TEN
Digits tapped impatiently on the smooth wood surface of the table that they sat at, waiting in the corner of a luxurious restaurant. Cerulean eyes scanned the crowed around him cautiously, all the while squeezing Yugi's smaller shoulder comfortingly, giving the smaller teenager something else to concentrate on.
In his seat Bakura constantly fiddled with the suit that Nick had lent him, it was a little big, considering the fact that Nick was taller, and broader. Joey was in a similar boat, except his was only big in the shoulders, and the pants kept slipping down even with the belt. In normal circumstances this would have been hilarious, but at the moment the mood was still not light enough for pleasured laughter.
Taita, Tanus, and Kratus had yet to appear. Glancing at his watch Seto snarled, they were fifteen minutes late, his patience was beginning to thin. Taking a deep cleansing breath he shifted his arm so that it was around Yugi's shoulder, “They should have been here by now,” he murmured to Nick, containing his anger.
Glancing at his friend Nick loosened his tie, shifting forward he gripped his glass of wine, “They don't have watches Seto, besides, they need to be cautious, Chike's goons are all over Thebes. They need to be careful so that they can actually get to us.”
“Nick,” called a smooth male voice from the doorway of the restaurant.
Lifting his head Nick beamed blissfully before rising to his feet, Royan following as they strode up to three young men by the entrance. Two were well built, both soldiers in appearance by their body structure, and both seemed to be in exceptionally good physical shape.
The other was a near mirror image of Yami in build, gaunt and thin, but perfectly toned and muscular. The only difference was, this man was taller, and slightly broader than the Pharaoh.
Blue eyes, near mirror images of his own, stared at him hard, grinning blissfully almost as they owner smiled brightly at Royan as she greeted him with a warm embrace. Seto nearly gasped as he caught that familiar gleam in those eyes, that powerful gleam that both Yami's and Bakura's eyes held.
Shadow powers.
It was the only explanation.
Taita sighed as he pulled away from Royan, cerulean eyes turning to her and gripping her arms urgently, “We cannot stay long, the ship will be arriving within the hour.”
“Alright, sit down, get a drink, and start explaining,” Nick suggested, extending his hand towards the table.
Tanus grunted, smoothening his curly red-gold hair before taking a seat close to Seto. Adjusting his kaftan he glanced at Yugi, his deep brown eyes softening, “We are taking him to Zuberi. He will be safe there, and we will be able to give him his memories of his past life,” he stated.
“Zuberi?” questioned Yugi. “Where is that, what about the Millennium Village?”
Taita smiled, taking the glass of water that was offered to him from a waitress, “That is the Millennium Village; it is the name that was given to it by the Pharaoh that took over after Yami's passing.”
“Oh,” Yugi murmured.
Taking a sip of his water Taita glanced at Seto again, his eyes soft and kind before he turned back to Royan, “Lostris just reported to us an hour ago. She was able to steal the items and as them hidden at the moment.”
“And Yami,” Royan asked. “How is he?”
“Well you know Chike,” Kratus, the other man, growled deep in his throat. “If Lostris was not there he would no longer be a bloody virgin. But otherwise, he's healing. Lostris is making sure that he takes it easy and is keeping him as far away from Chike as possible. Two nights ago the damn bastard threatened to harm Yugi, he's been fairly quiet since.”
Clenching his fists Seto scowled furiously, Bakura immediately gripping his shoulder in a restraining manner before the thief tended to Yugi who was now on the verge of tears. Snarling he heaved a deep breath, bringing his rage under control before averting his attention to Taita, “We are coming to Zuberi with you, right.”
Taita shifted his head from side to side, “No, it is too dangerous. With this large of a group Chike's men will be able to track us easily. Besides, we need outside protection. Nick,” he said, turning to his friend, “I need you to contact Tessay and Mek, ask him if he can help us, we will need all the soldiers and help that we can get. Chike has created a small army; on our own we don't stand a chance.”
“When will we be able to come to the village,” Bakura demanded. “We cannot stay away forever, besides he needs us.”
“Not long,” Taita assured, placing his glass back on the table. “A month or more, no more than that, I can promise you that. As soon as Tessay and Mek reach the border we will head out and meet them, that's when we will meet.”
“We better,” Seto snapped, downing his drink.

Over the past two days Lostris was forced to stand back and watch as Chike paraded Yami around as if he was some prize. The wealthy businessmen and woman alike at the dinner parties were quite interested in the exotic prize, one becoming daring enough to try and make a move on the young teenager. He found out the hard way that Yami's fist was extremely firm and now stayed away, protecting his now broken nose from the vicious boy.
Yami, silent through all the meals, barely fought back against Chike, allowing the man to do almost anything that he pleased, but never with a pleased expression upon his normally placid features. Only speaking when he had to, he stayed as far away from Chike as he could. If the man beckoned for him he would not budge from his position until the man used perfect manners.
