------------------------------------------------------------- < p>As Harube sat in her chair on the airplane she kept wondering about the family heirloom she had inherited from her mother a couple of weeks ago after her mother had passed away. She kept thinking about how, in the will, her mother specifically instructed that she get it and no one else. Harube also remembered when she first saw it when she was five and how she asked her mother about. Her mother would always smile and say that she would get to keep when the time was right.

Harube thought about what it looked like, it was a pure gold armband with ancient Egyptian text on it and it had a strange insignia on it. It looked like an eye from Egyptian hieroglyphics that was engraved upon the golden armband.

Her mother had also left her a letter along with the armband which Harube had read over and over again to make sure she understood it. It had stated that she should never wear the armband unless she knew it was time to use it. Harube had no clue about what her mother meant about using the armband since she thought it was just a piece of jewelry.

The letter also explained how the armband had been passed down through her family for thousands of years to the oldest daughter and than how she would pass it on to her daughter.

Than it told of her bloodline and how she was one of the few direct descendants of the pharaoh in ancient times.

Her mother's letter also said that the armband had a name, the Millennium (Shennen) Armband and how this artifact had belonged to the pharaoh's beloved younger sister. Also that there were seven other of these items but this one was to stay hidden until the correct time to reveal it and that she could only show it to those who had the other Millennium items.

After that it said that Harube would be leaving Egypt to go live with some a family friend in Japan, Isis Ishtar.

After that tidbit, it was her mother's signature and that was all in the letter.

Harube had read it so many times that she had memorized it but she didn't understand at all about what significance the golden armband could have. She didn't really care about it either ,but she would keep it like her mother said.

She heaved a sigh and looked out the airplane window. It's just a stupid armband, she thought to herself, I really couldn't care less about it even if it is a priceless family heirloom. My mother was acting like it was magic or something, she sighed again.

Oh well…at least I get to go to Japan ,but I do miss mother…she deliberated to herself now melancholy.

Harube now regretted shoving the armband in her bag like it was nothing, she now longed to look at it to be reminded of her mother.

As she thought about retrieving it from the over head compartment, the stewardess came to her row, "Can I get you something to drink honey?" She asked like Harube was a six-year old instead of the fifteen-year-old she actually was and to make matters worse she was the same stewardess who had given her the flight clip on wings earlier.

"Just a soda, thanks." Harube said wistfully.

"What kind of soda honey?" The stewardess asked.

"Vanilla Coke, please." Harube answered remembering her manners.

The stewardess got out a can of Vanilla Coke and made a show of getting a plastic cup fill of ice cubes and a napkin out. She placed the plastic cup and the napkin on the table in front of Harube and handed her the Vanilla Cup. Ignoring the plastic cup, Harube just opened the soda can and drank it, still thinking about the armband.

Now that she was thinking about, it did seem kind of weird. Like it was eerie and it could be magical. It had been passed down in her family for five thousand years, so it had to special if her family hadn't sold it. Supposing it was 'special', what did her mother mean by she'd know when to use it? It just didn't make sense to her.

She gulped down the rest of her soda and placed the empty can on the table.

I'm being ridiculous, she told herself, thinking that the armband could have some sort of power. It's just a really old artifact that the oldest daughters in my family have been inheriting for generations upon generations.

As she pushed it out of her head the airplane intercom came on, "This is your captain speaking, we will be arriving in Domino, Japan in approximately thirty minutes. Please make sure all electronics are turned off, you chairs are in their upward positions and that your chair tables are put back into their proper locked and right position."

The same stewardess came back over to Harube, "Okay, honey." She said with a cheery smile on her face, "When we get off the plane I'll make sure that your legal guardian is there to pick you up." She smiled even wider than took my empty soda can, the napkin and the plastic cup of my table. Than she leaned over and pressed the button so my chair would go up and placed put the chair table in it's 'locked and right position'. Harube glared at her as the stewardess gave her one big, disgusting smile than turned on her heel and left to her seat.

As the plane started making it's dissent, Harube thought bitter thoughts about the stewardess as her ears popped painfully.

When they landed, Harube quickly tied her black hair up into high pigtails and brushed off white tank top and jeans. She remembered how her mother had written that in the letter that she wanted Harube to be polite and be as neat as she possibly could around Isis. Since Isis was only a couple years older than Harube, she also wanted to make a good first impression. Harube than put her sandals back on and put on short sleeve jean jacket on forgetting to button it up.

When almost all the passengers had gotten off, she made a move to get her luggage down from the overhead compartment. However, the stewardess saw her and insisted on helping her.

She got off the plane with her backpack on the Stewardess helping her with her two bags. Harube took one and when the stewardess's hand was finally free she grabbed Harube's free hand and dragged her off to the pick up zone.

Isis stood at the drop off zone waiting to pick up Reshanti's daughter. Reshanti had requested that her daughter live with Isis Ishtar and her brother instead of staying in Egypt.

As she waited she saw a stewardess standing next to a girl a couple feet away from her. It was a funny sight, in her opinion, the stewardess was trying to hold the girls hand but the girl wouldn't let her.

As Harube waited with the ever cheerful stewardess she noticed a young woman who was behind them and got a strange feeling.

"Honey," the stewardess said happy as ever, interrupting Harube's train of thought, "Is this your first time out of Egypt?"

"Yes." Harube grumbled, "I'm going to be living with a family friend."

Just than the young woman turned around and faced them, "Are you Harube?" This woman looked older than Harube by about seven or more years but Harube noticed that the woman resembled an Egyptian and figured this was who she was going to live with.

"Yes she is!" The stewardess exclaimed. "Are you Isis Ishtar?"

Isis nodded.

"Good, this is Harube." She pointed to Harube who was now trying to take off the plastic flight wing the stewardess had put on her tank top. Before Harube could take it off the stewardess put another plastic flight wing on her denim jacket and ruffled her pigtails, "She's a sweetie." She than pinched Harube's check than put Harube's other bag down and left still smiling.

Harube felt disgusted and rubbed her pink check as Isis extended her hand in greeting, "Hello Harube. I'm Isis Ishtar."

Harube shook her hand and tried to smile. When the hand shake was over Isis took Harube's other bag off the ground and waved goodbye to the stewardess who hastily walked away.

Isis beckoned for Harube to follow her as they made their way to the parking lot, Isis occasionaly glancing at Harube.

"What?" Harube asked.

"Nothing," Isis replied, "It's just you don't look a thing like you're mother."

"Oh." Harube responded.

It was true, Harube didn't look anything like her mother ,but that was mainly because she had died her hair black and put red streaks in it instead of leaving brown like her mother's. Also her eye weren't blue like hers, they were a dark shade of brown with twinges of emerald green.

Thinking about her self image, a picture of her mother formed in her mind.

Isis got the hint that Harube didn't want to talk about what her mother had looked like and remained quiet as they made their way through the parking lot to her car.
