Tale gasped and sat upright in bed, gasping for breath.
Sweet collected on her brow and ran down her cheeks like tears. She wiped it away with a clammy hand, laid back down on her pallet with a sigh.
“Just a dream, only a dream,” she chanted, her heart beating so fast it felt as though it would burst from her chest. She placed her hand over her heart ,feeling the thin cotton shift beneath her hand. Touching reality. Your just being silly, you’ve had that dream for ever! It shouldn’t scare you anymore, she told herself, Just a DREAM! But it wasn’t just a dream, it was the dream. The blood, the laughter, the man with wings, and a scream, her own scream. She shook her head. She been wondering if it would one day cause her to go insane.
She rose of the floor with a yawn, knowing that daylight would soon come, along with her duties. For years, ever since she was little, Shed been a servant to Husani. 20 long, miserable years of being up at the crack of dawn to cook, clean, fetch, and run Husani’s home. But I guess she was grateful. He’d saved her from the streets when her mother abandoned her. She remembered non of her past, at all.
She ran to the bath house outside, for the air was cold against her skin, causing goose bumps to rise. Slipping from the shift, and into the even colder bath she gasped in shock and quickly bathed her self, toweling off, and pulling on a long black skirt, and a red cotton blouse.
She returned to the main house though the kitchen and grabbed a slice of stall bread and cheese, before dawning a cloak and grabbing a small basket. Today was market day in the village and the house needed supplies. She pulled a small leather bag from a shelf over the door, smiling at the soft clink of coins inside. At least he remembered to refill it. She smiled to herself. Bedsides not knowing anything about taking care of himself, Husani had a very short memory.
She sun had risen quite far in the sky now as she hurried toward the center of town. The smell of bread baking filled the air of the square. Egyptians hustled and bustled past her on their way to some destination or other. Walking around under the tents of the merchants her basket quickly filled and her purse quickly emptied. With a sigh she began to make her way back, with the hot sun burning down on her.

(else where)
He slipped into the ally, almost stumbling as he ran, hand clutched tightly to his side. Shouts followed him thought the streets, and he ran faster. His other hand clung tightly to the bag over his shoulder, a clinking sound emitted from it every time he turned a corner and it thumped against his shoulder. He smiled to himself. It hadn’t been easy to break into the palace but he had done it. He thought of the gold and jems in the bag he had taken from the queens chamber. It had been a miracle that he had made it in there. If it hadn’t been for the guards love for wine, he’d probably be dead.
He laughed slightly then, gasped in pain. Pulling his hand away from his side he saw the blood that dripped from it.
“Close one. Almost had me back there” He had almost died back there. He would be farther away right now if that little rat hadn’t walked off with his horse.
I need to get this cleaned up and get some sleep. he stopped momentarily and looked around. He was in the high class end of the city. Somewhere cool…hethought. He glanced at each house and non of them had any place he could hide out the day. He sighed with frustration and fatigue, but then saw it. One on the smaller houses had a small stables behind it. Perfect!…there be shade and water. The smiled the frowned when he heard the guards voices once more.
Damn the persistent!” he swore and tore off toward the barn.

(Back)
With a sigh of relief, she stepped into the forgiving darkness of the kitchen shade. While removing things from her basket, she paused and listened. A Loud snoring came from some where in the house. Good he was still sleeping. She went through out the house and gathered up clothing and linen, wadding them up and leaving a breakfast on the table for him.
The well house was stifling hot but she ignored it pulling up water from the well and pouring it into the table top sized stone box to one side of the shed. She dumped in the clothes and stamped them down. She sighed and stepped out drying her feet. ill just let them sit a while before I finish. She sighed and sat down against the wall, closing her eyes. How many more years will my life be like this? she wondered to herself. Suddenly a loud whinny came from the small barn on the property. She looked out the window in its direction. Husani had hired men to take care of his two horses in the morning and dusk, but other wise the barn was empty during the day. So why was the barn door open?
