Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Chance Meetings ❯ From Motion to Believe - YMxYY ( Chapter 5 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
1. Motion
It wasn't until after Yami screamed and held back another tremble that Marik considered pacing the whirl of impassioned motion.
2. Cool
Marik's touch was too cool to be loving and too warm to be violent, but Yami knew he craved the caresses regardless of their intention.
3. Young
Sometimes they joked about how young Marik was by comparison, but in the end Yami was always shown that age certainly didn't correlate with innocence.
4. Last
Yami didn't realize how vital the last card could really be until he set aside his Duel Monsters and took up Marik's game of strip poker.
5. Wrong
Even when it hurt enough to make him see stars, Yami knew it was anything but wrong to love someone as calculatingly mad and beautifully dangerous as Marik.
6. Gentle
Marik was a lot of things, but even after searching with painstaking dedication, Yami never did find a shred of anything gentle.
7. One
It wasn't enough to be rivals and lovers, no, but when Yami and Marik fell into each other at last, becoming one got them just a little closer to perfection.
8. Thousand
Yami wasn't heartbroken because he could easily wait a thousand years or more for a change in Marik's sinister ways, even if such a thing would never come to be.
9. King
Having been a young King had made Yami a lot of things, wise, kind, and only slightly pompous, but Marik didn't care for any of those qualities.
10. Learn
Marik had a lot to learn about modern society, though not nearly as much as Yami, especially when it came to sexual endeavors.
11. Blur
Yami and Marik knew they were in trouble when their lives began to blur into a single instant of dark euphoria.
12. Wait
3,000 years had passed without a word or glint of hope, but when they crossed paths again and enveloped each other in trembling embraces, they knew it had been worth the wait.
13. Change
One can't change themselves when born of hatred and pain, Marik knew that more than anyone, but Yami never stopped hoping.
14. Command
It didn't matter how loud or threatening Marik's command was, Yami knew it was ultimately his choice.
15. Hold
Sometimes Marik's jealously possessive hold on Yami was stifling, but they both knew it could never really become too tight.
16. Need
It wasn't something Marik expressed often, but whenever a craving, a need, would overtake his body, Yami was always more than willing to accommodate.
17. Vision
The worst thing about falling in love was that after a while Yami's vision became jaded with nothing but cruel reminders that Marik would never curb his insanity enough to truly love back.
18. Attention
Yami never would have thought that being showered with the attention of a madman could be so romantically thrilling, but then again, Marik was filled endlessly with surprises.
19. Soul
Together they were still only a stitched attempt of a true soul, but Yami was the only one who knew how to fill in the gapping holes of Marik's existence without driving them both mad.
20. Picture
In the eyes of their friends, Yami and Marik painted a picture of dying laughter and unshed tears.
21. Fool
Yami was a fool for falling in love, but the read idiocy came from falling in love with Marik.
22. Mad
Regardless of the perspective, Yami always knew Marik was nutty, but he secretly adored the blurred border between rage and lunacy that crafted a whole new category only the latter was capable of embodying.
23. Child
Although he was the age of a child, Marik was always ready to show Yami it wasn't how many years one lived that determined true age, but how one lived each year.
24. Now
Patience was a virtue, but when it came to hungry kisses and lustful tumbles among the sheets, the only thing that mattered to either of them was the knowledge that yelling out “Now” was equal to immediate physical gratification from the other.
25. Shadow
It was natural for them to have fallen in love; no one else could have ever provided the empty cravings and infinite hardships a shadow was bound to seek out.
26. Goodbye
His violet eyes weren't accustomed to the sting of tears, so when Marik finally allowed himself to bid his lover's grave goodbye, the pain was sharp and foreign enough to distract him from the heartache.
27. Hide
Marik didn't care for cowardice, if anything he loathed it, but when it came to exposing his deepest desires to the very person he harbored those feelings for, the Egyptian was forced to hide his emotions and become intolerable to himself.
