Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ A New Tournament ❯ A Rude Awakening ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
I don't own yugioh. This story has some of my created cards in it.
Dylan was fast asleep in his bed, until he rolled out in his sleep and hit his head off his nightstand. “Oww, what time is it?” Dylan said to himself looking up towards the clock. “Ahhh!” Dylan screamed “11:00 already?! I'm supposed to be at the tournament at 11:30!” Dylan scrambled around grabbing some clothes quickly, sliding them on. He then grabbed his deck and he ran out the door like there was a fire in his room.
Running down an alleyway, Dylan got stopped by a relatively large kid, around 5'9. “Hey kid, where you going in such a hurry?” the mystery man said to Dylan. “I'm on my way to a yugioh tournament up ahead and I'm late so can you please let me through?” Dylan quickly responded. The mystery kid just simply said, “I'm Andrew, how about before you go to your tournament, how about a little duel with me?” Andrew pulled out his deck with a smirk and looked over at him. Dylan sighed, “Fine, let's just make this quick. Both kids pulled out their duel disks and slapped their decks into it.
Dylan: 4000
Andrew: 4000
Both players drew 5 cards. “Hmm, you wouldn't mind me starting off, would you?” Andrew said with a smirk. “Sure, whatever” Dylan answered. “Hehe, I'll summon Troop Dragon (700/800) to the field in defense mode. Your move.” Dylan quickly snapped a card off of his deck, looking at it slightly. “I summon Goblin Shieldholder (500/1900) in defense mode and end my turn.” Andrew just smirked as he drew his card. “Well, this will be boring if we both play defenses….so…. I tribute my Troop Dragon for this!” Andrew slapped a card on his duel disk, “Zaborg the Thunder Monarch! (2400/1500) And his special ability lets me destroy one monster on the field when tribute summoned…. So say goodbye to your Goblin Shieldholder!” Both players watched as the goblin shattered into several pieces. “Now Zaborg! Attack his life points directly!” Andrew ordered. Zaborg instantly flew at Dylan slashing at him, knocking him back a few inches.
Dylan: 1600
Andrew: 4000
“This is easier than I thought” Andrew bragged. Dylan didn't say a thing as he drew his card. “I activate Monster Reborn to bring back my Shieldholder!” Dylan shouted. “So what? That thing is too weak to destroy any of my cards.” Andrew said. Dylan smiled and simply said, “ I'm tributing it, not attacking.” Andrew stared blankly at Dylan. “I summon Goblin Task Force (1800/0) by tributing my Shieldholder!” “That monster is still to weak” Andrew stated. “Power isn't everything, for my Goblins have an ability too. When it comes into play, I can destroy up to 2 cards on the field. So, goodbye Zaborg.” Dylan said while smirking. “Now go my Goblin Task Force! Attack him directly!” 3 Goblins rushed towards Andrew slashing him with some makeshift weaponry.
Dylan: 1600
Andrew: 2200
Andrew scowled as Dylan spoke, “ I'll finish my turn by activating this continuous spell card, Goblin Infantry Chamber! You can take over from there” Andrew drew his card. “Hmmm, I'll summon Charcoal Impachi (0/2100) in defense mode. I'll also lay 2 cards face down to end.” Dylan drew from his deck and frowned for a second. “Didn't draw a good card?” Andrew asked. Dylan smirked and slide the drawn card into the graveyard. “Nah, thanks to my Goblin Infantry Chamber. I discard my drawn card to get an equip card from my deck with Goblin in it's name” Dylan snatched a card from his deck and added it to his hand. “I activate Goblin Mace! I discard a card from my hand, to play it, but it increases my monsters attack by 1500!” Andrew interrupted, “too bad it had to leave so soon. Activate Book of Moon! This will flip your card face down. Then I'll activate Monarch Triumph! This lets me summon a monarch from my hand during your turn by tributing a monster. So say goodbye to my Charcoal Impachi and hello to my Granmarg the Rock Monarch! This destroys a face down card on your field, which would be your Goblin Task Force” Andrew smiled proudly at his move. The face down card shattered into many pieces “Well, it's still my move!” Dylan stated. “I summon Goblin Trainer - Athena (1200/1500) and lay one card face down to end” Andrew drew as he smirked, “It's time to finish this.” Andrew slapped a monster down onto his duel disk. “Go Spear Dragon! Attack his Goblin Trainer!”
“Not so fast! I activate Negate Attack!” Dylan yelled. “Hmph, that will only save you for a turn. Your move.” Dylan drew. “I discard to use my Goblin Infantry card” Dylan grabbed a card out of his deck and placed it in his hand. “Now, I tribute my Goblin Trainer for Goblin Commander - Orick! (2400/1700) And that's not all! When I summon Orick, I get to summon a level 4 or lower goblin card from my hand. So I summon Goblin Official - Aeaea! (1900/1300 Firstly, I decrease my Aeaea's attack by half (950/1300) to discard 2 cards at random from your hand!” Andrew just frowned and tossed out his remaining 2 cards in his hand. “And did I mention my Aeaea increases the attack of all my goblins by 200? Aeaea (1150/1300) Orick (2600/1700) Now! Goblin Commander! Attack Granmarg now!”
Dylan: 1600
Andrew: 2000
Andrew drew slowly and sighed. “Spear Dragon attack Aeaea!”
Dylan: 950
Andrew: 2000
“I can't believe I'm gonna lose, go ahead and finish me off” Dylan drew “Alright then, I summon Goblin Attack Force (2300/0) Goblin Attack Force attack his dragon! Then my Goblin Commander attack him directly!”
Dylan: 950
Andrew: 0
Andrew fell to his knees. “I better let you get to your tournament now” Dylan gasped “ Oh no! It's 11:25!” Dylan quickly dashed towards the tournament entry lobby and said breathlessly, “Can…I….get into….the…tournament?” “Sure you can kid, just gimme the $5 entry fee” the host said. Dylan handed him $5 and went to sit down. On a nearby loudspeaker Dylan heard “ATTENTION ALL DUELISTS THIS TOURNAMENT WILL NOW BEGIN. ALL MATCHUPS ARE POSTED ON THE SIDE OF THE GAME STORE” Dylan walked over to the wall to search for his match-up while watching some other kids start dueling already.
