Disclaimer: I don't own Yugioh....but I can dream!! The story is mine...I can't say I own all the orginal characters as four of them are me & my friends. The other made up ones....are mine...& the other freaks as we all have a say in this story...I just wrote it.

There was a girl; she was 16 soon to turn 17. She lived in Tasmania, Australia. She was an ordinary girl, watched anime, read drew, sang and wrote stories. She lived in a place called Primrose Sands; it was a very small town, only one shop. This girl didn’t know anyone from this town, she only had 4 REAL friends and she was older than them, the fact that she lived out of town made it hard for her to see them too. She had another friend, he was in America, they talked over the internet, he made her feel much better, made her smile. This girls name was Ruby Pack. On a day like every other, after she had finished school for the year, she got up to find her mother, Christine, had gone out. She had left a note telling her that she had gone to pick up Colin her boyfriend. Ruby, being used to this, merely shrugged and walked over to the bread, got to pieces out and proceeded to make herself some toast. After which she sat down to watch some T.V, one of her favourite shows was on, Yugioh. They had recently gotten Austar and she wasn’t used to have so many choices of things to watch and the fact that Yugioh was on that day had slipped her mind. As she watched the show she couldn’t help but go upstairs to her room while the add was on and grab her half built deck to flip through it while she was watching. As she did so she unconsciously began wishing that she lived in Domino, that she could meet the characters and duel with them, not that she thought that she would be a big help, but it would be fun all the same. Ruby’s deck wasn’t really HALF built; it was just that she hadn’t really looked through the deck to see if there were any cards in it that she didn’t want. She had gotten a Kaiba deck for Christmas and just put it with her already half built deck. Her cat Porky walked up and meowed at her, she smiled slightly at the cat and gave her a pat. Something happened on the show and she looked up to see…Yami and Yugi were talking about a new threat and how they had to figure out Yami’s past. Suddenly it occurred to Ruby that what they were talking about didn’t fit in with the plot…She clicked information on the remote but nothing came up. Yami faced the camera and said something to Yugi who looked confused, and then a bright light began emitting from the screen. Ruby stood up, her deck still in hand. What the fuck!? She thought as she slowly walked toward the screen.
“It is time…come forth duellist!” Said a voice that resounded around the short teen, That….sounded like Shadi….but that can’t be right…he’s a cartoon…She thought looking around nothing had changed and the odd light was still coming from the T.V, Ruby walked right up to the T.V and crouched down the light was almost blinding, but she was curious and stubborn beyond belief, so, she stayed where she was.
There was an even brighter flash, causing Ruby to black out.
When Ruby roused herself out of her slumber and opened her eyes she found it was dark and she was outside to boot.
“Okaaay….I don’t think I’m in Primrose Sands anymore….” She said looking around, it seemed to be some kind of plaza or square, a train station was behind her and…It was starting to snow. “Snow!? I’m not even in Australia any more!!” She said panicking slightly. She was starting to get a little clod as she wasn’t exactly wearing warm clothes as in Australia, it was summer. Therefore she was wearing a tee-shirt, jeans and a non sleeved top with a hood over the tee-shirt. Not good things to be wearing in the snow! She started running in a random direction, I better find somewhere to stay or I’m doomed!…........DAN DAN DAAAAAA!!! Ruby stoped running for a moment to hit herself in the head for the last though, it was a habit her friend Holly had started, and whenever someone said doom she would say ‘Dan Dan Daaaa!’ It was weird, but then that’s what everyone thought of Ruby, at least…that’s what she thought. She began getting cold again so she started running once more, she was running for some time when she saw something and stoped outside something she never thought she would. Ruby Pack was standing outside the Turtle Games shop, the place where Yugi Moto and his grandfather lived. You, have GOT to be kidding me! This CAN NOT be what I think it is!! She thought walking up to the door, there was a light on inside so someone was up, maybe they would be nice enough to give her a place to sleep for the night. Who am I kidding? If this IS where Yugi lives…then he WILL give me a place to sleep…he’s WAY too nice! Ruby knocked on the glass door and waited, not long after the light came on in the shop and a young boy with Spiky blond, black and purple hair walked over.
“I’m sorry but we’re closed…” He said through the door as Ruby stared in shock, she was looking at Yugi Moto! “Miss?” Ruby shook her head and rubbed her half numb arms.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you…but I need a place to stay tonight, I don’t really know where I am and it's snowing, plus I don’t really have any money on me!” She told him stamping her slippered feet to warm them up. Yugi’s eyes widened (if possible) and he nodded, before opening the door to let Ruby in. “thanks…” She said as she hurried in wanting to be out of the snow.
