A special thank you to `Fluff' for your comment and support :)

Authors Note:All you Bakura/Anzu fans will be happy to hear the next 3 chapters will be focusing mainly on them. For now Jou's out of the picture, and will stay like that until I get some reviews that say otherwise.I'm assuming the lemon will come into play roughly about the 6th chapter. Keep in mind that I'm 'assuming' here, but I promise itto be well worth the wait. At the same time, I don't want this to be a completely hentia focused story, as I would like it if there was some plot squeezed in too :) Now without further adieu, I give you:

Chapter 2: Renovated heart.

'Blah' -Bakura's conscious talking.

"Blah" -Bakura talking.

Now this was an interesting situation Bakura managed to get himself into; or rather ran into.

"One moment I'm taking a night's walk, the next I'm bloodyattacked by some crazed woman."

Seeing the young girl come out from nowhere, then suddenly gracefully asleep within the grasp of an ancient Egyptian thief's hands puzzled him.

Mainly because of his surprise he hadn't minded at all. In-fact, he rather enjoyed it.

Most likely knocked out by either her fall to the ground or the impact of which she darted at him, Anzu was now far from conscious. For how long, Bakura didn't know, but one thing was for certain; no matter how much of an arrogant bastard everyone perceived him to be, not even Bakura was heartless enough to leave this young girl to whatever fate the hours of darkness had in store. And he could only imagine it wouldn't be pretty.

As carefully as he could, for reasons he didn't know, Bakura adjusted the girl, no, woman's body to meet with his now golden gleaming eyes. Slowly, he allowed himself to scan her features, in hopes of catching a glimpse of who this mystifying female could be.

And he did.

It wasn't until this exact moment Bakura became aware of who he held so delicately in his arms.

"The Pharaoh'swoman!" Bakura spat, hatred and maybe even some jealousy sticking to his tongue.

Though this new information was shocking and also upsetting, Bakura's mind was already made up. The woman 'would' be coming with him. What other choice did she have after all?

Amid no second thoughts, he lifted the weightless Anzu Mazki into his shoulders and made way to his house. Not much of a house he admitted, but livable nonetheless.

Thankfully his 'humble abode'wasn't too far from where the two already were. It was within walking distance, about 10 minuets away considering the speed Bakura was swiftly pacing at.

As he continued on, the moon gave off enough light to expose the face of the woman he had rescued.

The woman Bakura had held no personal gain from saving.

For the first time in decades, he had helped someone other than himself, and he didn't know whether to feel sick or satisfied.

Instead of thinking any further on the topic, Bakura stared back to Anzu's face which he discovered had lightly marked scratches on each cheeks side. His frown deepened as a sudden alarm of worry overtook him. He leaned in for a closer look and noticed her tangled hair, flushed cheeks and fresh tears caught in-between her eyelashes. His worry turned to concern as he tightened his grip around Anzu and persisted on quickening his speed.

Bakura rolled his eyes, annoyed with his newly fond 'feelings.'

"Just whythe hellam I doing this?" He whined, aimlessly swearing under his breath.

'It's obvious isn't it? You like the girl Bakura' His couscous began, with a mouthful of ridicule.

"Feh, what'sto like?"

'You tell me; after all, you'rethe one with a crush.'

"I don't get crushes"

'Well it appears you have this time around. I would know after all; remember we're the same person.'

Bakura then thought long and hard about what was just said. Could it be possible he was, (hypothetically speaking of course) falling for Anzu? He growled and shook his head furiously, his pale bleached hair shaking from side to side.

"I don'tget crush's" he repeated again, only more harshly this time.

Moments later, the slightly tired Bakura and the already tired Anzu reached their intention. In comparison to the damp, dark streets of Domino Park, Bakura's old and abandoned astrology tower seemed like paradise. Then again anything would be, compared to where the two first ran into one-another earlier.

Bakura reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a set of keys. Quickly scanning through them he then selected the correct one, and still holding tight to Anzu, made way up the staircase and into his kitchen.

The room was pitch dark but being as it was Bakura's home, he found himself to the light-switch in no time. The lamp flickered on, then off, and stayed off. This caused Bakura to short-circuit ending in him kicking the outlet, followed by some mumbled swearing.

Once things were cleaned up and organized, Bakura soothingly placed Anzu onto the couch while cloths, duel monster cards, and magazines were immediately thrown to the floor. He followed suit with wrapping a blanket over her, watching as her hands gracefully clutched around it.

'She really is quite stunning, isn't she?' His conscience began again. 'Reminds me of someone back in Egypt, Tea'was it?'

Bakura glared in irritation.
His own thoughts were making him sick.

"Don't even thinkto bring her up." Bakura growled to himself.

He turned his head away from Anzu's sleeping figure, stuffed his hands down into his pockets and slowly retired to his room.

'My, my, seems like little Bakura-kun still has a soft-spot for his old girlfrie-'

"That's fucking enoughalready!" Bakura interrupted, not even bothering to change out of his cloths before falling into bed and trying to forget all about what was just revealed.

Wrapping himself underneath his sheets and covering his head with pillows, Bakura promptly fell fast asleep; forgetting all about the young woman passed out on his couch one room over from his.

Bringing Anzu back to his home was one thing, but there was still the matter of explanation.

Tomorrow would sure be one hell of a day.
