Done cleaning the kitchen, Yuugi plopped down in the sofa, wiggling around until he found a comfortable position. Taking the remote in his hand, Yuugi paid no heed to the shows as he flipped through the channels at a pace far too quick to see what was on. Glancing, for about the millionth time that day, at the clock, Yuugi sighed and turned the TV off. `What's taking him so long?' Yuugi thought miserably. It had been several hours since Yami had left for Kaiba's, but he had never called or sent any other word as to how he was or when he would coming home. The worst part was Yami had sealed his side of the link so tightly, it practically felt as though there was no link.

Yuugi rolled his eyes, "Great, I'm turning into a mom with all the worrying I'm doing." Yuugi let his gaze slip back to the clock, "Or maybe something really did happen, what if he's lost? What if he's hurt?!" Panic began to overwhelm Yuugi as he buried his face in his hands, "What if he's-" The phone rang loudly, making Yuugi jump and fall off the sofa. "Maybe it's him!" Scrambling to his feet, Yuugi all but tackled the phone, "Hello?"

"Hello, Yuugi, how are you?" Yuugi could feel the smile as his porcelain friend's softly British accented voice spoke to him.

"Oh, hey, Ryou…" Yuugi didn't mean to sound disappointed, but he didn't know he had upset his friend until-

"WHO IN THE NAME OF RA DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!" Bakura screamed into Yuugi's ear, causing him to drop the phone in fright.

"B-Bakura?" Yuugi whimpered. A blood thirsty, psychotic yami was frightening enough as it is, but an angry, blood thirsty, psychotic Bakura, just on the phone mind you, was enough to make Yuugi check his pants once he hung up.

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY TO RYOU? HE'S PRACTICALLY IN TEARS!" Now it had been quite a doozy when the gang found out Bakura and Ryou were together. After all the hell he had put Ryou through, as in treating him like a puppet, trying to kill his friends, slicing up his arms, etc., everyone had expected Bakura to kill Ryou when they had split into their own bodies. Of course, the tomb robber had never seen Ryou in the flesh, so when he opened his eyes and saw the beautiful boy before him, Bakura had fallen quite in love. He emphasized his point by stating something about anyone who even mispronounced `Ryou' or didn't blink quickly enough after looking at *his* Ryou would hang from choice appendages as their blood was drained from multiple wounds, heart/eyes/tongue (or whatever Bakura felt like that day) would be cut off/out *very* slowly, all while some shadow magic kept the offender very much alive to feel everything.

Obviously, everyone feared doing anything against Ryou, not that anyone in their group would even consider hurting the docile, white haired boy, but caution was a must when dealing with the manic Bakura. "Kura please…" the soft spoken Ryou had regained control of the phone and was busy calming his yami, as only he could. "I'm sorry Yuugi, he really shouldn't have yelled at-"

"IT'S YUUGI?!" Although Bakura was no longer on the phone, Yuugi still had to pull away from the receiver when the dark began screaming again, Yuugi could only wonder what Ryou's neighbors thought. "WHY IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE THAT BASTARD OF A PHAROAH AS A YAMI, I'D HAVE YOU HANGING FROM THE CEILING RIGHT NOW!!!"

"Bakuuuuuraaaa!!!" Ryou didn't quite `yell' at his other half as he did cry out his name in annoyance, either way it worked and Bakura quieted down and sauntered out of the room, grumbling loudly enough for Yuugi to hear him.

"Yami isn't here." Yuugi mumbled, a bit more loudly than he had intended.

"I'm sorry, Yuugi, I didn't catch what you said." Slight concern wavered on Ryou's voice; worried that Bakura's antics had truly frightened his friend.

"Oh…um I just said that Yami isn't here." Yuugi second thought saying that a bit too late, what if Bakura wanted to go through with his threat?

"HE'S NOT THERE!! HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!" Bakura apparently had picked up another phone, as he was once again a part of the conversation. "Ryou," he purred dangerously "I think I'll go pay little Yuugi a visit."

Yuugi squeaked in worry. "Bakura…get…off…the…phone…*now*…" Ryou growled uncharacteristically as he was on the verge of a migraine. A few seconds of silence told Yuugi that they were speaking mentally, it made Yuugi feel all the more alone as he could not speak with his own yami. There was an odd whimper slash growl then a click as one of the party's hung up. "There…" Ryou sighed, "I'm sorry, Yuugi-kun, I'm afraid I finally let him have coffee today. Unfortunately he had more than just a cup, or a pot for that matter."

Yuugi giggled. "It's alright, Ryou. It's just nice to talk to someone, Yami left to go see one of Kaiba's newest inventions, and he hasn't called."

"Oh…" Surprise rang clear in Ryou's quiet voice.

"Yeah, but the worst part is that Yami shut his side of the link so tightly, I can't even tell where he is, much less talk to him." There was a pang of sadness as Yuugi said this. `We just realized that we both felt the same way about each other, and now I can't even tell if he's ok.'

"Yuugi? Why don't you come over here for the night?" Ryou had caught on to his friend's distress and wanted nothing more than to help as best he could.

"Really?" Yuugi knew he needn't had asked, but manners well embedded in his brain told him he had to make sure.

"Yeah! You can have my room and I'll sleep with Bakura…" Yuugi could tell Ryou was blushing like mad after stating this. "Um…I mean in his room…of course."

"Of course…" Yuugi tried to stifle his laugh, but didn't succeed all too well. "Jeez, Ryou, what did you think I thought you meant?"

