Author notes: sorry it took so long to update, computers are real pains and can't seem to ever work right.

Morning came all to soon for everyone, as bright rays of sunlight reached through the closed windows of the large room trying to disturbe the people in it. A groan of protest excaped the lips of one girl in particular which didn't wish to recieve such a wake up call. She groaned softly and moved placing a gloved hand over her eyes trying to block out the sunlight. The sound of soft breathing reminded her she wasn't alone.

The night had been a long one for her due to the fact the young boy she was asked to protect began to have a really bad dream. The worst part of it, was because of a cirtain power granted to her from her last set of enemies, she could get drug right in the middle of it. This was one of those times, she wished she could have distroyed the crystal that started that mess. She yawned the sleep from her eyes and streached cracking her back careful not to wake the person sleeping next to her. However, her wish for the boy to get some much needed sleep was inturpted by the sound of a knock on the door. ::I hope thats not Tea again:: the girl thought standing and yawning once more on her week legs. "comming " she called to allert the preance outside the door that there was infact someone alive in the room.

"I Hope you haven't done anything to my Yugi!" Tea screached upon hearing the voice of the young moon senshi.

"I hope your not alone." Sailor Moon snapped to the voice.

"Yug, you ok in there?" a male spoke up breaking up any possible fighting that might have come about due to Tea's screaching about how Yugi was "hers" which the teen hero knew not to be true.

"Not so loud, he is still sleeping." Sailor moon responded.

"But if he isn't out for the duel in time, then he gets kicked out of the terment, and he may lose his grandfather permently for it." the male stated concern for his friend evident in his voice.

Sailor moon knew what it was like to lose someone close to her, or watch them fall appart right in front of your eyes never knowing if they would get better. She chocked back a sob that wanted to spill out over taking her emotions as she replied, "He is in no condition to duel this morning, I will take his place." She spoke slowly fear evident in every word she spoke. She knew the risks, and grabbed herself a dueling deck and the strange card that had been mentioned. THe young senshi glanced over at the sleeping form on the bed with a bright smile brushing a strand of hair out of his face.

Planting a small kiss on the young boy's face, Sailor moon departed from the room slowly falling the small group of friends the young boy thought so kindly of. She quietly allowed his friends to lead her where she would have to duel as the nights events replayed themselves in her mind. Each event just as clear as if it were happening, almost like a prediction of the future.

*flashback*

The night was dark and still. A small window was blown open by a soft wind causing glass to rattle. Sailor Moon and Yugi slept piecefly in the bed provided to Yugi. At first Sailor moon was reluctent to take the offered bed, it provided a since of wormth and secerty. one the young girl needed.

As she slept on, a voice entered both her and yugi's minds. Yugi reconized the voice to be that of his grandfather, whom had been trapped by pegasus, the owner of the castle the pair were now resting in. He had woken the boy and was trying to explain something to him. Sailor Moon couldn't help but listen as mountains of information were displayed out in front of her. Information she needed to hear, but wasn't to happy hearing about.

In the span of about five minutes, She had learned about Yugi and his grandfather, and what pegasus had in mind. Durring this time, she had to act as a comfert to Yugi who had clung to her sobbing. Yugi had sobbed himself to sleep which brought us to the scean before hand.

*end flashback*

Sailor moon sighed as she nodded in agreement to what she had promised only a few minutes before. She knew she didn't know what she was getting herself into, or what, but she knew in order to help yugi she must. Little did the senshi know, she was about to recieve a lot of help from an unknown sorce. Yami had seen what she was about to do and had set out to help her in her quest to help yugi. He could also tell from how she was acting, that she knew little if nothing about the game and without lots of help, she would lose for sure.

The platform she was to duel on was set, one side blue and the other red. A grid seperated the two halfs, which durring the duel were lit up and picture images of the duel monsters used during the duel were displayed. Sailor Moon stood on her side her deck set and ready for dueling. Yami watched in his translusient spirt form wanting to keep an eye on her. His suspisions were correct about her not being able to duel when he saw her place her deck on the wrong side of the dueling table where cards were to be placed. He slowly moved over to her and placed his hands over hers. The contact made her shiver due to the fact, to her it felt like a cold chill going through her spine. Brushing it off, she set her sites on the dueling platform ahead of her, relizing quickly the hand contact she felt was none other then yami using hand over hand with her. she smiled mentelly hoping that her assistent would see she was thankful for the help.

Yami did get the hint and returned the smile with a hug. "Don't worry sailor moon, I will help you with this duel." he whispered.

"I thank you so much." Sailor moon whispered back.

With that said, she set to work beeting her opent quickly. She didn't even stick around to hear what anyone had to say next being tired out from her own problems and her week legs wanting to give out on her. The person whom she had dueled against was a real snob, and the entire time tried to get inside her head making her lose focous. This task wasn't as difficult as everyone thought it to be.

Durring the duel, the young moon senshi fainted dropping her cards. Yami gasped when he saw this and picked her up, going to a more solid form first yet at the same time he appeared ghost like.She didn't remember dropping them or anything. She didn't even remember the person whom had rescued her from falling and hitting her head. No, she had forgotten just about everything except how her body felt which was sore, the one thing running through her mind was pain.

A few hours later, the young senshi felt cold along with the pain in her body. With a groan she tried to sit up, but both Yami and yugi had a hold of her and were trying to get her to sit back down. She had lost her transformation at some point and was now back in her normal clothing. She groaned in pain before speaking, "What happened, where am I?"

Yami smiled and rubbed her forehead with a cool compress. "ssshhhh sweetie, its alright. You just had a fainting spell is all. How do you feel?" He asked as he continued to dab away the sweat from her forehead.

"I am fine I think, my legs are just so sore is all." She responded. "By the way when I am not in fuku, you may call me Kayla. I know there is a lot I have to answer for, but as for right now I can't go into it." She added after confirming for herself that her senshi outfit had truely left her.

"Thats a nice name,"Yugi commented smiling at her his cheery voice lifting her downed spirets.

"Its good to see you smile, Kayla." Yami added as he remained at her bedside.

Kayla blushed at the comment, before pausing to think for a moment. She wanted to chose her words carefully to fully express what she was thinking and feeling. "I just want to thank you so much for taking care of me like this." She said after considering her words.

"Its no problem. Just consider us your new friends." Yugi stated, and Yami nodded in confermation taking her hand in his and stroking it with the back of his thumb.

Yugi then smiled at her before giving her a hug. "Thank you for everything you have done for me, and for letting me sleep this morning. I really needed it, and I don't know where I would be without you sometimes." He told her as he continued hugging her.

"Think nothing of it. I am your friend, and no matter what happens you can always count on me." Kayla replied before a yawn escaped her lips. Closing her eyes, she dozeed off into a calm sleep. Yami smiled and covered her up, before he and Yugi watched her sleep thankful to have such a good friend.
