Introduction

Here's a little intro on my fan fiction, Darkness Within, based on the character Ryou Bakura, from the anime Yu-Gi-Oh!. This is not a yaoi fan fiction, so if you like yaoi, well too bad because I didn't believe that the match ups were appropriate or valid.

I've tried to stay as close to the anime as possible, so Bakura's eyes are blue and not brown because in the manga they were blue and in the video games, which the drawings are done by Kazuki Takahashi, are blue too, so there's my proof that Bakura's eyes are supposed to be blue. Anzu's eyes are also a different color than it was in the anime- they are brown. Also, the personalities and the story of the characters I tried leaning towards the manga, but there might be some holes in it since I haven't read enough of the manga to really be sure.

The reason I wrote this fan fic was because I wanted to make a more correct representation of Bakura. I have glanced through a few fan fic about Bakura, and many people make Bakura and the spirit of the ring separate people. It also struck me how people always made Bakura turn out to be a perfect angel. He always loves his “yami” no matter what he does to him. Also, those fan fics called the “hikari” Ryou and the “yami” Bakura, which doesn't make since Bakura's name is Ryou Bakura, and the spirit of the ring's name is Zork Necrophidus. So, this fan fiction's supposed to show the “darkness” within Bakura, anyway, he's only human. I also wrote this for a Bakura fan fic contest, but I couldn't reach the deadline.
