CHAPTER ONE

 

 

 

Raine stepped out of the Domino train station and looked down the street for her best friend, and cousin Yugi Motou. When she spotted him, she ran like hell and jumped into his waiting arms. After a giant hug, they found Gramps by the exit and went to the card shop, where Raine would be living and working at for the next year. Raine's mom died in a car accident and she never knew her father, so she went to live with her only other relatives. Not that she minded, of course. Yugi and Rain were like siblings, and Gramps was Raine's favorite adult in the family. When they got to the shop, Yugi introduced her to his friends, and (while blushing) his lover.

“This is Joey”

“Nice to meet ya”

“Seto”

“hn”

“Mokuba”

“it's very cool to meet a cousin of Yugi's”

“and finally, Yami, my umm, boyfriend”

“pleasure to finally meet you, Yugi has told me so much about you.”

“nice to meet you guys too, and don't worry Yugi, I'm bisexual, so I'm not bothered about you two. Actually, I think you picked a real hottie for yourself.”

Yugi just blushed while Yami puffed out his chest in mock smugness, and everyone broke out laughing, even Kaiba smiled. Later, after Raine's new friends went home she began to question her cousins (she considers Yami as a cousin) about a certain brunette with a really cute scowl.

Okay boys, spill. What's up with Seto Kaiba, is he single?

Raine, why don't you ask him yourself? He doesn't really hang out with the rest of us unless it's a duel tournament, but he seemed less distant to you than to us.

Oh, and speaking of tournaments, a new one is coming up. Pegasus is having a Domino City showdown for all previous champions of Duel Monsters, so we'll to check that out.

Awesome! I haven't dueled since the European royale, and as the only female European champion, this should be a good way to meet other girls into the game!!!

I didn't know that you dueled…oh well, but seriously, Raine, if you want to get to know Kaiba, then talk to him.

Or you can always get his dirty secrets from Mokuba by buying a copy of his diary for twenty dollars.

Huh?

Let me guess. Mokuba is selling his brother's secrets to his enemies for blackmail to hang out with you guys.

How did you know that?

She has always been like that.

Scary. Oh well, time for bed.
