Birth by light, death by darkness
Chapter 2:Sic itur ad astra -Thus one goes to the stars: such is the way to immortality
Last time:
Amused by her brash actions, Mai caught Anzu's fist in mid-air. She roughly pulled the irate girl towards her, leaning her head down and licking Anzu's ear. "Ugh! Let me go! Let me go!" "No", Mai whispered in her ear, "You will be mine." Anzu stopped her struggles, looking up at Mai with a different fear. "I don't understand what you want with me." Anzu whimpered, on the verge of tears. "But there's no way I can win. I give up. Do what you will." Anzu bowed her head in shame. But what was she to do? She didn't have her angel with her, nor did she have the pendant.
An apartment building is not a good place for her change, especially after the little ruckus I caused down there. Mai smirked, watching people flock towards the grotesque sight, unable to keep their eyes off; like watching a train wreck unfold before them. Anzu hung limply in Mai's arms, waiting for…well whatever Mai had planned for her.
Faster than any human could keep up with, Mai dashed off the balcony and into the peaceful night, Anzu gripped onto her arms, holding on for dear life.
Only minutes later, Mai and Anzu arrived in a forest a little ways away from Domino city limits. Anzu immediately let the vice grip she had on Mai go and scampered a few feet away from her. Doubt and fear shone perceptibly in her gaze; which she kept locked on the older vampire's. Mai studied Anzu's reaction to her and was pleased on how brave Anzu at least tried to appear. Mai purposefully stalked towards Anzu, reminiscent of Anzu's dream so long ago. The difference this time was Mai had different plans for Anzu other than feeding off her. Even if it has been a long while since she's fed…
Slowly, she circled around Anzu, each one of their gazes never leaving the other. Faster than her human eyes could discern, Mai leapt behind Anzu, wrapping her arms around the younger girls' waist; a bit more intimately than Anzu would have preferred. Anzu struggled to get out of the unwanted embrace, failing miserably.
"Anzu," Mai whispered huskily into her ear, "What to do with you…" Mai pondered out loud. "Should I…"she trailed off, bringing her plump, red lips to Anzu's ear, sucking lightly on the bottom of her earlobe, "Suck you dry?" Anzu shivered, disturbed on how she found the gesture to be stimulating, and wondering if the double meaning in her words was intended or not.
Mai pressed her body against Anzu's, slowly turning the frozen girl to face her, delighted in the curves she felt snug against her own. "If I were you Anzu," she purred out, "I would've rethought my submission, because you are mine now, now and forever."
With that, Mai lowered her head and sank her fangs into the soft, warm flesh of Anzu's neck. She gripped onto Mai's arms trying to push the vampire away but as her blood was being drained from her body, so did all resistance. Her beautiful indigo eyes became empty orbs as she was being led to the hazy and dark threshold between life and death.
Mai was having a hard time restraining herself from drinking every last drop of Anzu's blood. Whether it had something to do with the fact Anzu was still a virgin, making it all the more pure and the taste all the more sweet, or the fact Mai hadn't fed in quite some time; she didn't know. Reluctantly, she pulled her head away from the nook of Anzu's neck, licking her lips clean of every last drop of the sweet blood, savoring the taste.
Mai brought her own wrist to her mouth, opening it up, flinching at the sight of her own blood. A dark crimson liquid began to pool where she had bit herself, and she brought the "potion" of immortality to Anzu's mouth. She sucked heedlessly at first, until her bodily system began to absorb the virus like wildfire. The demonic entity broke down her human genetic makeup, reassembling it to that of the nightwalker and destroying or metamorphosing any unneeded organs or tissues. The virus entwined itself into Anzu's very psyche, making sure there was naught but her instinctive manners and personality traits. (Meaning her personality is still there, maybe just a bit more…primal)
Mai pulled her wrist from the fledgling vampire, cooing incoherent words when Anzu began whimpering of hunger. She let go of her new creation, admiring the physical effect the virus had on her. Her hair grew a little, till it was a bit past her shoulders and remained the same cinnamon-y brown in color, but was more vibrant and silken to the touch. Her skin which was unblemished before was now a soft milky-white color, gleaming in the moonlight, contrasting well with her now lush, deep red lips. Her eyes were still the light indigo in color, but had a dark sapphire corona around them, like a dark halo, framed by thick eye lashes.
