I'm falling,
I'm falling farther and farther,
Farther into the shadows,
And somehow I can find comfort in them,
Somehow I take refuge in them,
As I rest in my imaginary world,
My sanctuary made to protect me from reality,
And I find a place I can call home,
Knowing that someone cares,
Knowing that only the demons will knock me down,
For my mistakes as I often make,
For I am human like those around me,
And the one I love,
How come you never acknowledge my obvious love for thee?
How could someone love with so much vain as I?
And on that island that held the highest stakes of all,
I defeated you in a never ending war,
Despite all of your cheating ways,
And we both lasted until the near end,
Why did you help me when things went from bad to worse?
Found you again in Battle City,
I never did think that I'd see you once more,
And yet I did,
Once again we both made it to the near end,
Wish I told you the truth when I should have,
I wanted to act all tough,
But the fact is it ended the wrong way,
I hope you can hear my calls in the shadows,
Because I love you,
I love you,
I love you,
I'll always love you Mai,