“No problem…but why on earth are you wearing those clothes in winter?” He asked and Ruby looked at herself laughing nervously.
“Uhhhh….well….ahhhhhhhchooooo!!!” she sneezed and rubbed her nose. “Can I explain tomorrow? I’m kinda tired and I don’t feel to well…” Yugi nodded and showed her to a small room and found her a tee-shirt and shorts that were too big for him for her to wear while her clothes dried.
Ruby went to sleep wondering how she got to be IN Yugioh….
The next morning when Ruby woke up she found, to her dismay, that she was still in the small room that Yugi had shown her too the night before. Damn…as cool & amazing as this is…I was hoping it was just a dream… She got out of bed and walked to the door opening it, she stepped out into the small lounge room. Yugi’s grandpa seemed to be cooking breakfast and Yugi was nowhere in sight, though, she did hear water running so she figured he was taking a shower.
“Ummm….excuse me?” Ruby said uncertainly stepping toward the old man.
“Hmm?” Grandpa Moto turned and smiled when he saw Ruby. “Oh hello! Yugi told me what happened last night, are you feeling better?” he asked; Ruby smiled nervously and nodded.
“Yeah…a lot…thanks for allowing me to stay….Mr….” Ruby said not sure what to call him.
“Ho ho ho! Its quite alright, your clothes are over there, we dried them out and warmed them up for you, though I must say that they aren’t the best clothes to be wearing at this time of year…OH! Yugi found your deck in your pocket it's on the table…” He pointed & Ruby looked and saw her deck. That’s right…I forgot I was holding my deck when that weird light thingy happened…
“Thanks…” She said picking it up and looking at it.
“Its no problem and you may call me grandpa…I’ll serve breakfast as soon as Yugi is out of the shower…” he said Ruby nodded again.
“Ok….I’m just gonna go get changed k?” She said walking back ward and Grandpa nodded.
After Ruby changed into her normal clothes she walked back out and sat at the table to wait for Yugi who was STILL in the shower.
“Ok grandpa, I’m ready!” Yugi said as he walked out of the bathroom dressed in what Ruby recognised as his ‘Battle city outfit’. “Oh! Your up…” He said seeing her and smiling. Ruby nodded and stood up.
“Yeah…thanks again for last night I really appreciate it…” She said bowing and Yugi blushed slightly.
“Its no problem…I only did the right thing…besides I couldn’t just let you walk around in the dark and the snow in those clothes…” He said and Ruby smiled.
“I’m Ruby…” She said putting out her hand and he took it smiling happily.
“Nice to meet you Ruby, I’m Yugi…” He said brightly shaking her hand and Ruby grinned.
“I know who you are…Mr King-of-games…” She said and Yugi’s slight blush became more apparent.
“You know about that?” He asked a little surprised and she nodded.
“Ok…break it up you two its breakfast time and Yugi it's not polite to stare, particularly at a girl…” Grandpa Moto said walking over to the table carrying eggs and bacon, along with some toast. They all sat down and began eating; Ruby couldn’t help but glance at the puzzle around Yugi’s neck. I wonder if Yami is awake…he’s so cute! She thought s putting some egg in her mouth.

Yugi/Yami’s POV
Yugi was curious about the girl, Ruby, she had appeared out of nowhere and she didn’t seem to be from the area.
“Yugi…Who is that girl?” Yami asked the boy who’s body he shared.
“That’s Ruby…the girl I told you about earlier…” Yugi replied his friend smiling at her.
“Really…I take it by the way your smiling at her you like her…” The Pharaoh said smirking slightly as his friend began to blush harder.
“It's not that…I…just thought of something…that’s all…” Yugi said looking at Yami, who raised an eyebrow.
“And what might that be?” He asked as Yugi grinned and switched with the mighty Pharaoh.
“YUGI!!!” Yami stood up yelling at the puzzle, he could hear Yugi giggling slightly at Yami’s predicament.

Normal POV

Ruby stared as Yugi transformed into the Pharaoh Yami or Atem as he had been known, not that he remembered at this point in the series.
“YUGI!!!” He protested as the transformation was completed, he stood up, thanks to his hair he was now the ‘same’ height as her. He looked at her, slightly red from embarrassment and anger, the look made Ruby crack up with laughter. “Uhhhh….??” He was obviously confused and that fact made her laugh harder, soon grandpa began laughing at the poor pharaoh’s confused face.