She cast those striking orbs towards Mai now, warily eyeing the mysterious stranger. Anzu's preternatural instincts told her a potent force was very close, and sniffing the air, Anzu found sharp electrical currents flooding off Mai in waves. Cautious, she backed up while Mai stepped forward. "You have nothing to fear from me child", Mai tittered, amused by Anzu's trepidation, yet pleased at the same time. Very good. Then her senses are strong. The final stage is set, now to complete this and make her mine. Mai let out a giggle before closing the gap between the two, staring deep into Anzu's eyes.
"Anzu, I have chosen you to serve me, and in exchange for your loyalty, I have granted you life eternal." "You were born and nurtured by my own blood this night," Mai's voice bounced off the trees, "The bond between us is infinite and all encompassing."
Anzu kept her charier gaze on Mai, still not completely trusting, but for some reason, wanting to hear more. Mai knew Anzu would awaken confused, lonely, helpless and hungry, which she used to influence the other girl to her will.
"Without me, you will be alone. Follow me, and you will be at my side when we secure this world as our own, become the animals' masters. Do you promise to never betray me Anzu?" Cast in a sea of uncertainty and the unknown, Anzu latched onto that one thing that she felt was familiar: the innate craving and desire to be with someone, to not be alone, to have someone, anyone at her side.
"I, I promise." After those words fell from her lips, Mai grinned wider than ever. What once was yours Shizuka…is now mine.
"Come. The sun will rise soon, and we need somewhere to stay until night dawns again." Mai began walking towards the exit of the forest, back to the city limits. Anzu began to follow, but stopped when her thoughts became too much. Who am I? What am I? I'm not…human?
Standing in the forest, Anzu craned her neck upwards, and gazed up at the star-drenched sky. It was like a dark, velvety tapestry, bejeweled with millions of radiant, twinkling diamonds dancing around the luminous full moon in a romantic story all her own. For that moment, all doubt and confusion about her identity and purpose was washed away as euphoria of pure bliss surrounded her. She felt an extraordinary oneness, a harmonious link with all creation just watching the night sky in its entire splendor. Up until Mai's berating voice cut through her moment of peace, that is.
"Anzu, pull your eyes from the sky! We could stand here admiring the stars all you wish, but the sun will rise soon! It's time to go!" Grumbling quietly, Anzu grudgingly trudged behind Mai, bumping into her after a few minutes when Mai stopped suddenly.
Mai raised a finger to her lips, indicating her to keep quiet. Curious, Anzu walked ahead and saw a car. Nothing out of the ordinary; just a plain-old powder blue and white Lincoln. A little confused, Anzu cast a questioning glance towards Mai behind her.
"Your first feed", Mai whispered, grinning. She crept towards the car, motioning for Anzu to do the same. Out of the blue, Mai leapt onto the roof of the car, digging her sharp talons through the metal, laughing delightedly when she heard frightened screams come from a male and female.
A few seconds later, two flushed-looking teenagers ran out, the female holding her shirt closed and the male holding his pants up. Mai yelled for Anzu to stop them, and her hunting instincts kicked in. She bounded in front of the man, while Mai jumped in front of the girl.
Anzu pushed the whimpering blonde, maybe eighteen or nineteen, up against the car, watching Mai. The older vampire took her time with her playmate, also a blonde, most likely seventeen, with rather considerable assets. Anzu held the struggling boy in place with her newly-acquired strength, watching how some one more experienced plays the game.
"We just wanna have a little fun, sugar", Mai murmured in the girl's ear while slipping the shirt off of her completely. She stroked the frightened girls' cheek gently, trying to ease her fears, and succeeding. She managed to stop crying and looked up at the vampire cautiously. "You…what?" She asked mystified, "Want some fun", Mai repeated.
"Now, tell me your name". "Its-its Sandra; and he's Van", she added nodding to the guy trapped in Anzu's not-so-friendly grip. Not so afraid anymore, she actually leaned in towards Mai's caressing hand, finding that she was a bit turned on.
Mai smirked as her hands slowly slid down the girls' nubile body, finding their destination, her breasts. She cupped them and gave them a firm squeeze while Sandra moaned, cocking her shoulders and arching her back for more contact. "You like what you see?" Sandra boldly cooed, eliciting an amused giggle from Mai, a disbelieving snort from Van, and a snicker from Anzu.
