, you will not come tomorrow and you will be graded on what you've done so far in the test you interrupted," he said. I nodded and left, Meg following me. She looked behind her at Max as the door shut to the office. "...what the fuck..." she mumbled, walking to her other class as the bell rang. Will met me at our locker and I told him how it went, then told him about Maxine. He was surprised but promised to try and talk to InuYasha about it. So...now to take the rest of our tests and go home for the summer...with no school, no friends...or...anything...

~Ha...bit of a mystery...what's going on with Maxine? Why does she look so sick and such...will we get back together in the summer? Til next time...~