On the first night Lostris was forced to hold her gut from furious laughter as Yami pretended to not know how to use any form of utensil other than chop sticks. He had elaborate lied, saying that Sugoroku had only taught him how to use chop sticks because that was all he used in the house. Chike had agreed and went through the trouble of yelling at the staff in the kitchen to find some chop sticks. The entire event was rather humorous.
From that night she found that yes Yami was cooperating, but that did not mean he was going to let his captors have it easy.
Once with the new guard Yami refused to speak anything but Egyptian, then the next day it was nothing but Japanese. By then Lostris was rolling upon the floor laughing at the confused expression on the guards face as he tried to reason with a bellowing Yami.
The Pharaoh did this to every single guard so far, pretending to not know a word of English, and switching between the two that he knew, then was glared at later on as Toran or Kosey would come in telling him that one of his meals was ready and that Chike was waiting for him and Lostris.
Crimson eyes slipped shut as soft feminine hands kneaded his shoulders, soothing hard muscles into flaccidity, caressing out the tight knots and leaving him in euphoria. The sweet aroma of roses and lavender filling his senses from the hot bathwater that rippled around him, aiding in relaxing him and soothing his nerves.
Lostris smiled as her hands moved over her friend's shoulders, eyes softening at seeing him so serene and unperturbed. Reaching over she retrieved the bottle of shampoo, squeezing a large quantity of the pink gel into his hands she let it dribble into the spiked locks of Yami's hair.
He shuddered at the sensation of the cold shampoo meeting his head before giving out an appreciative moan as she began to soothingly scrub his hair, cleaning it and allowing it to shine again.
Rinsing it out she did the same treatment with the conditioner before retrieving the cloth from nearby, pouring some of the body wash onto it she rubbed it together till the white bubbles began to form.
Gently she urged him to move forward, scrubbing his back, torso, and arms clean before she gave him the cloth and allowed him to do the rest, smiling as she noticed that his flexibility was greatly improving. Yesterday he could not reach his toes, today it was no problem. He was a fast healer obviously.
Pulling the plug on the drain she stepped back and slinging a towel over her shoulder helped him step out of the deep bathtub. She was now so accustomed to this that seeing him completely nude did not bother her, nor did touching his remarkably smooth skin, baby soft almost.
To her she felt as if she was treating a younger brother, and Yami seemed to be just as comfortable with her now. After all he bathed two or three times a day to remove the sweat from his form when ever his wound began to irritate him.
Wrapping the towel around his shoulders she turned away and retrieved his silk pyjama pants, boxers, and top before turning back to him, presenting the clothing to him once he was dry. Silently she helped him pull the cream coloured silk garments on, the colour accenting his now deeply tanned skin; the gold against the cream was almost stunning, enhancing the brilliance of his bangs and eyes.
Smiling warmly at each other they headed back into the main area of their room, both moving to the double doors that led out onto the deck of the ship. Stepping out into the warm night air they leaned against the railing, inhaling the sweet fumes that emitted from the Nile waters below. Crisp and perfect, its oceanic scent mingling with the sweetness of the lotus flowers that bloomed, and the husky odour of the papyrus beds around them.
Crimson and Nile green eyes stared out at the scenery around them. The high cliffs of the valley to their backs, and the stunning simplicity of Thebes to their right, while before them was the open rolling hills of the desert mingled with the grass and crops outside of the city.
The exquisite site before them was breathtaking, simple and perfect, but breathtaking nonetheless.
“We can leave soon. As soon as the ship reaches the docs in about fifteen minutes the men from the village and the few Sudan soldiers that we have befriended will begin to provide a distraction. We will jump into the water, swim to the banks, and find Taita, Tanus, and Kratus in the city. They told me where to meet them, so don't worry about that,” Lostris expounded, her ebony hair ghosting across her face as a light breeze moved over the ship.
Yami grunted in acknowledgement, his eyes remaining focused on the trees along the edge of the Nile. He could see their allies moving about among them, ducking low and keeping what ever weapon they carried clutched firmly to their breasts. They moved like cats, stealthy and agile. Narrowing his eyes he shifted his attention to Lostris, “we are going to have to leave the items behind, we don't have time to steal them now.”
Smirking Lostris placed a small kiss on his cheek before whispering in his ear, “who said that they aren't already taken.”
Pulling back he stared at her, a brilliant smile gracing his features, “You're amazing Lostris,” he chuckled, before pulling her into he tender embrace.
“I already knew that,” she teased. “Tell me something I don't know.”
“You are hopeless,” he chuckled, turning away to redirect his gaze towards the tree line. But a fist began to boisterously pound on the door to the suite. Glancing at each other they moved back into the room, closing the balcony doors just as the guard opened the door.