Five minute later after she had more control of herself Ruby looked at him again.
“Sorry about that…but the look on your face was soooo funny…..I couldn’t help it…” She said with an apologetic look on her face, he shook his head.
“Its fine…I can understand, I suppose my face must have looked quite funny…” He said smiling and Ruby grinned.
“More than you know Ya-Yugi…” She quickly covered her slip and hoped that he over looked it. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
“Yugi!!!” A voice that could be recognised as Te’a‘s voice, Ruby forced herself not to roll her eyes or shudder, she wasn’t a BIG fan of Te’a. Yami went down stairs to talk to his and Yugi’s friends. Greeeaaaat…now I have to put up with Te’a!? Hell no! If she starts a friendship speech I may have to slap her! She thought as she stood up and slowly walked downstairs to where Yugi/ Yami was talking to ‘The gang’.
“So she just came out of nowhere last night? That poor kid…” Te’a said obviously assuming that Ruby was a small girl and not a teenager.
“Uhhhh….Te’a….” Yugi said and Ruby realised that they must have switched again.
“Yeah?” She said clueless as she had her back to the stairs and everyone else was facing them, Joey and Tristan exchanged glances as Ruby finished walking down the stairs.
“I’m not a kid…” She said and Te’a spun around wide eyed.
“WH-what?….but….” Te’a said looking from Ruby to Yugi. “Yugi what’s going on? Who is this?” She asked and Ruby rolled her eyes. Could she be any dumber!?
“Well Te’a….this is Ruby…The girl I was talking about…..Everyone I’d like you to meet Ruby my new friend…” He said bravely and Ruby had to smile at Te’a shocked face. Joey walked up.
“Hey! I’m Joey Wheeler, nice to meet ‘cha Ruby!” He said sticking out a hand and Ruby smirked.
“I know who you are….” She said and Joey cheered; beginning to gloat. “But I’m not impressed…” Ruby finished and he turned to face her.
“Say wha?” He said and Tristan grabed him in a head lock.
“Guess your not as popular as you thought huh tough guy!?” He said giving Joey a noojie.
“Well…honestly…from your duels…you rely a lot on luck…That’s ok, but you should actually try having a strategy once in a while…” Ruby said folding her arms and raising an eyebrow.
“Whaaaa?” Was all Joey said. Tristan released him and whacked Joeys head.
“She’s got a point man…You DO rely a lot on your luck and that can only go so far.” Joey looked from Ruby to Tristan and sighed.
“I guess you do have a point…but I an’t good at makin’ strategies…” He said and Yugi walked over and patted his friends arm.
“Its ok Joey…Ruby was really only giving you some advice…Right?” He asked her hopefully and Ruby sighed.
“Yeah…advice…sure…” Was all she said and Joey got a little peeved.
“Ok then Miss big-shot…Lets see what you can do!” He said and Ruby blinked.
“What?” She said and Yugi looked worried as did Tristan, Te’a on the other hand looked at peeved as Joey.
“You heard me; I challenge you to a duel Ruby!” Ruby blinked a few more times as his words finally sunk in. “well? Are you gonna duel me or what? Or are you too scared?!” He said and her eyes narrowed.
“You’re on Wheeler!” She said taking out her deck. “Why you’d think I would be afraid of a mutt like you I’ll never know!” His eyes widened after she said that. Oh…what have I gotten myself into? I can’t duel Joey, he’s way more experienced than me! But I won’t let him win!! Besides…I want to show Te’a! “Yugi?” She asked.
“Yeah?” He looked at her confused.
“May I borrow your duel-disk I haven’t got one…?” She asked him politely and Te’a got even madder as Yugi smiled and nodded. He pulled it out from behind the counter.
“Here you go Ruby…I just go it a few days ago so be careful with it…” He told her and she nodded. So…that’s when I am…Right before Battle City…interesting…maybe I can enter….But I think I’ll see how I do in this duel first… She thought as they all walked outside. Ruby and Joey got in their positions.
“Heh heh…don’t worry Ruby…I’ll go easy on ya!” He called across the field. Making Ruby’s stubbornness and determination kicked in.
“Don’t bother…I know your deck Wheeler…I know HOW you play…Do you know how I do?” She asked challengingly and he seemed to realise what he was up against, a duellist that knew him but he had know idea about her…he didn’t know what was in her deck, the style of duelling she used none of it! Perfect…now he knows what he’s up against.
