WARNING: SLANDER! LANGUAGE!

Elusive Dreamer: Wow…long review….I'll try to respond to everything you said. The hate group's role will become apparent later. Basically, they are the catalyst which makes Seto join Yami in his battle. How, you ask? You will see. Seto and Joey will appear more. I just had some set-ups to do regarding other plot lines. Vera's role….Vera's role in the story is similar to the hate group. But her role is to test the boys' relationship…and the grandmother's entrance has a similar function. As far as Yami giving away his plans, I had to bring new readers up to date as to Yami and his plans. In each story, I like to give references to the previous ones so new readers are not lost. I am not planning a Marik x Miranda x Daniel. Someone requested it and I have no intentions on going on with it. Miranda just likes to flirt with Marik. Doing that kind of lemon goes against everything that Daniel and Miranda are really about. So, no worries there. As far as his monster…I forget it's name…..I may add it. Yami is not going to be the only baddie. As far as Aten's fate, I don't want to give it away. And Ryou, yes his heart problem ends up getting worse…and you're right about adding Ryou's heart condition into the current story would make it more credible….I'll be sure to add that to my notes. I hope that answered everything.
Marik Ishtar77: Vera won't go in that room anymore…that's for sure.
Draza: I hope Bakura had enough after that….*hands twitching Bakura plushie*
Anubiset: Who wouldn't want to supervise? *snicker*
Lady Elfskye: *hands fan* Marik is so hot when he's threatening people.
Shadow Of Light: Marik does a good job of terrorizing…he's had a lot of practice.
Kura Magician Girl: Marik's not going to let anyone hurt the ones he loves.

A New Home

Joey pulled a card from his deck and chuckled. He looked up at his opponent. “Well, I hope you're ready for this! I summon `Breaker the Magical Warrior' (1600/1000) in attack mode! I put one counter on him and it raises his attack by 300 points! I can remove one spell counter to get rid of that pesky little continuous trap card of yours! Attack his “Divine Dragon Ragnarok (1500/1000)!”
Joey's monster raised it's weapon and lunged for the dragon.
“Nice try, puppy, but not today! I activate `Mirror Force'! All of your monsters in attack position are gone!”
Joey shielded his eyes as he saw the Flame Swordsman, Breaker the Magical Warrior, and Alligator Sword shattered. “Damn it, Kaiba!”
Seto chuckled. “That's more like it. I like to see you…exposed.”
Joey grinned. “I bet you do.”
“I know I do,” the CEO smirked, brushing his fingers through his hair. “Are you done, puppy?”
Joey sighed as he looked at his lifepoint counter. He was in trouble. “Yeah, I'm done.”
Seto drew a card. “Cheer up, pup-sicle. You're doing well.” A grin crossed the CEO's face. “Get ready, Wheeler! I play `Goblin Attack Force' (2300/0) in attack mode. I sacrifice my Divine Dragon and I summon `Kaiser Glider' (2400/2200) in attack mode!”
The dragon appeared on Seto's side of the field, roaring angrily.
Joey gasped. “OH……SHIT!”
“My, my, puppy! The language! And now, `Kaiser Glider,' attack Joey directly!”
Joey screamed as the holographic dragon lunged at him and bit him on the arm. Instinctively, Joey grabbed the arm as the dragon retreated. Joey watched his life points drop to 500.
The blond narrowed his eyes at his husband. “Are you done kicking my ass?”
The CEO laughed. “Not exactly. Goblin Attack Force, attack Joey!”
Joey screamed as the crowd of goblins charged at him with their weapons pointed at him.
Seto crossed his legs as he read the stock market report. He sipped a cup of coffee at his desk and took a bite of his donut. His office door opened and Robbie limped in.
“Hi, Mr. Kaiba! I'm ready for my first day of work!”
Seto put down the newspaper. “Come in, Rob. Take a seat.”
Robbie closed the door and sat at Seto's desk. He leaned his cane against the desk. “Thank you for letting me do this for you, Seto…I mean, Mr. Kaiba.”