Before the two had a chance to react Chike stormed into the room, Toran and Kosey behind him. Immediately the two men forced Lostris towards the bed, holding her there firmly as Chike approached Yami. The young teenager did not flinch as the man stood before him fuming; fists clench, face red, and eyes burning with rage.
“Where is he,” he suddenly demanded.
Yami gave him a puzzled expression, “Who?”
Roughly Chike grabbed his neck, squeezing vehemently and lifting, forcing Yami to stand on the balls of his feet, “Yugi, where is he, along with your companions.”
Narrowing his eyes Yami gasped out, “I have no idea, you have the puzzle too far away from me, I can't tell where they are.”
“Alright, then where are the items,” Chike snapped, his grip tightening, causing Yami to cough and gag. “They are missing, where are they.”
Gasping for breath Yami held onto Chike's wrists, “I don't know, I swear I don't know.”
Snarling Chike moved his hand to Yami's arm, holding it just as tightly before jerking the Pharaoh forward, forcing him to fall against him, “really now, we shall see if you break under me. Now either you tell me where the items are, or my lust will not have to wait much longer than a minute.”
“I don't know Chike,” Yami bellowed, pushing against his adversary's muscular torso, trying desperately to get away. He only ended up screaming in agony as Chike hefted him over his shoulder effortlessly, forcing his incision to rest on his shoulder, and bringing tears to his eyes as the man carried him out of the room, his goons following closely behind.
Jumping from the bed Lostris stared in horror as the door was slammed shut, there was only one way to stop this from happening now. Dropping down to her knees she reached under the bed, rummaging around she shifted her hand until it met a cool metal object. Pulling it out she reveal a cell phone, dialling a number swiftly she waited, rocking on her knees.
“Oh sweet Isis Taita pick up.”

Hearing his phone ring Taita delved into the pocket of his kaftan, finding the said object he pulled it out, flipping it open he pressed it to his ear, “Hello,” he answered, ignoring the expressions of demand that he was receiving from those around him.
“Taita, Chike found out about the items being missing, he just took Yami out of the room. He's going to try and take him now if we don't do something,” Lostris screamed from the other end.
Gripping the edge of the table Taita felt the breath leave his lungs, without a second thought he sprang to his feet, “I'll get the others to start the distraction now. You get Yami out of there, don't let that bastard touch him,” he cried, hanging up on her before quickly dialling another number.
“Taita what is going on,” Seto demanded, rising to his feet rapidly.
Glancing at the CEO Taita scowled, “Chike found out about the Items being gone, he's trying to force Yami to tell him where they are by forcing himself upon him. We are launching the diversion now. We need to go, I'll call you when we get him out of here and on safe ground, I promise,” he assured before barrelling out the door of the restaurant, Tanus and Kratus behind them as they shoved people out of their way.
Yugi immediately moved from the table and tried to run after them, but Joey block him immediately, lifting him into his arms and holding his struggling form firmly. Bakura moved around, cupping Yugi's face in an attempt to make the boy look at him, “You can't help them Yugi, you will cause more harm then good. Let them protect him, he'll be fine I promise.”
Tears began to course down Yugi's face he as slackened in Joey's grip, a crowd of people gathering around them as Joey sat upon the floor, holding him to him tightly. Royan, Nick, and Seto immediately sat down around them silently as Bakura continued, his thumb caressing the tears from the boy's face.
“It's alright Yugi, he'll be fine,” the former thief soothed.
“I want him back, I can't stand this any more, I want Yami back,” Yugi screamed, his body convulsing from the sobs that raged through his petite body.
“I know Yugi, I know,” Bakura murmured. “Just have patience, let Taita and the others take care of him. They will do a better job than we will.”
“I want him back,” Yugi sobbed again.

He was dropped heavily on the bed, back arching from the pain in his chest only to growl heatedly as a persistent mouth attacked his throat, nipping roughly and causing angry red marks to appear on his flesh. Giving out a primal growl he shoved against Chike with all his might, forcing the man off balance and causing him to topple to the floor with a yelp.
Springing to his feet he made a mad dash towards the doors that led out onto the deck of the ship, he never made it. Chike was blocking him in instant, faces inches apart. With a cry Yami stumbled to a stop before moving backwards, backing swiftly away from Chike as he strode towards him, shoulders hunched and blood dribbling from his mouth. Yami shuddered at the sight, the man reminded him greatly of a lion bearing down on its evening meal after dealing a devastating blow.
Back hitting the wall he let out a small whimper, he was trapped in this game of cat and mouse, and him being the mouse he was now going to become lunch for the cat. Chike reached out with the swiftness of a cobra, gripping his wrists before shoving them over his head. Shifting Yami lifted his knee between Chike's leg, vigorously hitting his desired target, satisfied when Chike hunched over with a grunt and his grip loosened.
