Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ A game of Monopoly ❯ Duke's Lucky Die! ( Chapter 1 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

^_^ Hello everyone! Another Yu-Gi-Oh one-shot! (Although this time it doesn't star Dartz! -insert gasps here-) I hope you all will enjoy it! Warning: Shounen-ai, DukexSeto (One of my favorite pairings!) If you don't like it, don't read it!

Disclaimer: Yu-Gi-Oh does NOT belong to me!

It was a regular afternoon in Domino High. Yeah... Regular. That was the problem, nothing interesting ever happened there, the occasional stink-bomb in the girl's bathroom, courtesy of Joey and Tristan, but even that was getting old. Or at least in Duke's mind. Duke was never one for boring, to him, life was about fun. He sighed as he stared down at the test paper that laid there on his desk. The class was given an hour to do the test, and Duke had spent fourty-five minutes reminiscing about how boring things were around school. He looked to his left, seeing Seto Kaiba with his hands folded on his desk. He had finished the test half an hour ago. Duke kind of envied Seto Kaiba, he was the big name in Japan, everyone favored him. He was also the smartest kid in class. No, take that back, in the school.

“Do you enjoy looking at me?” Seto asked.

“Huh?” Duke was broken out of his thoughts.

“Is there something you want Devlin? If not, then stop staring, it's pissing me off.” Seto replied.

“Sorry.” Duke looked back down at his paper, he only had thirteen minutes left to finish it. He picked up the pen he had put beside the paper and looked at the first question. He wasn't feeling quite focused. He raised his hand.

“Yes, Mr. Devlin?” The teacher asked as he looked up from his book.

“May I go to the bathroom?” Duke asked.

“Mr. Devlin, there is only ten more minutes left to this test. Can it wait?” The teacher asked as he pointed to the clock.

“Sure.” Duke looked at his paper again, rolling his pen up and down the desk with his index finger. He could hear a slight snicker from Seto Kaiba, but he chose to ignore it as he read the first question.

“How do you think you did on your test?” Yugi asked Joey as they walked through the halls to the cafeteria.

“I say I did pretty well! But then, when do I not do well?” Joey answered proudly.

“Really? Then why did you get a D on your History test, Wheeler?” Duke asked.

“It caught me by surprise, that's all!” Joey retorted. Yugi, Te'a, and Tristan all giggled to themselves, when a slight gust of wind picked up.

“Move out of my way, losers.” Seto said as he walked quickly to the Cafeteria. Joey nearly jumped him but Duke and Tristan held him back.

“Don't do it man, it's not worth it!” Tristan said as he nearly lost grip of Joey.

“Yeah, and besides. If you want to do damage, it's best to do it from a distance. Watch!” Duke pulled out a die from his pant pocket and flicked it at Seto's head. Seto stopped in his tracks and turned around slowly, he looked at the gang. Duke was grinning while the other four were staring at him in disbelief.

“Did you throw that die at me, Devlin?” Seto asked as he picked up the die and placed it in his coat pocket.

“Yeah, I sure did!” Duke replied. Seto turned around and started walking again toward the Cafeteria.

“Heh. Good aim.” Seto said over his shoulder. Joey shook his fist up in the air at Seto.

“He took my die! My lucky die!” Duke yelled as the gang continued walking.

“Get it back from him then.” Tristan said bluntly.

Duke walked slowly to Seto's house. He dreaded going there, knowing the millions of reactions Seto would have when he saw Duke on his doorstep. Sure, Duke didn't exactly HAVE to go to Seto's house, but Seto had his valued die. Of course, it was Duke's fault for throwing it at Seto's head in the first place, he could've used any other die, but he decided to use this one. He didn't even know why it was lucky. He walked up the stairs to Seto's front door and rang the bell. A moment later, Seto opened the door and looked at Duke surprisingly.

“Uh. Hi Kaiba!” Duke said brightly.

“Devlin..” Seto said darkly.

“Can I come in?” Duke asked.

“Fine.” Seto moved a bit so Duke could get inside his house. Seto closed the door and walked into the living room and took a seat on the couch, gesturing for Duke to do the same. Duke put his backpack down beside the couch and sat next to Seto. “Is there a reason you are here?”

`Wow, he's really handsome up close. WAIT! Did I just think what I think I thunk? I did NOT just think that, did I? No, not me! Not Duke Devlin! Seto Kaiba is in no way handsome in any shape or form, just attractive! NO! Not attractive! He-`

“DUKE!” Seto yelled, pulling Duke out of this thoughts. “What the heck?! You answer me when I ask a question, lest you want to be rude. And that would go on my list.”

“List?” Duke asked.

“My list of things I have to hold against people if they ever come against me in a lawsuit.” Seto explained.

“That's stupid.” Duke said.

“It is NOT stupid!” Seto yelled.

“You say potato, I say... Well I also say potato, but that's really beside the point.” Duke said. Seto laughed.. For a while.. After about ten minutes of Seto laughing, he stopped.

“You know, you're the first person I have really been able to laugh in front of. Well, other then when I laugh insanely in duels.” Seto said, smiling at Duke.

`He has such a great smile, I wish he would smile more. WAIT! I'm doing it again, what is my problem?! I don't like Seto, do I? I like girls! I'm not gay!!!! Maybe I'm just trying to deny the truth, sure I spend alot of time with my fangirls, but that feeling is only for self-comfort... It's not like I have established any actual feelings towards any of them..' Duke thought as he looked down at his hands which were folded on his lap.

“Now tell me...” Seto said. “... Why are you here? I doubt you wanted to `hang out' or whatever you call it.” Duke was too busy thinking about his current problem with Seto to remember about the die. Seto smirked at Duke and moved a little closer towards him. Duke noticed this and stared at Seto.

“What's wrong?” Seto asked, smirking at Duke.

“N-nothing.” Duke answered as he moved more towards the other side of the couch, he was a little discomforted at how close he and Seto were, not that he minded it. Seto inched a little more closer to Duke until there was no more room for Duke to move to.

“I can just... Guess. It would be fun, just us here sitting for hours while I try to figure out the reason behind you coming to my house.” Seto said, leaning his face close towards Duke's.

“Uh.. Yeah, you could.” Duke gulped. Seto was maybe two inches away from him. Seto grinned, he knew why Duke was really there, he felt like seeing what Duke would do though. It was quite amusing. He leaned more towards Duke and kissed him. It took Duke a few seconds to fully utilize what was happening. He closed his eyes and kissed Seto back. After a few minutes, Seto pulled away and sat back at his seat.

“Duke, I know what it is you're doing here.” Seto laughed, as much as he wanted to play out the scenario, he also didn't feel like torturing Duke.

“You do?! So that kiss... Meant nothing?” Duke asked saddened.

“Oh the kiss.. Meant something alright, it meant that I like you. And obviously, you like me too.” Seto said, smirking.

Duke blushed fifteen shades of red. Duke was either very transparent, or Seto was extremely intuitive. It could've been a mix of both. “Um.. So about my lucky die...”

“Oh this?” Seto pulled the die out of his coat pocket. “I'll play you for it. How about a game of Monopoly? We'll use my die..” Seto kissed Duke again, then left to find the game. Duke finally learned why the Die was his lucky die.

Well, how did you like it? I know it was short compared to my other one-shots, but it's the content that really counts, right? Please review and tell me what you think, who knows? There might even be a sequel if people like this story enough. As always, if you are going to flame, at least tell me why you didn't like it.
