—Yami/Yugi action… (insert more yaoi fangirl squealing here) lol…unfortunately, this is only a “half lemon.” Yami and Yugi don't actually have sex. I guess it's somewhere between fluffy goodness and yaoi goodness. Recap: Yami and Yugi are friends now, although Yami is a vampire and Yugi is a human -and- the Hunters still have Yami on their “Most Wanted” list…
Chapter 5 - Loss
Two months passed quickly, but it seemed like so much longer to Yami. Being with Yugi made him feel things he thought he could never feel. Yugi stuck to him like glue and followed him like a shadow. Anyone else would be annoyed by this, but Yami had been so lonely for over three hundred years that to have somebody other than a Hunter was like a miracle.
The feelings between the vampire and the human increased slowly until both Yami and Yugi thought of each other as not just friends or even brothers, but something closer. Possibly love? Yugi wasn't sure if he could describe it as such, but Yami certainly would have. He'd come to love Yugi so much that he started throwing all his cautious ways out the window. He started walking around in broad daylight dressed in his normal vampire clothes.
Yugi started getting worried about his dearest companion when he returned home from the library one evening to see Yami standing on the roof of his house directly in a patch of moonlight. Yugi did find Yami find attractive as the vampire stood there dressed all in black with a single red rose in his pale hand. His skin reflected the light perfectly and that was what scared Yugi the most. What if Officer Bartholomew or another Hunter saw him?!
There was another problem entirely. Several times when Yugi was studying late and Yami was simply hanging out in his bedroom, they would both hear Hunters patrolling around the house or “accidentally” eavesdrop on one of Mrs. Mutou's phone conversations with her gossipy neighbor friends.
“You don't say!” she would exclaim. “We've been having gang troubles too.”
A pause.
“Yes, they wear long coats and wide-brim hats. I personally think they look like rejects from The Matrix movie. Do they steal anything, Rosie?”
Another pause.
“They don't steal from us either, but they are constantly walking around the streets near our house.”
A longer pause.
“I know the police told us that they were investigating it, but I'm starting to wonder about that.”
On this evening, when Yugi came home from the library, he immediately went in through the back door to find a note from his mother. She and Mr. Mutou (grandpa) had gone out for a little father-daughter dinner. Yugi sighed and closed the door. He ran up the stairs to his room and opened the window to let Yami in.
The vampire swung down into the room with ease. He held out the rose and Yugi took it delicately. It was very beautiful and smelt very sweet. “Um…thanks Yami. But you have to be careful or the Hunters will find you.”
Yugi closed the window and turned to almost bump into Yami. The vampire gripped his shoulders and massaged them gently. The boy felt his muscles relaxing as Yami continued his massaging.
“Aibou…” the vampire purred softly, “…it pleases me that you worry about me.”
“Of course…” Yugi replied in a drowsy tone. “Y-You're the greatest thing in the world to me.” He felt so sleepy and so comfortable. For some reason, Yami's soothing massaging and purring voice made Yugi go dizzy with peacefulness. He leaned back against the window as one of Yami's hands moved down to massage his lower back. He could feel Yami's harden erection against his groin, but didn't seem to mind it although every impulse in his body was screaming to fight back.
Yami didn't realize he was hypnotizing the boy. He had completely forgotten he was even a vampire or that the moonlight was splashing right through the window and any passer-by would get a clear view of his face. Yami's instincts had completely taken over. There was only one sip of the vampire alcohol left and Yami had gone far too long without blood. And right here in front of him was a blood bank just waiting to be robbed.
He licked at Yugi's skin and jaw and shook with how sweet it tasted. He kissed at Yugi's cheek and ran his hands along Yugi's belt. The boy tilted his head back in unconscious response. He let out a little gasp when Yami brought their lips together, but Yugi did nothing to stop the vampire from swirling his tongue around his moist cavern.
Yami released the boy's lips and reached down to grab at Yugi's crotch. The boy jumped a little and stared at Yami with black eyes and moaned softly. The vampire loved this reaction and unzipped Yugi's leather pants to pull his penis out. The boy shivered as Yami pumped his member and ran his fingers delicately over his balls. The vampire pressed himself against Yugi and rubbed his covered crotch against Yugi's exposed one.