“Let’s duel!” They both said. Never thought I’d be saying that with Joey Wheeler as my opponent…But I can do this…She thought determinedly. She drew her hand after the duel-disk set up.
Ruby drew the magic card Goblin thief, Elemental Hero Bursinatrix, her Ookazi and Polymerization magic cards and Princess Pikeru. Wait…These cards weren't in my deck….someone must have messed with it!!!!…but….who? She thought to herself.
“Ladies first…” Joey said and Ruby smirked always wanting to do this, she didn’t move.
“Well?” She said folding her arms and tilting her head.
“I SAID ladies first!” He said annoyed and she grinned.
“I know…I’m waiting for you to move…” Tristan burst out laughing and Joey looked really mad.
“SAY WHAT!? WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING!?” He demanded pointing at her as she laughed dangerously.
“Just make your move Wheeler…” She told him and once again everyone went quiet and stared at her; she smirked. “What? I don’t remind you of anyone do I?” Ruby asked and Joey shook his head.
“Your not related to Kaiba are ya?” he asked and Ruby rolled her eyes.
“AS IF!!” She said & began tapping her foot. “Are we going to duel or not!?” She asked and He began.
“Ok! Stand back!” He said as he drew his card. Why oh why do they say ‘stand back’!? It’s so annoying and predictable! She thought as he began to make his move. “I play Alligator Sword in attack mode and place one card face down….your move newbie!” He said and Ruby gave him an ‘I’m Soooooo scared look’ and drew her card. Luster Dragon #2…could be handy later on…but for now… Ruby put her hand on Elemental Hero Bursinatrix.“I play Elemental Hero Brustinatrix and I also play Ookazi, which inflicts 800 points of damage to your life points to you then…I'll activate ANOTHER magic card….known as Goblin Thief! This card takes 500 life points from you and gives them to me…that ends my turn ” She said she could see that Joey was nervous, that turn had taken his life points down to 2800; he drew.
“Alligator Sword! Attack her Elemental Hero!” The alligator worrier attacked Bursinatrix just as she new he would. Sooo predictable Joey… His monster attacked and Bursinatrix was destroyed. “OH YEAH!!!?” Joey said happily. Little does he know I have a VERY powerful card in my deck that isn’t supposed to exist in this place…thanks to Kaiba…
“My move!” Ruby said drawing her card, Pot of Greed….I gotta say…whoever changed my deck didn't do a bad job…. "I play Pot of greed! Now I can draw two more cards." She said and drew. Soul exchange…And; Elemental hero Bubbleman….hey…heh…. Ruby thought. "I summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman!" She said. "Then…I play soul Exchange and sacrifice your Alligator Sword and my Bubble man, to summon Luster Dragon #2!'" She said grinning as her dragon appeared. "I'll be nice and end my turn.." She said smiling unpleasantly.
Joey Drew and by the look on his face it wasn’t what he’d hoped for. “Ok! I play Scape Goat!” He said playing the card & four coloured goats appeared on the field. I just realised…he doesn’t have any REALLY good cards…he gets all those in Battle City! The only thing I have to worry about is his Red Eyes…perfect! “That’s all for now….your move Ruby…” He said & Ruby smiled & drew. Just what I need…Thunder of Ruler…She thought looking at the card.
“I place one card face down & that’s all…” She said looking Joey square in the eye; he gulped like he knew she had it in for him.
“Ok…uhhhh…My….move…” He drew. “OH YEAH!! THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKIN ABOUT!!” He cried & Ruby raised an eyebrow. “I sacrifice two of my scape goats to summon RED EYES BLACK DRAGON!!” He said as he placed in on the duel-disk & the hologram Red eyes appeared. “What’d ay think of that huh!?” he said & Ruby smirked.
“So what…you summoned your dragon…the most powerful monster in your deck…I’m SOOOOO scared…NOT!” She said.
“I’ll show you!” He said getting, once again, angry. “Red ey-”
“Not so fast!! I activate the trap Thunder of Ruler!!” He froze wide eyed.
“Wha?” he said confused obviously not knowing what the card does.
“This card forces you to end your battle phase…” She told him slowly losing patients with his stupidity.
“Awww man!!!!” he said ending his turn.
“I guess it’s my turn…” Ruby said drawing. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of the card she had drawn…Dark magician…Just what I’ve been waiting for! “I attack one of your scapegoats with my Luster Dragon #2!” The mighty Dragon attacked the goat just as a black limo pulled up as Seto Kaiba and his little brother Mokuba got out. Oh Great! This is just what I needed! Ruby thought looking at them.
