<"This is your captain speaking, we will be landing in Domino Airport in five minutes. Please buckle your seatbelts and have a good day,"> said the monotone voice over the PA system. Mazaki Anzu looked up from her book, smiling in relief. It had been almost half a year since she'd left Domino for New York with her parents and they were letting her go back to see her friends for the summer vacation. The brunette girl was sorry she had to cut back on her letters to them as dance class had demanded so much from her. Before she left, she sent an e-mail to Otogi Ryouji, asking the raven-haired teen to pick her up. She wanted to surprise the rest. Anzu looked out the window, smiling when she noticed Domino Bridge. The six months felt more like six years. She hoped that the hikaris were alright.

Something in her gut told her she was right to worry.

The plane landed and once everything was settled down she stepped out into the bright sunshine, stretching before continuing down the ramp. She never noticed the dark clouds hanging menacingly over the sky towards the east of the city, looking ready to unleash a thunderstorm unto the populace at any given notice. Anzu looked around once she got inside the airport building, searching for raven hair and piercing green eyes. She found them almost instantly and Otogi waved her over, smiling slightly. The two were silent as they waited for her luggage before Anzu couldn't bear it anymore.

"How are the others?"

Otogi lowered his eyes, sighing somewhat depressed as he crossed his arms that cocky way he always did. The dice master wasn't such a bad guy once you got to know him and over the months that had passed since his move to Domino he'd softened up to the gang. "Since you left, things have gotten......strange, to say the least. Don't be too surprised when you see Ryou-kun and Yuugi-kun."

"Why?"

Their conversation was cut short as a TV screen in the area was interrupted with a news story. Otogi watched it dispassively as the footage of bloody corpses was shown, Anzu only covering her mouth in horror, blue eyes shimmering with silent tears. Her heart went out to the ones that were killed even if they had been a group of thugs. "That's why." Otogi had lowered his voice a little as she got her luggage off the compartment and they headed out to his car. "It was Yuugi who killed those thugs, they either picked a fight with him or wanted his body for their own purposes. Stupid idiots."

"But......but how could Yuugi do such a thing? He......he's so child-like, innocent even." Anzu shook her head as they put her stuff in the trunk and got in. She didn't want to believe it. Otogi sighed, starting the car.

"Most of us don't hang like we used to before Battle City," he explained as they approached the freeway. "We knew something was wrong with them after they fused with their yamis but when we approached them about it they were so different. Yuugi's taller and stronger than when you last saw him, he hardly mentions your name anymore and his eyes are cold, icy pits of darkness. Since Mutou-san's death he's been pushing us away. Ryou's been staying away from us but there's a crazy look in his eyes that won't disappear, no matter how much you want them to. It's like he's watching your every move, waiting for a chance to strike. When you walk by his place, ignore the screams and don't look back, whatever you do. As for Malik......none of us have seen him since Seto's tournament but the way Isis keeps silent is unnerving."

He looked at the brunette girl once they reached a stoplight, meeting her horrified blue eyes. "I wanted to warn you before you left America, Anzu, but you'd already gone by then. Domino isn't the safest place to be anymore so you'd best leave while you still can."

Anzu shook her head, placing her hands in her lap and staring at her sneakers. "No, Otogi. I won't run away and leave you, Katsuya-kun, Tristan-kun, Mai-chan, Shizuka-chan, Isis-san, Seto-kun and Mokuba-kun to face this alone. I'm stronger than most girls who'd turn away from this and hide until it blows over. But I'm guessing we don't have any choice but to try and bring them back to the light." She looked out the window, swallowing the lump in her throat. She wouldn't admit it but she was scared, scared for herself and her friends.

But most importantly, scared for Yuugi. She had known him ever since elementary school and had always watched his back, wanting to protect him more than anything. He was like a little brother to her and she thought she'd had a crush on his dark side for a while before the fusion. She noticed how depressed he'd been when he thought they were only his friends because of the dark spirit and he'd almost fallen into a pit of darkness.

The darkness had swallowed not only him but the other hikaris as well, consuming them all within its cold grasp.

