Creatures of the Night
Pairs: Y/YY R/B M/M maybe S/J
Summery: Yami, Bakura, and Malik are vampires on a mission to find their lights. Yami is the only one left who has yet to do this and time is running out. After he finds his Hikari, the other must relent to give up everything to be with his darker half. Will Yugi really do that? And he must become a vampire as well.
He walked to the very edge of the grand building, standing up on the ledge, looking down. The city was silent in the night; he could only hear the minute sounds of electricity flickering through the lamp poles. He grinned; white teeth gleamed in the moonlight, his blood-red eyes shadowed over. He was wearing an interesting all black attire, black leather pants that stretched over his legs like a second skin, a matching belt with a silver buckle wrapped around his slim waist.
A long-sleeved polyester and cotton black shirt covered his well-muscled torso. The shoes he wore were black as well, with silver, metal studded chains as buckles. A black, studded collar adorned his smooth neck, black cloves covered his hands, which matched his tall spiky hair, and a silver metal chain fell over his neck, holding the pendant known as the Millennium Puzzle.
Yami's leather jacket hung loosely off his shoulders, creating the shadowy figure of a man with confidence. He smirked, then jumped down from the seven-story structure, landing on the street below on one knee, unscathed. Looking up at the full moon, he dashed off into the night, ready to embark on the hunt.
~~ ^_^ ~~
A little violet-eyed, spiky-haired boy ran around the alley corner and into the street, praying like mad that they didn't catch up with him. Over the years, he had become a speedy runner, but that didn't always help. Once they caught up with him, it was all over. Behind him, large footsteps were heard. 'Oh no,' he thought, 'I have no chance.' He was right, not a moment later; the three bullies had caught up to him. The one in front grabbed the back of the little one's jacket and threw him to the ground. He scrambled to stand up and run away, but his efforts were fruitless. Unfortunately, the darkness of the night hid whatever they wished to do from the eyes of anyone who may try to help. The bully's name was Ushio; the other two were called Jimmy and Greg.
It only took them a minute or two to pin the violet-eyed boy to the ground. Ushio was the one who made the first punch. Greg and Jimmy started kicking the boy until he bled, making them laugh. He struggled. Oh, how he struggled, trying desperately to get away from his tormentors. They slashed at his pale, creamy skin with their large, rusty knives, making sure each cut drew blood. Greg picked the petite teen's broken body off the pavement and leaned him against the brick building beside them. The bully had to hold him up or the little teen would fall. Jimmy then carefully, almost gently removed the boy's uniform. Ushio just watched, an ugly grin etched on his repulsive features.
"You're going to pay for running away like that, little runt." He laughed harshly. Yugi barley registered the other's cold, cruel voice. The blood loss had made him weak, nauseous, and lightheaded. He blinked blood out of his eyes and the chilly air hit his now unclothed, shivering form. Greg let him fall to the ground in a small, trembling heap on the brutally freezing pavement. They laughed as he quivered feebly, wishing they would just leave him alone.
"Don't worry, twurp, we'll warm you up." Taunted Jimmy, while the three of them advanced.
Ushio always went first, ordering Jimmy and Greg to hold Yugi down, not that it was completely necessary due to the boy's nausea. The large bully unbuttoned his pants and pulled them down just enough, then thrusted roughly into the little one's mouth. Thrusting harshly, not caring how much it hurt Yugi. Greg and Jimmy followed the suit. Once they were finally finished with this, they left, slapping each other high fives as if they just did something worth celebrating.
Yugi refused to cry in front of them, trying with all his might not to, but it never worked. When they saw his tears, they knew he was weak and that they found their easy fuck for the night. After the tormenters left, Yugi couldn't move. Pain was all he knew for the next who knows how long. As much as it hurt him, he sat up. Instantly pain shot up through his legs and he collapsed. It took him a while, but he finally made it to his feet and over to his pants. He tripped over a rock on the ground and fell to the ground again. Tears poured down his pale cheeks as he laid his head down in utter misery. Blood and semen was smeared all over his broken body. He felt completely worthless.
He turned himself over, sat up gingerly, and pulled his dark blue pants and boxers up over his legs, then to his waist. He stood up slowly, each action nothing but searing pain. Finally, he couldn't stand it and simply collapsed to the ground face first. Yugi knew it would be impossible to stand again, so he just stayed there, knowing that he would be vulnerable to any of the night prowlers looking for an easy catch.
~~ ^_^ ~~
The creature of the night prowled for a new victim to sate his need. He needed blood. Blood kept him alive. Blood kept him from going insane. He sniffed the air and smirked. Blood. It was fresh and smelled mouth-watering. The night prowler grinned maliciously into the darkness, knowing he had just found his victim. Using his keen sense of smell, he followed the scent.
It led him straight to a small boy lying face down on the pavement in a pool of his own blood, crying into his bleeding arms, long slash marks blemished his white creamy skin with scarlet streaks. The boy seemed oblivious to his presence. The creature looked down at the tiny, half clothed figure strangely. The boy looked just like him! That was rather unusual. No one he's ever seen had the same spiky hair. Did this boy also have the blonde bangs to go with the red and black spikes? The little teen looked up, sensing the presence of another. He gasped. So did the taller. The boy's bangs were golden blonde. The little one quickly stood and backed away, ignoring the pain that refused to leave his battered body.
The taller creature stepped forward. He didn't want to slay the boy, but he didn't know what he did want to do. All his actions were becoming impulsive, as if some higher force was guiding him. That was when he noticed the color of the little one's eyes. They were a shocking amethyst, deep and extraordinary. He stepped forward again; ignoring the way the petite boy flinched and backed into the building behind him, whimpering. He was now so close; he could practically feel the little one's hot breath on his chest. Yami brought his arms up on both sides of the shirtless child, not wanting him to run off, then searched his memory for the human language.