“No problem, Robbie. Now, there's a few things all company employees must do here at KaibaCorp. First of all, the company secrets are not to be discussed with anyone. You are not to discuss anything that happens in this building outside. Understood?”
“Yes, sir.”
Seto raised an eyebrow. “I'm serious, Robert. Nobody is to discuss what goes on in this building. As my personal assistant and liason to the departments here, confidentiality is of utmost importance.”
“I understand, Seto. I promise not to discuss anything outside of KaibaCorp.”
Seto crossed his arms. “I'm counting on you, Robert.”
Robbie nodded. “You can always count on me, sir!”
“Good,” the CEO said, standing up. He reached his hand out to the teen. Robbie took it with a smile and shook his hand.
“I know I can count on your, I'll introduce you to the Department Heads.”
The phone on Seto's hip vibrated. He opened the cell phone and leaned against the wall. “What is it, Don?”
“Aria's here to see you.”
“Send her---.”
The door to the dueling arena opened and Aria stepped inside.
“Nevermind, Don. She's here.”
The CEO watched Aria approach him. A smile crossed his face as she walked up to him.
He felt the room spin and closed his eyes.
“Seto, are you okay?” Robbie asked as he grabbed Seto's arm.
The CEO opened his eyes and the hallway had changed. Tall white walls decorated with gold lined the hallway.
“Robbie?!” Seto asked as he looked around, finding Robbie gone. Seto looked down and found him in a long white satin robe. “What the--?”
Aria stood before him, her low cut dress revealing her creamy white breasts. Around her neck she wore a golden Ankh necklace. Around her head she wore a gold band.
“How are you, my lord?”
Seto swallowed hard as he looked down at her, freezing at the sight of her exposed breasts. “Aria, what's going on?”
Aria grinned as she stood in front of him.
“Hi, Uncle Seto!” She smiled. “I hope I'm not intruding.”
Seto felt the room spin again and he felt the pair of hands on his arm again.
“Seto? Are you okay?” Robbie asked.
The CEO's blue eyes opened and he saw Aria standing in front of him.
“You look like you saw a ghost,” Robbie said as he helped Seto steady himself on his feet.
“I'm…I'm okay, Robbie.”
[[Damn….it happened again! Why do I keep getting these flashbacks?! Maybe it was those eggs I had for breakfast. Maybe they were bad. But…I had another flashback yesterday when Aria was around. This is idiotic!
For me to look at Aria like that is just…..wrong! I changed this girl's diaper! I bounced her on my knee as a baby! I'm going to have to do something about these flashbacks….but what can I do?]]
Aria's eyes lit up and she clapped her hands together.
“Umi and I found the perfect home!”
“You did?!” Robbie exclaimed.
Aria removed a picture from the pocket of her dress. “It's a houseboat not too far from Mako! It just went up for sale!”
Robbie's eyes lit up. “Wow! That's a pretty place!”
“How much did he want for the place, Aria?”
Aria reached into her pocket again and Robbie's eyes widened.
”OH MY GOD! I couldn't make that much money if I lived one hundred years!”
Seto rolled his eyes. “Oh, please, Robert. I make more money than that when I sleep! Tell you what, Robbie….Joey, can you take him to meet the Department Heads?”
“Me?”
Seto nodded. “Yeah, I need to speak to Aria.”
“Sure.”
“Hey! Where's my puppy kisses???”
Joey laughed and kissed his husband's cheek. Seto gave the blond a light pat on the buttocks. “Good puppy.”
Aria watched as Robbie and Joey left the arena.
She took the picture from Seto. “What do you think?”
“I think…I think you're going to need some furniture.”
Aria shuffled on her feet. “Are you sure you don't mind?”
“Mind what?”
“You've done so much for us, uncle. I…I don't feel right asking for money.”
Seto shrugged his shoulders. “Aria, I just want to see you happy. That's all I've ever wanted.”
Aria smiled.
