Beyond What You Know

Chapter Three

The Movie

********************

&nbs p;  The lights were off as the opening of the movie was playing. The sound of Simple Plan's "In a Perfect World" was in the background.

She slammed down the phone, blue eyes being smothered by tears, causing a brilliant cerulean shimmer resembling the ocean.

"No! This wasn't supposed to happen. Not to him. He doesn't deserve this!" The girl wore holy jeans and a green shirt with the word 'Green With Love' written on it. Her chestnut hair fell just past her shoulders and she looked in the direction of the camera. "Sadie, do you have to have that camera on all the time?" She asked, frustrated.

"Hey, don't blame me." She set it down, her green eyes focusing on the brunette. "What's the damage on Riku?"

        "Cancer."

"Well, they can just take out an organ, he'll be fine!" the one called Sadie said.

"No." The brunette looked at the girl, who had strawberry blonde hair. "You can't get a heart for cheap, and what about rehab? He needs special attention and medication!"

        "Oh God Tea, no."

Seto Kaiba was now watching this with interest. He had donated to this girl's cause. She was the one who robbed the bank. He knew she was a girl with the name Teana. Looking ahead to the girl in front of him, he laughed. They were total opposites.

"I know. What do we do? I mean we gotta get money for him somewhere!" Sadie moved to the middle of the room to her purse. "I have two hundred in my college fund. He can-"

"Keep it. We'll get him that money. But we won't have to pay for it."

"What are you going to do? Rob a bank?"

        "Exactly."

Sadie looked at the girl called Tea with a half joking expression. "You- you're serious, aren't you?"

        "Yes."

"Alright, I got nothing to do this summer. How are we going to get all the way to Seattle?"

"No, you are staying here. If I want to ruin my life, then let me go."

"Um Tea, this is the chance of our lives. Duh! I'm coming. We might as well do it together. Two heads are better than one." She paused. "So how do we get the money to Seattle from Chicago?"

"Alright," Tea said, picking up the camera. "This is what we do..." The screen went blank and the scene changed.

The bottom of the screen displayed the date. July 10th. It was dark outside, and the blue eyed girl and her friend sat in the front seats of a car.

"You seriously can drive this thing Tea?" Sadie asked.

"Tch, what did you think they taught me when I was at my uncle's farm? I learned how to drive."

"Well, your mom took the keys. Now what?"

Tea lowered herself into the seat. "Simple. You just got to-"She connected some wires"-there!" The car, a blue Neon, roared to life. She simply pulled out of the driveway. "Do we have everything we need?"

        "Yeah."
< p>        "Alright. Let's go." Tea pulled out of the driveway. The scene ended there, and then came back, a few seconds later.

        "Sadie, run!"

Back in the classroom, there were numerous complaints because the bank robbery wasn't shown.

Both girls were running down the street, where Sadie was holding the camera, and Tea was ahead, with a huge stuffed backpack.

        "Uhh, Tea?"

        "Yeah?"

        "The car?"

        "What about it?"

"The car is the other way."

"I know. And unless you'd like to go back and get caught, I suggest you remember the rules of this escapade."

        "We are criminals now."

"Thanks. Now, check car handles as you pass by."

        "Alright."

The two turned the corner, and found a white Ford Taurus. "Alright Tea. Let's go!"

They got in the car, to find the keys still in the ignition. "Lucky break!" Tea hit the gas and they sped off at highly illegal speeds out of the town.

This was the point where the teacher stopped the movie, much to the disappointment of the class. Tea looked over to Sadie, white bandana still in her lap. That article would be making it's appearance shortly.

"So, what do you think of this movie so far?" The teacher, Mr Walski asked. A few hands were raised. Tea leaned back in her seat. Sadie followed her example as the teacher called on Yugi.

"Personally, I think that this Tea and Sadie, as ironic as it would be, are brave. But I wonder why they had to steal that money. It seems kind of stupid."

Tea, before the teacher could answer said, "She wasn't rich as you can tell."

"Really, Miss Gardener. What else do you know about this girl?" Mr. Walski looked at her with severe curiosity.

"Not too much," Tea lied. "I think her mom was a single parent."

"Well, I guess we'll find out. Who else has something to say? Hmm, nothing huh? How about you Mr. Wheeler? Or were you sleeping?"

"Simple. Dat girl cared about er broda. She wanted him ta live and she woulda done anythin' she ad ta."

"But she broke the law, Mr. Wheeler." Mr. W. commented. "What about that?"

"She needed money and she had to make a statement." A female student, Haruka, said.

"Maybe. We'll see as the story continues."

When the lights were turned off again, the screen now showed the two driving across the country, this time however, Sadie was in control of the car. The other girl was sleeping. In order to keep themselves safe, one slept and one had to be awake at all times. The girl looked at the camera with a quick grin. The interior of this car was much different than the Tauros.

        Fast Forward Twenty Minutes ~

Apparently the camera was rested in Tea's lap, because when she began to stir it fell to the side, showing the backseat.

"Hit the gas," Tea said commandingly. "I hear the cops!"

        "I don't."

"You will, just do it. We aren't that far from Seattle as is."

"I know. I know. I can't believe we haven't been caught yet." Sadie began to make the car go faster and faster, until they were going about ninety.

"We will though. I hope we make it there in time first."

"You always said to have faith. When you gave me that bandana."