"What happened to you?" The dark one asked, carefully hiding his fangs as he talked, then noticed the impossible amount of bruises, cuts, and blood that covered the boy. The little teen let the other's baritone voice wash over him.
"T-they…they b-beat me." Yugi answered in beautifully soft voice that made Yami want to just take the boy into his arms and hide him from the violence of the world. Yugi kept his eyes to the ground, shivering. "W-what's your name?"
The creature of the night was startled for a moment, wondering why the petite boy would ask him that. "Yami." He replied, then automatically asked, "What's yours?"
"Y-Yugi." He whispered, tears still staining his face from earlier. Yami ran his hand along the boy's cheek, wiping them away. Yugi flinched again, unfamiliar with kind strangers.
"Well, Yugi," he bent down to whisper in the small boy's ear, "Do you have a shirt around here somewhere?"
"Y-yes, Y-Yami." Yugi stuttered, blushing slightly. "I-I did, but I-I don't know w-where."
Yami nodded, as if that answered something he didn't want to ask directly. He moved his arms so the teen could run off if he wanted too, then glanced about for the shirt. When it was nowhere to be found, he simply grabbed Yugi by the hand. He didn't know why, but he felt a strange need to protect the little human boy. Yugi recoiled terribly at the other's touch, suspecting the worst. Yami looked back at the little one.
"I'm not going to hurt you." He replied gently, looking straight into Yugi's eyes. He didn't know why he was telling the boy that. His first intention was to kill him. "Just come with me."
Yugi knew he had nowhere else to go, so he may as well go with this stranger offering…what? He didn't know where this man was taking him. 'I guess it really doesn't matter,' he said to himself, 'anywhere is better then here.' Yugi looked up into the crimson eyes of the man called Yami and nodded. Yami smiled slowly, almost as if he'd nearly forgotten how. This made Yugi curious about him. The dark one removed the jacket from his shoulders and handed it to Yugi, telling him to put it on to keep cozy until they got to his home. Yugi protested for a moment, not wanting to dirty the jacket with his blood, but after Yami insisted, the little teen accepted gratefully. The jacket was big on him, but it was warm.
"T-thank y-you." Yugi replied to the kind gesture softly, lowering his eyes.
"…You're welcome."
They walked for a time, Yami never letting go of Yugi's hand. The dark one allowed Yugi to lean on him heavily knowing the petite teen was in pain. Yami's 'house' was an old apartment in the building he had jumped from. They walked up to the door and entered. Along the hallway were many gray-blue doors with numbers on them. Many were missing or broken. The pale green carpet was worn and tired, leading them either up the stairs or down the hall. Yami led them up the stairs; his room was on the second floor. They were silent as he got out his keys and opened the door.
As they stepped in, Yugi could see a rather old and tattered couch, it was a creamy manila color with pictures of flowers embroidered onto it. The TV was a small fifteen-inch screen, with the old-fashioned bunny-ear antennas. Yami finally let go of Yugi's hand gently, not wanting to scare the little one further, then sighed.
"Stay here until I get back." Yami commanded.
"B-but w-where are you g-going?" Yugi asked timidly. "P-please don't leave me alone."
"I'll be right back." Yami realized that the boy needed his wounds patched, but he couldn't go much longer without blood, staying with the human would only entice him to suck the little teen dry.
"P-please w-wait." Yugi insisted quietly just as the door slammed behind Yami. He sighed softly. What was he supposed to do? He was in a strange apartment and knew nothing of the neighborhood. Being as timid and withdrawn as he was, he was easily frightened. Apprehension came over him, so Yugi sat down on the couch after first lying the jacket down so as not to get blood on it, drew his knees to his chest, and waited.
~~ ^_^ ~~
Yami thought that he should go after the little one's attackers. The idea seemed to have just come naturally to him. He smirked to himself when the scent of a human with Yugi's blood on him entered his nostrils. They were the ones. There were three. Yami grinned. This would be easy. There was little time for Ushio and the others to even think before they were overtaken by darkness. They had no chance and knew it. Ushio laughed dryly, thinking of the runt they'd just beaten up, since the creature killing him ironically looked like Yugi.
"You disgust me." Yami told them as they lay bleeding on the concrete. A purplish goop oozed from their ears and eyes. The vampire laughed maniacally, then said, "You're lucky your blood is so tainted or I'd drink your veins dry."
Yami wandered around for a while longer, finding enough people to sate his need. He couldn't keep his mind off the little one in his apartment. Why hadn't he just killed him? The boy's blood smelled delicious enough to drink eternally. Also, he was already bleeding, so what stopped him? He still didn't know when he returned back home. Yami opened the door to find Yugi sound asleep on the couch, curled up off to the side, looking small and vulnerable. The unfeeling vampire's heart clenched painfully in his chest. The little one was so innocent and pure. He wanted more then anything now to just cuddle up with the human and… he shook himself, wondering how he could've possibly contemplated such a thing.
Yugi moaned in his sleep, turned over, and curled up even more. Yami walked over to the couch and positioned the boy so his head was in the vampire's lap. The little one smiled slightly. The dark one, however, was confused by his own actions. Never had he shown and interest in humans, not once. There were a few he had picked up and had fun with, but it was only what people called a one-night stand. Yugi mewled, another noise that Yami classified as cute. That is until he started getting upset. It seemed that the little teen was having a nightmare. Yami had seen bums on the street have weird nightmares. They were almost convulsive, as if they were having seizures. He didn't want Yugi to go through that so he decided to wake him up.
"Yugi. Wake up Yugi." Yami shook him gently, knowing it wouldn't take much to hurt the teen in his condition. Slowly, the hikari opened his eyes and sat up, looking around frantically, frightened. Yami assumed Yugi forgot where he was and gathered the boy onto his lap, wrapping his arms around the violet-eyed boy comfortingly, careful not to hurt him. Yugi leant into the embrace, hoping to stay like that for a long time.
"T-thank you."