“Is that the only reason why you came? To tell me you bought a house?”
Aria shook her head and bit her lip nervously. “No….I came to tell you something important.”
“And that would be?”
*****************************************
Aten combined the blue and yellow paint on the palate, looking at the painting before him. Beside him, the sounds of Beethoven's violin and piano filled the air.
The teen dipped the paint onto the canvas.
`Something isn't right,' Aten thought, cocking his head to the side.
Aten breathed in the clean air deep and looked at the hanging ivy nearby, then to the clock. `Robbie's not coming home for……five hours yet. I hope I can finish this painting by then.'
“Aten?” Miranda asked as she knocked on the studio door. “Are you hungry?”
“No, I'm okay, mom.”
“Come in.”
Miranda stepped into the studio and looked around at the comfortable surroundings. Numerous hanging baskets of ivy and miniature roses hung near the windows. Spider plants and bamboo were scattered among the scores of paint cans, brushes, and cleaners. On the tiny altar in the corner, the statues of Ra, Isis, and Anubis were lined behind a row of half-burned candles and incense powder.
She stepped beside Aten and put her hand on his shoulder. It had taken two years before Aten could stop jumping when she touched his shoulder. Miranda had gained his trust very gradually over the years the he had known her.
“So far, so good. I'll be ready for a nap soon, though. I'm about done my hot tea.”
“Don't overdo it.”
“I won't,” he smiled at her.
“Dinner's at six, Aten,” she said as she left.
The Egyptian put his paints down and went to the corner. He looked at the paintings he had completed with a sigh. “Only four paintings completed…..I usually have about five or six for an art show.”
//You've lost a lot of things, my pet….your artistic touch is the least of them.//
/I'm doing the best I can./
//Your best is substandard….and always will be substandard.//
The teen narrowed his eyes, wishing he could face the demon in his mind. Unlike other yamis, Yami Aten was not a dead spirit infused into a Millennium Item. Yami Aten was born from the pain of his `playtimes' with his grandfather. Hence, his yami couldn't appear in the physical world since he had no physical body. However, when he took control of Aten's body, the shy, timid, sickly teen became a cruel, ruthless killer with a taste for blood.
Aten took a deep breath and coughed as he smelled the bitter scent of tobacco.
“Hello, Aten,” Vera smiled as she stood in the doorway to the backyard. She took a deep drag of her cigarette and blew into the air. “So this is your studio?”
Aten coughed. “Can you put that cigarette out? I can't breathe that stuff in.”
“The door's open, darling. Besides, the smoke disappears.”
Aten waved his hand in front of his nose. “I beg to differ.”
“I'll keep the door open,” she said as she walked inside.
Slowly she walked around the studio, touching the plants' leaves.
“Don't touch my plants, Vera. They….they don't like being touched.”
Vera chuckled as she ran the thick leaves a spider plant between her fingers. “I'm not hurting them, darling.”
Aten watched her sit on the dark green couch and cross his legs. She sucked on her cigarette. “Nice place you have here,” she said flatly.
“This is my place to escape and my space. I don't appre….appreciate…yeah, that's it….I don't appreciate you coming in here without my permission.”
“Lighten up, Abdul.”
Aten narrowed his eyes and growled. “My name is Aten! A-T-E-N! The least you can do is learn my name.”
“Good boy, you can even spell your own name! I bet Robbie is very proud of you!”
Aten grit his teeth and pointed towards the door. “Get out! Get out of my room!”
Vera crossed her legs. “I'm very comfortable right here.”
Aten winced and grabbed the table to keep his balance. He breathed heavily and closed his eyes. The teen's face turned color as he was hyperventilating from his fury.
“Why Robert stays with you is a mystery to me,” Vera said blowing out a cloud of smoke.
Aten swallowed hard. “My heart medic….medic-a-tion.”
Vera raised an eyebrow calmly. “Awww…do you have a heart problem, little boy? Such a shame.”
Aten staggered to the nearby chair and breathed deeply.
