Cold Night Air

Chapter 7

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh!

Penguins4Sale: Ok, if any of you were confused about the last chapter, let me explain it to you. Bakura is half vampire, and half werewolf, ok? Now because he is both instead of just one of those species, he has two other personalities.

Trast is Bakura's vampire side, while Rayne is his werewolf side. Bakura is the hybrid that ties those two together. But he can't always control when they take over his body, and can't remember what each one of them do when they take over his body either.

Ok? Has that answered some questions? Good. Onward!

Bakura and Serenity had talked all night, and now found themselves passed out on the couch.

Serenity's head rested on the right arm of the couch, with her legs stretched out towards Bakura. Bakura on the other hand was rest on the backside of the couch, and his legs criss-crossed. There was no doubt about it they looked adorable! But all sweet things must come to an end.

There was click as the front door had been unlocked, and in stepped Joey. Before walking all the way through the door, he managed to trip over Serenity's 3 inch heels, and was sent to the ground with a large 'thud!'

The noise had woken Serenity immediately, and after she saw that it was, quickly woke Bakura.

"My brother's home! Quick hide!" She whispered. Joey was still on the ground, complaining about how high his sister's shoes were, and possibly getting her flip-flops instead.

After hearing Serenity's voice, Bakura jumped to his feet. "But where?!" He asked.

"Uh, hide in my room!"

"But..."

"Just go!"

With that, Bakura ran to her room, while Serenity lay back down, pretending to be asleep.

Once Joey finally got in the house, he looked at his sister. She looked so peaceful to him, and he thought about how it was like being her age.

"Oh, brother. You're home." Serenity got up, and faked a huge yawn. Stretching, she walked up to him and gave a hug. "So, how was work?" She asked.

"It was, uh ok." Joey answered, a little uncomfortable about talking to his sister about his job. He never told her what he did, and tried to make sure she never knew.

"That's good. Well, I'm off to bed. See ya later on." With a slight wave, walked smoothly to her room.

Bakura stood there in the dead center of Serenity's room, afraid to touch anything. It was one thing being in her with her, but without her, made him nervous. 'Where do I hide? What if he finds me? What would he do? What if Trast or Rayne takes over?' Questions raced through his mind, as he just stood there.

Finally, Serenity opened the door. "You didn't even turn on the light?" She asked. Bakura just blushed as he stumbled over to her.

They looked at each other for a moment, but Serenity then brushed past him. "Wanna listen to some music?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Sure, what do you have?" He asked. He looked around, only this time with the light on.

Her room had plain white walls, but her four-post bed took up most of the room anyways. To the right of it, there was small side table, with a small lamp for reading. To the left of the bed, was a walk-in closet. A small one too. Bakura also noticed that most of the furniture seemed to be pink outlined, or was a pastel color. The room seemed to calm him, but also lift him up.

"Let's see. I have Counting Crows, Enya, Alanis Morrisette, LeAnn Rimes...Lets go with Enya. She opened the case, and placed the cd in the player. As it started to play, she skipped to a song she personally loved.

She sat down on her bed, and offered a seat to Bakura. Hesitantly, he accepted, and sat down. "So, Bakura. Tell me more about you." She said, trying to make good conversation.

"I don't think we should talk about me anymore." He said softly, almost as if he was ashamed to be him.

"What's wrong?" Serenity asked. She moved closer to him, and looked into his eyes. One was red, and the other was green again. She figured it was safe.

"I just don't think we should." he answered.

"Well, ok. I guess I understand." She frowned. 'I wonder why he doesn't talk about what's bothering him. Maybe he still doesn't trust me...'

"It's not that Serenity. I trust you, it just...I don't think I can trust myself."