"No need to thank me, Yugi." Yami replied enjoying the closeness as much as Yugi, but hoping he could keep himself in check with the beautiful creature on his lap. "Now, we'd better get you patched up before you get blood everywhere."
The vampire had meant it as a joke, but then realized that Yugi was now only feeling guiltier about the couch and jacket. Not knowing how to take it back without being obvious, Yami just went to the bathroom and retrieved bandages, gauze, ointment, and adhesive tape. After the blood and other substances were wiped away, Yugi clenched his teeth when the taller applied the cool white ointment to his creamy pale skin. It burned at the touch, but he bared it, wincing only slightly. When Yami took notice, he made a point to be more careful while wrapping the bandages, which he proceeded to do next. After finishing, the vampire surveyed his work and smiled, pleased.
The little one had bandages going all the way around his middle, around his upper left arm, and around his right wrist. After that, Yami realized exactly how grubby his guest's clothes were and retrieved clothes from his bedroom for the boy to wear. While Yugi was changing, Yami discovered a few placed where the boy's legs needed bandages. Yugi blushed as the cold vampire wrapped his upper leg, having had to slide the bottom of his boxers up a bit.
"T-thank y-you." Yugi said for the millionth time, still blushing.
"Yugi, you don't need to keep thanking me." Yami replied, his crimson eyes drinking in the sight of the small boy in only a pair of pale blue boxers. The little teen had not yet put on the borrowed clothes and was lying on the couch with his legs on Yami's lap as the taller finished wrapping the smaller scratches.
"I-I'm s-sorry." Yugi apologized again, blushing brightly when Yami absently began stroking his exposed legs.
"You don't need to keep apologizing, either." He insisted. Yugi nodded, not trusting himself to talk. "Now, put these clothes on and don't thank me for it, okay?"
"O-okay." Yugi did as he was told, standing and dressing quickly. He didn't mind changing in front of the other, after all, they were both guys and it wasn't like he was removing his boxers. After he was finished, Yami surveyed the clothes he'd chosen: a pair of dark blue jeans that had to be rolled up and kept slipping down the boy's tiny waist, and a baggy black, long-sleeve t-shirt. The sleeves went over the little one's hands cutely and the collar went off his shoulder. He looked absolutely adorable. Yami chuckled.
"Are you hungry?" He asked as the boy sat back on the couch. Yami maneuvered so Yugi was on his lap. Yugi nodded in agreement. "Then let's go into the kitchen and see what I've got."
Yami took one of his legs and moved it so the little one was straddling his waist, then stood, holding Yugi with one hand on the boy's back and the other under his bottom. Yugi wrapped his arms around the dark one's neck, burying his face on the other's shoulder. A genuine smile appeared on the vampires face, for the first time in many years. The yami began running his hand up and down the boy's back. Yugi snuggled closer as they walked into the kitchen. As much as he hated being treated like a child, it seemed okay when Yami did it. The dark one set him down on the counter.
He went over to the refrigerator, keeping his back to Yugi so the teen didn't see the cold containers of blood. Unfortunately, that was the only thing in there besides a few cans of soda. Sighing, Yami checked the freezer. Frozen blood and an unopened container of ice cream. The dark vampire wasn't sure that ice cream would be filling for a human, since it wasn't for a vampire either. Yugi waited until Yami walked over to him, stood between his legs, and pressed their foreheads together.
"I'm sorry, little one, I don't seem to believe in food around here." Yugi giggled at the bad attempt to make a joke. On impulse, Yami ran his hands up and down Yugi's legs for the second time, the boy looked down shyly, blushing.
"W-we could go o-out to e-eat." The hikari suggested quietly, blushing harder. "I-I have a bit of m-money." He hoped the yami didn't mind the idea.
"Great idea, little one." Yami agreed, bringing his face closer to Yugi's. Their lips were almost touching. "Where should we go?"
"I-I d-don't know." The little one whispered, his lips only centimeters away from the taller's. Yami patiently closed the short gap between them, slowly capturing the teen's lips with his own, making sure to be extra gentle with the little one. He deepened the kiss; pressing his tongue into the younger's mouth and running it around the deep cavern. Yugi leaned closer, wrapping his arms around the dark one's neck and moaning softly. Yami even guided the smaller teen's tongue to run over his vampire fangs caressingly, but not for very long. As dominating as Yami was, he took control again right away. They pulled apart a moment later. The taller was smiling as the younger flushed brightly and looked down.
Yami, suddenly having an idea, picked up Yugi, sat him on the couch, and vanished into another room. The light waited patently for a minute or two before the vampire returned with something in his hands. Having a problem with being too inquisitive, the hikari instantly stood and walked over to the taller, wondering what the yami could possibly have. The vampire then asked him a very simple and complex question.
"Do you have faith in me?" Yami asked, knowing the electric current they had just shared was no accident. He wondered if there was such a thing as love at first sight, for the things he was feeling were very strong, and unlike anything he's ever felt before. They both understood that they had only just met, but it didn't seem to matter when it felt as if they'd known each other for years.
"Y-yes." Yugi replied delicately, feeling the same.
Yami revealed a blindfold. Yugi just looked confused, wondering what the dark one could possible want to do with that. Secretly, he hoped it had something to do with dinner. The vampire grinned at the other's expression.
"I need you to wear this for me." He explained. When all he received was another confused gaze, he elaborated. "I…have a secret…please just agree to put this on and trust me. When you take it off again, we'll be at the restaurant."
"O-okay, Yami. I-I trust you." Yami then took the black cloth and wrapped around Yugi's eyes, tying it around the back. After all, he did owe him. If it wasn't for the other, he'd still by lying in the street, waiting for something or someone to finish him off.
Yami then lead the little one to the exit, down the stairs, and out the door. The night air was cold and refreshing. It was a good thing the vampire had allowed the little one to barrow his clothes or he'd be freezing by now. That was when the dark one guided the light onto his back in a piggyback like manner and took off. He jumped from the ground to a low branch in the nearby tree. The apartment building was only two stories high, so the tree was just as tall. Yami jumped from branch to branch until he was close enough to jump on the roof.