"Oh yes, let me show you just how much…" Mai pulled the girl snug against her own body, Sandra's arms wrapping around the vampire's waist as Mai brought her lips down to Sandra's cheek, kissing lightly. They became a tangled mass of soft arms and legs and sweet smelling hair. Mai's wet lips traced a path along Sandra's flushed cheeks, down to her neck, and Sandra felt warmth and moisture pool in between her legs. She moaned as Mai sucked, nipped, and placed wet, whispered kisses all along her body in intricate patterns as her hands freely roamed the soft flesh of the girl before her.
Then, with a soft growl, she struck. In a flash of pearly white teeth and splash of crimson blood, she sunk her fangs into the peachy skin of Sandra's neck. The young girl screamed and her knees buckled as her and Mai tumbled down to the ground. Anzu watched, just a tad disturbed, once again holding down Van who had become hysterical by now.
When the girl had been sucked dry, Mai rolled off of her onto the ground ready to bask in the afterglow, her eyes glazed over with perverse satisfaction as she waved for Anzu to go ahead. A little uncertain, she turned to face the boy, but was shocked as his fist collided with her face. Reeling, she held a hand up to her cheek, not really hurt, more surprised than anything else. He ran away from the two quickly, still holding his jeans up. Mai snarled and was going to go after him, until Anzu fled after.
Now it's personal. Her primal side had taken over, and she would feel no sympathy for whatever she would do to him. Van had a good head-start, until he tripped on his pants, that is. He flew head first into the soil, breaking out into tears as he knew his life was to end on this night.
Anzu pounced on his body, taking no time to play the sensual games Mai did, tearing right into his succulent flesh. She bit him in the neck, then his arms, legs, everywhere, his screams of pain not reaching her ears. She finally sunk her fangs fully into the side of his throat, entirely draining him of his life-force.
When she was complete, she got off him, and sat down panting. Licking her fingers and lips clean, she noticed Mai standing over her with an approving look in her mauve eyes. "Very nice…except now we have to make it look like the two love-birds had a fight."
"What do you mean?" Anzu cocked her head to the side as Mai produced a silver knife out of the sleeve of her trench coat and smeared some blood of the girl and boy on the razor-tip edges. "I've slit her throat to disguise the markings, and you should too where his bite-marks are. We can put their finger-prints on it, and naturally, we don't leave any. It'll look like a lover's quarrel turned deadly." Nodding, Anzu followed through with Mai's orders. They dragged the body over next to Sandra's, her once clear-blue eyes now staring emptily at the sky, his once dark brown also spookily staring up completely void of any life, and jumped in the car.
Anzu turned on the ignition, and maneuvering the smooth Lincoln came just like second-nature. "Off to our new future together! A future filled with more blood than you can imagine! The animals' will be our slaves, and we, their Queens!" Mai declared brazenly as they drove off to the city, to their new, bloody future.
Three vampires' sped along the highway in their sleek, red viper, which Mai and Anzu had stolen a few years before, at a speed that could easily rival one of the best NASCAR racers. More than eight police cars were chasing them down, having a hard time with Anzu's fluid turns and practiced planning.
The headlines of the small, country town they were fleeing from that day would read "An unholy corruption hits Galesville: The secret behind theLogan's' disappearance."
"Raine and Jared Logan have been reported missing for a little over two weeks, along with their eleven year old son Spencer Logan and two daughters; eight year old Kristin and seventeen year old Brittany Logan. They were the proud owners of the massive estate on the very north side of Galesville. Spencer was a young up and coming football star, already the quarter back on his junior team. Kristin and Brittany were the town beauty pageant winners, Kristen being queen in the children's division and Brittany in the young adult. Both received straight A's and Brittany was the valedictorian of her senior class.
"It wasn't up until just yesterday that the authorities decided to finally check the property out for any indications as to the family's whereabouts. What they found would forever remain a perverse, deranged part of Galesville's history."
"At approximately 12:37 P.M, a few members of the small, yet highly esteemed Galesville police force raided the serene Logan ranch located on Danvers St."
"They scoured the top floor where the bedrooms and bathrooms were located and found nothing out of the ordinary. The downstairs was carefully picked through and yet again, nothing was found that could help pinpoint the location of the respected Logan's family."
