Pharaoh Atemu roamed the halls of his over-sized palace. It was the year 2004, and the Millennium Puzzle had long ago granted him powers of immortality, along with his cousin Seth. The crimson-eyed Egyptian, according to the year, was then about 5,020 years old, if not older. His father, the previous Pharaoh, was unable to harness Shadow Magic as Seth and Yami did. As such, he died of old age, on Yami's twenty-first birthday.

As he was passing the kitchens, the Mage, Mahaddo, caught up with him.

"Yami! Did you hear?!"

"Yes Mahaddo? I do not know that of which you speak."

"The Light of our kingdom is coming! Shadi has found the Light and is bringing him to stay here, for the Light is meant to be with its Darkness. Rumor has it the Light is a teenage boy from Japan!"

The crimson-eyed Pharaoh blinked. "Light? Darkness?"

Mahaddo stared at his royal friend and master. He then sighed.

"You and Seth weren't paying attention at the meeting with the Egyptian Council, were you?"

The Pharaoh smirked. "No, my cousin and I have more entertaining ideas than that of listening to old men who think they know what is best for us, when they really just want our money. Tell me what you are talking about, Mahaddo."

The Dark Magician nodded. "Right. Well…You only have half a soul since you destroyed the evil that threatened us so many years ago. The one half of your soul is Darkness and the other is Light. You are the Darkness and the boy coming here is the Light. In actuality, you are two separate people with very different lives, but you're soul mates in a sense, and can be one on all levels: Mind, Body, and Spirit."

Yami Atemu sighed, "I understand. See to it that this Light arrives safely and is brought to my bed chambers immediately. I must have a discussion with Seth."

Mahaddo nodded, and hurried off to complete his task; which meant meeting Shadi at the airport. He grabbed his girlfriend's arm and headed off across the desert road.

At the airport, a nineteen-year-old with sharp, violet eyes and ivory white skin got off the plane with Shadi. His hair was tri-colored and he wore black leather so tight, it was like a second skin. He was as tall as Yami, five foot eleven, and their eyes and hair was nearly identical, save for a few minor details. Yugi yawned, stretching out a bit as he walked with the blue-eyed Egyptian. He was surprised when they stopped in front of a youthful-looking man who seemed like an Egyptian replica of his dueling rival and comrade Seto Kaiba. He was equally taken aback when he noticed another man beside him and a cheerful woman. Both looked liked his two favorite Duel Monsters, The Dark Magician and The Dark Magician Girl.

Seth studied the boy who had arrived with Shadi. He seemed good enough for his cousin. Now, to get him alone before he met Yami…He already knew the Pharaoh would fall in love at first sight. He glanced at Mana and Mahaddo, then to Shadi.

"Excuse me, I'd like to speak with the boy alone. That is, you don't mind…?"

Yugi bowed. "Ano…I'm Mutou, Yugi. Er..Yugi Mutou…however you repeat name's in this country…"

Seth smirked. "Yugi, I am Seth, the High Priest and cousin of the Pharaoh."

He then pulled Yugi out of sight of the others. He pulled a bottle from his billowing, blue cloak.

"Here, if you drink this, the heat of Egypt won't be so bad."

Yugi took the bottle. "All of it?"

Seth nodded. "Yes, don't worry though, it's only water…"

The violet-eyed teenager nodded and downed the bottle, handing it back to Seth who inwardly grinned. Too bad the teen didn't have a clue it was his most treasured Love Potion, not water.
