A Duel for My Heart

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" Curtis asked

"You had your chance for that. You blew it," Tonya told Curtis, " You claimed you loved me but you never showed it"

"What do you expect from me?" Curtis asked irritated, "You want me to put my dreams on hold just to spend time with you?"

"You clamed your dreams was to be with me"

"And it still is," Curtis said interrupting Tonya, "but you need more then just love to get through life"

"But you never seem to have time for me anymore. All you do is study," Tonya said cutting Curtis off, "You can't just work all the time. That's what I'm most concern about. You shouldn't push yourself so hard all the time. You need to live a little."

"But I don't want to have to live like my parents. I want my kids to have a better life then I did growing up."

"I understand that….but you still young yourself. You need to relax and take some time off. You will have plenty of time to plan for children"

Curtis stood their taking in what Tonya was telling him. He felt that she doesn't really understand how rough his life was growing up. They only knew each other for six years…after Curtis childhood was over and he was becoming a man. They never really talk about their childhood, at least not the bad stuff that happen.

" I feel like we're destine to be together. Like I was put here on earth to make you happy," Curtis explained, " I can't imagine me without you"

"If that's how you feel, that we are destined to be together," Tonya said turning her back to Curtis, "Then let's see if we really suppose to be together," she continue picking up her dueling deck, "If you win we'll try to work things out, but if I win I'm out of here."

Curtis looks down at his own dueling deck. Tonya has never been able to beat Curtis in duel monsters. She has come close plenty of times but Curtis always found away to pull that one card that he needs to clinch the win. Curtis knew that this could be his last chance to prove to Tonya that he loved her.

"Ok," Curtis said, "I will duel you for your heart."

Tonya then got up and turns off all the lights in the room, then lights all the candles in the room. Curtis looks around the room noticing the light from the candles. He watches as the flames flickers making the light dance across the wall. Tonya sat down in front of him with an expressionless look upon her face. Curtis notice how the light made her face glow, all he wants to do now is just hold her in his arms and run his fingers threw her long black hair.

"Hump," Curtis though, "I never notice how beautiful she really is."

"I'll go first." Tonya clamed as she draws her cards. "I'll place two cards face down and I'll summon Curse of Dragon on attack mode."

Curtis sat there in shock that Tonya had already summoned a high level monster to the field.

"I guess it's my turn," Curtis proclaimed, "I place three cards face down and I'll set a monster in defense mode."

"Do you really think you will win like that?" Tonya yelled at Curtis, "You say you want me. Is that really the best you can do? I'm going to summon Gia the Fierce Knight to attack your face down card."

Curtis looks down and flips over his Giant Solider of Stone and place it in the grave yard.

"Now I'll use Curse of Dragon to attack your life points directly.

Curtis (6000) Tonya(8000)

"I'll end my turn"

"Hmm, I activate Pot of Greed to draw two more cards," Curtis looks over his new cards. "Now I place one card face down and place a card in defense mode again. I'll end my turn."

"All you doing is defending. I have two monsters on the field," Tonya said drawing her next card. "Make that three monsters as I summon Neo the Magi Swordsman"

Curtis just sat there and stared at the dueling field. "I can't believe I'm about to lose to Tonya with so much on the line."

"Now," Tonya went on, "I'll use Neo to attack your face down card."

Curtis flip the face down card over to show it was Princess of Tasaur.

"Oh well, I'll lose a thousand life points but you are about to lose forty-three thousand."

Curtis (1700) Tonya (7000)

Curtis draws his top card from the deck.

"Finally I can go on the offensive" Curtis thought

"First I'll activate my trap card, Just Deserts, you lose fifteen hundred life points."

Curtis (1700) Tonya (5500)

"Now I'll summon the Blue-eyes White Dragon to the field to attack your Magis Swordsman"

"I'll activate my own trap, Mirror Wall to reduce your Blue-eyes attack to 1500"

"Then I'll activate Graceful Dice."

Curtis picks up a di and rolls it. With each roll Curtis can feel his heart skip a beat. The di movements seem to be in slow motion with each turn. The di started to spin on a corner and finally landed flat but was still rocking back and forth with the one dot face up.

"Your Blue-eyes is destroyed," Tonya said with a smile.

Just then the di rolled over on the number six.

"My Blue-eyes gained an additional six hundred attack points to become twenty-one hundred." Curtis said. "You Magic Swordsman is destroyed. Now I'll place one card face down."

Curtis (1700) Tonya (5100)

Tonya draws her card a looks at Curtis.

"Curtis this duel is over." Tonya said looking at her cards.

"Tonya, I just want you to know that I love you. This is stupid. If you are really willing to stay with me if I won then why can't we just stop this crazy duel."

"This is away for you to keep me without me having to hear your tired ass excuses." Tonya answered.

"But…"

"But nothing," Tonya yelled, "I tried and tried to sit by your side as you continue to ignore me. You only notice me when you want to fuck. All you love is my pussy."

Curtis took in everything Tonya said. He begins to remember when they first got together. He remembers how happy they were how they were never apart. Where he would go she was there and vise versa. Then his thoughts turn to the night they laid under the stars holding each other lock into each other eyes. That was when his thoughts move on the night they made love for the first time.

He remembers it like it was yesterday. They were caught in a the middle of a storm one night after a movie. Despite their best efforts they both got soak by the heavy rain. Curtis ran to start a fire to warms themselves up. Tonya came around the corner watching him. Curtis watches her walks towards him in her soak clothes and hair. When she went to walk by him, he reached out and grabs her arms. They looked deep into each other eyes and begin to kiss. Curtis slip Tonya damp shirt over her head and begin to kiss her along her bra cup. He managed to undo the bra in no time as she removed his on shirt. He begin to kiss her lower and lower as he removed her pants and panties. He kissed her stomach then moved down to her thighs. Then he slowly moves to her inner thighs and kiss here there softer and slowly as he begin to move up again towards her…..