He leaped to the next building. He was sure that Yugi knew what was going on, but the whole point was to keep the boy from seeing anything he may not need to see, such as enemies that may be following them. The boy, having long since wrapped his arms around the dark one's neck, held on tighter, buried his head on the taller's shoulders, eyes shut tight.
"We're here, little one." Yami said once he landed on the ground in front of a secluded restaurant where vampires he knew hung out. "Yugi?" The teen only nuzzled closer, quivering. The vampire laughed, which caused Yugi to open his eyes under the blindfold. The dark one put the hikari on his feet and removed his blindfold.
"T-thank you, Yami."
"You're welcome, hikari."
"W-where are w-we?" Yugi questioned, leaning into Yami's chest slightly. The yami unexpectedly wrapped his arms around the other, surprising even himself. Yugi didn't seem to mind, though.
"We're at a restaurant I go to all the time. As you can tell by the sign, it's called Silver Moon. It's also a dance club and a bar." Yami replied, then added, "If you want, I can introduce you to a few of my, uh, friends."
"Okay!" Yugi answered cheerfully, momentarily forgetting his shyness.
The little one reached out and took hold of the dark one's hand, hoping the other didn't mind. He felt reassured when the strong hand curled around his hand protectively. When they entered, nearly every eye turned their way in the gently lit room. Many of those eyes were ominous at first, then filled with shock when they saw a small boy clinging to the most powerful vampire in existence. Yami walked in, ignoring the other vampires around. Most of them were staring at Yugi: a cute human boy who seemed to be with one of their most feared assassins and prince.
"Yami! You know there's a no mortal's allowed policy, what's with the kid?" A white-haired vampire yelled from the other side of the counter.
"Heh, you know I can do whatever I want, Bakura. There's no need to bother reminding me of the rules." Yami replied, then gestured at Yugi, who was clinging to Yami's arm in fear of some of the looks he was getting. "This is Yugi, baiw hikari."
"I see." Bakura answered, then turned his attention to Yugi, smiling, "How would you like to meet my hikari, Ryou?" Yugi didn't know what a hikari was, so he just nodded. Then the yami disappeared.
"Hello." Another white-haired boy appeared beside Bakura when he returned, "I'm Ryou, Bakura's hikari."
"I-I'm Yugi."
"Bakura, can you go get Malik and Marik?" Yami interrupted as he and Yugi followed the white-haired boys to the counter. Bakura went in back while Ryou stayed to take orders.
"Would you like to order today's special? It's quite nice."
"Not at the moment, Ryou. Yugi and I are going to sit at a table in a second here, just as soon as I speak with Malik and Marik."
"Alright then." The light vampire replied, then leaned across the counter and whispered into Yami's ear, "Has he been changed yet?" Yami shook his head when Ryou pulled away.
"What do you want, Yami?" Malik scoffed, until he noticed Yugi. "Oh, well hello little one. How's this vamp been treating you?"
"Uh, w-what's a vamp?" Yugi asked naively.
Malik turned and glared at Yami accusingly. Marik ran in from the back room, he looked like he'd just received some news.
"Is it true? Has our heir has finally found his…?" Malik clamped a hand over Marik's mouth quickly, preventing the last words from escaping.
"He doesn't know!" Marik whispered harshly, indicating a perplexed, wide-eyed little Yugi peering up at them in confusion.
"Uh, Yugi, why don't you and Ryou go get a table for us and we'll all eat together?" Yami suggested.
"B-but doesn't R-Ryou have to stay by the c-counter?" he asked shyly.
"Hey Josh, take over for Ryou!" Bakura shouted. "There, now he can go with you."
"O-okay." Yugi replied.
"Come on, Yugi, there's a great table in the back!" Ryou took Yugi's hand and walked away, finding a table in the back corner of the room. Vampires licked their lips as the violet-eyed teen walked past them. Ryou ignored them pointedly, having long since gotten used to the leers of men. One even had the nerve to grab the human's arm. Ryou grabbed that one's wrist and twisted it hard, saying he'd better think twice before laying a hand on Yami's hikari. The other let go, apologizing profusely. Yugi just stayed puzzled, knowing he probably would get lied to if he tried to ask what was going on.
"Malik, I know I should've told him, but we just met today." Yami tried to get the others to understand, "I-I found him in an alleyway."
"How'd you find him there?" Bakura asked.
"Well, I needed blood and he was bleeding. After I found him, though, for some reason I couldn't kill him." Yami then recounted everything that happened since he found the little teen lying in a bloody heap on the cold pavement in the middle of the night.
"I guess I can see why you didn't tell him." Marik said straightforwardly, "but it's rather urgent that you tell him soon. The full moon is coming, you need to go through the ceremony ASAP."
"Marik, I don't even know what the ceremony is." Yami replied coldheartedly, sick of hearing what he needed to do.
"I know, but it's not my job to tell you, so don't ask." Marik backed off and walked away.
"After all these years and still everyone insists on keeping me in the dark. Why?" Yami asked, turning to Bakura.
"Because we know how you get Mr. I'm-Going-To-Be-The-First-To-Find-My-Hikari. No one wants you to turn around and say that there's no way you'd put your hikari through it, but it is important that you know, so I'll tell you. What do you already know about it?" Bakura answered
"No one has ever told me how a vampire becomes one with their hikari, or how the Light becomes a vampire. My parents said that no vampire does it alone. That they have to have two vampire friends and their hikaris there when it happens, but that's all. Before my father died, he did say the process might be rather… humiliating, I just didn't think anything of it. Why wouldn't they tell me?"
"I don't know. Usually it's the vampire that turned you that says how it works, but you're one of the few natural born so I would assume it'd be the parents. Who knows? I will say that your father's right. It is embarrassing at some points and rather painful in others…"
"How so?"
