Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ A Series Of One Shots ❯ I Know How He Feels ( Chapter 3 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
I Know How He Feels is sung by Reba McEntire. I don't own the song.
Pairings are Jou/Honda, Jou/Ryou, Honda/Mai
Songfic lyrics get a star * *
And remember noe of these are connected so no whining about how you're seeing the same person paired up with other people than they were with in the last chapter. It doesn't matter. And this isn't edited so I'm sorry for any spelling errors. I'll fix them later. Maybe.

*When I heard that familiar voice
My heart stopped dead in it's tracks
Across the room I could see him there
A ghost from my past*

All Jou had wanted was food. Just a quick bite then he'd be on his way. It was just his luck that fate wasn't on his side.

"So I open the door to my office and they've stuffed the whole room with balloons. It was like walking into a circus."

Jou froze. It wasn't possible. Honda was in America. He had been for months now. It was just his imagination playing tricks on him. It wouldn't have been the first time. Amber eyes scanned the room looking for the source of that voice that sounded oh so much like his once best friend and lover.

Sure enough, sitting there across the room, looking exactly like he remembered was Honda. He swore his heart stopped.

This can't be happening

*But he's too caught up to notice me
She must be his new love
I never dreamed that it would hurt this much
It's just...*

He considered turning around and making a run for it but closer inspecton proved the brunette had eyes for no one but his companion. Who also looked strangly familiar.

No way.

Honda reached across the table and laid his hand over the woman's. She giggled and reached up with her free hand to tuck long bleach blonde hair behind her ear.

"You know what Mai? It's worth coming back to Domino just to be able to be here with you."

Jou felt sick. The Fates were feeling extremly evil. That would be the only reason why the blonde had stumbled across those two. The first woman he had slept with and the first man. The first friend he ever had that cared enough to go looking for him and defend him when he got himself into trouble. The first person that had looked past his rough exterior to find the man within.

"I'm glad you feel that way." Painted lips parted slightly as she leaned forwards to kiss Honda.

But I...

*I know how he feels
How warm his touch is
Oh how he feels
How soft his kiss is
And it cuts right down to the bone
'Cause I let him go
I know how he cares
How strong his love can be
When he believes it's real
Oh I've been there
And I know how he feels*

Jou wasn't sure how it had happened. He had been perfectly happy with Mai. He was eager to learn all the tricks she could show him and had boundless energy to use up. And Mai had seemed happy too. Then one day it was over. She had met him at the door, handed him his bag of stuff and told him it had been fun but she needed someone who could be a provider for her. A task Jou wasn't ready for.

So he had gone to the only place he could think of. To Honda's apartment. And his friend had welcomed him into his home without asking any questions.

Two months after he had moved in Honda started acting strange. He would find little excuses to touch the other. Casual things that you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking for them.

But Jou had been. Because as odd as it sounded even to him it was what he needed. Honda had always been there for him. Any time he needed anything he knew where to turn. So when the nights became too long and his bed too empty he knew where to turn.

Honda had opened up a side of him that he never knew existed with his soft kisses and demanding touches.

Jou had been left breathless.

And now this.

*As long as I kept him outta sight
I kept from going out of my mind
Tried to believe that leavin' him
Was somehow justified
But tonight there's no denying
What a love like his is worth
He once looked at me
The way he's looking at her
What a lucky girl*

Six months, two days, sixteen hours and thirty two minutes.

That was exactly how long their "relationship" had lasted.

Then one day as he was getting out of the shower something inside Jou's head clicked. He was using his friend. The only person who honestly cared about him. The only person who showed interest in his well being.

So he had packed his bags and left. Honda never asked why. He never complained. He was Jou's best friend after all. He understood.

Or at least that's what the blonde had thought.

Then one day Honda was gone. He had taken a job oversea's with the company he was working for, packed up and left. Without even telling Jou goodbye.

Now here he was in some dark restaraunt staring at Mai like she was the only thing in the world he cared about. Like he would move Heaven and Earth for her if she asked him to. The same way he had looked at Jou.

Everything had been new and almost overwhelming for him the first time. But Honda had eased him through it with whispered, panted, moaned words of love.

None had loved him before.

I fucked up. I have to tell him that I love him too.

"Katsuya? Why'd you stop?" Brown eyes peered up at him. "I thought you were hungry?"

Honda and Mai both turned at the sound of his name. Honda rising to his feet and Mai reaching out.

Jou grabbed his snowy lover by the hand and turned on his heel dragging the smaller male along before anything else could be said. "I changed my mind. Let's go home. I want to break in the new bed."

*I know how he feels
How warm his touch is
Oh how he feels
How soft his kiss is
And it cuts right down to the bone
'Cause I let him go
I know how he cares
How strong his love can be
When he believes it's real
Oh I've been there
And I know how he feels*

Honda cursed the waitress that blocked his path and ducked around her sprinting to the door. He made it to the sidewalk just in time to watch Jou's car pull away from the curb, with Ryou in the passenger seat.

"Katsuya."

Short and sad...just the way I like these
Please review.
I take pairing and song requests just remember that this is not a happy ending series of one shots so they will suffer at the hands of my nobody-should-be-happy muses.