“Well Wheeler…it seems you’ve found some competition….maybe…” Kaiba said and Ruby frowned. Now I really want to win…and….with THAT CARD!! She thought wanting to show Kaiba.
“Your move….” She told Joey…he drew & wasn’t too happy…I…I summon Panther Worrier in Defence mode!” Joey ended his turn & Ruby drew.
“Ok….I play one card face down…and that all…” She told him, he looked somewhat surprised as did everyone else.
“Ok then…” he drew, apparently his luck wasn’t with him once again. “I end my turn!” He said.
Ruby drew her card, Monster reborn…She thought a moment…
"I play Monster Reborn to bring back Elemental Hero Burstinatrix!" She said as the fiery Femme appeared. "Then I sacrifice both monsters to Summon Dark Magician!" She said and the Magician appeared. Joey gulped, he knew that monsters power…."DARK MAGICAN! ATTACK HIS RED EYES!" She commanded and the monster attacked the dragon.
"GAHHH!!" Joey said his head hanging.
"Your move Joey.." She said folding her arms. Joey drew his card.
"I play one card face down….that’s all.." He said and Ruby smirked at him; she drew.
"I summon Elemental Hero Avian…" She said the winged hero appearing next to Dark Magician. "Dark Magician! Attack his Panther Worrier!" Ruby cried and her Magician attacked. This took Joey's life points down to 2200.
"Aw man…." Joey said and sighed. Ruby shook her head, she never thought he would be THIS easy…
"I end my turn…" She said and waited for him to move.
"Ok….come on heart of the cards….don' let me down…" He said as he drew, Ruby heard Kaiba snort at this but ignored it. "I play monster reborn!" He said and Ruby smiled, glad he was getting back in the duel.
"That’s all for now….your move Ruby.." He said and Ruby nodded as she drew her card.
"Ok!" Ruby said and drew. Oooo…She thought. "I play red medicine! This card give me 500 extra life points!" She said as her life points increased to 3700. "That'll do it…" She said ending her turn.
Joey nodded and drew his card "Red eyes black dragon! Attack Ruby's Elemental Hero Avian!" he said Ruby smiled as his dragon destroyed Avian, making her life points drop to 2300. "That’s all for now.." He said grinning, thinking he was on a role.
"As you wish…" Ruby said drawing. "I summon Elemental Hero Clayman in Defence mode!" She said placing the card in defence position. Then, my Dark Magician will attack your red eyes again." She said before it did. "Your move…" She said lowering her head so he couldn't see her eyes…
"Ok…but uh…your not gonna go all crazy psychopath….are you?" He said as he drew.
"No…I just like freaking people out on the occasion…" She replied in a creepy voice. "Now…I suggest you make your move Wheeler.." She added just to creep him out further.
"Uh….ok…" He said warily, eyeing her up and down. "I play one monster face down in defence mode and end my turn."……Fine.." Ruby said and drew. If I draw that card now….I’ll win….She thought, Well…I guess this hasn’t been to bad for my first duel…he’s not gonna like what I do…but…I’m gonna! She drew, knowing it was the card she wanted & needed, she closed her eyes as she lifted it & then opened one…OH MY GOD!! I DID IT!! I DREW THE RIGHT CARD!! Ruby’s face suddenly went from worried to determined.
“Wheeler….I’m really sorry to have to do this to you….” She looked at the card in her hand. I sacrifice two of my monsters to summon….THE BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON!!!!!!” She said placing the card on the duel-disk and watching the hologram appear. Everyone was stunned, particularly Kaiba, he was in shock. The look on Joey’s face said it all ‘what the fuck?!’ That was the look on everyone’s faces. “BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON ATTACK WITH WHITE LIGHTNING!!!” Joeys face down defence monster was defeated . “Your move Joey…” She said giving him one last turn to help himself.
“Ok…….” he drew and it was obviously not a monster as he summoned nothing and ended his turn.
“Ok Joey…” Ruby drew and then sighing ordered the attack. Joeys LP were taken down to zero and the duel ended.
Ruby walked over to Joey and put out a hand. “Good duel Wheeler…” She said as he took it and she helped him up.
“Geez…Ruby…Ya could have warned me you were that good!” he said putting his hand behind his head and Ruby began laughing. “What? I say something funny!?” He said confused.....