"I'm getting to it!" Bakura stated, "...maybe we'd better go somewhere more private, ne?"
"Fine." With that, Yami and Bakura left the room secretively to go in the albino vampire's office in the back. Malik and Marik were in there making out, so they had to make them leave. When they left, Malik winked at Yami knowing he was about to be informed of the ritual that surrounds the ceremony.
"Okay Yami, this is how it works. First, you must select two of your dearest friends and their hikaris to be there with you."
"Who was there for you, if you don't mind my asking?"
"Of course I don't mind, Yami, we've known each other for how long now? Well anyway, it was Malik, Marik, Jou, and Seto." He replied, "You couldn't come since you didn't have a hikari, remember?"
"Oh yeah."
"Anyway, you must have your friends stand in a circle around you and your hikari while the two of you…go at it. They are supposed to say a spell that should not only keep the shadows at bay, because this takes place in the Shadow Realm, but help you two stay in unison. The point of that is that in order for a hikari to become a vampire, they must have three fluids from the body of an opposite vampire: Blood from your body, venom from your fangs, and, well, semen." Bakura informed bluntly, "You can do the parts in any order you wish. Just remember there are three."
"…How does this all play out?" Yami asked quietly in slight disbelief.
"The other part is that you will have to drink his blood, as much as he can handle. The more the better. It will be very painful for him, but it must be done. After that, you inject him with the venom from your fangs, if he lives; you go on to the next step. The final part is the blood. You must each cut your body somewhere: wrist, finger, foot, wherever. Then you press your open wounds together and share blood."
"How long does this ceremony take?"
"It depends. Although it has to take place in one night. That's the part I knew you would hate; your hikari will have little time to recover until it's all over." Bakura answered. "But think about it this way, we all did it and our hikaris are fine."
"That's true. However, Yugi is younger then they were at the time." Yami pointed out, "How much time do I have?"
"…About three weeks." Bakura replied, "I know that's not much time, but if you don't get this done before the full moon…"
"I know." Yami answered for him, "I'll try to get him to come around sooner then that. I'm sure he will though, not only are we destined to be together, we've already kissed."
"That's a good start. Ryou and I didn't kiss until the fifth date." Bakura informed. Yami laughed. "Oh shut up!"
"Bakura, I would like you, Ryou, Malik, and Marik to be there on the day of the ceremony. Is that alright?"
"Of course Yami, as much as we fight, we are friends you know." Bakura replied, surprisingly considerate. "Just don't tell anyone I was being nice, it goes against my image."
"No problem."
"Good, I didn't think it was going to be. Now why don't you go have dinner with your little hikari?"
"I think that's a great idea." Yami answered walking out the door with Bakura to go to their table, only to see Yugi and Ryou sitting with two other vampires. Malik and Marik were nowhere to be seen and the two hikaris looked as if they wanted the other two to just go away.
One was sitting beside Yugi, the other beside Ryou. Both the lights were on the inside of the booth and couldn't get out. The blonde, bulky one wrapped a powerfully built arm around the amethyst-eyed teen and moved in for a kiss. The one beside Ryou seemed to be trying to cop a feel. Bakura growled and Yami's eyes flashed with rage, they were there in a matter of seconds. "Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?"
"Who the hell're you four?" one asked in a drunken slur, hallucinating two Yamis and two Bakuras. "We was jus' havin' some fun. You wanna try, come back later." They were obviously drunk. Yugi looked up at Yami with a helpless expression.
"Shut up and get lost." Bakura snapped. They didn't move.
"Get away from them." Yami's voice became dangerously low. Ryou was attempting to shove the other massive gentleman away without much effect. The two dark vampires each then grabbed an intruder and threw them to the ground. Needless to say, they were surprised at the yamis' strength, so they ran off with their tails between their legs.
"Thanks for getting rid of those buggers, guys. They come in here every Friday night and stir up trouble." Ryou informed, hugging Bakura tightly. Yugi jumped up and gave his look-alike a hug before the taller leaned down and kissed him sweetly.
"No problem Ryou, I doubt they'll be coming back here anytime soon." Yami replied.
"T-thank you, Y-Yami." Yugi said softly, leaning into the other's chest. Yami smiled and wrapped his arms around the other comfortingly. "C-can we order now?"
"Of course." A waiter then came by the table and deposited four menus, since Bakura came and sat in the booth across from them next to Ryou.
"May I suggest the special again? It's large enough for you two to split." Ryou recommended as Bakura ordered just that for the two of them.
"That works for me, what do you think?" Yami asked.
"S-sure, Yami." Yugi answered flipping through the menu. "Whatever you like, I don't know what any of these dishes are anyway."
Yami mentally slapped himself. This was a diner for vampires, not humans. He would have to go ask the chief to make something Yugi would actually eat. Using the excuse of needing the bathroom, he went to the kitchen. Ryou and Bakura were snickering at the sight of Yami being so flustered. There was a first for everything after all. Yugi looked amused as well, for having already figured out that there were vampires all over the place.
The dark vampire walked into the kitchen like he owned the place, immediately demanding that one of the dishes be made with real spaghetti sauce, not blood like usual. Ryou and Bakura were going to crack up at the sight of him eating human food, but that was a risk he was willing to take. He returned to the table not a moment later, his confidant, haughty demeanor returning faithfully. Yugi giggled at this. Yami shot him a playful glare before the younger snuggled close to him, blushing. The vampire immediately threw an arm around the other's shoulders. Ryou and Bakura watched this scene smirking, knowing exactly what was going on.
Soon the waiter arrived with two dishes and their drinks. Unlike most restaurants, this one was rather fast since it was run by creatures of the night. The waiter placed the dishes in front of the correct person, knowing Yami was the one who went into the kitchen causing trouble. He walked away wearily, hoping to avoid a tongue lashing from his manager, who wouldn't be too happy to see a vampire eating regular food.