28. Fortune
Even when he had been Pharaoh, Yami never knew the true meaning of fortune until the moment his lips met Marik's.
29. Safe
The closest thing to feeling safe was when Marik would fall asleep and Yami had the chance to take a breath and experience a full moment of sane tranquility.
30. Ghost
There was something terribly wrong with loving a dead man, but to be fair, Yami did make a gorgeous ghost.
31. Book
Lovers were supposed to be able to read one another like a book, but even after years of intimate whispers and sexual encounters, Yami could decipher no more from Marik than what he was periodically allowed.
32. Eye
Everyone knew Marik and Yami were perfect for each other the second they began comparing whose Sennen Eye could glow brightest.
33. Never
The hardest part about being in a relationship with a lunatic was never knowing when Marik's death threats were real.
34. Sing
“Sing me a song of blood wrought tears,” so Yami sang, and Marik laughed, then they both hummed the ending.
35. Sudden
It wasn't surprising because the kiss was unexpected, but because the sudden crash of emotions pummeling his senses ranged violently from wrath to lust and was almost too much to bear… until Yami started to kiss back.
36. Stop
Sometimes Yami would clench his teeth and dig slender fingers deep into his lover's scripture riddled back, but he never wanted the sensations to stop, even when Marik drove in hard enough to break him.
37. Time
All the time in the world was theirs, and every second was flooded with livid glares and passionate kisses, it made death much more worthwhile than either could have imagined.
38. Wash
When he did manage to coax the Egyptian into a shared bath the Pharaoh took special care to gently wash over the scars on Marik's back, each time kissing away just a little more of the hurt that lingered.
39. Torn
When he walked in on Marik and the Thief still tangled in sex scented sheets, Yami's heart wasn't broken, it was torn to slivers.
40. History
Their relationship wasn't awe-inspiring, beautiful, or a tale of star-crossed lovers, it was a work of history that crafted millennia of hate and pain into something stable enough to kiss.
41. Power
Yami was bred from ancient myths and flowing gold, but his real power sprung from the belief upheld by the Egyptian people, so it was of no surprise that Marik took every opportunity to mockingly wish the Pharaoh away.
42. Bother
“If I'm such a fucking burden, why don't you just banish me to the shadows aga-” Yami didn't let the other darkness finish, because the only way to prove to Marik that he wasn't a bother was to shut him up and show him every reason he kept the Egyptian around, and taking his breath away was the first.
43. God
His violet eyes had seen a lot in his short existence, mostly the horrors hate and blind madness could manifest, but when Marik first fully looked upon the Pharaoh he bottled up the urge to sacrifice in Yami's name to glorify such a stunning embodiment of God.
44. Wall
There was more than just a wall between them emotionally, there were three millennia and a vacant stretch where understanding simply could not exist, but that didn't stop them from trying.
45. Naked
There were very few things that made Marik feel so vulnerable and naked, like Yami's scarlet eyes gazing upon him with that masterfully crafted look of predatory thirst, royal fingertips skimming across his darkened skin, or falling victim to openmouthed kisses that left aching trails wherever they alighted.
46. Drive
Most wouldn't have guessed it was possible to drive Marik further into the pits of lunacy, but when Yami would drag his boyfriend out to watch another musical he succeeded in striking another nail into the coffin of Marik's sanity.
47. Harm
For all the inadvertent pain he had caused the Egyptian, Yami only found it fair that he should submit himself to physical harm as well, Marik nearly weeping when he saw the scars the Pharaoh had placed upon his own flesh as retribution.
48. Precious
To cherish something was to love beyond able words; Marik had chosen a photograph of their first kiss as his most precious memory, keeping it close even after bitter arguments and vicious laughter.
49. Hunger
That gleam in Yami's eyes only ever meant one thing, and sometimes Marik wondered just how far he could deny the hunger before the Pharaoh would snap and swallow him whole.
50. Believe
Just when Yami was actually beginning to believe their relationship was normal, Marik showed him otherwise by inducting them into the Mile High Club.