Ryou smirked darkly as the slut's screams died away and with them the girl herself. He licked his lips, pulling himself out of her body and away, revealing the dagger in his hand stained in the crimson liquid he desired. It was simple really, to relieve himself of the strain he felt when mercilessly beating his father. He understood why Bakura had done to him what he did and why he had started to enjoy it before the fusion. Ryou pulled up his pants as the slut's body slumped to the ground, lifeless. It was always like this, always having to kill the ones who took his pleasure. He exited the alleyway, sheathing the blade once more beneath his boots and starting to head back home. Or what was at least his home for now. The three of them were planning something, something that would bring the world to realize the truth and all of humanity to their feet. It was a glorious thought and the other "hikaris" had agreed.

A hand touched his shoulder and he spun, taking a blade hidden deep within the recesses of his trenchcoat. A dark look came into his chocolate ices when he noticed it was Tristan and that the blade had cut seemingly deep into the brunette boy's lower arm. Tristan winced in pain as he watched the other pre-adult replace the blade back and roll up the sleeve of the summer jacket, cold depths looking at the slow-flowing blood before looking back to him. Ryou leaned forward at the given permission in the other's eyes, delicately beginning to clean the wound much like a cat. The other fought down the desire to moan at the ministrations but blinked slowly as Ryou lifted his head from the cut, licking his lips free of the excess blood and dragging the taller boy down for a tainted kiss. Tristan caught hold of his hormones and pulled away just before their lips met. Thankfully, there was practically nobody on the streets at this hour so they were alone.

"Sorry about that," the silver-haired boy purred slightly, running a finger over the cut and making it disappear with a soft glow, emotions not true to his words. "Reflexes."

"It's alright." Tristan shook his head and pulled away from Ryou, noticing the disappointed look in the chocolate orbs. "I was just wondering if you'd seen Katsuya anywhere, Ryou. I split off from him a few hours ago and there's a feeling in my gut that says t-r-o-u-b-l-e."

"No, I haven't seen him, Tristan," Ryou purred, satisfied from the pure blood. He and the other two "hikaris" weren't even human anymore, rather creatures of the dark and shadows that fed off the flesh, blood and fear of a mortal and he could smell the fear the brunette held deep inside. "But would you stay with me, hm? I'm so terribly......lonely," he hissed, voice husky with suggestion.

'Saynosaynosayno!' "Yes!" 'Shit!'

Ryou smirked darkly, stepping forward and running a hand through the brunette hair, licking his lips before the hand travelled down and took the collar of the school jacket. He'd been waiting for this moment, waiting for the right time. His slut father was probably still cleaning the blood out of the carpet as ordered, wondering where he went wrong in raising his son. "Let's go then," he whispered silkily, motioning for the other to follow him as he walked away, a sway in his hips.

Tristan's pants suddenly got tighter.

Katsuya stood outside the apartment, trying to gather the courage to knock on the door. Yuugi was......dangerous now, to say the least, and whoever it was that had been killed hours ago was stupid, incredibly stupid. Yuugi had given up duel monsters -- giving the title of world champion back to Seto Kaiba, but he still kept his deck only for different reasons other than dueling(1). After Sugoroku had died and the fusion, Yuugi sold the game shop and brought himself an apartment with the money, even though he could buy much better from all the tournaments he'd won.

"Hello, Katsuya," a voice hissed into his ear like silken fire. He jumped and turned, seeing the one he desired standing off to his right, another blonde he could only assume was the Celtic Guardian behind him. Yuugi's eyes had a crimson glow to them tonight and the worried look Celtic was sending him screamed "Get out NOW!"

He didn't listen to the elf.

"Hey, Yuugi. Look, I......need a place to crash cus my home's on the other side of town. I was hoping ya wouldn't mind." It was half a lie, one that Yuugi neglected.

"Of course," he purred, bringing out the keys to his apartment. A wicked glint came to his amethyst orbs as he mentally ordered Celtic back to his card. "Stay as long as you want, Katsuya, there's plenty of room." He opened the door, stepping to the side and allowing the blonde in, noticing with some mirth that the elfin warrior had done as told. A pity......he had looked forward to both blondes with lust.

-- the Shadow Realm --

Dark looked up as Celtic entered their room in the Shadow Realm, closing his book as he noticed his blonde lover looked nervous and shaken up. The elf looked like a human at the moment before his ears grew slightly, the markings on his cheeks returning and his amber eyes becoming more feline again. Dark got up and walked over, wrapping his arms around his koi. Nothing was said between them as the mage felt a couple of tears drip onto his hands. Dark hated to see his love crying but the tears couldn't be helped. Every creature in the deck had heard about what Yuugi-sama had done to Celtic and the elfin warrior had suffered snide and cruel comments at the hands of Chaos, Kage and Neo. The creatures could hear Yuugi-sama's every thought and most of them had been about his koi ever since that night. Gaia and Silver had caught the trio trying to force the blonde into submission and had only just arrived in time. Celtic never went out without him or one of their friends.

