Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Child Madness ❯ Chapter One ( Chapter 1 )
A/N: Welcome to the Prologue of Child Madness! I hope you enjoy this fanfic! ^_^ Sorry about my two Ocs! If there's a child, there has to be a mother…or so my sister says. Anywho, only the child Oc will play a major role here. Maybe, if there is one, Kiari will be a major in the sequel.
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh! But I do own this fanfic, this plot, Kiari, and Mina. As well as a few other Ocs mentioned. (Such as Myuki.)
A young woman with thick black hair and emerald eyes sat in the kitchen of her friend's home. The lady wore a navy bandana around the top of her head, matching her dark blue jeans and raven black tank top. She tapped her chin thoughtfully, looking the violet-eyed twenty-one-year-old up and down. She had to be careful with who would take care a Mina, her only child.
Mina has short blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. To Kiari, she was a younger, female embodiment of her boyfriend. The little girl needed to be watched constantly though, as she put things in her mouth and caused a lot of trouble. The woman was afraid it was all her friend's fault; that the man in front of her was the influence that made her daughter act this way. Sometimes it seemed true, but then, sometimes it seemed the to be the most far-off story in New York City.
"Yugi, are you positive you can handle her?"
The man chuckled, brushing a blonde bang from his face. "Hai, I am certain, Kiari! There isn't anything to worry about. I mean, the worst thing that could happen is she turns out to be influenced by me; exactly the way I was influenced by Yami."
The gothic female frowned. "I've heard enough about this childhood imaginary friend of yours Yugi! Stop acting like he ever existed!"
Yugi scowled, but said nothing. None of his new friends believed his Darkness was real. They had all laughed at him, telling him to stop joking around and get serious. Kiari was no exception. The youthful-looking Mutou didn't want to waste his breath. Trying to convince his comrade here to believe an Ancient Pharaoh was his guardian and was trapped in a golden puzzle he got when he was younger than ten; let alone telling her Yami was the other half of his soul was in all means impossible.
"Yugi, c'mon! You can't just get all mad at me because your `friend' doesn't exist! And you'd better not be teaching my daughter any of it, either."
"Fine. You win."
"Then say he isn't real.
"Iie."
"YUGI!!!"
"What? I refuse to lie. Just because you haven't met Yami, doesn't mean he doesn't exist! I'll prove it too!"
The woman sighed, exasperated. "No, keep your proof to yourself. Just watch Mina. I need to go on that trip. I'd better not come back in a few months and find out you made her eat candy and drink syrup all the time. She has to know all those sweets you eat aren't good for her or you."
Yugi smirked. "Or you for that matter."
Kiari simply glared at him. "Don't make me have my boyfriend come here and kick your ass."
The violet-eyed man's smirk became more profound. "I'd love to see him try."
Kiari looked worried for a moment, but the expression quickly disappeared. Ever since they'd left Japan, Yugi had been acting…different. He'd talk about being a `Professional Duelist' and about `Yami' and a bunch of other people he made up. For instance, at their first trip to an American restaurant as a group, Yugi watched Miyuki, a friend in their little gang, eat. He smiled, remarking she could compete with a friend named `Jonouchi'. Of course, he had to be made up too. Kiari didn't believe her Punk Rocker friend knew any others in Japan. He always was by himself when the two of them met, proving he just made all of his `memories' up.
"Alright, I gave you a list of things Mina will need and how to reach me. I guess I'll talk to you later."
Yugi nodded, giving his comrade a small smile before she walked out the door, driving away in her new Mustang Convertible. (A/N: Where did I hear that from? O.O)
He glanced at the blonde child, wincing as she pushed his glass off the table, the sound of its shatter making him shudder. He sighed inaudibly and made to pick up the pieces of glass. He sent the six-year-old a mock-glare.
"You sure are a trouble maker, aren't you?"
The little girl giggled and smiled, hopping down from her stool at the table and running around Yugi's house. The violet-eyed male twitched.
`Great…just wonderful. I wish I could just call the old gang and ask them for help. How in all Seven Hells am I going to take care of Mina for so long? Damn, I doubt she'd last a week with me, let alone several months!'
Yugi shivered this time as he heard the young girl running around, fragile objects screaming to him that they were about to crash.
"Saa…I really am going to need help…"
A/N: How was that for the Prologue? ^_^ I hoped you all liked it! Please Review!