"Perplexed, they went to the outside and found the door to the cellar locked. They forced their way through, fully armed and ready for anything, except the sight those brave (Dun' get me wrong, I hate police men, those pigs…pork is icky) police men beheld that enigmatic day."
*Flashback*
Four officers, including the sheriff, were dispatched to check out the Logan's' estate. Blaine Aubrey was a handsome looking young man in his early twenties, unkempt fiery red hair down to his shoulders and shocking cerulean blue eyes that contrasted with his hair very well. A slight tan graced his lean body and he had an average height. Blaine was new on the force, and though he wouldn't show it, he was about to piss his pants. He didn't even want to be a police officer; he's only doing this to make his parents' proud, he is their only child after all. His eyes kept darting around, feeling as if a demon was about to pounce on him. He wasn't too far away from the truth.
Sean Truman was a cocky man in his late twenties. Sandy blonde hair adorned his almost irresistible baby face and bangs fell into his magnetic baby blue eyes. Tall and muscular, he always knew how to get what he wanted; women namely. A heartbreaker, a player, a-low-no-good-dirty-dog; he's been called all these and many more. Now, sneaking around the Logan's' ranch right when the sun was about to set, he didn't feel so smug anymore.
Kurt Marshall was a short, rather mysterious looking boy. His was a beauty that not everyone saw or could appreciate. He's the youngest in the squad; exactly twenty years of age. Many people shied away from him because he had and aura of darkness around him. He was an obscurity, an enigma. Yet if anyone had actually gotten the chance to know him, they would've found he's one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He has jet black hair that was cut so it curved around his milky pale face and down to his chin. He has dark black eyes with a touch of violet and a silver ring was studded in his right eyebrow; along with the silver ring on his bottom lip and left ear. Not one you would suspect to become a police officer, is he? Well his story is similar to Blaine's; he lives with his twenty-six year old Sister Renee who is currently in the hospital for leukemia. He just wants to make the only person in his life that cares for him proud.
The last member, the sheriff, was a large bulky man, evocative to a big, cuddly bear. Yet this bear has claws and he isn't afraid to use them at the slightest provocation either. He has brown hair trimmed down to a crew cut and hard grey eyes looked out from the rim of his sun glasses; which he was still wearing despite the fact the sun was about to disappear over the horizon. The name-tag on his tan uniform read Ian Carson.
"It has a pad-lock", Sean whispered to Ian over his shoulder as he struggled to undo the big steel hindrance. "Move it, ya chit!" Ian bellowed while pushing the smaller man out of the way.
"Hey! I take defense to that!" "Offense, smart one" Kurt mumbled avoiding the glare sent to him by Sean and for some reason secretly pleased when Blaine shared a laugh with him.
With a grunt and a heave, Ian managed to actually tear the lock from its hinges. He ordered the three boys to go on ahead first, and followed after; closing the large wooden door behind them. The cellar actually was made up of five different rooms. They walked through the hallway and encountered a large circular antechamber with five different doorways each leading to a separate room. Two large wooden doors padded with steel locks and deadbolts were situated on the north wall, and two smaller doors were positioned on each side. The four men split up, each choosing one of the four smaller rooms to investigate.
Blaine chose the door farthest to the left, and opened it with a long, theatrical creak. He stepped in, and jumped when it shut by itself behind him. The room was dank, pitch-black, and the thing Blaine was afraid of most at the moment: it reeked of death.
His breathing became a little heavier, and he quickly grabbed the flashlight hooked onto his belt, fumbling with the switch. The beam of light hit the wall in front of him and he almost fainted at the sight. There in front of him, were Mr. and Mrs. Logan, tied to the wall with leather restraints. With a shaky hand clamped over his mouth and nose to try to not breathe in the stench, he cautiously stepped towards the couple for a better look. The husband Jared's, body was completely unrecognizable. His face was mutilated and his blood dripped out of the slashes into a pail that was there to collect the drippings. For what purposes, Blaine willed himself to not think about.
Raine's body was in pretty much the same shape, except for part of her clothes had been torn off. Blaine choked back the vile in his throat, stumbling backwards towards the door, unable to keep his eyes off the carnage.
