Chapter 8

Yugi picked up his backpack looking at his room, understanding what he would be doing today would have impact later on in history. He had decided to tell his parents and Grandfather of what he was about to go do for Yami as well as the other clones around the world. They agreed that if he felt that was something he had to do, than they would support it. His Father looked down at him carefully. "Yugi, whether you come out of this alive or dead, just remember that in these last moments... I look at you not just as my son, but as an equal man.", Yugi's Dad told him, "I'm proud of you.",

Yugi then met up with Malik and the others of the group, Yami following him all the way to his birthplace. To the cloning factory.

So the peaceful protest began, soon, the clones hidden in small cages behind the fence began to fight off their handlers that stood watch over them. Then came the shot, it fired from one guard's gun, aimed for Yami, only Yugi took it instead... And the whole world stopped, Yugi felt Yami's arms, his tears dripping upon his face and three words were uttered. "I love you.", Yugi whispered before all went black.

"Today, officials in support of the latest bill to give clones the same rights as humans push ever harder in the dawning case involving a young boy's great bravery today.", the reporter said, "He was shot while quietly protesting the enslavement of clones all over the world and currently lies in comatose under critical condition.",

A pause issued from her for a couple seconds. "The bill has been passed and will be put into power right as we speak...

"YOU CAN'T TAKE HIM FROM ME!!!!!! HE'S MY PROPERTY, YOU HEAR?! MINE!!!!!", Bakura yelled as the men that were taking Ryou away from him.

"They aren't taking me, Bakura, I'm leaving.", Ryou clearly said, turning and never looking back as Bakura cried for him to come back.

About a week later, Yugi woke to find Yami, Seto, Malik and Merrik all in his room with him. He soon learned of the bill and smiled happily at Yami. "Now you're free, Yami.", Yugi said, faintly.

"Yami wants to stay with Yugi, Yami love Yugi too much to leave.", Yami replied smiling.

"What about you, Seto?", Yugi asked, "Anything you're going to do?",

"I'm starting my own business, Joey gave me enough to start off and he even taught me how to run it, says it's nice to see some friendly competition.", Seto replied with a shrug, "They say it's the clone's choice to stay with his master, I choose not to."

So, with the clones free, they all lived, how should I say? Happily ever after. (I've got it worked into my flow lately for those whom have read my other stories, just go with it.)

An AU partially. While trying to save Seto from his virtual reality game exploit, Joey Wheeler hasn't been at all well in health. After passing out at school doctors diagnose him with an unknown disease, giving him a rather short amount of time left to live. The true cause is a downloaded manifestation of a computer virus into Joey's central nervous system. Will Seto, Yugi and Yami be able to save him in time, or is it already too late?