At least to their knowledge.

Celtic broke down, dropping to his knees and out of the purple-haired mage's embrace. The only thing he could do was cry -- he wasn't strong enough to stand up to their master and it was the only way he could keep his beloved away from their master's blood-stained hands. The creatures of the deck, even the trio he seemingly despised so much, were afraid of their once sweet, innocent Yuugi-sama, the one they had grown to love and adore before the fusion.

"Cathan-koi," he heard Dark whisper, using the pet name the blonde loved. He stood, wiping the tears from his eyes as he tried to put on a brave face. The thing that disgusted him the most was that he loved it when Yuugi-sama had taken him, held him and whispered cold, cruel words to him. He had loved it when he asked Chaos, Neo and Kage to take him a second......no, a fifth time. Dark didn't know how much of a slut his koi was since Yuugi-sama had introduced him to a world of pain and pleasure, how long his affair with the trio of monsters had been going on.

But the mage knew his sadomasochistic side, the darker side of his blonde "koi". Why the spellcaster hadn't left him yet he wasn't sure, Dark was too damned loyal for his own good. If he knew the blonde's secret sex life, Celtic was sure he'd throw him away in a minute.

He pulled him down into a dark kiss, sliding his tongue against the mage's own once granted entry. His feline eyes were half-lidded, running his hands through Dark's silky tresses. He wanted it, needed it, craved it. Wanted, needed and craved the pain.

Dark was surprised at how violent his blonde lover had been in bed lately, of course he knew the darker side of the elf, knew the side that derived the pain from the pleasure. None the less, he returned the kiss, allowing his koi to explore his mouth, allowing him to taste the chocolate he'd had half an hour ago. He felt Celtic's hands travel to his hair, entwining with in its wine-blessed veils. It seemed that tonight Celtic wanted control.

(And now, the pathetic lemon writer known as Lady Bakura-chan is going to leave the lemon alone, since she can't write a proper one and doesn't feel like getting kicked off ff.net for a second time. So we'll skip right to the part where our two favourite DMs are entwined on the bed *drools*)

Dark let his cerulean eyes trace the blonde warrior's body, soaking in the aftermath. It had been his first time being taken but it had been a wonderful sensation. He rested his head on Celtic's toned chest, hand running idly down to his navel, which he traced delicately. Something caught his attention and he frowned, noticing that there seemed to be more scars on his lover's body than previously thought. And recent too. A heavy pain came into his heart, the knowledge that someone had been hurting his elf. He sat up, pulling out of Celtic's warm embrace.

Celtic rolled over, amber meeting accusing ice blue orbs. He tensed, a hand unconsciously clutching the silk bedsheets and lowering his head before looking up again. "Dama," he whispered, eyes full of hatred and self-loathing. The hatred was for himself. Dark swallowed, eyes still tracing the blonde's body before meeting his feline eyes again. He reached out to touch his koi, but he pulled away quickly, rolling into a sitting position and head bowed. "Dama, I......" Celtic licked his tainted lips, wiping his eyes as a tear rolled down. "......This shouldn't go on anymore, you should know the truth, Dark Magician."

A hurt look came into the mage's eyes at the full mention of his creature name. They had never called each other by their creature names before, only when angry with each other or when they had first met and fallen in love. "What......what do you mean, Cathan-koi?"

"Don't call me that!" the elf snapped, noticing the wince from his wine-haired lover. Tears rolled down his cheeks, over the marks made by the previous ones. "I......I don't deserve you, I don't deserve your trust or your love." He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "Dark, I've......I've been going to Chaos, Kage and Neo."

End of chapter one

(1) Come on, it's not too hard to imagine what Yuu-chan would do to his monsters now? ^.~ I've already given you a big enough hint with Celtic-chan *huggles Cathan* My poor Celtic-chan!

About the lemon; sorry for the lack of lemon but I just can't write lemons. If one of you wants to do the lemon for this chapter, e-mail me or review and I'll post it on adultfanfiction.net. For now, this one remains lemonless.

In the next chapter of "Dark Desires":