Yugi wondering about the discoloration of Ryou and Bakura's spaghetti and asked them about it, not wanting them to get sick. They looked at each other, hoping the other would come up with a good explanation. After stuttering lame excuses for a moment: 'The sauce was from the bottom of the pan'…'Hey, who was playing with the food coloring?'… moreover, 'Maybe someone cut their fingers…', Yami interrupted them, saying there was a certain way they liked their food, which made it look a bit different. It wasn't lying, but it wasn't totally the truth either. Yugi seemed to buy it well enough.
Soon, Yugi couldn't even finish what he had left. Yami decided that he would be done as well. Ryou and Bakura then followed the suit. Since they didn't really need to eat just then, it was more of a joke with them. Yugi smiled and asked if they would like to go for a walk. The two white-haired vampires declined politely, saying they had to stay and run the café. However, Yami was very interested in walking outside at night with the little hikari. As they walked out, hoping the taller wouldn't mind, Yugi reached out and took Yami's hand timidly.
Once outside, Yugi automatically latched onto Yami's arm. The vampire didn't mind at all. As they walked, the little hikari gradually moved closer to the yami, eventually the darker one couldn't help himself and put his arms around the smaller. Yami thought about it for a moment, then decided that it was time to tell Yugi exactly what he was.
"Yugi, t-there's something I've been meaning to tell you…I'm not sure how to say this, exactly, but I'm a v-vampire." He just came right out and said it, hoping the little one would understand why he didn't say anything right away.
"I-I know, Yami."
"You know? How?"
"Yami, first I could see that your refrigerator was full of blood, which you were trying to hide, then you bring me to a vampire restaurant where pretty much everything on the menu would give it away. I'm not stupid."
"…And you don't mind?"
"I-I'm still h-here, aren't I?" he replied, smiling. The crimson-eyed vampire grinned and leaned down, kissing the little hikari full between the lips. The taller deepened the kiss, exploring. "B-besides," Yugi said breathless. "the last time we did that, I felt your fangs." Yami laughed.
"That's right." He remembered, "You know, I think we've been here long enough. Want to go back to my place?" Yami asked.
"S-sure." Yugi answered, eager to learn more about the handsome vampire. "J-just as long as I can s-shower, I-I feel a little g-grungy from all today's r-running around."
"Of course. Let's go say goodbye to everyone, then we'll be out of here." Then they did just that. It was rather strange since both Ryou and Marik had practically attacked Yugi into a hug. When Bakura and Malik joined in the fun of hugging the small boy, Yami wasn't too happy and managed to playfully pout until the other yamis hugged him too. He just laughed after that.
It wasn't long before the pair left the restaurant and went to Yami's apartment. They arrived only a few minutes after leaving since the vampire could openly show the hikari how it was they had done it the first time. Yugi was delighted and found it pretty cool that Yami could even do stuff like that. Just as promised, the dark one conceded Yugi's wishes for a bath.
"Why don't we get you cleaned up?" Yami asked playfully. He stood in front of the other expectedly.
"W-what are you going to do?" Yugi asked shyly, wondering why Yami was looking at him like that.
"I'm going to bathe with you and wash you." Yami stated as if it was most obvious. "Is that alright?" Yami asked thinking the little one may not want him to. Yugi blushed and nodded shyly without thinking. For some reason he knew he didn't mind, even though he had just agreed to bathe with a somewhat stranger. Well, a stranger he seemed to be falling in love with. After the vampire turned the water on, he walked over to Yugi. "You first."
Yugi wasn't sure what he meant until Yami smirked and started stripping the boy. First, before Yugi could even blink, Yami brought the baggy, long-sleeved t-shirt up, but not completely over, Yugi's head, trapping his arms up. Leaving the little one to struggle with that, the vampire unbuttoned the small teen's pants and pulled them down. He even lifted him to remove them completely. Yugi gasped as the yami then slowly did the same with his boxers.
Having been powerless to remove the firmly attached shirt, the petite teen was stuck with his arms up by his head, unable to see and unable to get the shirt off while the vampire gazed at his now fully unclothed body. He reddened hotly. Unbeknownst to Yugi, Yami was struggling not to throw the boy down right then and screw the hell out of him. The vampire then removed his own clothes, hoping the little one wouldn't notice his arousal. After a moment, Yami finally helped him take the shirt totally off, noticing the boy's blush. The blush deepened at the sight of a naked Yami, trying to keep his eyes focused on the other's face.
"You're just too cute." Yami laughed, kissing the other's forehead abruptly. Yugi's flush grew redder, if that was possible. "Come on." Grabbing the smaller by the hand, the yami gently led him to the tub and under the steaming hot water, which was also filling up at the bottom. When they entered, he closed the shower door.
Yami immediately began to play with the other: teasing him with the sponge by using it on certain areas of his body, squirting shampoo in his hair and washing it for him, and other things like that. The little hikari ended up washing Yami too. Yugi was actually enjoying some of the games they developed, somewhat forgetting his nudity. More then once they ended up lip-locked with Yugi pressed up against the wall, Yami's hands moving gently.
When the tub filled with water, the yami glided down into it, turning the water off and insisting that Yugi do the same. There wasn't enough room for them to both lay in the water, so Yugi ended up sitting on the other's lap, burying his face in the taller's bare, wet chest. Instinctively, Yami wrapped his arms around the other, holding him close. The dark one then let the water start to run down the drain. Yugi giggled when the vampire started licking his neck lovingly.
"W-we're not g-going to get c-clean if you keep l-licking me." Yugi said timidly.
"So? This is more fun anyway, don't you think?" Yami answered, moving to the boy's chest as the water exposed that part of the little teen's body.
Then the vampire teen pulled Yugi up onto his lap for a better reach, moving even lower to the boy's stomach when the water became low enough. Growing a little frustrated by the position, the dark one turned them around so Yugi was against the back of the tub while Yami lay on top of him. Water soon pooled only at the very bottom of the tub.
