Kim Kaiba walked down the street with her friends, Yuugi Mutou, Tea Gardner, Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor and Ryou Bakura. She looked at Yuugi's Millenium Puzzle, then at Ryou's Millenium Ring. ' I wish I had a Millenium Item' she thought. 'I'd give anything to have a Yami....'

As she opened the door to the Kaiba Mansion, Kim saw that only Mokuba was home. " Hey Moku. Seto's not home yet?" she said, sitting down next to Mokuba who was glued to the T.V. "Actually, Seto's away on a business trip," Mokuba replied, never looking away from the precious wide-screen T.V. Seto had bought him for his birthday. " A trip? Where?" Kim asked confused. Seto hadn't mentioned anything to her about a trip. "To Egypt. He said something about Ishizu and the Egyptian God Cards," Mokuba finished turning off the T.V. (finally).

`~` Two Weeks Later `~`

"I'm back!" Seto Kaiba called, finally returning from his trip. "Seto!" Mokuba yelled running as fast as he could to hug his beloved brother. Kim slowly walked out of her room and down the stairs to greet her brother. "Hi Seto," she said smiling at her Nii-sama.

"So Seto, did you bring me anything?" asked Mokuba jumping around the room like his usual cute/hyper self. "Actually, I did. Here Mokuba," he said handing Mokuba his prestent. It was an album full of pictures that Seto had taken on his trips. Mokuba was excited. "Yay! Thanks Seto!" Mokuba said hugging his brother. " I got something for you too, sis," Seto said reaching into his bag and pulling out a small, solid gold heart with wings. As she looked at it more closely, she say that it also had the Millenium Symbol on it. 'Could it be,' she thought as her eyes widened in shock. 'A Millenium Item? But that's impossible! There's only 7, Yuugi has the Puzzle, Ryou has the Ring, Pegasus has the Eye, Shaadi has that Scale and Ankh, Marik has the Rod and Isis has the Taukh,' she thought.

That night, as Kim lay on her bed playing with her gift she thought about the close relationships that Yuugi, Ryou and even Marik had with their Yamis. Sighing, she closed her eyes and held her gift tightly. 'I wish that this was a Millenium Item, and that I had a Yami.' she said, slowly opening her eyes and gazing at the full moon through her window. Suddenly, as if to answer her wish, the heart started to glow.

`~` Next Day, Domnio High School `~`

Kim Kaiba slowly walked down the hall to her classroom, her mind fixed on last night. 'This is too good to be true,' she thought as she opened the door to the classroom and walked in spotting Yuugi, Tea, Ryou and Tristan at their usual spot, Yuugi's desk. 'Where's Joey?' she thought. 'Oh well, he's probably late....again,' she thought, which made her laugh a little. Suddenly she felt arms wrap around her, squeezing her into a tight but gentle hug. " Hey Kim," Joey said with a smile, kissing her cheek. "I was wondering where you were, Joey," she said turning around and giving him a long kiss.

Duke Devlin watched from a corner of the room as his crush and Joey talked. He never took his eyes off Kim. Sighing, he thought to himself ' what I wouldn't give to be the one holding her, kissing her, being loved by her. But, I guess, she's happy like this. She doesn't even know I'm alive.' Suddenly, Duke got an idea. Not just any idea, an evil idea.

`~` After School `~`

Kim wandered the halls looking for Joey. 'I wonder where he is,' she thought. 'Even with detention he shouldn't be this late.'

Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her. She whipped around to see Duke Devlin standing behind her. "Well, well, well, here's a sight you don't see every day: Kim Kaiba without anyone to talk to. It's about time you got away from that idiot you call your boyfriend," he said, coming closer with each word. " Back off, Devlin. I don't have time for you right now," Kim said turning around to walk off. As she turned to leave, Duke grabbed her arm and pulled her into a kiss. Kim pulled away as fast as she could and slapped Duke right across the face. "Duke Devlin you sick little punk!" she screamed. "Come on, forget about Joey, what's he got that I don't?" Duke said, holding her close, apparently about to try again. "First of all, he has a brain!" she snapped, pulling away from him, fast. "Second, he has a pure loving heart, friends that care, and he knows when to quit," she continued, an evil glare in her eyes that pained Duke, yet he loved it as well. 'I love it when she's mad,' he thought. ' So perfect, if only she were mine.' "And finally," she said, " he has the one thing you'll never have Duke Devlin: my heart, and a love that will never die," she finished, a furious glare in her eyes.

Just as she said those words, the Heart began to glow. It shone a light so bright, Duke could have sworn he'd gone blind. When the light faded away, Kim Kaiba no longer stood there. She had been replaced by a somewhat taller girl who looked about the same age. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and it was blonde, almost brown, with 2 blue streaks on each side and one bright golden streak through the middle. She wore a tanktop with a purple and pink cape. Her skirt was blue and rather short.

She slowly opened her eyes. " Duke Devlin," she said in a voice stern enough to scare even the bravest man, " I guarentee, when I'm done with you, not only will you have learned your lesson, but you will feel pain so great, you'd be better off dead."