Meanwhile, Tea looked to Sadie. The blonde mouthed, with the video "Remember when my Dad ran out on me, you gave me this, and I pummeled you? Then you said that it didn't stand for defeat. It stood for perseverance."

"The secret signal." Both Teas smiled. It made sense. As they approached the border of the city, the sound of the cop cars got louder. Both got out once in an alleyway and jumped up a fire escape, and into an abandoned fire escape and finally an abandoned apartment building.

"You know it's only a matter of time until they find us."

"I'm not afraid, Tea. I wouldn't have followed you if I was."

"What do we do then Sadie?"

"I'll stay, lead them off your path. Take the money and go. It's only four miles to Seattle. Save Riku."

Tea hid a few stray tears."After everything we've done, you're just going to call it quits?

Sadie smiled."If I don't they'll find both of us. I'll buy you enough time to get out of there. What you do after is your choice."

Tea could hear a few kids sniffling in the background of the classroom. She looked at Sadie who wiped away a pretend tear. "God, Sade, was it really this corny?"

        "Dunno?" Sadie whispered back.

"Thank you Sadie, I love you." There were hugs and a customary handshake, which Sadie and Tea replicated in the class.

"Don't mention it Tea. Don't mention it."

Tea turned to leave. Suddenly, she stopped and turned around, grabbing the camera.

"Once this is over, everyone will see what we've done to save my big brother. So when they do catch me, someone will help out our cause."

"Go! They're here!" Sadie's face was insanely calm. She was about to get sent to a prison camp, that's what they had said if the two of them were caught, and both were only thirteen. Their licenses were already suspended until they were eighteen, because of Tea's road rage stunts.

Tea ran down the fire escape and down an alley. Going out the back way, she spotted a nice car. It was a Corvette. So, she checked the door. The loser had left it unlocked, and Tea slid in, and connected a few wires. With the camera, she pointed it in the direction of an open window where Sadie was now being arrested. She wiped away a tear until she saw something out the window. A white bandana was being waved. In this case it didn't mean defeat.

The brunette hit the horn long and steady then untied the bandana from her sleeve, hit the gas, and waved it in circles out the window as she sped down the street.

"This is the last day," Tea said, to no one in particular. This all ends now."

************

A few minutes later, Tea was shown walking into the hospital, obviously going to find her brother. She went from walking briskly at the entrance to sprinting into the room.

"Funny," Tea whispered to Sadie, "I didn't think I walked that fast."

"I didn't think that we were such horny children either, but you never can tell."

Seto Kaiba looked over to the two girls. What in the name of blue eyes were they talking about?

Looking up, Tea had now entered the room, making it obvious that her brother was in need. He looked horrible. More sniffles were heard in the room, causing the tissue box to be passed around.

"Hey mom, Riku." She said, looking at her brother with such concern that tears began to form in her eyes. Tea's mom got up and looked at her with shock.

"Where have you been? The cops have been looking for you! They said that when you disappeared from Chicago that you robbed a bank!"

Tea looked up at her mom and smiled at the fact that they really had come all that way. "Yes. I did. But it was a federal bank." She looked over at Riku, who was now a little more awake, and looked at both with a little curiosity. "I got the money! He can have that operation! Me and Sadie did this for him! He's got to be saved. Just got to." She looked at the camera, fingering the bandana tied around her arm.

"You can't Tea. We can't use that money." Looking around, the mother continued, "Where'd you put it?"

Tea took off the backpack, emptying the twenty some million dollars all over the floor. Her mother gasped.

"THIS IS THE POLICE! COME OUT WITH YOUR HAND UP!" The mother was freaking out now.

"Don't worry mom, they don't want you. They want me. Whatever you choose to do now is your choice." The camera was picked up again. "This is my story mom," The camera got a good view of her face. "Tell the world." The girl hugged her mother then handed her the camera. Her cerulean eyes shimmered as she took a step to the door.

Before she left though, she took a final look at her brother, giving him a joking salute and mouthing something to him. She then entered the hallway. Her mother held the camera out into the doorway, making sure she herself wasn't seen and that her daughter was.

In real life, Sadie took Tea's hand. This next line was the only thing linking them to this story. Tea squeezed her hand and smiled with pride.

"TEA GARDENER, you are hereby under arrest-" Everyone in the class looked at Tea, to include a wide eyed ceo and a teacher. Tea smiled cooly and looked at Sadie.

"God," Tea said, looking at her classmates, "Sadie got arrested too, don't freak out on me!"

The movie continued, showing the numerous charges that Tea had faced, before the credits rolled. The last scene scared half the class.

It was a judge, the one who condemned both to a prison camp. Tea sat in the stand, looking at the judge who was looking at her, apparently looking for an answer.

The girl sat up straight, looked the judge in the eye and said,

        "I have no regrets."

That was the end. The shaken class started to talk amongst themselves, as the teacher turned off and rewound the tape. As soon as he did this, he called Tea to his desk.

"Why didn't you say anything to us?" Mr Walski asked fear in his eyes. "You could've told us and we wouldn't have shown the movie. I should clarify with the class that it wasn't-"

"It was. Why do you think me and Sadie look this way today? For our health? I don't think so. It's how we used to dress." Sadie took this time to approach the class.

"So guys," She said sitting on the edge of an unused desk in the front of the room, "What did you think of our life story?"

The entire class began to chatter and grow louder and louder.

"SHUT UP!" Tea yelled, joining her comrade. "One at a time. Joey, go first."
