The people who are reading this do!!!! Now, I own nothing because I only have $25.00 in the bank. Also, I am in no way related to Kazuki Takahasi, so I will not be inheriting millions… life is so not fair…

“Marie Definia!”
`Shit… I'm two minutes late for a shift, and she's all over me. I have got to bug Jace about this…' “Yes, Momma,” Marie called out to her employer.
“Get yer ass in here!” Marie quickly straightened her hat and smoothed out the wrinkles in her outfit, then stepped into the large office Momma occupied. “You're late again,” Momma didn't even look up from the account book as she reprimanded the younger girl.
“Sorry Momma, but my teachers made me stay after so they could explain crap to me. They think I have a second grade `education cuz I'm from the states…” Marie fiddled with her hat so the fear she felt didn't enter her voice.
“You know that excuses are worth nothing here, so don't you try makin' `em.” Momma informed Marie in that `No nonsense, I mean serious business tone' that Marie knew not to mess with. You dropped the subject, whatever it was, and left well enough alone. Unless you wanted to lose your job.
“All right, I'll do two extra dances because I love you and because I was late.”
“That's what I wanted to hear. Now, go do what you're paid for.”
“Okay,” Marie walked out of Momma's office and into the small backstage area where several girls were prepping themselves for their next turn on stage. Marie worked in a seedy little strip club called Rainbow's End. It was all a cover, paid for by the council elders, to hide the identities of the hunters in the city. Luckily, she was also paid for what she did. Hey, a girl had to have some cash!

Seto Kaiba walked into the club just before Marie began her last extra dance. He took a seat at a table in the back, hoping to see her. He then remembered, to his disgust, that this was a strip club. The music started, and he averted his eyes, looking at the bar to see if she was the bartender. The CEO was shocked to see her on stage, slowly seducing all the men in the audience with her body. His head turned of its own accord, and he watched her begin the number.

Marie snapped her head up in time to the beat. Her body twisted sinuously, and her blood red lips mouthed the words of the song. Slowly, by inches, she lost herself in the soul of the music. As soon as it was over, and her tips collected, she ran backstage and changed into her street clothes.
“Marie!” called a voice that she knew all too well.
“What do you need, Celia. I have to go,” Marie called with her hand still on the back exit. She avoided going out into the bar after her day was over.
“There's some guy out front who says he wants to talk with you. Says he'll pay you for your trouble… Thought you might want to take a look, and get him away from my bar.” Celia shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot.
“All right. I'll go deal with him.” Marie took a deep breath, then headed out into the bar. It smelled of sweat, sex, and booze. How lovely. She had hoped to avoid this at all costs…
She saw him sitting at the bar, slowly sipping water from a sparkling clean glass. As she walked up, he held up a check for $5000, U.S currency. Marie knew that money would support her and her love of shoes for a couple of months, but she wouldn't take it unless she knew exactly what she had to do for it.
“I want ten minutes of your time,” said the man. It was as if he had read her mind. Then, he placed the money in her hand. “You get the other half if you actually show up.”
Marie let out a low whistle, “Ten K for ten minutes… That is a lot of cash. Where will we be meeting, and who are you?
“My home, and I'm the owner of Kaiba Corp.” He smirked at how she staggered.
“I'll be there tomorrow. After school sound good?” Marie quickly covered her slip of control with an astonishing coolness. It was like she had turned into a block of ice.
“Perfect. I expect you to be on time,” with that, he walked out of the building, leaving Marie to her thoughts.
“Oh, I'll be on time all right. But what do you want from little old me, CEO with a heart of ice…” Marie then departed, following the stars to her home. Hopefully those same stars would watch over her throughout her journey down the path of life, and in her dreams…