Sean took the next door in line, the second from the left. Opening the door with false bravado, he hesitantly stepped inside. No foul smells assaulted his senses like Blaine, but it too was damp and dark. Not the quickest thinker, he ran his hands along the wall looking for a light switch. He obviously didn't find one (seeing as how there was no electricity hooked up in the cellar) but his hand brushed against a wax cylindrical shaped object. Realizing it was a candle, he took a lighter he had out of his pocket and lit it. The tiny flame didn't provide enough light for him to see the room in, but he saw other candles set in holders.
Lighting them too, the room was illuminated in a soft glow. Sean Truman had stumbled into the room in which the ingredients for dark magic were kept. In the very center of the room, a pentagram was painted in blood and a black marble altar stood underneath a large, wooden upside down-cross. Shelves lined the left wall, and occupying those shelves were glass jars filled with a variety of things from animal parts floating in formaldehyde, blood Mai had collected (Anzu was not comfortable in vile acts, so the carnage Blaine saw was all done Mai), and other eyesores. Little bags were piled on the shelves too, and in them were different herbs used for spells such as St John's Wort.
He looked to the right wall and saw swords, maces, and other weaponry adorning it. Not wanting to stay in such a dangerous place, he quickly turned around and left. Great police officer, huh?
Kurt entered the door farthest to the right, smart enough to get his flashlight ready. A little unnerved when the door automatically shut behind him; yet he kept a neutral face on. For some reason, he felt not even a twinge of pity when he saw Brittany tied to the wall in the same manner as the Logan couple. In fact, his pale pink lips even curled upwards into a satisfied smile. Bitch. That's what she gets for playing with my heart. (Did I say Kurt was nice? Well, he is, as long as you don't get on his bad side.) But when he swung the flashlight to the other side and saw the eight-year old Kristen disfigured as well, then his heart felt that ping of sympathy. Shaking his head, he slowly turned around and walked out the door, the same neutral mask he had when he entered the room on his strangely beautiful face.
Ian walked towards the last door left; the second from the right. Before opening the door, he took his gun out and readied it for firing. Keeping it poised in position in his right hand, he opened the door with his left. He walked to the center of the room and grabbed his flashlight, swinging it in a large arc until the beam of yellow radiance fell on the western wall. Once again, another member of the Logan family was restrained to the wall; Spencer, the eleven-year old young football star. Only, Spencer was still alive. Barely. "Oh my God! Son, are you okay?" Of course he isn't. Smart question, ass. "There's- a light on the ceiling. F-find the string." Spencer managed to croak out.
The oversized police officer groped blindly in the air for the string, unsuccessfully finding it until he finally realized he could use the flashlight to find the switch. When the idea finally got through the fat around his brain, he put his gun down on the floor and grabbed the string; pulling on it with a soft "click". He waited until his eyes adjusted to the brightness the bare bulb brought on and went straight to the boy, undoing the straps and gently lowering him down.
"T-they're not human", Spencer began, but was cut short when he went into a coughing fit, spewing phlegm and blood onto Ian's uniform. "Hey, hey, hey, hey, take it easy, huh? Don't talk anymore; we're gonna get you outta here, how's that sound?"
"NO!" Spencer exclaimed, raising his head to stare into Ian's eyes through the sunglasses. A fire was in those emerald green orbs, a fire that any normal eleven wouldn't be able to manage. "You have to kill them now, before the sun goes down! You have to! I told you, they aren't human!"
"Of course not son, but we're just gonna get you to the hospital, okay?" "Please listen! They're vampires! The only reason I'm still alive is because they're using me as "blood reserve!" And the blonde one…she's pure evil…please go kill them now, before the sun sets!"
"Mmm-hmm, we will son, don't worry. But I'm taking you to the hospital before we go do any vamp-hunting, ya hear?"
"You aren't listening to me!"- Spencer stopped in mid-sentence as those pretty green orbs of his rolled back into his head. "Mother of Christ…" Ian muttered as he passed his hand over the boys' eyelids, closing them. Cradling Spencer in his arms, he stood up and walked out of the room.
A nauseated-looking Blaine, frightened-looking Sean, impartial-looking Kurt and a grave looking Ian; carrying Spencer, all came out of their rooms at the same time. "By the looks on everyone's faces," Ian spoke out giving a glower to Kurt, "We all saw some pretty messed up shit." He finished gracefully.