"I, um, uh…" rivaling an apple, Ryou fought to regain control of his facial color. "On second thought, I'll sleep on the couch…Bakura's room *is* a bit messy."

"Oh no, Ryou! I can't kick you out of your own bed!"

"Nonsense, I'll be fine. Now, Bakura will pick you up on his motorcycle, I'll send him off so he can get you in half an hour."

"…"

"Yuugi?"

"Um, could you come get me instead?" Yuugi didn't want to take any chances with the caffeine high Bakura.

"Oh…oh!" Ryou smiled knowing why his little friend preferred him to Bakura. "Sure, Yuugi, I'll leave now so I can help get your stuff together, ok?" Effortlessly, Ryou slipped on his denim jacket while still cradling the phone to one ear.

"Thanks, Ryou, go through the side door. Bye." Yuugi felt happy he wouldn't be alone tonight and even more relieved that he wouldn't have to deal with Bakura on his own.

"No problem, Yuugi, see you in a few minutes." Ryou placed the phone on the counter, hand sweeping up his keys in the same movement.

As silently as he could, Ryou slipped out the door, he did not want Bakura to know he was going out at night. `He'll want to come so he can `protect' me.' Ryou knew better, what Bakura meant by `protect' was really just an excuse for him to mutilate some hapless passerby. `I don't feel like washing blood out of the clothes tonight, much less arriving at Yuugi's door with a blood bathed Bakura. Besides,' he continued to think `After everything I went through with Bakura, I doubt being attacked by someone on the street would be anything more than…um…dull?' Ryou mused with the thought of telling an attacker he was doing a horrible job at scaring him. Soon enough he found himself at Yuugi's door, knocking lightly and being told from a Yuugi, half hanging out the second floor window, to walk right in.

After helping Yuugi pack some clothes, more than just a days worth incase Yami chose to stay at Kaiba's for awhile Ryou had said, the two headed back to Ryou's place. A good twenty feet from his front door, Ryou was tackled to the ground by a frantic Bakura, who was wearing only a pair of black, silk boxers.

"Ryou! I nearly had a heart attack when I got out of the shower and couldn't find you!" Bakura proceeded to check every square inch of Ryou as he straddled him. "You should have told me, I would have come, or at least you could have left a note!"

"Baaakuuuraaaa! I'm fine! Oof…" Bakura ignored his light's complaints as he turned him onto his stomach to inspect his back.

Satisfied, after having all but strip-searched Ryou, he helped the very red hikari stand up after glaring at Yuugi. "You're lucky nothing happened, Mutou!" he hissed.

Yuugi's already wide, amethyst eyes grew even rounder, "I'd never let anything happen to Ryou, Bakura, I swear." Smirking slightly at the fear he struck into Yami's hikari, Bakura swung Ryou, who smiled softly at Yuugi in apology and comfort, over his right shoulder and led the way into the house.

Yuugi realized how cold he had been once the warmth of the house enveloped him, putting his stuff down in the hall; he rubbed his arms to warm himself even more. "You know, Kura," Ryou started after being plopped onto the couch in a graceful throw "You could have at least put something more on, especially since you decided to violate me in public rather than in our home."

"Sorry," Bakura grinned snapping the elastic band of the silk boxers "But *your* clothes were the only ones in reach at the time."

A soft hue of pink speckled Ryou's ivory face as he wrinkled his nose at Bakura. Still, Ryou couldn't help but smile just slightly when Bakura kissed him with gentleness beyond Yuugi's comprehension. Bakura had changed after all. `I suppose love does that to people, even when they're embodiments of darkness.'

"Are you just going to stand there and gawk or are you going to blink sometime soon?" Bakura's harsh voice snapped Yuugi out of his momentary flash back of earlier that day, when Yami had all but ridden him on the shop's counter.

"I'm sorry." Yuugi's ears burned as he gathered his stuff. "Um, where should I go?"

Bakura smiled cruelly, "You can have my room, Yuugi."

Ryou's face twisted into distaste as he spoke. "Honestly, Kura, you have no regard for his sanity if you really expect him to go in there." Smiling then winking at Yuugi, he stood up. "Come on, Yuugi, I'll show you my room."

Bakura growled low in his throat. "Just keep the door open."

Yuugi, who still hadn't recovered from earlier, was about to turn purple if the shade of red on is cheeks deepened even in the slightest. `Is Bakura insinuating that Ryou and I would-'

"Jealous?" Ryou, who in Yuugi's eyes was not helping the situation, smiled impishly from atop the stairs.

Bakura grunted in response and stalked past Yuugi on his way up the stairs, wrapping his arms round Ryou's waist, "Just remember you're mine." He purred seductively, tracing the rim of Ryou's ear with his snaking tongue.

Ryou looked lovingly at his slightly taller counterpart and pecked him on the cheek. "Always." He giggled slipping out of Bakura's arms to usher Yuugi into his room. Happy, for the moment at least, Bakura strode into his demonically decorated room across the hall.

`Wow' Yuugi thought. `They were total opposites before they got together, just imagine what could happen between Yami and me?'' Yuugi happily set his bag down on the fluffy bed and noticed everything in the room was soft and white, `Just like Ryou's hair.'

"Thank you, Ryou." Yuugi smiled up at his friend as he hugged him, it was sad not to have Yami around, but at least he knew he had friends he could turn to for comfort.

"Not a problem, Yuugi." Ryou left the lamp on as he slipped out the door, closing it gently behind him. "Sleep well."