The petite teen gripped the crimson-eyed other's hair gently as the yami placed his mouth between the smaller's legs. The hikari gasped in shock, then moaned quietly. No one had ever done that to him before. Yami ran his tongue around the other, immensely enjoying the reactions and position. He became rougher, holding Yugi's legs in place with his hands as he pressed onto the other.
Yugi gasped as Yami finally released him, since strong hands replaced the mouth immediately. The taller then moved back up with his tongue now that he had the little one's attention. When he arrived back at the boy's mouth, he captured him in a searing kiss, licking the other's lips, asking for entrance. Yugi opened his mouth submitting completely. Yami's tongue entered, probing the boy's mouth endlessly.
"Are you ready?" Yami asked, his voice more husky. Yugi didn't even bother to answer, instead just crawled over to the vampire and licked him shyly, knowing that was what the other wanted. After getting a positive response, the boy placed his head between the other's legs and somehow managed to do it cutely. Strong hands moved up and down the little one's bare, creamy skin gently as they moved in rhythm. When they were done, the hikari looked up at Yami.
"I-I think we're going to need another s-shower." He said. Yami laughed and agreed.
After taking yet another shower, this time keeping themselves in check, Yami wrapped a towel around himself, then Yugi and carried him into his bedroom, ignoring the other's protests of saying he was perfectly capable of walking. The vampire set him on the bed and got dressed in his usual black leather with buckles. Yugi waited, when Yami was finished, he looked around for something the hikari could wear. He ended up finding a black shirt that was skin tight on Yami, but loose on Yugi. At that point, Yami just handed the boy a pair of his own boxers and a pair of blue jeans that were also usually tight on him. Finally, a loose pair of black socks adorned the petite teen's feet.
"T-thank you, Yami." Yugi said gently, smiling. Yami returned the smile and carried the small teen bridal style to the living room, nuzzling the boy all the way. Yugi giggled. Then he thought of something.
"Do you have anywhere you're supposed to be?" Yami asked as they sat on the couch, one of their new favorite spots, "I mean, don't you have parents that are probably worried about you?" Yugi shook his head.
"No. I mean, I do have parents, but they're not worried about me. They never are. In fact, I'd say they're probably relieved that I didn't come home. Honestly, they really don't like me very much at all." He had meant it so Yami wouldn't worry about Yugi getting in trouble, but it came out sounding discontented. The violet-eyed boy wrapped his arms around himself lightly. Yami immediately moved the little one's arms and gathered Yugi up in his own.
"How did that happen?" Yami asked, wanting to know everything there was to know about his Yugi.
"W-well, my mother being pregnant with me was an accident, so I really shouldn't be here, at least that what they say. M-my father likes m-my b-body, but not me. H-he s-says I shouldn't have been b-born…" Yugi looked down and shivered, leaning into Yami's embrace thankfully. Yami didn't say anything for a moment, wondering if his little one had fallen asleep. He thought about what his hikari had just said and decided that it made sense that Yugi was so shy and timid. "W-what about you, Y-Yami?" Yugi asked suddenly. "What's your family like?"
"Me?" Yugi nodded. "Well, there's not much to tell. I grew up in a rather wealthy family. My parents were landowners during the 1500s and I was born in 1687. We had hundreds of acres of land, mostly forests. I do believe my younger brother owns it now. Anyway, my parents were considered the king and queen of vampires. Although, we don't officially have rulers, they're more like peacekeepers then anything." Yami stated. "That's why you heard some call me the Prince of Vampires. They are waiting for me to find a mate, which I need to do before the next full moon before my seventeenth birthday." Yugi giggled. "What's funny?"
"Just thinking how vampires come of age when they turn seventeen." Yugi replied cryptically. "Where are your parents now?"
"They're dead. Assassinated not too long ago, this is why it's so important that I get a mate. War has broken out amongst my people. There are some that were not loyal to my parents, so after they died, it was the perfect opportunity to start an uprising. Those that remained loyal fight to protect what was, and should be. After I go through the ceremony before the next full moon with my hikari, I will be able to restore order and relinquish the enemy."
"Wow." Yugi stated. "How will you know when you find your mate?" Yami smirked dryly and looked down at him.
"I believe I already have." He held the little one tighter.
"Y-you mean m-me?" Yugi asked, blushing hotly. Yami nodded. "B-but how do you know?"
"Little one, you are my hikari. I know this because of your innocent aura and demeanor. A vampire can sense when their significant other is near them. It's someone they are drawn to irresistibly." Yami answered. "Ryou and Bakura are mates, as are Malik and Marik. Besides, don't you feel it too?"
Yugi considered what Yami just proposed and then nodded; knowing the taller was right, he did feel it. Yami smiled down at him, nuzzling the little one's neck lovingly.
"Does that mean you'll be willing to become my lover?" Yami asked him gently, hoping.
Yugi thought about that for a moment. Would he have to become a vampire too? Probably, but that wasn't what concerned him. It was the fact that Yami may not want to spend his life with someone as weak as Yugi. In fact, what if the dark vampire was wrong about him being his hikari? The little teen looked up at the other and peered into his dark crimson eyes. All doubts vanished as he gazed into the crimson orbs before him. Yami clearly meant what he said. Yugi smiled softly.
"Yes." Yugi replied positively with a small smile. Those scarlet eyes could make him forget all doubts.
The taller's smile broadened, displaying long, white fangs, turning the smile to a grin. The amethyst-eyed boy giggled and pressed his lips against the taller's. Taken by surprise, Yami wrapped his strong arms around the small boy and pressed into him, dominating. His tongue slowly entered the little hikari's mouth, causing him to moan deeply in the other's opening. Two tongues playfully dueled in rhythm, lips opening eagerly. Two bodies unable to get close enough.
Yami slipped a wandering hand under the little one's shirt, lifting it up and over little Yugi's head. The smaller gasped when the taller's hot mouth traveled to his chest, licking and biting. Soon the hikari's pants and boxers were discarded as well, leaving him at the mercy of the crimson-eyed vampire.