It did nothing for him. Chike recovered rapidly, snarling with renewed anger as he swooped down, latching onto the boy's neck again, biting into the flesh and drawing thick crimson blood from the laceration.
Holding back his screams Yami squirmed strongly, his body twisting and turning like an eel out of water as Chike pressed against his middle, straddling him and grinding against him. Ignoring the lance of pleasure that shot through his body he growled, slamming his head forward and colliding with Chike's chin.
Giving out a cry Chike took a step back, his fingers running along a trail of blood that now trickled down his chin from the bold blow of his captive. Glancing up he caught Yami collapsed upon the floor, hands pressing desperately against the bandages on his torso. Smirking he reached down, pulling the young man to his feet before tossing him onto the bed, pinning him there effectively and feeling his erection harden at feeling Yami squirm against him. Oh this was going to be exceedingly pleasurable.
One hand pinning Yami's above his head, while the other reached down and yanked the boxers and pants down, exposing luscious golden flesh to his eyes. Freeing himself he laid his entire eight against his struggling captive, relishing in the feeling of the others flesh against his own, heating his body temperature and increasing his desire.
He was about to flex his hips and join their bodies, but the sound of gunshots outside and in the hallway caught his attention. Narrowing his eyes he glanced back over his shoulder as the door was kicked open, flapping on its hinges as it collided with the wall and rebounded back. In the doorway stood Lostris, a tranquilizer gun in her hands, Toran and Kosey lying unconscious on the hallway floor behind her.
Zipping his pants up hastily he turned to her, springing for the gun he had hidden in the couch he was about to reach it when the bang of the tranquilizer boomed in his ears, a sharp pain lancing up his side before everything went blank.
Rushing forward Lostris tossed the gun to the floor, hearing it clatter as she gripped Yami's shaking hands, wrapping them around her neck then moving to pull the silk pants up. She could feel Yami shaking furiously in both pain and fear as she did this, humming softly she rose to her feet, taking him with her.
“We need to do what I said before, can you swim,” she asked, leading his unsteady frame out onto the deck of the ship. Yami nodded, panting deeply as he tried to even out his breathing. Adjusting the backpack around her shoulders Lostris made sure that the clasps were secure and that the items were not going to tumble out in their swim. Confirming that everything was already she turned to Yami, “ready,” she asked.
The sound of gun shots caught Yami's ears, turning he spotted the men on the shore firing enthusiastically at the ship, the bullets were harmless darts, but they were enough to cause a frightening racket. Blinking he nodded, averting his attention back to Lostris and griping the railing.
“Let's go,” she said, with duel grunts they hefted themselves over the railing, their bodies cascading down towards the water. Hitting the surface with a loud splash before their heads went under the dark surface, the cool water freezing their muscles briefly before they kicked to the surface.
Breaking out of the darkness of the water they swam towards the shore, strong strokes and heavy kicks aiding them against the waters current. Reaching the banks they scrambled onto the shore, kicking up sand as they dashed towards the city streets, avoiding people as they went.

Taita careened out of the restaurant, shoving his cell phone back into his pocket he began to sprint towards the docks. Loud cracking sounds filled the air, making him believe at first that there were fireworks, but not seeing the bright lights knew that the diversion had already begun. Not waiting for Tanus and Kratus he dashed through the streets, springing out of people's way, and speeding around corners.
He had always been a sprinter; his speed was greater than any of the warriors in the village. Many used to tease him that he had such speed because he was a coward, but he proved over the years of living the harsh life in the village that he was not.
Tanus and Kratus were finding it difficult to keep up with their friend, his speed and agility was greater than theirs, allowing him to easily manoeuvre through the busy streets.
Kaftan flaring behind him, and the hem of his kilt ridding up high on his thighs Taita stumbled to a stop at the banks of the river. The gunshots ringing loudly in his ears as he regained his breath, glancing down the banks he spotted two figures pull themselves from the water barely looking where they were going as they dashed into the city close to them.
Knowingly he glanced back at Tanus and Kratus, signalling the two out he dashed forward, racing after the two with the speed and grace of a cheetah. As he entered the streets he glanced behind him briefly, Chike's men were disembarking from the ship, sprinting after them after recognizing their forms. Cursing he slowed to allow Tanus and Kratus to catch up with him, keeping the two figures in his vision range as he went.
Racing around a corner Taita, Kratus, and Tanus stumbled to a stop as they nearly collided with the two that they were chasing. Lifting their gazes the three spotted why the two had stopped, in front of them ten of Chike's men stood straight, tranquilizer riffles in their hands and the barrels of each and everyone pointed at Yami's torso.
Thinking fast Taita gripped Yami's shoulders, trying to pull him back around the corner.
One loud boom rang in their ears, seconds later mingling with a pained scream, and a devastated cry.