The boy was panting and groaning uncontrollably. Yami kissed his way from Yugi's ear to his neck. He opened his mouth wide to be ready to bite him when Yugi finally snapped out of his trance.
He screamed and fell away from Yami before the vampire could bite him. Yugi stared at his supposed friend with eyes as big as dinner plates. The vampire had a frighteningly lustful look in his eyes. He was panting and smacking his lips like he had just returned from walking through a desert.
“Y-Yami…what are you doing?” Yugi asked. “What's wrong?” The vampire didn't reply and only looked at Yugi hungrily.
Yugi suddenly realized that his penis was out of his pants. He was about to fix that when Yami grabbed him and humped Yugi's unclothed member. It felt like a slap in the face, but Yugi couldn't help the pleasured moan that tickled up and out of his mouth. Yami leaned down to try and bite him again, but Yugi smacked him in the face. Yami hissed angrily and Yugi held up the rose before the vampire tried again.
It was the rose that snapped Yami out of his desire. The vampire stood back. His face was back to normal and it now displayed a look of surprise and guilt. Yugi turned around to fix his pants. When he turned back to face Yami, the vampire was opening the window and about to jump out.
“Yami…” Yugi said softly.
“I'm sorry, Aibou. I've let my cravings get the better of me.” Yami looked over his shoulder. He got down from the window sill and walked over to where the boy stood. What shattered Yami's heart to infinite pieces was when he reached out to stroke the boy's cheek. Yugi flinched and back away from him. Oh no, he thought. What have I done? I betrayed his trust.
The vampire only stared at the cowering boy. “I don't deserve to be your friend, Aibou. I deserve to wander the earth alone.” He turned and went out the window. Yami returned to his own neighborhood as quickly as possible to hunt for more stray animals.

Neither Yugi nor Yami spoke to each other for the next three days. The bullies that had left Yugi alone while Yami was around started coming back and beat Yugi twice as often. The boy started to wish his heart would forgive Yami.
One day, after getting his daily ass kicking, Yugi limped home with a black eye, a bruised lip and his left leg with a swollen purple mark on the calf. He felt like crying from the physical and emotional pain he was suffering from.
“Yugi?” said a concerned voice.
Yugi looked up expecting—and hoping—to see Yami. But it was Officer Bartholomew. “Who did this? Was it those same muggers from before? Where's that boyfriend of yours?”
“We…” Yugi choked on his words. “…broke up.”
“Yugi Atem Mutou!” shouted his mother's voice. Yugi was surprised to see his mother walking with Officer Bartholomew. Mrs. Mutou knelt to check Yugi's bruises, but he pulled away. “Oh Yugi….my poor baby!”
“Leave me alone.” Yugi snapped harshly. Tears streamed from his good eye. “I just want to be alone right now.” He pulled free of his mother's arms. “What are you doing with this jerk anyways?”
“Jerk? Well, that's a fine thank you for being so nice to you lately.” Officer Bartholomew snorted sarcastically.
“Yugi…I…well, Jerald and I met a week ago. Well, he…asked me out tonight.”
Yugi fell so sick he wanted to throw up right there. “Are you going to get married?”
Mrs. Mutou fiddled with the Cross necklace she was wearing. The one that Yugi retrieved from Yami's apartment. “Well, it's too early for that, Yugi. Jerald and I are just dating right now. But you know your father is still watching over you from Heaven, right?”
“Dad was a jackass.” Yugi growled. He glared at Officer Bartholomew. “And so are you!” Yugi limped away as fast as he could. Mrs. Mutou tried to go after him, but Officer Bartholomew stopped her.
Yugi continued to limp along, unconscious of the fact that he was heading for Yami's apartment building. He collapsed outside of a small deli just three blocks from the building. Yugi didn't care who saw him as he curled into the fetal position and sobbed his eye out.
—Aww! Yugi's lost without Yami. And Yami's lonely again. Yugi's mom is dating Officer Bartholomew?! -dies- Now Yugi's really torn apart. Obviously he hates the policeman. What if his mom marries the leader of the Hunters?! Officer Bartholomew will turn Yugi into a Hunter! Not to mention Yugi's name will change from Yugi Mutou or Yugi Bartholomew. -dies again- God, that sounds horrible…yuck!
