OOO

At least four out of six pages into her research paper, Anzu stopped typing and stretched her back against Hikaru's leather chair, yawning as she did so. She stared with a bored expression on her face at the typed document; her mind wandering to the man named 'Yami', whom she had seen a fabulous picture of not too long ago.

A small smile tugged at her lips as the picture appeared in her mind again. He was handsome with rare, captivating crimson-colored eyes, and a bizarre haircut that stretched up into spikes composed of three colors: gold, black and violet-red. And he was only nineteen?? Whoa...

Anzu's mind suddenly snapped back into reality. Her research paper; she still needed to complete it. Frowning for a bit, she pushed herself away from the computer and walked over to Hikaru's bedroom. Seeing the door slightly open, she walked inside and found the silver-haired vampire sleeping.

His face was hidden against a black satin pillow that muffled his light snoring sounds; his long hair that was usually held up in a high ponytail was strewn across the mattress like scattered strands of white silk.

The brunette let out a sigh, running a hand through her chestnut-colored locks. 'Oh brother... Asleep again... I don't want to wake him up. I know that vampires don't like to be woken up during the day, but...'

Anzu went around to the side of the bed Hikaru was mostly occupying. She shook him for a few moments but he only stirred away from her. Snarling, she shook him harder and called, "Hey, Hikaru! I'm sorry that I had to wake you up during this time of day, but--"

"... Ugh... What do you want now...?" He asked groggily, now turning his head to face her. She leaned away from him as he slowly sat up, yawned, baring his inch-long teeth, and stretched the kinks out of his muscles. "What is it, Anzu?" he asked, raking a hand through his silver locks and staring at Anzu with sleepy, indigo black eyes.

She smiled shyly at him for a moment. "Sorry to wake you up, Hikaru. But I need you to answer a few questions for me... Well, for my research paper, you know?" she added as he gave her a rather skeptic stare.

Hikaru folded his arms in thought. "Just a question first," she nodded. "What isyour research paper about?"

"Oh, well... In Literature, we're now studying mythology and legends. And we're required to do a research paper on any mythical creature that we're interested in. So, what I chose to research was..." Anzu trailed off, bowing her head with that same small, shy smile she had on not too long ago.

He perked a thin eyebrow up. "What did you choose?"

She finally looked up to him. "I need more information about vampires." The brunette admitted.

He stared at her for a few seconds before throwing himself into the softness of his pillows, making Anzu wonder if he was trying to hide a laugh, or just wanted to ignore what she said.

She pouted and started shaking him. "Oh come on, Hikaru! You said that if I needed anything, you'd help me! And I need help with this research paper! Please..?" she shook him a bit more.

The sapphire-eyed woman heard a muffled sigh and heard him say, "You just had to pick vampires, didn't you?" He finally sat up straight again with a pout on his face; but his dark indigo eyes glinted with amusement.

Anzu shrugged. "Hey, I don't see what the big deal is. I wanted to pick something different, and nobody else in the class seemed to show an interest in vampires. And besides, I'm the only person in my class that knowsa real live vampire. I'll have the best paper in the class, because all my facts will be true."

"Live should be replaced with dead," Hikaru muttered to himself; crossing his arms over his chest.

"What was that?"

He shook his head. "Nothing. So, what is it that you wanted to ask me about vampires?" He paused suddenly paused as a thought crossed him. "Wait... Exactly how much of the paper have you done already?"

"Four out of six. Just two more pages!" she stated proudly.

He snorted, rolling his eyes. "Alright. Anyways... What did you want to know?"

OOO

Atemu lay across his black satin mattress, staring at the stark white ceiling with a forlorn expression on his handsome face. His mind was focused intently on the innocent brunette he had chatted with not too long ago.

He licked his lips, picturing the woman with him while he weaved a trap for her. He could easily seduce her to his whims and play with her, relishing the fact that she didn't know what she was dealing with.

A little angel, caught within a demon's trap...

But maybe he could let the young woman live a little longer than he had originally planned. Her body had enticed him; sparked something within him, unlike the other women he had before seduced. Not to mention it would be fun to have her writhing beneath him in bed.

He let out a dark laugh at the thought before he slipped over the edge of his bed and walked to the phone that sat on the stand next to his closet. `Right...There's going to be aslight change of plans,' he thought with a smirk. Now, he needed to call a friend...

OOO

"Is that all you wanted to know?" Hikaru asked after about half an hour of Anzu asking him questions about how vampires live. Well... from his point of view and experience while she wrote it all down.

She nodded, happy that she had gotten a sufficient amount of information to fill the remaining two pages she needed to fill. Heck, maybe she could even write a few more and get extra credit!

"Yup! Thanks Hikaru, I couldn't have done it without you!"

Hikaru rolled his eyes and snorted as Anzu stood up from the side of his bed and began walking out of his room.

"Wait, Anzu!" he called. She stopped at the door before turning to him. His face had an expression that was calm, yet alert. Anzu knew that look. It meant that something was nagging at Hikaru, and that she had to be aware of it.

"Yes...?"

"Tell me when you're done with your business. When you're leaving, I'll escort you to your home myself." he said.

Anzu eyed him suspiciously. "But Hikaru... You can't go out in the daylight! Vampires can't--"

"I know, Anzu," he cut in sharply. "But I can get by. I just want you to be safe, okay? So tell me when you're ready to go."

A few moments of silence passed before Anzu nodded and walked out. Hikaru let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair in a frustrated manner. He didn't like it how suddenly he got a - how could he put it? - Forebodingfeeling. Something wasn't right, and he had a feeling that it had something to do with Anzu. Had she done something wrong? Or...was something after her?

`I hope it's just my imagination playing tricks on me...' he thought quietly to himself.

Then the phone on the nightstand beside him started to ring. He stared at it for a few seconds, as if it was going to explode when he answered it. His hand glided over to it, picked it up, and placed it beside his ear. "Hello, Mikagami residence? Hikaru speaking."

He heard a familiar chuckle on the other end and of the line, and a chunk of ice suddenly froze over his heart. He knewthat chuckle and the voice that spoke to him afterwards. He would never forget it.

Atemu,” He spat, voice laced wit venom.

"Well, Hikaru...Is that any way to greet an old friend?”

Hikaru could just imagine the sickly-sweet smile plastered on the other's face. Just the thought of him made the charcoal-eyed vampire sick. What was Atemu calling him for? They hadn't spoken for ages. And he could hardly call the other vampire a friend.

It's been sometime, hasn't it? Seems like years.” There was a small sigh from the other line. “Anyways, I didn't call for friendly chit-chat. I needto ask you a few things..."

The uneasy feeling in the back of Hikaru's mind seemed to grow a hundred times stronger after he heard Atemu utter those words.