"Now I'll put one card face down and attack your Blue-eyes with Gia the Fierce Knight." Tonya announced sending Curtis away from his memory. "Now I'll use Curse of Dragon to end this duel."

"Wait," Curtis said, " I activate "Scape Goat."

"Fair enough, before I end my turn, I will attack one of your sheep tokens then."

Curtis draws his card then looks over his hand and the field planning his next move.

"I end my turn as well."

Tonya looks at Curtis in shock.

"Did he just give up on every thing?" Tonya though. She then attacks Curtis two more sheep tokens leaving Curtis with only one then ended her turn.

Curtis draws another card.

"I play Rain of Mercy" Curtis said, "We both gain a thousand life points. I end my turn.

Curtis (2700) Tonya (6100)

Tonya looks on still puzzle by Curtis last two turns and draws a card setting it face down.

"I'll attack you r last sheep token with Curse of Dragon and your life points with Gia," Tonya said.

Curtis (800) Tonya (6100)

"Do you want to finish this duel?" Tonya asked

The look Curtis had on his face was lifeless. He draws his next card and looks at it.

"I summon Lord of Dragons to the field and play flute of summoning Dragons to the field to special summon two Blue-eyes White Dragons to the field. Now I will play Monster reborn to revive my other Blue-Eyes to the field."

"Very good. Now are you going to summon the Ultimate Blue-eyes White Dragon?" Tonya asked.

"No," Curtis answered. " I'll put United We Stand on the Blue-eyes White Dragon I just brought back giving it an attack of sixty-two hundred."

Tonya looked on in shock of the new attack of the Blue eyes.

"Now I'm going to attack your Fierce Knight."

"You forgot about my mirror wall," Tonya said.

"No I didn't," Curtis replied. "Its attack is now at thirty-one hundred."

Curtis (400) Tonya (5300)

"Now I'm going to attack your Curse of Dragon with my other Blue-eyes," Curtis said reaching down to flip a trap over. "But I also am going to activate my trap card Skull Dice."

Curtis picks up a di and rolls it again. He needed at least a five to destroy the Curse of Dragon and a six to keep his Blue-eyes alive thinks to Tonya's Mirror Wall. The di rolled across the table and fell on five.

"Both of our monsters are destroyed, but your life points are open for a direct attack from my last Blue-eyes."

Curtis (400) Tonya (3800)

"It's not enough for you to win." Tonya said drawing a card. "I summon Dark Magician Girl to the field."

Tonya then reaches to turn over a card in her magic/ trap zone. Tonya hand hits a picture frame on the table besides her making it tips over.

"I'm activating Stop Defense."

Curtis reaches down to flip his Lord of Dragons to attack mode. A crash startled them both. Tonya looks down at the broken picture frame on the floor. It was a picture of the two of them at the fair.

Tonya could see the two of them that day. She knew Curtis was afraid of heights but managed to con him into getting on as many roller coasters she could get him on. The last thing they got on was the ferries wheel. That ride was one she would never forget. Tonya though about how Curtis gave her his jacket to keep her warm. She remembered how clear the night skies were and how bright each star was that night. She remembers the safe feeling she had laying there in his arms, that night couldn't have gotten any better she though. Then Curtis turned to her and told her he "I love you."

That was the first time Curtis told her he loved her. Tonya felt how her face blush and get warm inside. Tonya knew Curtis for two years and she also knew that he only told one other girl that he had love her. That night Tonya felt like Curtis was the one.

A sharp pain ran through Tonya's hand. She look down to see the blood from the cut she just got. Tonya looks at her finger then look up at Curtis then down to the dueling field. Tonya then look at Curtis side of the field and see his Lord of Dragons in attack mode.

"I will attack your Lord of D with my Dark Magician Girl." Tonya said.

Curtis (0) Tonya (5300)

"Humph," Curtis said sounding upset. "You won"

"Yeah I did."

"I'll guess I'll leave now so you can pack your stuff."

"Alright," Tonya said getting up, "I won't be to long"

Tonya went into the back room to start packing her things. She open her last drawer and find a box of letters and other gifts Curtis giving her through the years. At the bottom of the box was a duel monster card, Valkyrion the Magna Warrior. Tonya remembers why Curtis gave her that card. It was the day of their one year anniversary that he got Valkyrion along with the last magnet warrior he needed, Beta. Tonya got both cards for Curtis as a gift. The next day, during duel monster tournament, Curtis manages to Summon Valkyrion to upset the defending champion and the championship. Curtis gave Valkyrion back to Tonya saying it was a symbol of them. As long as they stick

together they could get through anything. Tonya put the card back in the box and put it and the rest of her stuff inside her car.

Curtis returned home about an hour after Tonya left. Curtis walks around the house with the false hope that Tonya was still there.

"Damn," Curtis though to himself as he walked into his room. The room the two of them shared for the past eight months. Curtis walk over to the bed to find a letter over his pillow. It reads:

Dear Curtis,

I'm sorry thins had to end this way. I really love you and wish you the best. By the way, I left something for you. Just so you know, I will be back for them latter. You know I can't duel without them. XOXO

Curtis look back on the pillow to see two duel monster cards on the bed. He flips the card over to see the Dark Magician and the Dark Magician Girl. Curtis smile and put the cards in the letter and put them up.

"I love you to Tonya," Curtis said, "and next time we duel…I promise I will win."