“You look sick.”
Aten growled. “I'm dying, you pompous, stuck-up witch!”
Vera rolled her eyes. “Now I REALLY don't know what Robbie is doing with you.”
Aten leaned over in his chair.
//I've wondered that myself. Why does Robbie stay with you, Aten?// Aten's yami teased. //You're weak…..You've been raped by your grandfather….And you are dying. Why would Robbie want to stay with your sorry, pathetic ass?//
Aten's eyes filled with tears. /Stop talking! Robbie loves me!/
//There's only one thing Robbie loves on you, Aten…..and you're sitting on it right now.//
Aten buried his face in his hands. “Stop talking! It's not true!”
Vera sighed. “Now you're talking to yourself, Aten. Great….dying, a freak, AND you're crazy. My nephew really picked a winner.”
//She's right, Aten……what a winner you are!//
Aten slowly raised his face out from his hands. His eyes watched her walk out of the Studio. Shutting the door behind her, a wailing cry came from the Studio.

Ryou wiped Kai's face free of peanut butter. “Look at you, Mister Messy Face!”
Kai smiled. “Dat Pee-Butter Tandiwsh wass good, Nana!”
Ryou smiled. “I can see you enjoyed it, messy little boy.”
The front door opened. “Mom! Great news!”
Ryou put Kai on the floor and saw Aria run into the kitchen. “Oh?”
“Mom, Umi and I found the perfect place! It's a houseboat not far away from Mako's!”
Ryou felt his heart sink. Aria was going to leave the home.
Now both of his children would be gone.
No more Kai.
No more Aria.
Aten had been gone for two years.
Umi would leave.
He would be left with no one but his husband and the Ishtars.
No more children.
Ryou swallowed hard. “Are you sure it looks safe? Did you look at it? Maybe you should look at it again.”
Umi strolled into the kitchen and picked up his baby boy. “Hey, Little Tadpole! We found a home!”
Kai's chibi eyes lit up. “WEAWWY? I tan get my own woom??!!”
“You sure can! And we'll sleep on the sea!”
Kai reached out and hugged his father. “I'm happy!”
“Isn't that great, mom? Here's a picture of it!”
Aria pulled out a picture of the houseboat and handed it to her mother.
Ryou looked at the picture. “Oh…it looks nice.”
Umi hugged his son against his chest. “I have to go to the bank and take out a loan tomorrow. We'll move in as soon as possible.”
Ryou returned the picture to Aria. “Nice. I….I have some laundry to hang up outside. I'll be in shortly.”
Ryou left and Aria turned to Umi.
“Did we say something wrong?”
Umi shook his head. “I don't think so.”
“Do you think now would be the time to tell mother about….you know?”
“No. We'll wait for another time, Mermaid. Now we have this little squirt to look after.”
Ryou stepped outside and covered his mouth with his hand. He closed his eyes tightly and felt the tears coarse down his cheeks.
Aria was going to leave.
Bakura told him it would happen sooner or later.
Why did it have to happen so soon?
Ryou approached the laundry basket and grabbed Malik's shirt.
[Ryou…….]
Ryou's head snapped up and looked around. “Yami?”
[Ryou….come to me in the Shadow Realm.]
The hikari dropped the shirt and covered his ears. “Stop….”
[You can't resist me.]
Ryou shook his head. “I will not go!”
Ryou opened his eyes and saw a purple haze surround the backyard. He felt a chilly air surround him.
“BAKURA! MARIK!”
Ryou turned to run and collided with a forcefield. He fell on the ground and screamed.
The Dark Magician was standing over him. “I am sorry. I must obey the pharaoh. Take him away.”
Ryou felt a pair of strong hands grab his arms and pull him to his feet. He threw his head back to see Mobius the Frost Monarch grab him by the wrists and hold him in the air.
“LET GO OF ME! HELP!” Ryou screamed.
Ryou struggled to free his wrists from the monster's grasp but it was a futile effort as he was carried into the Shadow Realm…..