The small, violet-eyed teen sat back on the taller's lap, giving an embarrassed look, blushing hotly as Yami's eyes drank him in. The spiky-haired yami grinned and had Yugi sit on the couch while he got undressed. Smirking at the still red-faced boy, the taller slowly removed his own shirt, pants, then and boxers, teasing the little one whose face was getting redder as he went. Then, much to Yugi's surprise, Yami sat on the couch and started kissing the hell out of him.
Eventually Yami had Yugi pressed into the sofa, lying on top of him, grinding roughly. The hikari was then shocked once again when the crimson-eyed boy inserted one finger into his entrance. He had no idea what the other was planning. Yami deepened the kiss, delving deeply into the younger's mouth. Another finger was added, the dark one pushing as much as he could. Yami broke the kiss gently and smiled, turning the little hikari over tenderly, slowly entering him.
Yugi gasped. He had not expected that. In fact, poor little Yugi had no idea how gay relationships were supposed to work. As Yami continued, he whispered reassurances into his hikari's ear amorously, having guessed why the smaller was acting in such a way. It was obvious from the start the boy was a virgin, but Yami didn't expect him to be that naïve about such things. The dark one suspected they would have plenty of time together for his light to learn everything he needed, and wanted, to know. Unable to resist, Yami thrusted deeply. Since it was the hikari's first time, he finished gently, Yami pulling out and holding Yugi in his arms tenderly. Yami knew he and Yugi were meant for each other, and there was nothing that could break a bond a strong as that.

Duke Devlin, a black-haired, green-eyed werewolf, walked alone down the streets of Domino City. His pack was close by, as they always were, scopeing out the city. Turning down an alley, he nearly gagged on the stench he smelled. It was the worst scent he'd ever caught: vampire. Telepathically, he notified his brothers and sisters of the find, considering that's what they were looking for. Vampires were vile creatures who deserved only death. Werewolves hunted them with great expertise. He grinned, hoping to run into one of the creatures on his nightly prowl. Of course, this meant that the hunt was on.
He paused, sniffing the air again, thinking he recognized the scent. It seemed distant, yet somehow, familiar. After thinking for a moment, drawing up names and places from his memory, a malicious smile slowly spread across his face. He remembered that scent. It was the heir of the vampire legacy, Yami Atemu. Now that he had it, Duke couldn't believe he hadn't noticed it sooner. The black-haired werewolf's fangs grew slowly as he hungered to follow the trail. He only hoped that the ambitious vamp hadn't found his hikari. If he did, that could mean trouble for their pack.
"Devlin." A voice came from the darkness. Duke didn't need to see the person to know it was Seto, he smelled him a mile away.
"Yeah, I know. This is vamp territory, but come here a take a whiff and tell me you're not interested." The cobalt-eyed wolf had been holding his breath, avoiding vampire stench. He complied, sniffing at the air and around the buildings.
"Yami." Was all he said. "We'd better tell Joey about this one."
"Yeah, he'll defiantly be involved." Duke replied, "Don't forget, where's there's Yami, there's Bakura and Malik."
"Ryou and Marik are never far from them, either." Seto smirked. "And if Yami's found his mate, we can kill all six of them."
"That's right." Duke sneered back. "Then this territory will be ours for the taking."
Seto and Duke then transformed into wolves: Duke was black and Seto was a silvery blue. They traveled together to meet up with the others: Joey, Tristan, Mai, and Odeon in the park. Since it was dark, the park itself was closed so they didn't worry about unwanted visitors. As they ran, the others gradually joined them, falling into rank. Seto was alpha male; Joey was next, followed by Duke. Mai, Tristan, and Odeon were about the same rank. Their fur coats shined against the moonlight. Mai's coat was a dark magenta, almost black. Tristan was russet. Odeon was black, and Joey's coat was thick amber. Once they reached the park, they transformed back into humans.
"We've found the strongest vampire pack left." Duke informed, "And we have reason to believe that Yami has found his mate."
"Then we've got to take them down hard and fast before the next full moon!" Mai declared angrily, knowing what the reaction was going to be.
"Or," Seto interrupted, just thinking of a new idea. "We could search for this little hikari and force Yami's hand."
"Seto, I don't think the Prince of Vampires is going to care about some measly mortal, even his mate." Joey countered. "but since he can't beat us without the hikari to make him stronger, then why don't we just kill it?"
"Good idea." Tristan commented. "We find the mate, make sure it's the right hikari, and kill it so the vampires can't regain their power over all others."
"Then it's decided." Seto declared. "We kill the hikari."

Yugi awoke in Yami's arms, they were both completely nude and the small boy found that he was sitting on the taller's lap, facing him, as Yami's hand rested on his bare ass. The vampire's other arm was wrapped tightly around Yugi, pressing them together. He looked up at the vampire, who was fully awake. The small hikari blushed and looked down, apologizing repeatedly for falling asleep. The taller simply laughed.
"Don't apologize, I love watching you sleep." He answered, smiling a toothy, vampire's grin. Yugi grew red.
"D-did you sleep w-well?" Yugi asked.
"Of course. How could I not?" The hikari blushed again. "I've got an idea, why don't we go shopping? That way we can pick up breakfast."
"S-sure, but it's d-daytime. Don't you have to s-stay inside? O-or sleep?"
"Vampires never sleep, little one, and the sun doesn't effect me. Maybe it would have a few hundred years ago, but not now. We vampires have become genetically more advanced over the years."
"Oh, t-that makes sense." Yugi hesitated a moment before asking his next question. "Umm…Y-Yami? H-how does the age thing work?"
"Well, I think we vampires age one year for every 20 of yours." Yami answered, smiling. "After all, I'm going to turn 17 soon, so I've been alive for about 340 years. The average vampire lives to be about 200 hundred in vampire years, which is 4000 for you humans. There is a way for vampires to never age, but most of us don't want to live forever."
