__ Chapter One: The Beginning of the Night __
"Hey Yug, catch!," Jonouchi called, tossing a black and gold can in the general direction of Yugi's head. "Jeez, Jonouchi... What are you, drunk???," Yugi gasped, ducking to the floor as the can narrowly missed striking the center of his forehead. "Heh... Sorry pal," Jonouchi chuckled as Yugi snatched up the can, "Um... I wouldn't open 'dat, let me get you another."
A few minutes later, drinks secured, Jonouchi sat beside Yugi, leaning against the wall and closing his eyes. He sighed and asked, " 'Dis is pretty cool, huh? I feel like such a rebel." "I guess," Yugi replied, grimacing as he took a swallow of the bitter fluid, wondering why people thought drinking beer was so great. "Don't you ever worry about turning out like your dad?"
Jonouchi's father was a violent drunk who couldn't hold a job and who took out all his anger on his son. Jonouchi held two part-time jobs while attending high school in order to make ends meet. He had learned how to kickbox and hide bruises at a young ages, but only his closest friends knew this, and only Yugi would bring it up.
"Nah, Yug, if I worried about every little thing, I'd never have any fun," Jonouchi said with a cocky grin. "Speaking 'a fun, know any drinking games 'dat we could play?"
"I don't know, the only ones I can remember are Seven Minutes in Heaven and Truth or Dare," Yugi responded, slightly slurring his words. He was more worried about how strange he felt than thinking up games. It had been about an hour since they had raided Jonouchi's father's stash of beer, and they were both on their third one.
"Wait, what about Marry, Fuck, or Kill? Your choices are Tea, Mai, and Rebecca."
"Jonouchi, I'd never kill anyone! Why would you ask me something like that???," Yugi asked, shocked.
"It's just a game, answer already!," Jonouchi yelled, rolling his eyes.
"I really don't want to play that, okay? And don't roll your eyes at me!," Yugi yelled back.
Jonouchi sighed and said "So... Truth or Dare it is..."