Blaine ran to the corner, losing the lunch he had earlier. "We know what happened to the Logan family", Sean said nodding to the boy in Ian's arms, "But who did this?" Ian snorted before saying, "The boy was rambling somethin' about vampires before he took his last breath."
"The sun has set", Kurt stated solemnly as he watched the last light fade away from a tiny crack in one of the enamel covered windows. "Isn't that just fucking wonderful? Could you stay on the topic, here? You think you're so smart, don't you, freak? Why don't you enlighten us with your words of wisdom, oh great one?" Sean said with a mocking bow.
"I'd watch what you say to me, ass." "Oh really? What's witch-boy gonna do about, huh? Are you gonna turn me into a frog?" Sean pushed Kurt back with a haughty arrogance reminiscent of high school. "Hey, c'mon guys, there's something more serious going on here then you're petty differences, okay?" Blaine, who had stopped vomiting a few minutes ago, stepped in to stop the fight before it turned into something worse.
"He's right you punks, we were sent to find out what happened to the Logan's."
"But we did find out what happened to them, why can't we just leave the who and why up to the investigators?"
"We should be leaving," Kurt declared, back to his dispassionate mode. "Aww scared of the da"- But Sean was cut off as the groan of the large double doors opening could be heard.
They all turned their heads to the doors, Blaine and Sean readying their guns and Ian reaching down for his, cursing when he remembered he left it in the other room. As the doors fully opened, Kurt shone his flashlight and they all gasped at the sight of two gorgeous and exotic looking woman.
"Well lookie here Anzu, it seems we have some guests! I am oh so happy you decided to visit us, though I do wish you waited for an invitation."
Kurt's gaze stayed on Anzu the whole time, ignoring the blonde bomb-shell, which was greatly making Anzu nervous. He knew what they were. He knew the whole time. And he wants to be one of them.
Sean raised his gun towards Mai, his hand shaking. "Y-you did this, didn't you?" "Oh, now, why I'm flattered, but Anzu drank from them too! So we have to give some credit to her too, now don't we?" Mai giggled at the look of horror on all the men's faces (except Kurt) and Blaine raised his firearm to the older vampire as well. "I can't believe you're making jokes about this!" Blaine exclaimed, before he pulled the trigger, bullet tearing straight through Mai's stomach.
Kurt snorted as Mai's tissue regenerated itself. Her face twisted into an unpleasant mask of anger, a black fire roaring in her dark purple eyes. She pounced on Ian first, bringing the big man down and sucking him dry while Blaine called for re-enforcements on his walkie-talkie. Anzu noticed what he was doing just a little too late, but she bounded up to him anyways, high-kicking him in the face. He fell to the ground in a heap clutching at his broken nose and screaming in agony.
Kurt watched with twisted fascination as Anzu bent down and licked the blood pouring out of Blaine's nose. "H-help me, Kurt! Help me!" Keeping her eyes on Kurt's, Anzu lowered her head to Blaine's neck, and bit. She drained him of his blood, gauging Kurt's reaction to the situation. Sean had been taken care of by Mai already, after she had a little "fun" with him of course.
"So, Anzu. What do you think we should do with this one?" She noticed the interest Anzu had taken to him while she was playing with the blonde guy. Maybe…maybe he can tell me what it's like to be a human. Maybe he can help me remember my past. I want to know…
"I think…I should play with him, maybe, make him one of us?" Mai smirked. That's the answer she expected from her. "Go ahead, I'll just be in the house, tell me when you're done…playing."
After Mai had left, Anzu's eyes lost the hard, predatory look that was in them from the thrill of the hunt. They looked almost pleading. "Kurt." Anzu said softly. Thrown off by her sudden mood swing, he just stood there, his black/violet eyes locked onto Anzu's indigo/sapphire. "I will change you, that is what you want, isn't it?" He nodded dumbly, waiting for her to continue. "But you have to help me"-
"Anything you want! I'll do it for you!" He exclaimed rather passionately. She let out a nervous laugh, put-off by his overwhelming ardor for her. But she got serious again and walked up to him. "I want you to help me remember my past, when I was human. I can either choose to erase your memories, like Mai did to me, or I can keep them intact. You are going to keep yours, but you have to pretend around Mai that I erased them okay?" Mai hasn't told me anything about how we met or my past. I had a dream of some one though…someone with fiery red-brown hair and kind, warm, honey-brown eyes. We were in a field, and it was sunny…I liked the feel of the sun shining down on me, but I can't feel that anymore.
