Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Book 1: Fateful Reverie ❯ Part 1: Dreams Awakening ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

This is a story that I originally started writing for an English assignment, but was a big hit with my friends, so I decided to write it properly. I will just be posting the first part for now, and if it's popular, then I will continue to update. If not, I will be removing it. So if you would like me to continue writing it, please review.

Fateful Reverie

Part 1: Dreams Awakening

I have these dreams, sometimes. Often I only remember fragments, but at times the whole thing is played like a movie, from start to finish. My dreams are thought by others to be an escape from reality, but they are, in fact, my whole reality. They are my being, my everything. They are my life.

Confused? Thought you'd be. So let me start from the very beginning.

My name is Myata Akila, and I used to be a normal, fifteen year old girl. Until they started.

The first dream that really started it off was fragmented. It was substantial… but not. Basically, it was like a series of pictures. A kind of slide show that flashed from shot to shot. And every single one of them held familiarities, yet so many differences it was alarming.

The handsome young man was dressed in wealthy but plain Egyptian clothing. He was obviously very prominent. The hallway he was heading down was all gilded gold engraved with arcane symbols and intricate pictures.

A young woman with long, gold tinted curly hair lay sprawled across a cushioned gold throne. She was draped in lengths of white gauze and adorned with gold jewelry. A metre away was an identical throne to the one she lounged in, with the exception of being empty. In the lady's right hand was a long, slim gold rod with a globe at the top, decorated with a strange, styled eye.

A hand maiden knelt beside the river, a jug dipped in the crystal clear water. Partially covered burnished hair fell to just below her shoulders, and her long pale white robe was tucked neatly underneath her.

The room was dark with the exception of one small candle on the table. Sitting close to the light, a dark haired woman studied a piece of parchment imprinted with several strange symbols. Her young face showed great concentration, short dark hair falling in front of her eyes.

The young man from the first fragment now graced the second throne. The lady was now seated gracefully, her posture perfect and her veils arranged. In her right hand she held the golden rod, and her other hand was held by the young man.

They were the rulers.

The couple was locked in a tight embrace, shadows masking their forms. The young lady was dressed in the white shift of a hand maiden, shoulder length dirty blond hair pulled back from her face. The man she was with was unusual, with white hair that fell to the middle of his back, despite his youthful stature. He, unlike anyone else in the palace, was dressed in dark, unobtrusive clothing of grays and blacks. Purple eyes were sharp yet soft as he savored the secret, tender moment with his love.

See what I mean? Weird, huh. And the curious thing was that even after I had been up and about, my mind on other matters, I could still recall every single tiny detail of the dream. Every shadow, every strand of light. It was as if it was not a dream, but a very dear memory…

A/N- There we go. So if you like it, please review, and if you don't… well that's ok. Till next time!

Oh, and by the way, my friend and I currently have a bet going, (see profile for full info) as to who is more popular, Tyson or Kai, both from beyblade. If you have an opinion, please e-mail me and let me know. Thanks!