Shaking her head clear, Anzu continued. "I'm not putting you through the full change because we will need someone to take care of daylight matters, someone able to go out into the sun without being burned." He nodded, and Anzu closed the distance between them.
Mai climbed up the steps to the cellar door. Pushing it open with ease, she jumped onto the cool, damp grass, relishing the feel of the moonlight shining down on her. Her moment was short-lived however, as she noticed all the police cars speeding to the ranch, sirens blaring and lights flashing.
Cursing, she flew back down the stairs just in time to see Anzu holding up a bleary-eyed and newly changed Kurt. "We have to go. No time for questions, come." Nodding, she and Kurt quickly followed after Mai and into their red viper. (Which leads back to the highway chase.)
"What's up ahead?" Anzu called out to Kurt who was in the back seat. "It's the airport!" He yelled back over the velocity of the wind. "Go there, Anzu! I have an idea!" Mai turned around and crawled in the backseat, golden locks flying back with the wind. Pulling a charm out of her pocket along with some kind of powder, her eyes rolled back as she did a quick prayer to the dark lord and then a short chant. She shot her hands forward, and blue flames erupted from her palms, shooting at all police cars. She shrieked in glee when she heard all their screams and could smell the burning flesh and liquefying of metal, Kurt staring up at her with amazement.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the small airport. Kurt led them to the front desk where Mai then took charge. Using a simple mind controlling spell, she managed to get the last three tickets to, well anywhere. But those tickets' certain destination was London, New England.
*A couple of years later…(London)*
New nightclub, "Crimson Tears" looking for a band to play opening act at the grand opening! Can be experienced, garage band, male, female, doesn't matter! Come after sun set if you're interested.
Bakura's red-brown eyes narrowed as he thought if he should call the rest of the band to go with, or to just take care of business by himself. Fuck them, he thought, I'm the lead singer, I'll be fine without them. They'd just screw it up anyways. He thought of the mismatched band and a smile came over his rough face before he replaced it with a scowl. Well, it was mismatched besides the bass player, Bakura's twin brother, Ryou. His brother was currently asleep on the couch next to him, angelic face set into a blissful smile, illuminated by the moon's glow shining through the window.
Getting up quietly so as to not disturb his brother, Bakura grabbed his black leather trench coat making sure a demo tape was in the pocket and made his way out the apartment into his car. The address was that of an old warehouse at the docks. The outside was renovated nice, Bakura thought idly as he pulled into the parking lot of "Crimson Tears". A bright red neon sign was above the main door, little tear-shaped blood drops dripping from each of the letters. Bakura "hmphed" and knocked on the door loudly.
His heart caught in his throat at the vision before him when the door was finally opened after four of his loud assaults on the door. Clad in a tight silky, floor-length sparkly dress stood Anzu. A glass of what appeared to be thick red wine was held in her nimble fingers and the two just stood there staring at each other until Kurt's annoyed grunt and Mai's amused giggle cut through the tension. Anzu smiled sheepishly and, surprisingly unlike him, Bakura had a faint pink tinge to his cheeks. But he just couldn't take his eyes off her! Those eyes are beautiful…among other…things…He thought trailing off, a sort of perverted look on his face. Anzu cleared her throat and Bakura finally stepped in, shutting the door behind him.
To be continued….

I really appreciate reviews and constructive criticism. I will not tolerate reviews that simply say "Anzu's a slut!" I will have to come after you then. And don't think that I won't, either…I hate any kind of bashers. Flamers are okay, as long as they have something intelligent to say, valid reasons behind their arguments, and aren't flaming the person because of a certain character/pairing.
If you leave a review, I just may review your story!!!! But these are the only YGO pairings I'll read:
Anzu/ANYONE (that includes yuri)
Mai/Jou
Shizuka/Seto
Shizuka/Jou
Shizuka/Otogi
It's okay as long as there are other pairings in it (such as yaoi), but only if it's a side-pairing. And I, of course, will not read Anzu bashing unless it's in a playful manner. Hell, I do that about all the characters.
